Hello everyone. Staff N.

Today is the end of February, isn’t it?

I was excited about Valentine’s Day, but it’s already March.

The other day, I was surprised when an acquaintance told me that he had a tooth that grew 180 degrees.

It seems that it is a twisted tooth, but it seems that the other teeth have not been corrected because they have grown beautifully.

It’s strange that the back and front are turned over beautifully by turning sideways and growing.

When I told other people about it, they seemed to think it was a vertical rotation, and they made a funny face.

Every time I move, I start going to a new dentist nearby, but the dentist I used to go to was so amazing that I still spend hours going there.

I was able to see the tooth with the latest X-ray there, which was said to be a decayed tooth, but it was said that it could not be seen unless it was opened.

I knew that if I hadn’t been there, I would have been in serious trouble, so I wanted to come here all the time.

There is a check-up every three months, so it is difficult to go there, but it seems to be normal in Europe.

The average number of remaining teeth at the age of 70 is 20 in Sweden, compared to 8 in Japan.

It’s not even a tooth day, but I suddenly remembered it, so I wrote it.

The other day, I went to the bonfire festival held at Higashibetsuin.

One of the joys of camping is the bonfire.

There are probably many people who are healed by spending time watching the flickering flames.

Garage brands and shops gathered at this event.

While making a bonfire, I was able to enjoy food trucks, massages, and handmade experiences.

The highlight of this event is “UNO Bonfire Street”.

In the precincts of the main hall, there are about 20 bonfire stands of various types, including garage brands.

You can sit on my chair or on the benches provided and enjoy a relaxing time around the bonfire.

I went early, so I couldn’t sit around the bonfire and relax, but I enjoyed fried chicken and stylish potatoes.

Even though the bonfire is the main event! It seems like it would be said, but N couldn’t help but look at the rice.

I was still able to eat, but an acquaintance told me that I would not be able to eat dinner, like her mother, so I gave up.

N doesn’t go camping, so I didn’t know much about the tools, but there were antique lamps and other items, which were very cute.

I researched the history of bonfires.

It seems that the remains of the bonfire remain in the ruins of Peking Man.

From the condition of the ash at the ruins, it is confirmed that they had devised ways to keep the fire going, and that they had bonfires on a daily basis.

Approximately 500,000 to 400,000 years ago.

Traces of furnaces have also been found in Neanderthal remains from 300,000 years ago.

A bonfire serves as both a heat source and a light source.

In order to make a bonfire well, you need to acquire a mental structure that is not afraid of fire, understand the nature of fire, know the right timing to add firewood, and perform a series of tasks properly.

It is speculated that the ancestors of mankind developed bonfire technology through the following stages.

Age of the Ape Man: Overcoming Fear of Fire and Observing and Experimenting.
Ape-man to primitive man: understanding the properties of fire and discovering its uses.
Prehistoric times: Establishment of fire preservation and daily use by bonfires.

Opportunities for observation and experimentation include accidental or inevitable encounters with wildfires caused by lightning strikes or wind-driven spontaneous combustion, as well as active approach to volcanic craters and lava.

It is believed that the invention of ignition technology and the improvement of ignition technology were made during the Cro-Magnon era.

Traces of bonfires in Japan date back to the Paleolithic period (approximately 18,000 to 16,000 years ago) and have been found in caves in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture.

The first documentary appearance is Hodokoro Taki in “Ten Gokutsu no Jo” in Nihonshoki.

In addition, there is a description of the ancient language of the Heian period, “Tei sankyote,” and there is a similar description in the Ryogikai.

During the nighttime ceremonies of the imperial courts and shrines of this period, it was common to dig a hole in the garden as a fire place, pile up pine firewood, and light a fire.

The Japanese consider bonfires to be a seasonal tradition from late autumn to winter, and have been used to incinerate fallen leaves and dead trees in home gardens, temple precincts, and other public places.

Because they thought that it would be a waste to just burn it, they had a culture of grilling and eating sweet potatoes, rice cakes, mandarin oranges, and chestnuts.

Bonfires held on New Year’s Eve in the precincts of temples and shrines are still enjoyed by people with an atmosphere that has not changed in the past.

In haiku, “bonfire/bonfire” means “morning bonfire”, “evening bonfire”, “night bonfire”, and “bonfire trace”. is a season word for three winters.

In addition, “Fallen leaves/Fallen leaves (Ochiba)”, “Fallen leaves/Fallen leaves/Fallen leaves (Ochibataki)”, and “Fallen leaves/Fallen leaves (Ochibataku)” are three winter season words.

No bonfire, if it’s about to be extinguished, Kyoshi Takahama will be brought up

Also, the nursery rhyme “Takibi” is famous for being familiar to Japanese people, especially in the Showa generation.

Certainly, there were people who did it for the first time in everything they did, so I’m very curious what the first person who saw fire thought.

If you don’t know fire and see fire for the first time, do you think it’s beautiful or scary?

If you see the swaying fire, you might think like Calcifer, the fire demon from Howl’s Moving Castle.

N likes events, so if you have something nice like a bonfire festival, please let me know.

At Antique Fukousha, we also purchase lamps and other items.

Hello everyone. This is staff M.

Only two days left in February. I had an image that February would end in a blink of an eye, but this year I felt that way. I feel like every year.Just as there is a play on words, “Inuru ni getsu nigeru san getsu saru” (inur ni getsu ni geru san getsu saru), “January goes away, February runs away, and March leaves.” I guess it’s gone… I want to cherish every moment.

Recently, I often see tulips on social media and at local flower shops. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and I get excited when I see them as they signal the arrival of spring. Brightly colored flowers such as red, yellow, white, pink, and orange bloom, and early blooming flowers start blooming around March. Because it always overlaps with the cherry blossom season, the world is talking about cherry blossom viewing, but tulips are the main protagonist of spring.

I will explain a little about the types and characteristics of such tulips. The name tulip is derived from the shape of the flower, which resembles a turban wrapped around the head. It is a bulbous plant from which Many wild species have been found in the region from Turkey to Central Asia, and it is said that there are more than 100 original species alone. To date, many varieties have been produced, and more than 5,000 varieties have been registered.

Regardless of color, the flower language of tulips is said to be “compassion” and “benevolence,” but in fact, it seems that there is a deeper flower language depending on the color. I will introduce you to some of the things I investigated.

Red tulip: “true love”, “confession of love”

White Tulip: “Lost Love”, “New Love”

Yellow tulips: “fame”, “hopeless love”

Orange Tulip: “Shyness”

Pink tulips: “Blooming Love”, “Sincere Love”

Black Tulip: “Forget Me”

Purple tulip: ‘immortal love’, ‘eternal love’

Some flowers have a bright impression, while others have a slightly negative meaning, so be careful when giving them as a gift.

Also, just like roses, tulips have different meanings depending on the number of gifts. Since the explanation of the number is a little long, I will omit it in this blog, but it is very romantic and I would like to receive it by color and number.

Hello everyone. This is Staff Y.

It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Nagoya, but there is a cold wind that stings your cheeks. I’m not Staff M, but I thought it was still too early for spring clothes. Therefore, I checked the ume (plum) festival tour that I have been planning since the other day, and found that the blossoms were still in their third half. Since I have waited this long, I am thinking of getting in a little later, but it looks like the best time to see the ume blossoms will be in March.

By the way, I passed by a certain national university on my way to work today, and I noticed that there were some people standing around. Yes, it seems that today is the day of many national universities’ second examinations.

I have been sending cheers to my friend’s child by e-mail since this morning, and even I am getting somewhat nervous. Anyway, I am sure that both you and your child’s mother must be relieved that he/she was able to take the exam so far without any weather anxiety and without getting sick. I hope that the children will believe in what they have done so far and give it their all.

Although it has been decades since I last sat for an exam, I am sure there are many people who still recall memories of the joys and sorrows of the past at this time of the year. I, too, remember what I said to my friend the day before the exam, the color of the coat I wore on the day of the exam, and the sound of the delivery truck when I was waiting for the notification of acceptance or rejection by mail. I still remember the sound of the delivery bike I used to ride when I was young. (I mustn’t mention the result of the test…lol…)

This is just one example of how things fade away as we grow older, but when I look at young people as adults, I am dazzled by everything they do, including taking the examinations. For the young people in question, there may have been fun, pain, and frustration, but from an adult’s point of view, it all seems to be in the midst of a dazzling glitter.

The fact that you, the students in the midst of all this glitter, were able to stand on this stage of the examination is even more amazing than any of that, so please take pride in being able to stand here today and face the exam. Even though I am a total stranger to you, I will be cheering for you from afar.

Good bye, and have a good day.

Hello everyone, this is Staff N.

Yesterday, I went bouldering for the first time in a while.

Bouldering is a kind of climbing, and it is a sport that climbs rocks and artificial walls with the minimum equipment.

It is said that the origin of the word is English, meaning “mass of rock” or “big round rock”.

That’s why my arms are sore right now.

I had a hard time opening the shop shutters and plastic bottles again this morning.

An acquaintance who did bouldering for the first time said, “It’s fun, but my arms hurt so much that I don’t want to do it anymore.”

I’m sure there will be people who overcome this muscle pain and win the fun.

When N forgot about the pain in his arm, he climbed up again and repeatedly remembered it.

The regulars and staff climb up the stairs so easily that it looks easy, but I panic because I don’t know where to put my feet or what to do with my hands.

As for the store clerk, he had to climb up to put a sign or sticker on the wall, so the work seemed to be very difficult.

Speaking of climbing, I’m reminded of the documentary film “Free Solo,” which won numerous awards, including the 91st Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, which grossed $21 million at the box office.

Rock climber Alex Honnold’s free solo climbing challenge to El Capitan in June 2017 is summarized.

Alex now has a wife and kids, but no amount of hearts would be enough to wait for his husband to come and go.

The other day, he was doing a Crazy Journey feature about a man who is exploring an unexplored cave. rice field.

Sure, there are some things that she might be better off not knowing because she’s worried.

I wanted to watch it over and over again, but I felt so sweaty in his hands that I didn’t want to see it anymore.

I have never seen a documentary film that made me feel so nervous.

When I was wondering if there was anything that could combine bouldering with antiques, a stone plate came up.

Ishizara (English: Metate or mealing stone) is a dish-shaped polished stone tool that is thought to have been used for the purpose of grinding grains and nuts.

It is found in various parts of the world, including Japan and China, and in North and Central America it is called “metate”.

Place nuts such as walnuts on a stone plate and break them with a hammer.

The hammering stone becomes hollow as it is used.

Grind the nuts with a grindstone.

The surface of the grinding stone becomes smoother as it is used.

The material is mainly andesite, sandstone, etc., and the stone core of river stones is often used as the material.

They were unearthed throughout the entire Jomon period, when sedentary settlements were widespread, and many were unearthed at settlement sites from the early period onwards.

There is also a famous stylish plate shop in Kakuozan.

When you visit Kakuozan, please stop by the Antique Fukousha.

See you soon

Hello everyone, this is Staff Y.

This is a small matter, but yesterday I bought strawberries at a supermarket and was taking them home in my car, carefully sitting in the passenger seat. I was surprised at how strong the aroma of a pack of strawberries was, but it was nice to drive for a while, surrounded by the happy aroma.

One of the best things about spring is that we can receive the news from the fragrance as well. Perhaps it is because it is the time of transition from the harsh winter, but even something as trivial as this makes me somewhat happy.

Speaking of news from fragrances, the other day I was talking with a friend about ume (Japanese apricots).

Talking about ume with a friend, it seems that here in Aichi Prefecture, there are quite a few ume spots. I was a little, no, very curious, so I looked them up.

☞ Otaka Ryokuchi Ume Festival (Nagoya City)

About 400 flowering ume trees of 15 varieties planted in Odaka Ryokuchi will be in full bloom.

Period: Saturday, Sunday, and holidays only from February 18 (Sat.) to March 5 (Sun.), 2023
Best viewing time: late February to early March
Hours: 10:00-15:00
Place:Odaka Ryokuchi Japanese-style garden and plum grove area

☞ Nagoya City Agricultural Center delaFUMU Shidare Ume 2023 (Nagoya City)

Visitors can freely view and enjoy approximately 700 weeping plum trees of 12 varieties, one of the largest in Japan. We visited last year and regretted that it was a little early in the season. You have to check the blooming time frequently.

Holding period:February 23 (Thursday, national holiday) to March 21 (Tuesday, national holiday), 2023
Opening hours: 9:00-16:30
Location:Nagoya City Agricultural Center delaFUMU

☞ Plum Blossom Festival at Ogata Shrine Plum Blossom Garden (Inuyama City)

The “Plum Blossom Festival” is held from mid-February to March in the precincts of Ogata Shrine, where 340 red and white weeping plum trees are in full bloom.

Period: February 19 (Sun) to March 19 (Sun), 2023
Period: February 19 (Sun.) to March 19 (Sun.), 2023 * The period may change depending on blooming conditions.
Place of the festival:Ogata Shrine Ume Garden

☞ 17th Inazawa Ume Festival (Inazawa City)

The ume variety garden at the Aichi Ume Planting Center boasts 104 unique species of ume in bloom on its grounds, making it a very valuable sample garden in Japan. New varieties are anxious to be seen.

Holding period:March 4 (Sat.) and 5 (Sun.), 2023
Opening hours: 9:30-16:00
Place of the event:Aichi Planting Center

☞ The 32nd Saburi Pond Ume Festival (Chita City)

The other day, we tweeted on our website about the Ume Festival at Saburi Pond in Saburi, Chita City. Around 6,000 plum trees of 25 varieties are planted around the Saburi Pond, and the beautiful flowers bloom from mid-February to mid-March. (I have decided to visit here this year.)

Period: February 11 (Sat.) to March 12 (Sun.), 2023
(Light-up will be held from February 23 (Thu., holiday) to March 5 (Sun.), 2023)
Place: Saburi Ike Plum Grove, Saburi Midori to Hana no Fureai Park

☞ Minami Park Ume Festival (Okazaki City)

The annual early spring Ume Festival is held in Minami Park, where approximately 200 plum trees of 20 varieties bloom in the Aoi Plum Grove. This year, the festival is definitely crowded due to the “What to do with Ieyasu” effect.

Period: February 11 (Sat., holiday) to March 5 (Sun.), 2023
Period: February 11 (Sat., holiday) to March 5 (Sun.), 2023 * The period may change depending on the blooming of the plum trees.
Location:Minami Park Aoi Plum Grove

☞ Iwatsu Tenmangu Shrine Plum Blossom Festival (Okazaki City)

As you know, Tenjin-san and plum blossoms are a set. Iwazu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, is well known as the god of learning, and visitors come to pray for higher education all year round. From February to late March each year, approximately 400 red, white, and weeping plum trees are in full bloom. I visited the shrine in the past when it was not the ume season, but I remember that I was glad to wear sneakers because the shrine was located on the top of a mountain.

Period:Early February to mid-March
Place of the festival:Iwazu Tenmangu Shrine

☞ Hira Shibakoen Plum Blossom Festival (Toyota City)

The vast 62,800-square-meter Hirashiba Park is home to approximately 530 ume trees of 37 varieties, including kan-kohaku ume. Since the blooming time differs depending on the species, ume blossoms can be seen for a long period of time from mid-February to mid-March.

Holding period:Mid-February to mid-March
Place of the festival:Hirashiba Park

☞ Spring Festival (Ume) Plum Orchard in Mukaiyama Ryokuchi (Toyohashi City)

Spring Festival is held from early February to early March when 29 varieties of early, mid, and late-blooming ume (Japanese apricot), about 400 trees, are in full bloom.

Period: February 3 (Fri.) to March 5 (Sun.), 2023
Event date: Sunday, February 19
Hours:Free to walk around
Event hours: 10:00 – 15:00

Place of the event:Ume-rinen in Mukoyama Ryokuchi

☞ Akatsukayama Park Plum Blossom Festival (Toyokawa City)

Akatsukayama Park is located on Mt. Akatsukayama, known for its native mountain peaches. 281 plum trees of 25 varieties are planted in the 4900 m2 plum garden, and many plum trees, including early-blooming Fuyuki and Kanken-bai plum trees and late-blooming Shidare-bai and Bungo plum trees, are at their best from mid-February onward.
Among them, Kasugano and Aspirations, which start blooming around late February, are rare varieties with red and white flowers on a single tree.

Period: February 10 (Fri.) – March 15 (Wed.), 2023
Place of the festival:Akatsukayama Park

Ume Flower Festival (Shinshiro City)

The best time to view the ume blossoms is from early to mid March every year in the Kawase area of Shinshiro City.
Eleven farmers plant and grow approximately 1,500 ume trees of seven varieties, including Nanko.
The farmhouses are scattered among the ume trees, and the scenery of ume trees in full bloom spreading out on the slope between mountains is truly a modern-day Shangri-La.

It is one of the spots I would like to visit someday, because I can’t help but be curious when people say things like “Peach Blossom Land.

Period: February 23 (Thursday, national holiday) to March 21 (Tuesday, national holiday), 2023
Best viewing time: early to mid March every year
Place: Shinshiro City, Kawase area

Well, that’s a lot.

I couldn’t stop my curiosity and started to look it up, but now that I’m muttering about it, I’m getting restless, wanting to go see it right away…and the smell of the ume blossoms….

This morning, I was already beginning to worry about the schedule and the weather.

Have a good day.

Hello everyone. This is staff M.

The cold and strong wind was blowing yesterday, and the coldness of February was back. On the contrary, today the sunshine is warm and it is easier to spend than yesterday. Recently, there are many warm days in the daytime, and it feels like spring. ! It’s still too early to change clothes, but when I took out some light clothes from the back of the closet and tried them on, the owner said it was too early. I was a bit premature, and I realized that it was still the season to wear thick sweaters.

Today, February 22nd is Cat Day.

So, if you’re reading my blog, I’m sure there are many of you who know, but our store is full of cat-loving staff… In particular, I, Staff M, would like to write a blog today as a representative cat lover. (Although Staff N has not lost)

In fact, we currently live with two rescued cats, both of which are pheasant tigers. One is a 15 year old grandpa and the other is a 1 year old baby. In terms of human beings, the relationship between a grandpa in his late 70s and a grandson who is about the size of a hatachi and a grandfather.

After some research, I found out that the Guinness world record for the age of a cat is a cat that lived in Texas, USA, and lived to be 38 years and 3 days old! ! It is a surprising record of about 170 years old when converted to human age. I would love to know the secret to longevity.

Let’s not talk about such long-lived cats here, but the two familiar cats in our store. Is this a Siamese cat with a striking face and blue eyes, and a calico cat with a plump body? Both of them are very cute and I like them, but the calico cat’s arrogant feeling is similar to my child, and it’s irresistible and endearing.

Cats have been said to bring good luck since ancient times, and many households have at least one cat figurine like a beckoning cat. Although it is familiar to us, there may be some people who do not know the details such as its origin and production area, so let me explain a little…

Manekineko has been made all over Japan, but many of them are made in Seto ware, Tokoname ware, and Kutani ware, which are called the three major production areas. Seto-yaki beckoning cats are characterized by their fox faces, slender bodies, stooped backs, and often wearing multiple bells and pleated aprons. The Kutani ware beckoning cat is covered with richly colored patterns and is decorated with gold, giving it a gorgeous appearance. Lastly, Tokoname-yaki beckoning cat called the beckoning cat. With its eyes wide open and its rounded two-headed body holding an oval gold coin, this shape of beckoning cat is probably the beckoning cat that comes to your mind.

There are various theories about the origin of manekineko, but I would like to introduce one of them, the theory that it is the “Maneki Neko” of Gotokuji Temple in Setagaya, Tokyo. Gotokuji is now the family temple of the Ii family, but it was originally a small temple. Immediately after the priest’s pet cat invited Naotaka Ii, who was returning from falconry, to the temple, there was a severe thunderstorm. It seems that it is said.

There are still many things I want to write about, such as the profound maneki-neko, how to decorate it, and its meaning, but that will be another day. After work today, I think I’ll go straight home and give the cats some tulle to express my gratitude and kindness. By the way, my 15-year-old grandpa cat is a health-conscious type who prefers crunchy rice to tulle, so I would like to give him a little delicious crunchy food.

Hello everyone, this is Staff N.

The other day, when I drew the omikuji for the third time, I finally got great luck.

Nakakichi, Shokichi, and I wasn’t satisfied, so I was honest for the third time.

I feel like I’m forcing myself, but I’m going to spend this year as a year of great luck because I’m going to attract my own luck.

Today, when I got on the train at Manaka, my balance was 6666 yen.

Zoro eyes are rare, so when I looked into it to see if there was something special, I found something called an angel number.

What “6666” means is that you are obsessed with material things such as money and things and lose sight of the truly important “mind”, which is also a sign of a collapse of internal balance.

Once you let go of the desire to acquire things or people you can see with your own eyes, once your consciousness separates from the things you don’t have, you can turn your attention to the value and importance of the things you do have. It seems to be

You can naturally let go of your attachments, and you can unconsciously “know contentment”.

“Knowing Sufficiency” is a way of thinking about how to live a fulfilling life, as preached by the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu.

A person who knows how to be content and how to be content can keep his mind rich even if he doesn’t have anything of value or possessions.

Another word is “moderation”.

“Moderation” is a concept that the Chinese philosopher Confucius preached as “the highest virtue.”

Don’t live in extremes, always be moderate.

A well-known proverb with a similar meaning is “Too much is like less”.

Too much is just as bad as too little.

So he investigated the moderation.

Moderation is read as “chuyo”.

Moderation is a way of thinking that, when there are two conflicting opinions, rather than leaning on one side, it incorporates the good points of both in a balanced manner.

The origin of the word “middle way” is in the Analects of Confucius.

I felt a little spiritual, but I thought that I was lucky with Zoro eyes, but it was a warning from Confucius.

If there are many 6s lined up, there is certainly an image of the devil.

It seems to be derived from the sentence in the Analects of Confucius, “Is it possible to achieve the virtue of moderation?”

This means that “the path of moderation is the best indicator of virtue”.

What kind of road is the middle way?

It is necessary to interpret the words of Confucius, but there is a wide range of interpretations and there is no absolute correct answer.

Thinking about the correct answer, “What is the path of the middle way?” will be a discipline of thinking and will lead to learning.

Among the four books of Confucianism, “The Analects,” “University,” and “Mencius,” moderation is particularly important in Confucian thinking.

Zhongyong is a scripture said to have been written by Zi Si, the grandson of Confucius.

In the moderation, there is a teaching to “know the destiny”. Developing the sex given from heaven is considered to be the way to perfection as a person.

The road is the process of progressing toward achieving a goal, and is the content of learning through learning so as not to deviate from the path to reach the goal.

If you don’t know your destiny that you were born with, you don’t know how to proceed, and you go astray. It is said that knowing the destiny is the significance of learning the moderation.

“Sincerity” in moderation means a heart that is true to yourself and others. It is a word close to “sincerity”. Confucius said that sincerity is the way to heaven.

Confucius began studying at the age of 15 in order to become a respectable person, but he said that it was not until the age of 70 that he could say and do what he wanted without being unreasonable. That’s right. It can be said that the purpose of learning the moderation is to reach such a free state that “even if you act as you think, you will not deviate from morality.”

In the Nicomachean Ethics, in which the thoughts of the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle are written, the word mesothes, which means “middle”, appears.

In the English translation, it was written as “Golden Mean”, and in Japanese, it was translated in Confucian terms.

The concept of moderation preached by Aristotle is said to be “the act of avoiding excess and deficiency is an ethical virtue.”

It is a way of thinking that the state where the surplus and the shortage are added and divided by 2 is the state of balance. For example, we consider “courage” to be the middle ground between recklessness (excess) and timidity (deficiency).

The difference between the two is that Confucius’s moderation emphasizes “can you always demonstrate”, while Aristotle’s moderation emphasizes “being in the optimum state”.

I looked up the synonyms and antonyms of moderation.

The synonyms of moderation include “moderation”, “moderation”, and “middle way”.

■ Abstinence

“Temperance”, which means “to be modest so as not to go overboard” or “to be disciplined and controlled”, can be said to be a synonym for “moderate” in the sense of “without bias”.

■ Time

Timing is a word with meanings such as “just the right amount” and “appropriate timing.” In terms of “just right,” it can be said to be a synonym for moderate. Moderation does not have the meaning of limiting timing like timing, so it cannot be used as a synonym for “just the right time.”

■ Nakamichi

It may not be a very familiar word compared to the above “moderation” and “appropriateness”. Chudo is a word that means “a way of thinking that does not lean on one side” or “a moderate path”, and is also a Buddhist term.

It is a word that can be said to be a synonym for moderation, but “middle way” is often used to express a political position.

Here are some words that are synonymous with moderate:

extreme
Extreme (very far from normal)
unfair (unjustified, improper, unreasonable)
radical (extreme, extreme)

All of these words have the opposite meaning of the state of being moderate and unbiased.

Moderation is not a word we use every day, so you may feel uncomfortable when using it as an adjective. It is used in limited situations, such as describing “virtue” like “moderate virtue”.

In fact, since I was little, I’ve been told this “moderation” and “know sufficiency” many times.

The other day I went to a soba restaurant in Shiga Prefecture, and I came across some retro miscellaneous goods, so I’ll post a picture.

The soba and tempura were delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was so good that I wanted to go there every week.

At Antique Fukousha, we also purchase retro miscellaneous goods.

See you soon

Hello everyone, this is Staff N.

The other day, I went to exorcise at Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine in Shiga Prefecture.

The reason I choose Hiyoshi Taisha is because it is close to my acquaintance.

Actually, I wanted to go to Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, but it rains every time we meet because of N, the rain girl.

And it is still raining as I write this blog.

Well, I’m happy that I can use my favorite umbrella on rainy days.

Exorcism, it may be the first time in my life.

I may have done it in the past, but I suddenly remembered that I didn’t come to exorcise myself.

N is not good at formal ceremonies, so it was a little funny when he said the name of the Norito in that uninflected voice.

However, if I don’t do it seriously, I’m going to be punished, so I’ve been concentrating and finishing the exorcism.

There was a water fortune, so I tried it, but it was a small luck, so I tied it to a branch.

By the way, my acquaintance was Sueyoshi, so I realized that we are in an unlucky year.

However, I came to the conclusion that it was okay because I just got rid of the bad luck, so I ate delicious pasta and went home.

Come to think of it, water was spilled by the clerk at that pasta shop just like in a drama (laughs).

Are you going back to Aichi on the Shinkansen with this? ? I was confused for a moment, but my clothes were also dried, so I returned home safely.

I liked that it was water instead of soup.

In addition, since it became a blog topic, I will consider it as killing two birds with one stone.

Speaking of Hiyoshi Taisha, it is also said that the scene in the movie “Rurouni Kenshin” where the main character receives the “reverse blade sword” from Akazora Arai was filmed.

It is said that the impressive pine tree that became Gunen was used as a location for various things other than Ruroken.

N was also very interested in the shape of the tree that he saw for the first time.

I was talking endlessly with an acquaintance about why it became like this, but I couldn’t find an answer.

If anyone knows, please let me know.

The first time I went to Hiyoshi Taisha, for some reason it was so comfortable that I felt like I wanted to stay here forever.

When I looked it up later, I found out that there is an attribute of a shrine that is compatible with me, and that was Hiyoshi Taisha.

By the way, it seems that N is compatible with Nagoya Castle in Aichi Prefecture.

On the other hand, Atsuta Jingu and Ise Jingu seem to be incompatible, and I went there at the end of the year.

Do you know the ritual of offering Tamagushi to the gods called “Tamagushi Houe” to ward off evil spirits?

This is called Tamagushihoten, and Tamagushi is a branch of the Sakaki tree, where the gods reside, tied with shide and hemp. According to the dictionary, it means “to offer respectfully.”

Tamagushi Housei is also characterized by being a “Shinto” ceremony.

For example, at wakes and funerals in accordance with Shinto rules, tamagushi hosho is performed instead of incense.

I’m sure there are fine etiquette, but since it was my first time, I did what the priest told me, but I don’t know if that was the right thing to do.

“Hiyoshi Taisha” in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture is the head shrine of more than 3,000 Sanno Shrines nationwide.

In addition, since it is located in the direction of the demon gate when viewed from Heiankyo, it is believed to ward off bad luck.

The monkey known as “Masaru” is the messenger of the gods and is a symbol of warding off evil.

Monkeys inhabit all over Japan, but for some reason, monkeys have been associated with Hiyoshi since ancient times, and since some time ago, monkeys have come to be treated as a symbol of warding off evil spirits.

“Masaru” is said to be a very auspicious monkey who is familiar with “evil goes away” and “wins”.

Monkeys have long been kept in the precincts, and are said to have already appeared in records from the Muromachi period.

“Monkey stables” and “monkey stables” are written on maps from the Edo period. According to the record of “Hiyoshi Sanno Gongen Chishinki”, a budget (salary??) of “Ikkoku” (the amount of rice one adult eats in a year) is allocated for food expenses for Kamien.

I felt a little sorry that I was put in such a small space, but I’m glad that I felt like I was getting paid.

There are 3,000 maple trees in the precincts, and it is known as one of Kansai’s best autumn leaves viewing spots.

The best time to see them is from around November 10th to early December every year, so I’d like to see Hiyoshi Taisha again in autumn.

There are about 40 shrines, and all the gods are collectively called “Hiyoshi Okami”.

Hiyoshi Taisha was founded by Emperor Sujin in the 7th year of the year, so it has a history of more than 2100 years.

After the capital was moved to Heiankyo, it has been revered as a talisman and a ward of misfortune, as it is located in the northeast of Kyoto, the capital city.

There is also a cute monkey decoration at the Antique Fukousha.

If you have antiques with animal motifs, N will be delighted.

See you soon

Hello everyone. This is staff M.

As soon as possible, I came up with the idea of creating a section asking, “What day is it today?” (This is because every time I look for blog material, I have a habit of asking what day it is today, and I’m sorry for my selfish thoughts of picking up topics that interest me.)

It seems that today is “Pluto Day”. Ladies and gentlemen, do you remember when you were in elementary school that you remembered “water, gold, earth, fire, wood, earth, heaven, sea, and darkness”? This is the name of the planets in the solar system arranged in order of “closest to the sun”, and at that time, Pluto, the farthest planet, was included in the number, but now Pluto is not a planet, so it is not counted. I don’t know. So the correct answer is to end with “sea”.

Actually, I still thought that Pluto was a planet until I looked up Pluto’s day in “What day is today?” Then when did it cease to be a planet? ? There may be people who have the same idea, so I would like to explain a little.

Originally, Pluto Day was based on a comparison of photographs taken on January 23 and January 29 by Mr. Clyde Tombaugh, who worked at the Lowell Observatory in the United States on February 18, 1930 (Showa 5). It seems that it is the anniversary of the discovery of Pluto, which is considered to be the 9th planet of the solar system. At that time, the authority to decide on the name of this planet rested with Lowell Observatory and Mr. Vest Slipher, who was the director of the observatory. Percival” and other candidates were listed, but none of them came to mind… At that time, Pluto’s godfather, “Venice Barney,” an 11-year-old girl at the time, heard from her grandfather that a new planet had been discovered, and that the planet was very difficult to see. When Pluto proposed the name “Pluto” to his grandfather because he could disappear, everyone liked the name and it was adopted.

It’s amazing how an 11-year-old girl’s naming sense is outstanding! ? If it was me…I thought about it, but I can’t come up with it?

A little off topic, but why is Pluto no longer a planet? The question still remains. The reason for this was that the definition of a planet, which had been ambiguous until now, was reviewed. At the International Astronomical Union General Assembly held in Prague, Czech Republic in August 2006, a new scientific definition of a planet was decided. and is spherical due to the gravitational force generated from it”, and “it is by far the largest around its orbit”.

Here, Pluto is smaller than the Moon, and in 1992, more than 1,000 objects similar in size to Pluto were found near Pluto, and in 2005, a planet larger than Pluto, 2003UB313, was discovered. It seems that it has been removed from the “planet” because it has been done.

Even though it has become the 9th planet in the solar system, it might have been a lawsuit for me to be excluded from the definition as a planet. And it seems that the atmosphere is blue, and a heart-shaped nitrogen glacier has been discovered one after another, so I would like to look forward to new discoveries in the future. And I would like to continue to secretly endorse Pluto.
