今朝ですが、ここ名古屋市千種区近辺はちょうど通勤時間帯に激しいゲリラ豪雨でありました。いつもの通り車で通勤なのですがちょうど通勤途中の東山界隈で冠水に遭遇いたしまして、あれよあれよという間に道路の雨水か増水。まだ水の浅いであろう部分をなんとか車で走り抜けましたが、本当に怖かったです。よくＴＶなのでゲリラ豪雨による冠水をニュースで拝見した際に「一瞬の間に水が溢れて。」とインタビューで答えている方がおりますが、あれは本当ですね。雨水の増水はあっという間でありました。さらに車でしたので、閉じ込めなどの恐怖も一瞬よぎり、災害はいつ降りかかってくるかわからないとほんとに実感いたしました。この意識がぼやけぬように知識や備えについてはアンテナを張っておかねばといかと思った今朝でありました。

さあ、気を取り直して本日のブログといきましょう。

たしか今年の冒頭に、今年は大河ドラマが徳川家康だし、せっかく地元とということもあり徳川家康についてちょっと追っかけてみようかなと呟いた気がいたします。ドラマはちょうど羽柴（豊臣）秀吉が関白に任命されたあたりなのでまだまだ戦国の世は続いておりますので、まだ徳川の世はまだまだといったところですが。

そんな家康に沸いているここ名古屋で、徳川家康や尾張徳川家にちなんだ徳川美術館の「徳川家康特別展」へ、行って参りました。

家康の資料を中心に家康が亡き後尾張徳川家に贈られた駿府御分物（家康の遺品）を中心に、家康の人となりから政治、学問、茶道や香道、芸能などに焦点をあて、家康像を紐解いた大変見ごたえのある特別展でして、県外の観光の方かな？という方もいらっしゃるようでした。

この尾張徳川家の御品はなにが素晴らしいかと言いますと、戦後の多くの大名家お家解体の際にもこの美術館として保存したため外に流出することなく現在も状態の良くたくさん保存されているとのことでして。こちらの美術館にはよく足を運ぶのですが、私がまだ目にしていない収蔵品はまだまだありそうですが、今回はこちらの収蔵品の国宝　太刀　銘　長光を拝見することが出来ました。

と、いいましても太刀や刀本来の波紋や風景などの良さは正直なところど素人の私にはなかなかわからないものでして。ですが、太刀や刀はストーリーといいますか思いを馳せることによって、この刃は輝きを放つのでしょうか。その波紋や景色は私には何とも言えぬ深い漆黒の中にその光を放つ刃に見えました。この国宝長光のストーリーの印象が乗っかっているからかどうか分かりませんが、大変印象に残る太刀でありました。

This morning, there was a heavy guerrilla downpour in the neighborhood of Chikusa-ku, Nagoya City, right around the time of my commute to work. As usual, I drove to work, but on the way to work, I encountered flooding in the Higashiyama area, and in no time at all, the water on the road was rising. I managed to drive through the part of the road where the water was still shallow, but it was really scary. I often see people on TV saying in interviews when they see flooding caused by guerrilla downpours on the news, “The water overflowed in an instant. This is true. It was true. The rising water from the rain was so fast. I was also in a car, so the fear of being trapped in a car was also a fearful thought, and I realized that you never know when a disaster will strike. This morning, I felt that I must keep my antennae up for knowledge and preparedness so that my awareness will not become blurred.

Now, let’s get back on track.

At the beginning of this year, I remember that this year’s Taiga Drama was about Tokugawa Ieyasu. I think I mentioned at the beginning of this year that I would like to follow Tokugawa Ieyasu, since he is a local resident. The drama is set around the time when Hideyoshi Hashiba (Toyotomi) was appointed as the Chief of the Warring States period, so the Warring States period is still going on.

In Nagoya, where Ieyasu is still very much alive, I visited the Tokugawa Ieyasu Special Exhibition at the Tokugawa Art Museum, which is related to Tokugawa Ieyasu and the Owari Tokugawa family. The exhibition was a very impressive one, focusing on Ieyasu’s personal history, politics, academics, tea ceremony, incense ceremony, and performing arts, and unraveling the image of Ieyasu, with a focus on Sunpu Gobunmono (Ieyasu’s belongings) presented to the Owari Tokugawa family after his death. Some visitors may have come from outside the prefecture.

The Owari Tokugawa family’s artifacts were preserved in this museum even during the postwar demolition of many feudal lords’ houses, so they have not been lost to the outside world and are still in good condition. I often visit this museum, and there are many more items in the collection that I have not yet seen, but this time I was able to see the National Treasure Nagamitsu Nagamitsu Tachi Sword.

I have to admit that it is not easy for me to appreciate the original beauty of swords, such as the ripples and the scenery. However, I was able to see how the blade shines when you think about the story of the sword or the sword. The ripples and scenery of the blade seemed to me to be a blade that radiated an indescribable deep jet-black light. I do not know if it is because of the impression of the story of this National Treasure Nagamitsu, but it is a sword that left a great impression on me.

As you know, many of Nagamitsu’s swords are designated as national treasures or important cultural properties, and he is a master swordsman representing the old sword age.

Originally, it was Oda Nobunaga’s favorite sword, but it is said that Akechi Mitsuhide took it out of Azuchi Castle after the Honnoji Incident. After that, he gave it to his retainer, Tsuda Toe Shigehisa (津田遠江長光), as a reward for his services in the Honnoji Incident, hence the name “Tsuda Toe Nagamitsu. However, it is a historical fact that Mitsuhide Akechi was destroyed by Hideyoshi Toyotomi shortly thereafter, and Shigehisa Tsuda Toe spent some time in wandering. Later, he came to serve the Maeda family in Kaga Province (present-day southern half of Ishikawa Prefecture), and it is said that he presented this sword to Maeda Toshitsune.

It was later presented by Maeda Toshitsune to the 5th shogun, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, and received by the 4th lord of the Owari domain, Tokugawa Yoshimichi, from the 6th shogun, Tokugawa Ienobu. It is now owned by the Tokugawa Art Museum in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, and is one of the most famous swords among the relics of Tokugawa Ieyasu that exist at the museum. I am sure that I am not the only one who was looking at the blade with passion for the fact that it exists here after such a long story.

The Tokugawa Ieyasu Special Exhibition was interesting in many ways, and I will bring you the sequel in the next issue.

昨夜の男子バスケットボールW杯の試合、興奮しました。完全に‘にわか’ファンなのですが、３ポイントシュートというのはあんなに決まるものなのでしょうか。魔法のようにネットに吸い込まれていきました。まさに練習のたまものですね。

開催国枠として参加した東京オリンピックでの全敗など、これまで屈辱を味わってきた日本男子チームの物語が更に感動を増幅させました。パリオリンピックも楽しみです。

さて前回のブログの続きにお付き合いください。伊勢神宮に近づくにつれて上空に雨雲が発生し、駅に着いた頃には土砂降りに。引き返すわけにもいかずバスで内宮に向かうと、山に重くかかっていた雲が少しずつ消え、神々しく瑞々しい山が現れました。街なかとは別世界の景色に心が洗われました。

伊勢神宮の内宮では五十鈴川が御手洗場とされており、かつてはここで全身を清めたとも言われています。今も川のほとりまで行って手を洗うことが出来ますが、残念ながら雨のため濁流となっており手を入れることはできませんでした。しかし差し込んだ太陽の光に反射して、雨粒の一つ一つがきらきらと光る様子に一同しばらく見惚れてしまいました。

初めて参拝した友人たちも雨の伊勢神宮を堪能していました。やはり何か目に見えないものの存在を感じる場所です。

伊勢神宮では他の神社と違って控えた方がよい行動がいくつかあるそうです。初参拝の友人を率いていくので再度調べて確認してみました。

今回は濁流で見えませんでしたが、五十鈴川の川底を見ると多くの小銭が沈んでいるのが見えます。参拝者が賽銭のつもりで投げ入れたのでしょうが、ここは身を清める場所なので、多くの人の手に触れ穢れもため込んできたお金を投げ入れるのは、川を汚すことになるので控えましょうとのこと。

もし賽銭をしたいのであれば、御手洗場のすぐ横にある瀧祭神（たきまつりのかみ）の賽銭箱があります。瀧祭神は五十鈴川の守り神で内宮の取り次ぎ役の神様だそうです。通り過ぎる方も多いのですが、手を洗った後はここにお参りすると正宮の天照大御神に取り次いでくれるとか。

次にお賽銭についてですが、伊勢神宮では外宮、内宮ともに正宮には賽銭箱がありません。代わりに白い布が敷いてあります。しかしこの布はお賽銭をするためのものではないそうです。

そもそも正宮は個人的なお願いをする場所ではなく、日本の平穏を願い祈る場所でした。そのため紙幣禁断とされ、個人的な願い事はしてはいけません。そのため賽銭箱が置いていないのですが、それでも賽銭をする人が後を絶たないので、お金から神殿を守るために白い布が敷かれています。そうとは知らずほとんどの人が賽銭をするそうです。

ここでは賽銭をせず、日頃の感謝、参拝できた感謝をし、賽銭や個人的な願い事は正宮の後に参拝する別宮の荒祭宮（あらまつりのみや）でしましょうとのことです。

最後に伊勢神宮の木々について。神宮には真っすぐに伸びた立派な太い木がたくさんあり、思わず触りたくなります。実際多くの人が木を触っているのを見かけ、人が触った部分は色が変わっています。触るとパワーがもらえる気がしますが、木が傷むのでやめておきましょう。

これらの行動をしてしまったからといって何か悪いことが起きるとか、罰があたるとかでは決してなく、せっかくなので気持ちよくお参りできればと思います。

余談ですが、こういう控えてほしい行動について何も注意喚起の札などがないところが伊勢神宮なのだなと感じました。

お参り後は、おはらい町でお腹も満たされ帰路につきました。帰りは近鉄特急「ひのとり」に乗車。往きのレトロな列車とは打って変わり最新設備が揃い、乗り心地が最高でした。メタリックレッドの車体がかっこよかったです。

night’s men’s World Cup basketball game was very exciting. I am a complete ‘mere’ fan, but I was wondering how a 3-point shot can be that good. It was like magic and went into the net. It was a true testament to the practice.

The story of the Japanese men’s team, which has experienced humiliation in the past, including losing all the games at the Tokyo Olympics, where they participated as the host nation, further amplified the excitement of the event. I am looking forward to the Paris Olympics.

Now, please bear with me as I continue from my previous blog. As we approached Ise Jingu Shrine, rain clouds started to form in the sky, and by the time we arrived at the station, it was pouring. Not wanting to turn back, we headed for the Inner Shrine by bus. The clouds that had been hanging heavy over the mountains gradually disappeared, and the mountains appeared divine and fresh. It was a different world from that of the city, and I felt refreshed by the scenery.

The Isuzu River is considered the washing place for the inner shrine of Ise Jingu, and it is said that people used to wash their hands here to purify themselves. Even today, you can go to the river to wash your hands, but unfortunately, due to the rain, the water was too muddy to put your hands in. However, we were all fascinated by the way each raindrop glistened in the sunlight.

My friends who visited the shrine for the first time also enjoyed the rainy Ise Jingu. After all, this is a place where one can feel the presence of something invisible.

Unlike other shrines, there are a few things you should refrain from doing at Ise Jingu. Since I was leading a group of friends on their first visit to the shrine, I looked them up again to make sure.

Although I could not see it this time due to the muddy water, if you look at the bottom of the Isuzu River, you will see many small coins sunk in the river. However, the temple staff told me that since this is a place for purification, I should refrain from throwing money into the river, which has been touched by many people and has accumulated dirt, because it would pollute the river.

If you want to make a money offering, there is a money box for Takimatsurinokami (the god of waterfalls) located right next to the Mitarashi place. Takimatsurinokami is said to be the guardian deity of the Isuzu River and the intercessor for the Inner Shrine. Many people pass by, but if you visit here after washing your hands, you will be interceded to Amaterasu, the deity of the main shrine.

Next, regarding monetary offerings, there are no money boxes in the main shrines of both the Geku and the Naiku at Ise Jingu. Instead, a white cloth is laid out. However, it is said that this cloth is not for making money offerings.

The Shogu was originally a place to pray for peace and tranquility in Japan, not a place to make personal requests. Therefore, paper money is forbidden and personal wishes are not allowed. For this reason, there is no money-offering box, but since there is no end to the number of people who make money offerings, a white cloth is laid out to protect the temple from money. Most people make money offerings without knowing that they are doing so.

The temple is a place to give thanks for the daily blessings and the opportunity to visit, and to make money offerings and personal wishes at the Aramatsurinomiya, a separate shrine that is visited after the Shogu.

Finally, let me tell you about the trees of Ise Jingu Shrine. There are many thick, straight, magnificent trees in the shrine, and you can’t help but want to touch them. In fact, I saw many people touching the trees, and the parts that people touched changed color. You may feel you can get power from touching them, but don’t do it because it will hurt the trees.

I hope you will visit Ise Jingu with a good feeling since you have taken the trouble to visit the shrine.

As a side note, I felt that the Ise Jingu Shrine is a place where there are no warning signs about the kind of behavior that should be refrained from.

After visiting the shrine, I was satisfied with my meal at Oharaicho and headed home. On the way back, we took the Kintetsu limited express train “Hinotori. The train was a far cry from the retro trains of the previous trip, but it had all the latest equipment, and the ride was very comfortable. The metallic red body of the train was very cool.

先日スタッフYが取り上げたスーパーブルームーン。夜空を明るく照らしてくれました。雲に隠れてもなお、強い光を放ち神秘的でした。それにしても月を撮影するのは難しいですね。コツを教えていただきたいです。

さて先週、東京から友人母娘の２組が遊びに来ました。たっての希望で彼女たちの初のお伊勢参りに同行することに。のっけから友人グループが近鉄と名鉄を間違えるというハプニングが起こり、待ち合わせに手間取りました。しかしこの遅れがラッキーな出会いにつながりました。

急行から乗り換えのため伊勢中川駅に降り立ったとき、３人娘から「可愛いー」の声。

向かいのホームになんとも愛らしい２両編成の列車が停まっていました。

近鉄の新しいラッピング列車「とばしま（鳥羽志摩）メモリー」が今年２月から主に伊勢中川～賢島駅間を運行しています。（一部、伊勢中川駅から近鉄名古屋駅間も運行しているそうです）

このラッピング列車は、鳥羽市と志摩市が共同でデザインや名称を考案し、鳥羽・志摩エリアの魅力を発信する「乗って楽しい、見て楽しい」観光用の列車とのこと。

ラッピングは「とばしまメモリー　なみの章」と「とばしまメモリー　うみの章」の２種類で、私たちが乗車したのは「なみの章」でした。

「なみの章」の表現は、テーマパーク「志摩スペイン村」との縁があるスペインの伝統的なタイルアートを参考にしているとのこと。両市の観光名所や名産品、ゆかりのある生き物などを表現した正方形の模様を外観に描き、鳥羽の青々としたアクティブな海と波をイメージしています。

ラッピング列車は時々見かけますが、車内まで統一された装飾が施されたもものは初体験で、細部に至るまでこだわりを感じました。

中に入ると、ため息が漏れるほどの可愛さでした。座席の座面、側面、床に至るまでタイルモチーフが溢れていました。

吊り革には鳥羽・志摩のクリアで美しい海の水を切り取ったようなアクセサリーが付いていて、１本１本表情が違います。窓の両端には鳥羽・志摩の海にちなんだ生き物や灯台などをモチーフにしたスペインタイルの額縁が飾られています。個人的には伊勢海老をモチーフにしたタイルに惹かれました。

中吊りの広告は海の生き物たちがゆらぎ、木目調のドア、テラコッタスタイル調の床。隙のないこだわりが随所にみられました。

娘たちは最初、特急に乗れば良かったのにと不満気でしたが、この列車に偶然乗ることができて、すっかりご機嫌になりました。近畿鉄道ってセンスがいい！そうです。旅はゆっくり行くのが吉なのかもしれません。帰りは特急に乗りましたが…。

いよいよ伊勢に近づくころ、雲行きが怪しくなってきました。急な雨雲が発生したようです。

あまりの雨の強さに参拝できるか心配になってきました。

The other day, Staff Y took up the super blue moon. It lit up the night sky brightly. Even though it was hidden by clouds, it was still shining strongly and mysterious. By the way, it is very difficult to photograph the moon. I would like to learn some tips.

Last week, two groups of friends, mother and daughter, came to visit us from Tokyo. They wanted me to accompany them on their first visit to Ise. From the very beginning, the group of friends mistook the Kintetsu line for the Meitetsu line, so it took a long time to meet up with them. However, this delay led to a lucky encounter.

When we got off at Ise-Nakagawa Station to change trains from the express train, our three daughters shouted, “How cute!

There was an adorable two-car train parked on the platform across from us.

Kintetsu’s new wrapped train, “Toba-Shima Memory,” has been running mainly between Ise-Nakagawa and Kenshima Stations since February this year. (Some of the trains also run between Ise-Nakagawa Station and Kintetsu Nagoya Station.)

The train is designed and named jointly by Toba City and Shima City, and is a “fun to ride and fun to see” sightseeing train that communicates the charms of the Toba/Shima area.

There are two types of wrapping trains, “Toba Memory: Nami Chapter” and “Toba Memory: Umi Chapter,” and we boarded the “Nami Chapter.

The “Nami no Sho” is based on traditional Spanish tile art, which has a connection with the Shima Spain Village theme park. Square patterns representing tourist attractions, local specialties, and creatures associated with both cities are painted on the exterior, evoking the lush, active sea and waves of Toba.

I have seen wrapped trains from time to time, but this was my first experience of one with a unified decoration that extends to the interior of the train, and I was impressed by the attention to detail.

Once inside, the train was so cute that I could not help but sigh. The seat, sides, and even the floor of the seat were full of tile motifs.

The hanging leather had accessories that looked like they were cut out of the clear, beautiful ocean waters of Toba and Shima, and each one had a different expression. Both ends of the window are decorated with Spanish tile frames with motifs of creatures and lighthouses associated with the sea of Toba and Shima. Personally, I was attracted to the tiles with a motif of lobsters.

The advertisements hanging inside feature wavering sea creatures, wood-grain doors, and terra-cotta style floors. The seamless attention to detail was evident everywhere.

My daughters were not happy at first, wishing they had taken the express train, but they were in a great mood when they happened to board this train. Kinki Railway has good taste! Yes, they do. Perhaps it is better to travel slowly. I took the limited express on the way back.

As we finally approached Ise, the clouds began to look suspicious. Sudden rain clouds seemed to have appeared.

The rain was so heavy that I began to worry if I would be able to visit the shrine.

みなさまこんにちは、スタッフYでございます。

本日は朝からお天気が気になって仕方ありません。そう、今夜の天体ショー「スーパーブルームーン」が気になりまして。

今夜は満月が今年最も大きく見える「スーパームーン」と、１か月に２度目の満月である「ブルームーン」が重なる「スーパーブルームーン」が３１日観測されるのですが、国立天文台によると、スーパーブルームーンは2010年1月以来13年ぶり。

ここでまた前回のスーパームーンからのおさらいなのですが、今日はさらに細かくおさらいしてみました。

前回も申しました通り「ブルームーン」とは月が青く見えるわけではないはないのですが、暦月に満月が2度ある時、2番目の満月を「monthly Blue Moon」と呼ぶことからきております。これは1年に満月が13回起きた結果なのですが、月の満ち欠け（朔望）の周期は平均29.53日ですので、れに基づいた「太陰暦」の1年（太陰年）は、地球が太陽の周りを回る周期を基にした「太陽暦」の1年（太陽年）より11日短いため、同じ暦月に満月が2度到来する現象がまれに起きるわけです。

太陽年の長さは365日5時間48分45秒、一方で太陰年の長さは354日8時間48分34秒だ。これにより、平均で2.7年毎に、満月が年に13回起きる年がやってきます。余談ですが、そうした年には最初の満月が1月11日までに昇るのですが、今年の1月の満月の「ウルフムーン」は1月7日でありました。

そしてこれまた余談ではありますが、そんな2.7年に一度の現象ですのでネーミングもいろいろ凝るわけでして、8月の終わりあるいは9月初めの満月は「フルーツムーン」と呼ばれることもあります。1年の中で、さまざまな果物が熟す時期と重なることによるそうですが、どちらにしても特別を出したい気持ちは伝わってきますね。

また、今回の満月は先ほどのブルームーンにさらに「スーパー」の意味がつきます。これは、月が地球を公転する軌道は完全な円ではなく楕円となっているため、月と地球との距離は周回する間に変化し、その「近地点（perigee）」で地球に最も近づいた時に「スーパー」と呼ぶところからきております。

よって、「スーパームーン」とは、月が近地点にきた時と満月が一致した時の月。と、いろいろ巡らしましたが、とどのつまりはそういうことであります。

遠地点の満月と比べて地球から見たサイズは約14％、明るさは約30％増すといい、前回のスーパームーンでもその明るさはよくわかりました。スーパームーンは一般に月が近地点と遠地点との間の距離の90%以上まで地球に近づいた時の満月を指すのですが、その定義によると2023年の4回の「スーパームーン」の中でも今回の「スーパーブルームーン」は最大。

とまあこんなに前情報がてんこ盛りですと、これは絶対「スーパーブルームーン」をこの目でみてやろうと、意気揚々となりますが、せっかくなら最も美しく見える完璧な状況や時間帯でみるには？とまたまた欲がでてきまして。

さらに調べてみますと、「ブルームーン」を見るのに最適な時は、日の入りと月の出の時刻の差によって変わってくるそうでして、理想的なのは月の出か日の入りの直後になる場合でして、日の残った夕暮れの空に満月が現れる素晴らしい光景が生まれるようです。

さらに完璧を求めようとしますと日本での満月の瞬間は8月31日午前10時36分でして、実は完璧なスーパームーンは日本でみることはできないようでして。ですがスーパーブルームーン前後3日間の日の入りと月の出の時刻ですと、きっとわが地域のスーパーブルームーンはみることはできるでしょうから、この時間帯を狙っていきたいですね。

などと色々細かな蘊蓄を巡らしてはきましたが、それよりなにより今夜のお天気がまずもって気になります。どうか本日の夕方の空にスーパーブルームーンが顔をだしてくれないかな…と、落ち着かない様子でお天気予報をチェックする朝でありました。

I have been concerned about the weather since this morning. Yes, I was wondering about tonight’s celestial show, the “Super Blue Moon.

According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, it has been 13 years since the last super blue moon in January 2010.

Here again is a review from the previous super moon, and today I have reviewed it in more detail.

As I mentioned last time, the term “blue moon” does not mean that the moon appears blue, but it comes from the fact that when there are two full moons in a calendar month, the second full moon is called a “monthly blue moon. This is the result of the full moon occurring 13 times in a year. The average lunar cycle is 29.53 days, so a lunar year based on the lunar calendar is 11 days shorter than a solar year based on the earth’s revolution around the sun, so the phenomenon of the full moon occurring twice in the same calendar month This is why the full moon occurs rarely in the same calendar month.

The length of a solar year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 45 seconds, while the length of a lunar year is 354 days, 8 hours, 48 minutes, and 34 seconds. This means that on average, every 2.7 years, there will be a year in which the full moon occurs 13 times a year. As an aside, the first full moon in such a year rises by January 11, but this year’s January full moon, the “Wolf Moon,” was on January 7.

The full moon at the end of August or the beginning of September is sometimes called the “fruit moon” because it coincides with the time of year when various fruits are ripening. Either way, you can feel the desire to make it special.

This full moon also adds a “super” meaning to the aforementioned blue moon. This is because the moon’s orbit around the earth is not a perfect circle but an ellipse, and the distance between the moon and the earth changes during its orbit.

Therefore, a “super moon” is the moon when the perigee of the moon coincides with the full moon. I have gone around a lot, but that is what it all boils down to.

Compared to a full moon at apogee, the size of the moon as seen from the earth is about 14% larger and its brightness is about 30% brighter, and the brightness of the moon was clearly visible at the last supermoon. A supermoon is generally defined as a full moon when the moon is closer to the earth than 90% of the distance between perigee and apogee, and according to this definition, this “super blue moon” will be the largest of the four “supermoons” in 2023.

With all this previous information, I was very eager to see the “Super Blue Moon” with my own eyes, but I also wanted to see it under the most beautiful conditions and at the most perfect time. I was greedy again.

Further research revealed that the best time to see a “blue moon” depends on the difference between sunset and moonset, and the ideal time is just after moonset, when the full moon appears in the dusk sky with the sun still up, creating a wonderful sight.

To make things even more perfect, the full moon in Japan will be at 10:36 a.m. on August 31, so it is not possible to see the perfect supermoon in Japan. However, if the sunset and moonset times of the three days before and after the super blue moon are the same, we should be able to see the super blue moon in our area.

I have already discussed many details, but I am more concerned about tonight’s weather than anything else. I hope that a super blue moon will appear in the sky this evening…” I was checking the weather forecast with a restless look on my face this morning.

皆さまこんにちは、スタッフYでございます。

先日名古屋高島屋にて、「フランス展 2023 La vie est Belle! ～人生は素晴らしい」が、行われておりまして少しですが覗いてまいりました。それにしてもフランス物やはりどれもデザインにはただならぬこだわりを感じます。アンティーク物も出店しているということで後学のためにそちらのブースも覗いてみたのですが、お値段をみるなりなかなか購入することはできなかったかったのですが、覗くだけでも面白かったです。

実はソーイングが趣味でして、洋裁関するパーツや資材で面白いものはないかと覗いてきたのですが、資材のほかにちょっと気になったのはアンティークの指ぬき。

西洋の（シンブル）指ぬきはコレクターズアイテムとして根強い人気ののようでして、それらのアンティークものが目に留まりました。本来は裁縫のときに指を保護するための道具なのですが、西洋では古くから結婚のお守りや女性に幸せをもたらすという言い伝えがあり贈り物やコレクション用に様々なシンブルが作られてきました。イギリスはもちろん、アメリカやカナダ、ポルトガルなど様々な国のシンブルがあるのですが、定番の花や鳥、蝶などが描かれたものから、販促用として作られた商品名の入ったPOPなデザインのシンブルもあったり。

昨日みたものは陶器にそれらの絵が描かれたものなのですが、もちろん金属製もあります。また、それらには地名が入っているものが多くて、スーヴェニールスプーンのように各地でお土産用に作られたものあるようですので実用ではなく飾りやコレクション用になっている気がいたします。

それにしてもソーイング歴〇十年ですが、実はこの指ぬきを使ったことがございません。私の周りの方もあまり使っていないので、絶対ないと縫えないということはないのですが、陶器製だとすべって無理かな…。金属製であれば形状によっては使えそうかな…。なんて、想像しながら小さな指ぬきを眺めておりました。

普段眺めるアンティークや骨董古美術品にもその年代や状況を勝手に想像しながら思いを馳せてみたりすることもあるのですが、この指ぬきを眺めますと、当時にも私と同じように針をもってソーイングしていたのだなと思いますと、よりその動きや様子までもがよりリアルに浮かんできまして。

タイムトリップできるならば、名もなきソーイングをしていたその人と、ソーイング談義して色々聞いてみたいことがいっぱいあるな…と、そこまで想像は暴走しておりました。

The other day, we visited the “French Exhibition 2023 La vie est Belle! I felt that the design of all French items were very particular about their design. I also took a peek at the antique booth to learn more, but I couldn’t buy anything at the price, but it was interesting just to take a peek.

Actually, I enjoy sewing, so I looked around to see if there were any interesting parts or materials related to Western-style sewing.

It seems that Western (thimble) thimbles are very popular as collector’s items, and these antique thimbles caught my attention. Originally, thimbles were used to protect fingers when sewing, but in the West, various thimbles have been made as gifts and collectibles because they are said to bring happiness to women and to be good luck charms for marriages. There are thimbles from various countries such as the U.K., the U.S., Canada, and Portugal, and some of them have standard flowers, birds, and butterflies drawn on them, while others are designed for sales promotions and have POP designs with product names on them.

The thimbles I saw yesterday were ceramic ones with those pictures on them, but of course there are also metal ones. Also, many of them have the names of places on them, and some of them, like the Souvenir Spoons, seem to have been made as souvenirs in various places, so I think they are for decoration or collection rather than for practical use.

I have been sewing for 10 years, but I have never used this thimble. I don’t think it is absolutely necessary for me to use it, but if it is made of ceramics, it may be impossible because it slides around…. But if it is made of ceramic, it might slip… If it is made of metal, I might be able to use it depending on the shape…. I was looking at the small thimble with my imagination.

I sometimes try to imagine the age and situation of antiques and antiques that I look at, but when I look at this thimble, I think that people in those days were sewing with needles just like me, and the movements and scenes of sewing come to my mind more realistically. I am very happy to be able to travel back in time.
If I could travel back in time, I would like to have a sewing talk with the nameless sewist and ask him or her many questions…my imagination has run wild to that point.

昨夜の突然の雷と雨で、数年ぶりの近所のお祭りも盆踊りや発表会が中止となり残念でした。

今夏は天気予報を凝視していても安心できませんね。

個人的にはまだ夏休み気分が抜けず、まだ休暇の余韻に浸っております。

先日訪れた薩摩焼錦手を堪能したデパート訪問の本当の目的地はこちらでした。

フロアの大部分が台湾茶や台湾雑貨、台湾料理やスイーツで埋め尽くされています。

台湾で人気のライフスタイルショップ「神農生活」が２０２１年にこちらに日本初進出しました。台湾土産として人気の高いお茶に特化した新ブラント、約１００種類が揃う台湾茶のセレクトショップ「Oolong Market 茶市場（ウーロンマーケットちゃいちば）」です。

また併設するティーサロンでは菓子付きで約１５種類の台湾茶が楽しめます。パイナップルやマンゴーのジャムをブレンドしてワイングラスで飲む「特調茶品」や、約４００mlの大きな茶器による「碗茶」など個性的なメニューがあります。

お湯を継ぎ足して味わう台湾茶の魅力は、１煎目と２煎目以降ではその度に香りがガラッと変化します。烏龍茶だけでも発酵度と焙煎により異なり、ときには緑茶のような、ときには紅茶のような奥深い味わいがあります。

古い話になりますが、中国に滞在していた頃、茶館（お茶屋さん）によくお茶を買いに行きました。選ぶのに悩んでいると、子供達はいつの間にか茶席に座らされ、店主にお茶を淹れてもらい、お菓子までいただいていました。

このお茶とお菓子の無限のループは中国茶の楽しみでもありますが、飲みすぎには注意が必要です。

中国でお茶に招待された時、お猪口のように小さい茶杯に様々なお茶が、会話を遮ることなく、絶妙なタイミングで延々と注がれ、それぞれのお茶に合うお菓子と共に飲み続けること数時間…。どれだけ飲んでいるのか分からなくなります。

しかしどれも香り高く、特に香りが良いものは聞香杯という細長い茶杯に淹れ、別の茶杯にお茶を移した後、聞香杯に残った香りのみを楽しみます。日本の茶道にはない作法ですね。「聞」という漢字は中国語で香りをかぐ動作を意味します。

そして時に甘味さえ感じる中国茶。お茶の概念が変わる贅沢な時間でした。

久しぶりに台湾茶をとも思いましたが、食欲に勝てず、隣の台湾料理店で魯肉飯と混ぜ麺と豆花をがっつり食べてしまいました。

台湾でも人気の調味料もいくつか購入したので、しばらくは台湾気分を味わえそうです。

Last night’s sudden thunder and rain caused the cancellation of the Bon Odori dance and presentation at the neighborhood festival for the first time in several years, which was unfortunate.

I don’t feel safe even if I stare at the weather forecast this summer.

Personally, I am still in the summer vacation mood and am still basking in the afterglow of my vacation.

The real destination of my recent visit to the department store where I enjoyed Satsuma Ware Nishikite was here.

The majority of the floor is filled with Taiwanese tea, Taiwanese goods, Taiwanese cuisine, and sweets.

A popular Taiwanese lifestyle store, Shennong Seikatsu, will open its first Japanese branch here in 2021. A new brand specializing in tea, a popular Taiwanese souvenir, is the “Oolong Market Tea Ichiba,” a select store offering about 100 varieties of Taiwanese tea.

The adjoining tea salon offers about 15 varieties of Taiwanese tea with sweets. The unique menu includes “special teas” blended with pineapple or mango jam and served in wine glasses, and “cup teas” served in large 400ml tea containers.

The charm of Taiwanese tea is that the aroma changes drastically from the first to the second and beyond, as you add hot water to taste it. Oolong tea alone varies with the degree of fermentation and roasting, sometimes tasting like green tea and sometimes like black tea.

This is an old story, but when I was staying in China, I often went to a teahouse (tea shop) to buy tea. When we were having a hard time choosing, the children would be seated at the tea table before we knew it, and the owner would brew tea for us and even offer us sweets.

This endless loop of tea and sweets is one of the pleasures of Chinese tea, but be careful not to drink too much.

When I was invited to tea ceremonies in China, a variety of teas were poured into cups as small as a boar’s cup with exquisite timing and without interrupting the conversation, and I would continue drinking for several hours with sweets that went with each tea. You lose track of how much you are drinking.

The most fragrant teas are brewed in a long, narrow cup called a monko-hai, and after the tea is transferred to another cup, only the fragrance remaining in the monko-hai is enjoyed. This is a practice not found in the Japanese tea ceremony. The Chinese character for “listen” means the act of smelling the fragrance.

And sometimes, Chinese tea even has a sweet taste. It was a luxurious time that changed my concept of tea.

I wanted to try Taiwanese tea for the first time in a while, but I could not resist my appetite and ended up having a hearty meal of roasted rice, mixed noodles, and bean flowers at a Taiwanese restaurant next door.

I also bought some seasonings that are popular in Taiwan, so I think I will be able to enjoy the Taiwanese mood for a while.

今朝も抜けるような青空に、今日もあついぞ…と、覚悟をきめて家をでましたが、先日からここ愛知県では毎年行われる夏の恒例の大イベント「にっぽんど真ん中祭り」が始まっております。

にっぽんど真ん中は、真夏の暑い名古屋を舞台に繰り広げる日本最大級の踊りの祭典でありまして、通称「どまつり」。国内外から集結する約200チーム20,000人が地域色豊かな踊りを披露する誰でも参加できる市民参加型の新しいスタイルのお祭り。

ここ愛知県におりますと、知り合い、もしくは知り合いの知り合いをなどをたどっていきますと「チームに入っているよ」「知り合いが参加するよ」なんとことをよく耳にしまして。また、このどまつりにかかわらず年間を通してどこかしらでチームの演技をみることもでき愛知県の生活にはすっかりなじんでおります。が、やはりこのどまつりはチームのみなさんのとっては特別な大きな目標のようであります。

その規模は4日間の来場者数も例年約200万人の観客動員を数え、会期中はメイン会場のみならず様々な会場でチームの総踊りが繰り広げられ名古屋の街中は華やかなお祭り一色になります。それぞれのチームが情緒ある地域文化をリズミカルにアレンジした音楽にのせて、そして華やかな衣装や目を見張るほどの演出を繰り広げますが、何よりもいいのは踊り手ひとりひとりの素敵な笑顔。参加者だれもがはちきれんばかりのエネルギーと笑顔が爆発し、会場中に溢れみんなに元気や感動を与えてくれるんですよ。

そしてですね、このお祭りは「観客動員ゼロ＝全員参加型」の祭りをコンセプトに掲げており、中でも参加者も観客も一緒に踊りが楽しめるどまつり名物「総踊り」では、2010年に見事ギネス世界記録™ “世界一の総踊り”として認定されております。とにかく、参加して踊れはいいんです。

そんな見るだけじゃない誰もが主役になれる感動体験を味わえるのがどまつりの魅力なのですが、実は友人のお子さんが、とあるチームの一員で参加しておりまして。会場にて応援はできませんでしたが、昨日ライブ配信にて視聴いたしました。

大きなチームですと数１００人単位のところもあり、踊り、衣装、舞台演出も豪華でして本当に圧倒されるレベル。お知り合いのお子さんのチームも大所帯でしてさすがに見つからないだろうなと思っていたのですが、たまたまアップでとらえたところを見つけることができました！。「いたーっ！」と、こちらも携帯を握りしめて思わず歓声が！。エネルギーをもらえるとはまさにこういうことなのでしょうね。といいますか私のようにライブ配信参加もできますので、携帯画面越しに大きな声をだしても参加ができます。全参加型とはまさにこういうことでもありますね。

感動、興奮、熱気が、ぎゅっと詰まったこの「にっぽんど真ん中祭り」、今年は明日まで。たくさんのチームが参加し会場に行けなくてもこうして私のように参加はできますが、他県もみなさま、是非一度暑い名古屋の暑いお祭りに「参加」しにいらしてみてください。

参加した時には、あなたもきっと踊っているはず。

This morning, the sky was a clear blue again, and I left my house prepared for another hot day…but the other day, the annual summer event “Nippon Doshinchu Matsuri” started here in Aichi Prefecture.

The Nippon Doshinchu is one of the largest dance festivals in Japan, commonly known as “Domatsuri,” which takes place in the hot midsummer city of Nagoya. It is a new style of festival in which anyone can participate, with about 200 teams and 20,000 people from Japan and abroad performing dances with a rich regional flavor.

Here in Aichi Prefecture, I often hear from my acquaintances and their acquaintances that they are on a team or that their acquaintances are participating in the festival. In addition to this festival, I have been able to see the team’s performances at various places throughout the year, so I have become familiar with the life in Aichi Prefecture. However, this festival seems to be a very special and big goal for the teams.

The scale of the festival is so large that it usually attracts about 2 million visitors over the four days, and during the festival period, teams dance not only at the main venue, but also at various other venues, turning the streets of Nagoya into a gorgeous festival atmosphere. Each team performs to the rhythmically arranged music of the emotional local culture, and their gorgeous costumes and spectacular performances, but the best part is the wonderful smiles of each and every dancer. The energy and smiles of all the dancers are so infectious that they overflow throughout the venue, cheering up and inspiring everyone.

The “So Odori” dance, a festival specialty, in which both participants and spectators can enjoy dancing together, was certified by Guinness World Records™ as the “World’s Largest So Odori Dance” in 2010. Anyway, it is good if you can join in and dance.

The charm of the festival is that everyone can experience the excitement of not only watching, but also being the star of the show. I was not able to cheer for the team at the venue, but I watched the live-streaming yesterday.

The dance, costumes, and stage direction were gorgeous and overwhelming. I thought I would not be able to find the team of a friend’s child, but I happened to find a close-up of the team! There he is! I couldn’t help but cheer, clutching my cell phone! I guess this is what it means to be energized. I was able to participate in the live-streaming as I did, so I was able to participate even if I had to shout out loud through my cell phone screen. This is exactly what I mean by “full participation.

This year’s “Nippon Doshinchu Festival,” filled with excitement, excitement, and enthusiasm, will end tomorrow. Many teams participate in the festival, and even if you can’t make it to the venue, you can still participate like I did.
