みなさまこんにちは、スタッフYでございます。

先週から一気に寒さが増し、ここ名古屋でも落ち葉が舞い始めました。庭先や通りの落ち葉を集め掃除している方や、大きな道路の落ち葉を一気に清掃しトラックで一気に回収していたりと、街が一気に枯れ葉ムードになってまいりましたね。

たしか先週は紅葉云々と東山動植物園の紅葉のライトアップの呟きをいたしましたが、あっという間のことだった気がいたします。

そんなおススメしていた紅葉スポットですが、実は、おススメした本人がどうしても行きたい衝動にかられ、思わず行っておりました。どうやら自己暗示にかかりやすいタイプの人間のようです。

確か、訪れたのは午後16：00。

名古屋はこのところ17：00くらいには暗くなってきますので、まだ陽が陰る紅葉とライトアップを両方楽しめる時間帯を狙ってみました。少し陽は陰っていますがなんとか明るい紅葉に間に合いました。

エントランスを抜け、合掌造りの家まで続く園路の「紅葉のトンネル」には、色とりどりの立派な「五色もみじ」がありそこは見どころであります。そして東山動植物園のモミジは植物園というだけあって、園内にそのモミジは６０種類、約２００本紅葉を含め紅葉する樹木は約５００本植えられております。その木々の違いを楽しめるのも特徴でして、とても大きい紅葉もあり、迫力もあります。

そんな「紅葉のトンネル」を抜けると、実際に岐阜・白川村にあった「合掌造りの家」が目の前に。日中は見学もでき、一瞬「ここはどこだ？」と思わせる歴史的な風景と見頃のモミジのコラボレーションも楽しめますので、写真もそれっぽく撮れました。

そうこうしておりますと、だんだんと夕闇につつまれ東山にライトアップが点灯。先日TVで見た清水寺のようなあのようなたくさんの人でごった返すようなことはないのですが、まあまあ人は訪れております。

真っ暗闇のライトアップもよいのですが、夕闇が移り変わるこの時間帯のなんともいえない紅葉と空の色のバリエーションがなんともいえませんね。これは、時間限定。

そうこうしておりますと、池に照らされた紅葉の向こう側にちょうど月が現れました。いやぁ風流。

こうやって静かな池に浮かぶ紅葉の景色なのですが、この写真を撮っているこちら側の撮影スポットだけは少し人が多く、わっしょいわっしょい状態です笑。ここ東山は里山地形をそのまま活かした植物園でして、写真におさめますと、ここが植物園ということを一瞬忘れそうになる風景ですね。

また、「東洋一の水晶宮」と謳われた85年前の姿を残す日本最古の温室が8年ぶりに再公開ということで話題の東山動植物園でして、重要文化財でもある温室の改修工事を終えこちらもライトアップしておりました（この時間帯は室内の見学は終わっておりましたが。）最後はこちらを眺めながら植物園を後を退出。人込みを覚悟をして臨んだのですがさくっとノーストレスで行って来れました。

東山植物園、園内には約7,000種もの植物が自生しているものの、自然の里山地形をそのままに活かしたかたちで植物が展示されているからでしょうが、植物と人が自然とここにいられるし植物園なのか里山なのか？といった面白い植物園であります。また、紅葉スポットは人ごみとの闘いだと遠ざかっているみなさま、ライトアップの人込みもそんなに大変ではありませんでしたので、こちらはいろいろおススメな植物園でありますので、一度足を伸ばしてみてかいかがでしょうか。

It has become colder and colder since last week, and the leaves have started to fall here in Nagoya. People were collecting and sweeping up fallen leaves in their yards and on the streets, and trucks were sweeping up fallen leaves on large roads.

Last week, I mentioned about the illumination of the autumn leaves at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the person who recommended it to me couldn’t resist the urge to go. It seems that I am the type of person who is prone to self-suggestion.

As I recall, we visited at 16:00 in the afternoon.

It gets dark around 5:00 p.m. in Nagoya these days, so we tried to visit at a time when the sun was still shading and we could enjoy both the autumn leaves and the lights. The sun was shading a little, but I managed to get there in time to see the bright autumn leaves.

The “tunnel of autumn leaves” along the path leading from the entrance to the Gassho-zukuri house has magnificent “five-color maple trees” of various colors, which is a highlight. Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden is a botanical garden, and there are about 500 maple trees planted in the garden, including about 200 maple trees of 60 varieties that change their leaves in autumn. The trees are very different from each other, and some of them are very large, making them very powerful.

After passing through the “tunnel of autumn leaves,” the “Gassho Zukuri House” that actually existed in Shirakawa Village, Gifu Prefecture, is right in front of you. During the daytime, you can take a tour of the house, and the historical scenery will make you wonder for a moment, “Where am I? The collaboration of the historical scenery and the maple trees at their peak of bloom was a delightful experience, and I was able to take some good photos of the area.

As I was doing so, the evening darkness gradually enveloped the Higashiyama area and the lights lit up. It was not as crowded as Kiyomizu-dera Temple that I saw on TV the other day, but there were a lot of visitors.

The lights up in total darkness is good, but the variation of the colors of the leaves and the sky at this time of the day when the evening darkness is changing is indescribable. This is a time-limited event.

As I was doing so, the moon appeared on the other side of the autumn leaves illuminated by the pond. How elegant!

The view of the autumn leaves floating on the pond is so tranquil, but the spot where I am taking this picture is a little crowded with people, and it is a state of “wasshoi wasshoi”. The view of Dongshan is a botanical garden that makes use of the satoyama terrain as it is, and when photographed, it is easy to forget for a moment that you are in a botanical garden.

The Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden, which is also an important cultural asset, had just finished renovation work and was now lit up (although indoor tours were closed at this time). We left the botanical garden with a view of the greenhouse. I was prepared for the crowds, but I was able to get there quickly and stress-free.

Higashiyama Botanical Garden has about 7,000 species of plants growing wild in the garden, but it is an interesting botanical garden because the plants are displayed in a way that makes use of the natural satoyama topography as it is. It is an interesting botanical garden. For those who stay away from autumn foliage viewing spots because of the crowds, I highly recommend this place because the crowds during the illumination were not so big.

さて、今朝は近くにございます「上野天満宮」へ立ち寄ってまいりました。

実は数日前にも参拝したのですが、その時は参拝後に突然の雨に降られ、今日は写真撮影のため改めて参拝。後で調べたのですが、参拝後に天候が変わるのは、歓迎のサインと言われているそうです。なにか良いことが起こるといいなとうれしくなりました。

そんな「上野天満宮」は、名古屋三大天神（山田天満宮、桜天神社、上野天満宮）の一つに数えられ、合格祈願の聖地である三社を巡る「名古屋三大天神参り」が有名ですね。

「上野天満宮」はおよそ千年前の平安時代中期に、陰陽師「安倍晴明」の一族が菅原道真公を祀ったことが起源とされています。菅原道真といえば学業の神様ですが、菅原道真が学問の神様と呼ばれるようになったのはなぜでしょうか。

菅原道真は平安時代に活躍したの学者・文人・政治家です。とても頭がよく、現代でいうと閣僚のナンバー２の右大臣へ異例の早さで昇りつめました。また学問はもとより書や和歌・連歌などにも秀でた人物でした。ですが、出世を妬む者の陰謀で大宰府に左遷され、そのままその地で亡くなってしまいます。

菅原道真が亡くなると平安京に落雷が続き、次々と人が亡くなります。当時の人たちは、これは菅原道真のせいだと恐れ、雷の神、すなわち天の神として祀るようになります。そこで朝廷は神社を建て、道真に「天満天神」の称号を与えると、天満天神の神社は庶民の信仰を集めるようになりました。そして、ずば抜けた学才により異例の出世をしたことで学業の神として祀られるようになりました。

また、天満宮といえば撫で牛です。天満宮と名の付く多くの神社に牛の像がありますが、これは菅原道真の生まれた年が乙丑（きのとうし）に当たるからという説や、菅原道真のご遺体を運ぶ途中で牛車が動かなくなり、その地に埋葬したその場所が現在の大宰府天満宮となったことから、牛を菅原道真の使いとする説など諸説あるようです。

牛を撫でると賢くなるとか、体の悪いところを撫でると良くなると言われています。上野天満宮にも二つの撫で牛の像がありますので、訪れた際はぜひ撫でてみてください。囲われた牛の方が昔からあるそうで、とってもご利益があるとご近所の方に教えてもらいました。

その撫で牛の像の周りをはじめ、境内ではいたるところで色とりどりの無数の小さな人形を見ることができます。人形の底の部分におみくじが入った「天神みくじ」は道真君の愛称で親しまれています。本来は持ち帰って飾るものかと思いますが、境内の様々な場所に置かれており、よくぞ置いたと感心する場所を見つけるのも楽しみのひとつかもしれません。

This morning, I dropped by the nearby Ueno Tenmangu Shrine.

Actually, I visited the shrine a few days ago, but it suddenly rained after that visit, so I visited the shrine again today to take pictures. I found out later that it is said to be a sign of welcome when the weather changes after visiting the shrine. I was happy that something good would happen.

Ueno Tenmangu Shrine is one of the three major Shinto shrines in Nagoya (Yamada Tenmangu Shrine, Sakura Tenmangu Shrine, and Ueno Tenmangu Shrine), and is famous for the “Nagoya Sanda Tenmangu Shrine Mairi,” a tour of the three shrines that is a sacred place for prayers for success.

Ueno Tenmangu Shrine is said to have its origin in the mid-Heian period (about 1,000 years ago), when the family of the yin-yang master “Abe no Seimei” enshrined Sugawara no Michizane. Sugawara no Michizane is the god of learning, but how did Sugawara no Michizane come to be called the god of learning?

Sugawara no Michizane was a scholar, writer, and politician active during the Heian period. He was very intelligent and rose exceptionally quickly to the position of Minister of the Right, the second highest position in the cabinet in modern times. He excelled not only in academics but also in calligraphy, waka poetry, and renga. However, due to a plot by those who envied his success, he was transferred to Dazaifu, where he died.

After the death of Sugawara no Michizane, lightning struck Heian-kyo and people died one after another. The people of the time feared that this was the fault of Sugawara no Michizane and began to worship him as the god of thunder, or heavenly deity. So the Imperial Court built a shrine and gave Michizane the title of “Tenma Tenjin,” and the shrine of Tenma Tenjin came to be worshipped by the common people. He was also worshipped as a god of scholarship because of his exceptional academic ability that led to his exceptional success in life.

Tenmangu Shrine is also known for its petting cows. Many shrines with the name “Tenmangu Shrine” have statues of cows, but some believe that this is because the year of Sugawara no Michizane’s birth fell on the year of the Ox, while others believe that the cow was a messenger of Sugawara no Michizane, since the ox carriage carrying his corpse became stuck and the burial site became the present Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. There are various theories.

It is said that if you pet the cow, you will become smarter, or if you pet a bad part of your body, you will get better. There are two statues of petting cows at Ueno Tenmangu Shrine, so please try petting them when you visit. I was told by a neighbor that the enclosed cow has been around for a long time and is said to be very beneficial.

Around the petting cow statues and throughout the temple grounds, you can see countless small colorful dolls. The “Tenjin-mikuji,” a fortune with a fortune in the bottom of the doll, is nicknamed “Michizane-kun. Although the dolls are supposed to be taken home and displayed, they are placed in various places within the temple grounds, and finding a place to admire them may be one of the pleasures of visiting the temple.

まもなく12月になりますね。小さいお子さまのいらっしゃるご家庭では、クリスマスに向けて準備に忙しくされているのではないでしょうか。我が家では、少し前に、サンタさんのお仕事はもっと小さいお子さまのお宅を優先してもらうことになりましたので、特に慌てることはなくなりました。ですが、毎年簡単になっていくクリスマスに、最近は少し寂しさも感じています。

ところで、みなさま『ブックサンタ』をご存知でしょうか？

『ブックサンタ』は、様々な事情で大変な境遇にいる子どもたちへ、本をプレゼントしようというプロジェクト。

「あなたも誰かのサンタクロース」を合言葉に、2017年から本を届ける活動が始まりました。参加書店は1600店舗を超え、寄付された本は2万冊を超えたそうです。

参加の仕方はとても簡単。自分の贈りたい本を書店で選び、レジで「ブックサンタ」と伝えて購入するだけです。何冊買っても、大丈夫です。自分の贈りたい本を本屋さんで買うとサンタさんが届けてくれるという素敵なプロジェクトですが、自分の本を買うついでに、さりげなく寄付できるところが良いなと思います。

どんな本を贈っても良いのですが、クリスマスに合わせて、サンタクロースやクリスマスのお話の絵本や、自分の好きな作家さんの本を選んでもいいですね。

私が贈る本は、なるべく最近発売された本を選ぶことにしています。昔からある本は図書館でも借りられますが、最新のものはなかなか図書館では順番が回ってこないですから。

今年は、「パンどろぼう」と「大ピンチずかん２」を贈ることにしました。

「パンどろぼう」は気になっていた絵本です。本屋さんでお試しで読んで面白かったので。犯人の正体に子供たちの「えー－！」という声が聞こえてきそうです。絵も可愛く、グッズもたくさん出ていますね。

「大ピンチずかん２」は、ある日突然やってくる大ピンチ…なのに思わず笑っちゃう内容です。 親子いっしょに「あるある」と楽しむことができそうです。

子どもの頃に読んだ絵本は、大人になってからも記憶に残るもの。特に、プレゼントしてもらった絵本はとびきりの思い出になります。定番のクリスマス絵本や、好奇心を育てる図鑑、今年話題になった本。みなさまおすすめの本はどんな本でしょう。

ささやかながら、本に出会って楽しんでもらえる機会が作れるといいなと思って毎年参加しています。

It will soon be December. Families with young children are probably busy preparing for Christmas. In our family, we decided a while ago to give Santa’s job to our younger children first, so we are no longer in a hurry. However, I am feeling a little sad these days because Christmas is getting easier and easier every year.

Have you ever heard of “Book Santa”?

Book Santa” is a project to give books as gifts to children who are in difficult circumstances for various reasons.

Under the slogan “You are someone’s Santa Claus,” the project started in 2017 to deliver books to children in need. More than 1,600 bookstores are participating in the project, and more than 20,000 books have been donated.

Participation is very simple. All you have to do is choose the book you want to donate, tell the cashier you want to donate “Book Santa,” and make your purchase. It doesn’t matter how many books you buy. It is a wonderful project where you buy the book you want to give and Santa will deliver it to you, but I like the fact that you can donate casually while buying your own books.

You can give any kind of book, but in keeping with Christmas, you can choose a picture book about Santa Claus or a Christmas story, or a book by your favorite author.

I try to choose books that have been recently released as much as possible for my gift. Older books can be checked out from the library, but the newest ones are hard to get a turn at the library.

This year, I decided to give “Pan Dorobo” and “Dai Pinch Zukan 2.

Bread Dorobo” is a picture book that I had been curious about. I tried it out at a bookstore and found it interesting. I can almost hear the children’s “Eeeee! I can almost hear the children’s voices when they find out who the culprit is. The pictures are cute and there are a lot of goods in the book.

The “Big Pinch Zukan 2” is a book about a big pinch that comes suddenly one day…and yet the contents make you laugh. Parents and children will enjoy saying “ah-ha” together.

Picture books that you read as a child will remain in your memory even after you become an adult. In particular, picture books that were given to you as a gift will become an especially special memory. There are classic Christmas picture books, illustrated books that nurture curiosity, and books that were the talk of the town this year. What books do you recommend?

We participate in this event every year in the hope that we can create an opportunity for people to encounter and enjoy books, even if it is a small one.

さて古美術風光舎には年代の古いものが様々ございます。弥生時代の土器もかなりの年代物でしたが、このたび新しく縄文時代の土製品が加わりました。初めて見た印象は「靴？」でした。子供の頃に工作で作った靴の置物に似ていたからです。

調べてみますと本当に「靴形土製品」と呼ばれるものでした。土製品とは土や石でできた実用品ではないものを指します。環状列石などの周辺から多く出土することから祭祀、儀礼の道具という説があります。また内側に黒いスス状の付着物がみられることがあり、植物の燃焼に由来すると推定されています。このことから祭祀、儀礼の際に火を使うことに用いられたという説が有力です。

粘土に雲母が混ざっていてきらきらしており、弥生土器とは対照的に小さなボディにたくさんの模様が描かれています。

特にこの裏の模様。当時の人々が何を願ってこの絵を描きこみ、祈っていたのか想像力を掻き立てられます。

昨日のブログで縄文時代には竹の道具が既に使われていたと書きました。人間が「編む」技術を獲得したのは旧石器時代で、石器を木の柄に縛り付けることから考え出されたといわれています。世界の編み物の基本形は、ほぼ石器時代に出そろっていたとか。縄文時代は想像以上に豊かな暮らしが営まれていたようです。

なにより驚くべきことは１万４千年もの間、人を殺す武器を持たず大きな戦がなかったと推測されていることです。遺骨のうち外傷により亡くなったものは１０％ほどで、矢が刺さった人骨も見つかっていないとのこと。

当時の安定した気候のおかげで、魚介類や果物などの食料が豊富で、またその保存法も発達していたことも平和な時代が続いた一因だと考えられています。

直接生活に関わらない第二の道具といわれる土偶、呪術具、祭祀道具を作り、神や精霊に捧げものをし、自然災害や病気が近づいてこないよう祈る。死者の弔いの儀式を大切にし、花や食べ物を一緒に埋葬する。亡くなった子供の足型を粘土に取り、身の回りに置いておく。ポリオなどの病気の子供も献身的に看病し育てる。

遺跡からは精神的に成熟した当時の人々の生活がうかがえます。

争いを避け、自然に感謝しながら生活をしていた縄文人のDNAを私たちも受け継いでいると信じたいです。

We have a variety of old items of various ages at Fuhkosha. The Yayoi period earthenware was also quite old, but now we have a new addition to our collection, a Jomon period earthenware. My first impression was “shoes? I was surprised to see a pair of shoes made by a craftsman in my childhood. It was because it looked like a shoe figurine I made as a child.

I looked it up and found that it was indeed a “shoe-shaped clay artifact. Earthenware refers to objects made of clay or stone that are not practical products. Since many of them were excavated from the vicinity of annals and other sites, there is a theory that they were ritual or ceremonial tools. The black soot-like deposits sometimes found on the inside of these objects are presumed to have originated from the burning of plants. This suggests that the stone was used for fire during rituals and ceremonies.

The viscosity is mixed with mica and sparkling, and in contrast to Yayoi earthenware, many patterns are painted on the small body.

In particular, this pattern on the back. It is very interesting to imagine what people at that time wished and prayed for when they painted these pictures.

In yesterday’s blog, I wrote that bamboo tools were already in use during the Jomon period. It is said that humans acquired the art of “knitting” during the Paleolithic period, which was conceived of by binding stone tools to wooden handles. The basic forms of knitting in the world were almost all available in the Stone Age. The Jomon period seems to have been a time when life was richer than one could imagine.

What is most surprising is that it is estimated that for 14,000 years, there were no weapons to kill people and no major battles were fought. Only about 10% of the remains have been found to have died from traumatic injuries, and no human bones have been found with arrows piercing them.

It is believed that the stable climate of the time contributed to the abundance of foodstuffs such as fish and fruits, as well as the development of methods for preserving them, which contributed to the continuation of a peaceful period.

They made clay figurines, magical and ritual implements, which are said to be secondary tools not directly involved in daily life, and made offerings to gods and spirits, praying that natural disasters and diseases would not approach them. They cherish mourning rituals for the dead and bury them with flowers and food. Take the footprints of deceased children in clay and place them around you. Children with polio and other illnesses are also nursed and raised with devotion.

The remains reveal the spiritually matured lives of the people of that time.

I would like to believe that we too have inherited the DNA of the Jomon people, who avoided conflict and lived in gratitude to nature.

皆さまこんにちは。スタッフHでございます。

短すぎる秋のせいか、出番がなかった洋服が多い気がします。地球の気候の変動を身に染みて感じるこの頃です。

先日TVでプラスチック製品が深い海の中を漂う衝撃的な映像を見ました。これまでに海に流れ出たプラスチックの量はなんと２５００万トン。日本は一人当たりの包装容器のプラスチック廃棄量が世界第２位だそうです。

そんな中、今注目されているサスティナブルな素材のひとつとして竹があります。歯ブラシやマグカップから建築素材まで様々な製品が竹から作られているようです。

こちらの店内にも古来からの活用方法で作らた素敵な竹細工があります。均整のとれた美しい形なのですが、横に走っているライン？が斜めになっていて、デザインだとしたらセンスとこだわりを感じます。背面に掛け金具があるので、壁にもかけられます。

元は青みがかっていたであろう色味が深い茶色に変化し、艶も出てきて味わい深く育っています。

竹は日本人には馴染みが深く、門松、鹿おどし、竹馬、竹トンボ、竹刀、弓、流しソーメン…　といくらでも思い付きそうです。生育が早く、手軽に手に入る上に通気性や抗菌性などの機能性にも長けており、昔から竹の皮でおにぎりを包んで持ち運んだり、肉や和菓子の包材として使われてきました。そのしなやかさと丈夫さから、使い道は無限だったことでしょう。

日本の竹細工は縄文時代の遺跡から竹の道具が出土するほど長い歴史があります。平安時代には茶人に愛され、茶杓や茶筅などの竹細工が茶席には欠かせない道具になりました。その他にも花器や仏具などその技巧の美しさから美術品としても注目されました。江戸時代には日本各地で竹細工が作られるようになり、繊細で美しい日本の竹細工は今日まで受け継がれ、海外でも人気です。

エコ素材としての竹の話に戻りますが、使えなくなった竹製品は竹炭などへのリサイクルが可能で、竹炭としての役割を終えれば、土にかえって新たな資源を育てます。

またふつうの木は一度伐採すると、育成に数十年かかりますが、竹は人口肥料や農薬が不要で三年で成木になり、伐採した切株から新たに再生成長するため持続的な資源供給が可能であるとのこと。さらに二酸化炭素も吸収するとか。まさに地球を救うために存在するのではないかとさえ思えてきます。

先ほどのTVの続きですが、海に流れ出たプラスチックは泥や藻類が付着し重くなって沈むそうです。黒潮の流れが滞る四国沖７００㎞、水深６０００ｍの深海を調査すると、ブラスチック製品がそのままの形で沈んでいたとか。温度も低く紫外線も届かないため劣化せず１００年は残るそうです。いずれプラスチックの化石ができるのではともいわれており、恐ろしい限りです。

まだまだ意識の低い私。行動に移さないといけません。

Perhaps it is because of the too-short fall, but I feel like there are many clothes that I have not had a chance to wear. These days, I feel the climate change of the earth with my body.

The other day I saw a shocking image of plastic products drifting in the deep sea on TV. The amount of plastic that has washed into the ocean so far is a staggering 25 million tons. Japan has the second largest amount of plastic packaging waste per capita in the world.

Bamboo is one of the sustainable materials that are now attracting attention. Various products from toothbrushes and mugs to construction materials seem to be made from bamboo.

In this store, too, there are wonderful bamboo crafts made in the ancient way of using bamboo. The shape is beautiful and well-proportioned, but the lines running horizontally are slanted, and if you look at the design, you can see that the lines are slanted. If it is a design, it shows a sense and attention to detail. There is a hanging bracket on the back so it can be hung on the wall.

The original bluish color has changed to a deep brown, and it has become shiny and tasteful.

Bamboo is deeply familiar to the Japanese people, and they can think of many things to use it for: kadomatsu, deer scarecrows, bamboo horses, bamboo dragonflies, bamboo swords, bows, flowing somen noodles, etc. It grows quickly and is easily available. Bamboo grows quickly, is readily available, and has excellent air permeability and antibacterial properties. Because of its flexibility and durability, its uses must have been unlimited.

Bamboo craftsmanship in Japan has such a long history that bamboo tools have been excavated from Jomon-era ruins. During the Heian period (794-1185), bamboo crafts were loved by tea masters, and bamboo utensils such as chashaku (tea scoop) and chasen (tea whisk) became indispensable tools for the tea ceremony. Other bamboo works, such as flower vases and Buddhist altar utensils, also attracted attention as works of art due to their beautiful craftsmanship. During the Edo period (1603-1867), bamboo crafts began to be made throughout Japan, and the delicate and beautiful Japanese bamboo crafts have been handed down to this day and are popular overseas as well.

Returning to the topic of bamboo as an eco-friendly material, unusable bamboo products can be recycled into bamboo charcoal and other products, and once they have finished their role as bamboo charcoal, they are returned to the soil to grow new resources.

Bamboo, on the other hand, does not require artificial fertilizers or pesticides and grows into a mature tree in three years, and can be used as a sustainable resource because it regrows from the stump. They also absorb carbon dioxide. It seems as if the trees are there to save the earth.

Continuing from the previous TV program, it is said that plastics that flow out to the sea become heavy and sink due to the adhesion of mud and algae. A survey of the deep sea, 700 km off the coast of Shikoku at a depth of 6,000 m, where the Kuroshio Current is stagnant, revealed that plastic products have sunk in their original form. The low temperature and lack of ultraviolet rays means that they will not deteriorate and will remain in place for 100 years. It is said that plastic fossils will eventually be formed, which is frightening.

みなさまこんにちは。スタッフTでございます。

本日、この辺りの学校はお休みのようでございます。なぜなら、 愛知県が、県政150周年を記念して、今年から11月27日を「あいち県民の日」とすることなったからです。公立学校では「県民の日学校ホリデー」が実施され、11月21日から27日までの「あいちウィーク」の中で平日が1日お休みになりました。「あいちウィーク」には、親子で楽しめるイベントが行われたり、美術館や博物館などの公共施設の入場料が割引になったりするようですよ。

愛知県は今年から「県民の日」がスタートしたわけですが、「県民の日」や「都民の日」は、各都道府県が条例などで定めた記念日。必ずしも47都道府県すべてにあるわけではなく、現在制定されているのは愛知県を含め、19都道府県なんだそうです。郷土の歴史や文化を見つめ直し、郷土に対する理解と関心を深め、ふるさとを愛する心を育むことなどを目的として制定されているようです。

せっかくなので、県民らしく、愛知県について調べてみました。

愛知県は、律令体制以前は、尾張（木曽川・庄内川地方）、三河（西三河の矢作川地方）、穂（東三河の豊川地方）の3地域に分かれていましたが、律令制下では、尾張・三河の2国となり、江戸時代まで続きました。
明治4（1871）年の廃藩置県の後、12県（名古屋県・西尾県・岡崎県・豊橋県・犬山県・重原県・刈谷県・挙母県・半原県・西端県・田原県・西大平県）が置かれ、同年11月に尾張（知多郡を除く）は名古屋県に、三河と尾張の知多郡は額田県となり、明治5（1872）年4月に名古屋県は愛知県と改められ、同年11月27日に額田県を廃して愛知県の管轄に移し、永く続いた尾張国、三河国は愛知県として統合されました。
当時、県内には2,900を超える町や村がありましたが、明治の大合併、昭和の大合併を経て、昭和45（1970）年には市町村数は88となりました。その後30年以上、市町村数に変動はありませんでしたが、平成の合併により平成15（2003）年以降、新たに19件の市町村合併があり、市町村数は54（38市14町2村）となっています。

「あいち」の地名の由来は、万葉集巻三の高市黒人の歌「桜田へ鶴鳴き渡る年魚市潟（あゆちがた）潮干にけらし鶴鳴き渡る」に詠まれている、「年魚市潟（あゆちがた）」の「あゆち」が「あいち」に転じたと言われています。
廃藩置県後、県庁が愛知郡の名古屋城内に置かれたところから県名に採用されました。

県の花は「カキツバタ」、県の木は「ハナノキ」。「ハナノキ」は愛知県を中心とした中部地方にのみ自生するムクロジ科の落葉樹です。北設楽郡豊根村の茶臼山山麓にある「川宇連ハナノキ自生地」は、国の天然記念物に指定されています。(内容を愛知県HPより引用しています)

「県民の日」は新しい場所に行くきっかけになり、新しい発見につながるかもしれませんね。

It seems that schools around here are closed today. This is because Aichi Prefecture has designated November 27th as “Aichi Prefectural Citizens’ Day” to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the prefectural government. Public schools will have one weekday off during “Aichi Week” from November 21 to 27. During “Aichi Week,” there will be events for parents and children to enjoy together, and admission fees to museums and other public facilities will be discounted.

Aichi Prefecture started “Prefectural Citizens’ Day” this year, but “Prefectural Citizens’ Day” and “Metropolitan Citizens’ Day” are commemorative days set by each prefecture by ordinance. Not all 47 prefectures have such days, but currently 19 prefectures, including Aichi Prefecture, have established them. The purpose of this day is to review the history and culture of the hometown, to deepen understanding and interest in the hometown, and to nurture a love for the hometown.

Since I am a resident of the prefecture, I looked up Aichi Prefecture.

Before the Ritsuryo system, Aichi Prefecture was divided into three regions: Owari (Kiso River and Shonai River regions), Mikawa (Yahagigawa River region in West Mikawa), and Hoto (Toyokawa region in East Mikawa), but under the Ritsuryo system, it became two provinces, Owari and Mikawa, which continued until the Edo period.
After the abolition of feudal domains in 1871, 12 prefectures (Nagoya, Nishio, Okazaki, Toyohashi, Inuyama, Shigehara, Kariya, Katemo, Hanbara, Nishibata, Tahara, and Nishi Ohira) were established, and in November of the same year Owari (excluding Chita County) became Nagoya Prefecture, while Mikawa and Owari’s Chita County became Nukata Prefecture, and in April 1872 In April 1872, Nagoya Prefecture was renamed Aichi Prefecture, and on November 27 of the same year, Nukata Prefecture was abolished and transferred to the jurisdiction of Aichi Prefecture, and the long-standing provinces of Owari and Mikawa were consolidated as Aichi Prefecture.
At that time, there were more than 2,900 towns and villages in the prefecture, but after the great mergers of the Meiji and Showa periods, the number of municipalities reached 88 in 1970. The prefectural flower is the kakitsubata, and the prefectural tree is the hananoki. The “Hananoki” is a deciduous tree of the Mukuroji family that grows naturally only in the Chubu region centering on Aichi Prefecture. The “Kawauren Hananoki Autonomous Area” located at the foot of Mt. Chausu in Toyone-mura, Kitashitara-gun, is designated as a national natural monument. (Quoted from the Aichi Prefecture website)

みなさまこんにちは、スタッフＹでございます。

いいお天気ですね。本日も東山の紅葉の中を走り抜けて通勤してまいりました。通り抜ける際に、朝日がちょうど紅葉を照らし出し、ぱっと色鮮やかな紅葉が目の前にあらわれ大変気持ちのいい通勤でありました。今朝のTVでも京都の清水寺のライトアップの様子を見ておりましたが、あまりの人の多さにちょっと近づける感じではありませんでしたが、暗闇の中ライトアップが点灯し、ＴＶ越しではありますが圧巻でありましたね。

さてさて、昨日なのですがTVにて「蘭奢待」を取り上げておりまして大変面白かったです。

「蘭奢待」について以前HPにて呟いたことがあったのですが、それにしても「名香」こそ歴史的に有名な宝物を前にし、その価値たるは何ぞや？と最も自分を試されている気がしてなりません。要するに、知識予習をしたためて臨みませんと、何も知らない状態で「黒焦げた木」を前に、スルーするのみといった残念なことが起こりかねないのです。

「蘭奢待」はありがたいことに、たしか4年位前に一度実際に拝見するチャンスがありまして。

しかし、あまり知識もなく有名な武将や天皇が取りだした切口を眺め「すごい」ことはわかったのですが、先日のＴＶを見てからあの名香を拝見したのなら、大きな黒焦げた木を前に、にわかですが知識や情報というフィルター越しに想像力を奮い立たせ、この名香越しにみえてくる歴史な景色がもっと実感できたのにな…。と、今になって後悔が増してきます。

歴史的に有名なものを拝見する際には、せっかくのチャンスを大切にするべく知識は少しでもしたためていかねば、と、昨日は本当に思いました。

私の後悔はいったん置いておくとして、そんなことよりも、「蘭奢待」のその価値は歴史的背景もさることながら、その「名物の香」として香木そのものも由緒正しく、香りとしても最上級の価値があるようです。歴史の行方をも左右するほどの香り、いったいどんなものなのでしょうか。

先日のTVですと、しばしば、数々の名香を数で区切って、佐々木道誉の百八十種名香や、山上宗二の十種名香のように○○種名香と呼ばれることがあるのですが、その中でも、足利義政の命により、志野流香道の始祖である志野宗信、御家流香道三条西実隆が選んだといわれるのが「六十一種名香」。

六十一種の名香は、選ばれた現在も伝わっている香木でして、その中に法隆寺（全浅香）、東大寺（蘭奢待）などが筆頭に挙げられております。いわれも由緒正しいながら、これらの名香は、伽羅・羅国・真南蛮・真那伽・佐曽羅・寸門陀羅の六つに分類し、さらにその香りを酸（すっぱい）・苦（にがい）・甘（あまい）・辛（からい）・鹹（塩辛い）の五つの味で表現したところ、香木ごとに特徴は違うとは思いますが、すべての香りがこれらに含まれるパーフェクトな香りのようであるようです。

ますます名香の香りが気になりますね。

そんな中、昨年ですが芝の増上寺にて献香式を執りおこなわれたことは記憶に新しく、そこで炷（た）かれるのが、志野流に初代より“家木（かぼく）”として伝わる天下の名香“蘭奢待”でありました。そのお家元の、香りを聞いた蜂谷宗玄氏によりますと「今の自分ではなんとも言いあらわせれない重厚な香りですので、３０年後にもう一度訪ねてほしい。」とのことでした。

蘭奢待がこれまでたどってきた１０００年以上の歳月とそのパーフェクトな香りを形容するには聞く側にもそれを受け止める器が必要になってくるということなのでしょうか。

なにせ、足利義政や織田信長が聞いた同じ香りなのですから、私が仮にも香りを聞くことが出来たのなら、想像力が増し増しで間違いなく普通のメンタルではなく、聞くどころではなくなりそうですね。

It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it? Today, I drove through the autumn leaves in the Higashiyama area on my way to work. The morning sun was shining on the leaves as I passed by, and it was a pleasant morning. This morning, I saw the lighting up of Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto on TV. There were so many people that I could not get close to the temple, but the lights came on in the darkness, and it was breathtaking, even through the TV.

Yesterday, the TV program “Lanjiajitai” was featured on TV, and it was very interesting.

I have already muttered about “Lanjatai” on my homepage before, but I felt that “Meika” was a historically famous treasure in front of me, and I wondered what was the value of it. I felt like I was being tested the most. In short, if you do not go to the exhibition with a thorough knowledge of the subject, you may be disappointed to find that you can only pass by the “blackened wood” in front of you without knowing anything about it.

Thankfully, I had a chance to see “Lanjitie” in person about four years ago.

However, if I had seen the famous fragrance after watching the TV program the other day, I would have been able to see the big black charred tree, and my imagination would have been stimulated through the filter of knowledge and information, and I would have been able to feel the historical view through this famous fragrance more. I would have been able to experience more of the historical scenery through the Meika…. I regret that I did not have the chance to see the famous historical sites. Yesterday, I really thought that I should have made the most of the opportunity to visit famous historical sites by learning as much as I could about them.

Putting my regrets aside for the moment, the value of “Lanjatai” is not only its historical background, but also the fragrance of the tree itself, which is a “famous fragrance” with a venerable history and the highest value as a scent. What kind of fragrance is this that can even influence the course of history?

According to the TV program that I saw the other day, many famous fragrances are often divided by numbers and called “XX kinds of famous fragrances,” such as 180 kinds of famous fragrances by Sasaki Doyo and 10 kinds of famous fragrances by Yamagami Soji. The 61 great fragrances were selected by Shino Munenobu, the founder of the Shino school of kodo, and Sanenishi Sanetaka, the founder of the Oke school of kodo.

The 61 famous fragrances are fragrant woods that are still handed down today, and among them, Horyuji Temple (Zen Asaka) and Todaiji Temple (Ranjatai) are listed at the top of the list. The fragrances are classified into six categories: Kyara, Raguo, Shinanban, Managa, Sasora, and Sumondara, and the fragrances are expressed in terms of five tastes: sour, bitter, sweet, spicy, and salty. Although the characteristics of each fragrant tree may differ, it seems that all fragrances have a perfect aroma that includes these five tastes.

I am becoming more and more interested in the fragrance of great fragrances.

Last year, Zojoji temple in Shiba held an aroma offering ceremony, where they offered the famous aroma “Lanjatai”, which has been handed down in the Shino school as “Kaboku” since the first generation. The aroma was “Ranjatai”, the most famous incense in the world. Sogen Hachiya, who heard the Iemoto’s fragrance, said, “It is a profound fragrance that I cannot describe now, so I would like you to visit again in 30 years. I would like you to visit again in 30 years.

To describe the more than 1,000 years that Lanjatai has been in existence and its perfect fragrance, the listener must have the capacity to receive it.

If I were able to listen to the fragrance, my imagination would be heightened and I would definitely not be able to listen to it with my normal mentality.

今朝は少し気温が上がり、暖かい日差しが気持ちよかったです。

寒さが苦手な生き物が店内にもう一匹。こちらの気品あるシャム猫は日本画の巨匠、奥村土牛（おくむら とぎゅう）のリトグラフです。写生を重んじ、伝統的な日本画の技法とフランス印象派の新たな波を融合させた作風といわれています。

「写実の極まりは抽象であると思っている」という土牛の言葉の通り、シャム猫のしなやかな体の曲線をシンプルな線で描き、毛並みの美しさを色彩のみで表現しています。尻尾の先まで体温を感じます。

絵の具の薄塗を重ね、時には１５０回も色を重ねながら、それでいて薄く透明に見えるという独特の技法を使うことで知られています。優しく温かみのある印象はこの薄く淡い色の重なりによるものかもしれません。また写実へのこだわりも強く、犬や猫の他に軍鶏、はやぶさ、カラスまで飼っていたとのこと。家族は大変だったでしょうね。

１０１歳で亡くなるまでに多くの作品を残しました。「描くことを分かりかけてきたと思ったら１００歳になっていた。」とのこと。まさに巨匠の言葉。重みがあります。

ところでリトグラフという技術ですが、ぼんやりとしか分かっていなかったので調べてみました。

リトグラフは１８世紀末にドイツのアロイス・ゼネフェルダーにより考案された版画の技法で日本には幕末に伝わりました。版画の中でも美しい線やタッチを表現でき、豊かな色彩表現が可能です。その分難しい技法でもあり手間もかかります。

リトグラフは別名「石版画」とも呼ばれ、版材にはもともとリトグラフの語源にもなった石灰石が使われています。「リト」はギリシャ語で「石」の意味です。現在は版材として軽くて持ち運びのしやすいアルミ板が主に用いられています。

手順としては版材に油性の描画材を使って直接絵柄を描き、その上に科学的な処理を施すことで絵柄の部分だけがインクを引き寄せ、その他の部分は水分によってインクを弾くことを利用して製版し紙に刷り取る版画技法です。

朝ドラ「らんまん」で主人公がまさに石版印刷に挑戦していましたね。

この製版が正確に行わなければ作品は仕上がらず、しかも多色版画では使う色の数だけ分版しなければなりません。しっかりした下絵と正確な製版技術、確実な刷りの技術が重要になります。

私には気の遠くなるような作業に思えます。

またリトグラフは無制限に刷られるものではなく、製作される枚数を決め、ナンバーを入れることによりその価値を守っています。

好きな作家の作品を手頃な価格で手に入れ、手元に置き、いつでも楽しむことができるのも先人の知恵のお陰なのですね。

There is one more creature in the store that does not like the cold. This graceful Siamese cat is a lithograph by Okumura Togyu, a master of Japanese painting. His style is said to be a fusion of traditional Japanese painting techniques and the new wave of French Impressionism, with an emphasis on sketching.

As Do-gyu said, “I believe that the ultimate in realism is abstraction,” the supple curves of the Siamese cat’s body are depicted with simple lines, and the beauty of its fur is expressed only with color. It seems as if you can feel the body warmth all the way to the tip of the tail.

He is known for using a unique technique of layering thin coats of paint, sometimes 150 times, while still making the colors appear thin and transparent. The gentle, warm impression may be due to these thin, pale layers of color. He also had a strong commitment to realism, and in addition to dogs and cats, he kept a war chicken, a Hayabusa, and even a crow. It must have been difficult for his family.

He left many works before his death at the age of 101. He said, “I was 100 years old when I thought I was starting to understand how to paint.” He was 100 years old when he started to understand how to paint. These are the words of a true master. They have weight.

By the way, I had only a vague understanding of the technique of lithography, so I looked it up.

Lithography is a printing technique invented by Alois Senefelder in Germany at the end of the 18th century and introduced to Japan at the end of the Edo period. Among prints, lithograph can express beautiful lines and touch, and rich colors are possible. However, it is also a difficult and time-consuming technique.

Lithography is also known as “lithography,” and limestone, from which the word “lithograph” is derived, is used as the printing medium. The word “litho” means “stone” in Greek. Currently, aluminum plates, which are light and easy to carry, are mainly used as plate materials.

The process is to draw a design directly on the plate using oil-based drawing materials, and then apply a scientific treatment on it.

The main character in the morning TV drama “Ranman” tried his hand at lithography.

The printmaking process must be accurate in order for the work to be finished, and in the case of multicolor prints, the prints must be divided according to the number of colors to be used. It is important to have a solid sketch, accurate plate-making techniques, and reliable printing skills.

It seems like a daunting task to me.

Also, lithographs are not printed in unlimited quantities, and the number of copies produced is determined and numbered to protect their value.

It is thanks to the wisdom of our ancestors that we are able to acquire the works of our favorite artists at affordable prices, keep them with us, and enjoy them at any time.

みなさまこんにちは、スタッフYでございます。

本日の名古屋は快晴。絶好の紅葉日和であります。先ほども通りかかったとある公園の紅葉を画像におさめました。私のこの拙いカメラスキルでまあまあ綺麗に撮れておりますので、携帯とこのお天気には感謝しなくてはなりませんね。

ところでこの画像ですが、こちらの公園は東山動植物園と同じく千種区でありますが、となると、東山植物園の紅葉はさぞかしピークを迎えていることでしょうか。

そうなんです。現在東山動植物園では、恒例の「もみじ狩り」を開催しております。

紅葉や秋を楽しむイベントを土日祝中心に開催しており、「紅葉ライトアップ」も同時に開催。

もみじ狩りは、令和5年11月11日(土)から12月3日(日)まで。（月曜日は休園日）会期中の紅葉ライトアップは、令和5年11月17日(金)、18日(土)、19日(日)、23日(木・祝)、24日(金)、25日(土)、26日(日)　に開催中でして、（上記期間中、植物園エリアの一部を20時30分まで開園延長）ライトアップはこの週末が最終週になりますので、チャンスです。

東山動物園はあのゴリラのシャバーニやフクロテナガザルのケイジなどで全国でも人気な動物園になっておりますが、お名前は「東山動植物園」でありまして、隣接している「植物園」も、その広さ、施設の大きさなどなどそれはそれはすごいんです。

こちらの植物園の紅葉は例年11月中旬から植物園の紅葉がスタートし、自然な東山の地形をそのまま生かした名古屋市内とは思えない山野のようなダイナミックな景色が魅力でして、さらに全国でも数少ない大規模な逆さモミジが見れるスポットでもあります。夜にはいっそう美しさを増す奥地のモミジも見逃せません。

また、植物園にある日本庭園「也有園(やゆうえん)」から奥地までの園路沿いには、紅葉樹約60種類200本がトンネルのようにつらなっており、美しい昼の紅葉も要チェックであります。

他県から名古屋へ観光にてお越しの皆さま、名古屋駅から東山線に乗って18分。シャバーニにも会えて、あのダイナミックな紅葉のライトアップも一緒に鑑賞できますので、この時期東山動植物園、名古屋人からおススメであります。

It is a beautiful sunny day in Nagoya today. It is a perfect day for autumn leaves. I took some pictures of the autumn leaves in a park I passed by a few days ago. I must thank my cell phone and the weather for taking such beautiful pictures with my poor camera skills.

By the way, this park is located in Chikusa Ward as well as Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden, which means that the autumn leaves in Higashiyama Botanical Garden must be at their peak.

Yes, it is. Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden is currently holding its annual “Maple Viewing” event.

The event is held mainly on weekends and holidays to enjoy autumn leaves and autumn, and the “Autumn Leaves Light-up” is held at the same time.

Maple-viewing is held from November 11 (Sat.) to December 3 (Sun.), 2023. (The park is closed on Mondays.) The autumn foliage lighting will be held on November 17 (Fri.), 18 (Sat.), 19 (Sun.), 23 (Thu., holiday), 24 (Fri.), 25 (Sat.), 26 (Sun.), 2023. This weekend is the last week to see the lights up, so it is a good chance to take advantage of it.

Higashiyama Zoo is a popular zoo in Japan for its gorilla Shabani and capuchin Cage, but its name is “Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden” and the adjacent “Botanical Garden” is also impressive in terms of its size and facilities.

The botanical garden is also very impressive in terms of size and facilities. The autumn foliage in the botanical garden usually starts in mid-November, and the natural Higashiyama topography is utilized to create a dynamic mountain-like landscape that one would not expect to see in Nagoya City. The maple trees in the backcountry, which are even more beautiful at night, are also not to be missed.

Also, be sure to check out the beautiful daytime autumn foliage along the path from the Japanese garden “Yayuen” in the Botanical Garden to the inner area, where 200 maple trees of about 60 varieties are arranged like a tunnel.

For visitors coming to Nagoya from other prefectures, it is only an 18-minute ride on the Higashiyama Line from Nagoya Station. You can meet Shabani and enjoy the dynamic illumination of the autumn leaves at the same time.
