日本では昔、六月は水無月と言っていました。

梅雨の季節なのに、なんで水が無い月なの？と以前から疑問に思っていたスタッフMです。

調べてみると、「水の無い月」と書きますが、水が無いわけではなかったようです。

水無月の「無（な）」は、「神無月（かんなづき）」の「な」と同じく、「の」にあたる

連体助詞「な」で、「水の月」という意味なのだそうです。

諸説ありますが、「水の月」に由来する説の中には、田に水を引く時期にあたることからとする説や、

梅雨の時期になることからという説があるそうです。

水無月といえば、神社では大きな行事がございます。

それが、「水無月の大祓（みなづきのおおはらえ）」です。我が家にも神社からその案内が送られてきました。

それによると、私たちは普段生活をしているなかで、知らず知らずのうちに心身の罪や穢れ、

過ちなどが溜まってきます。

どんなに聖人君主であっても、「この半年間一度も嘘をついたことがありません」という方は

いらっしゃらないですよね。

そういった小さな罪が溜まってくると、清らかな気持ちで日々生活を送れなくなってくるようなのです。

だから、とりあえず、半年間ごとに罪や穢れをまとめて清めましょう！というのが大祓で、

水無月（６月）と師走（１２月）に執り行われます。

そういえばスタッフMも罪穢れに関してはたくさん心当たりが…。

例えば、人から頂いた美味しいお土産を、旦那さんに内緒で息子と私だけでこっそり

食べきってしまい、焦った私たちは初めからそんな物は無かったことにしようと

証拠隠滅してしまったことがあったり。

これは、私だけでなく、息子にも罪を背負わせてしまっていますね。いけない母です。(笑)

他にも、まだ１０分以上かかる場所から「もうすぐ着きます！」とメールしてみたり。

そうやって考えると私は罪や穢れだらけです。反省です…。

みなさんはいかがですか？

でもね、安心してください！

古事記にもありますが、神さまだって罪や穢れを背負うようなことをたくさん起こしています。

かの有名なイザナギの神様もそうです。大好きだった奥さんのイザナミさんが亡くなり、

寂しさゆえに絶対に行ってはいけないと言われていた黄泉の国に足を踏み入れてしまいました。

そこで絶対に見てはいけないと言われていたイザナミさんの今の姿を見てしまい、

あんなにきれいだった奥さんの腐敗した姿に恐怖を感じ、命からがら逃げ帰ってきました。

黄泉の国は死の国なので、そこの穢れを持ってくるわけにはいきません。

そこで、禊祓（みそぎはらえ）が出てくるのです。

「禊」は水で身を清める行為であり、「祓」は身の穢れをはらうために神に祈る行為です。

それを、筑紫の日向の橘の小戸の阿波岐原で行うと、そこから様々な神様が生まれました。

有名なのが天照大神（アマテラスオオミカミ）や月読命（ツクヨミノミコト）、

須佐之男命（スサノオノミコト）などです。

禊をしてすっきりするだけでなく、新たに生み出されるものもあったのですね。

この禊祓を起源として始まったのが大祓で、宮中においても古くから行われてきたようです。

風光舎　名古屋店のすぐ裏手にある『城山八幡宮』でも水無月の大祓を執り行ってくださいます。

具体的に大祓ってどういうことをやるのかというと、紙の人形（ひとがた）に氏名と年齢を書き、

人形で自身の頭から足先までなで、自分の息を三度吹きかけ、身についた穢れを人形に移します。

それを６月２９日までに神社に届けると、６月３０日の大祓でご祈祷していただけるようです。

No matter how saint the monarch, no one says, “I have never lied to you in the last six months.”

When such small sins accumulate, it seems that you cannot live your daily life with a pure feeling.

So, for the time being, let’s cleanse all the sins and impurities for half a year from New Year to Minazuki!

That seems to be the purpose of Minazuki’s Oharae.

Famous ones are Amaterasu Omikami, Tsukuyomi no Mikoto, and Susano Onomikoto.

The origin of this Misogi is the Minazuki Oharae, which seems to have been practiced in the Imperial Palace for a long time.

At “Shiroyama Hachimangu”, which is just behind the Fukosha Nagoya store, please also perform the Minazuki Otoharae.

Specifically, what to do is to write your name and age on a paper doll (human being) and stroke it from your head to your toes.

爽やかな風が抜ける気持ちのよい日です。

うすい水色… 初夏らしい空と重なり、ふと目にしたフィレンツェの特集記事が目に留まりました。

１９８２年、”人類の創造的才能を表す傑作である” などの理由から「フィレンツェ歴史地区」の名称で世界文化遺産に登録。

世界遺産は、地球の営みと人類の歴史を目の当たりにする私たちの誇りであると言われています。

その重厚感を体感できるイタリア・ルネサンス発祥の地。

芸術家たちが手がけた建築物・彫刻などを市街で目にする機会が多いトスカーナ州の州都でもあります。

個人的には、映画「羊たちの沈黙」から１０年後、あのハンニバル・レクター博士が名を変え、潜伏していたのがフィレンツェだったなぁと…

（注！猟奇的なシーンが多々ありのため、ご覧になっていない方、要配慮でございます！）

フィレンツェ最古の橋であるとともに、先の大戦を生き延びたヴェッキオ橋やヴェッキオ宮殿。

『インフェルノ』（2016年・アメリカ映画）でもトム・ハンクスが大忙し、見所・名所ばかりでしたね。

どこをとっても絵になるような、見どころ満載で人気の旅行先です。

”美術史を彩る巨匠の作品があふれる美の都__

メディチ家をはじめとするパトロンのもとで大輪の花が開いたフィレンツェの芸術。

再生・復活を意味するルネサンス。

それは、古代ギリシャやローマを見本にした人間性尊重の文化運動のうねり。”

世界史の教科書に出てくるルネサンスを演出したメディチ家でありますが、名家の歴史を学びなおしは気が遠くなりそうなので(笑)、ゆかりの場所を交えて探索してみたいと思います。

１４世紀に毛織物業や金融業で富を蓄積したフィレンツェ。

街を歩けばあちこちにメディチ家の紋章が目に飛び込んできます。

絶大な財力と権力の証、現代でも否応なしにわかります。

それも球体が６つ付いているものが多く、その球体は”メディチ家は医者のことだから丸薬だろう”といわれているそう。

詳細は不明とのことですが…

メディチ家によるフィレンツェ支配を確立したのはコジモ・デ・メディチ。

父から銀行業を受け継ぎ、発展させ、１４３４年には実質的な支配者となりました。

ルネッサンス期のパトロンのひとりでドゥオモのクーポラ（円蓋と呼ばれる聖堂の丸屋根のことですね）を手がけたブルネレスキなどを庇護したとのこと。

フィレンツェの最盛期、コジモの孫・ロレンツォの時期にも祖父と同じように芸術家たちを支え、彼らをローマやミラノ、ヴェネツィアなどに派遣し、ルネサンス運動を広めていったようです。

少年のミケランジェロの才能を見出し、自宅に住まわせていたという話も。

次に、名前はよく耳にするかと思います、サン・マルコ修道院。

ここはコジモが私財を投じて建て、瞑想にふけった場所と言われています。

多くの僧房や回廊、食堂がそのままに保存され、鑑賞することができます。

この修道院を代表する傑作は、なんといっても壁に描かれたフラ・アンジェリコの１４４２年頃の作品『受胎告知』であります。

そのため、現在ではむしろフラ・アンジェリコの美術館として知られているとか…

大天使ガブリエルと聖母マリアの厳かな様子_目の当たりにしたら誰もが神聖な気持ちになるでしょう。

まるで自分が告知を受けたかのような…⁈ ありがたそう。

そしてそこからほど近いアカデミア美術館は、ミケランジェロの彫刻作品として有名な『ダビデ像』で知られています。

ダビデは旧約聖書でイスラエル王国の統治者。

有名なあのお姿は、巨人ゴリアテとの戦いで石を投げつけようと狙いを定めている場面だそうです。

フィレンツェ共和国が周辺の都市国家から脅かされたときは、巨人に立ち向かうこの像がフィレンツェを象徴しているといわれたこともあるそう。

ミケランジェロ少年を見出し、立派に大成していく過程を見ていたメディチ家の皆さま。

それはそれは目立つところに像を飾るでしょう。

そして前述したヴェッキオ宮殿は、シニョリーア広場に面して建つ宮殿で、一時の住まいとしてメディチ家も居住していたとか。

現在は市庁舎として使われているようです。

ちなみに、ルッジェーロ・レオンカヴァッロというイタリアのオペラ作曲家による、歌劇《メディチ家の人々》という曲がありますが、こちらは残念ながら興行的には失敗に終わってしまったそう…

豪華絢爛、華麗なるメディチ家の遺産。

今後、海外旅行が可能になった際には、美術館巡りのついでに気が向いたらメディチ家探しでもいかがでしょう。

早く屋根のない博物館、拝みたいものです。

こんにちは、スタッフYです。

本日、ベートーヴェンソナタNO.23を聴きながら通勤致しました。ベートーヴェンソナタの中でも私が一番好きな作品です。

NO.23は、別名「熱情」。ベートーヴェンのピアノソナタ32作品の中でも有名な3大ソナタの一作品。ベートーベンのピアノ・ソナタの最高傑作「熱情」は、数ある彼のピアノ曲の中で、最も激しい曲の１つとされています。よって、店内にて流すには少々重いと判断しまして、通勤中までと致しましたが笑。

この名曲誕生の裏には、ベートーベンのかなわぬ恋がありました。ベートーベンとは音楽の親友であった宮殿の主ブルンスヴィク伯爵。

その彼を通して出会った運命の女性が、その妹ヨゼフィーネです。彼女にピアノを教えていたベートーベン。レッスンを重ねるうちに、すっかりヨゼフィーネに魅了されていきます。それを裏付けるがごとく20世紀の半ばにベートーベンが彼女に宛てた13通の手紙が、およそ150年ぶりに発見され話題となりました。しかし二人の間には大きな壁が。平民と貴族という身分の差です。彼女の両親は裕福な貴族でないと結婚を決して認めず、ヨゼフィーネは別の貴族と政略結婚をさせれたものの、わずか4年で死別。ベートーベンは未亡人となった彼女を健気に支えましたが、結局「身分の差」は超えられず、二人は結ばれなかったというせつない悲話。「熱情」は、そんな叶わぬ恋の苦しみの中で書かれたといいます。

また、「熱情」誕生の裏には「ピアノを進化させたい」という、ベートーベンの強い思いがありました。ピアノ進化の過程をたどると、彼の功績の大きさが見えてきます。当時の鍵盤の音域は最大でも5オクターブ。ベートーベンも「悲愴」や「月光」など、初期のピアノ・ソナタは、こうした5オクターブまでしかないピアノで作曲していました。

しかし、そんな音域の制限に、どうしても我慢できなかったベートーベン。度々、職人たちに5オクターブ以上の鍵盤を要求したといいます。そして、ついに完成したピアノの音域は、ベートーベンこだわりの5オクターブ半。音域が広がったことで、心の叫びのような、鋭い高音のメロディーも演奏可能となったのです。さらに、膝で操作していたレバーは足先に移動。現在のピアノのペダルに随分近づきました。体全体を左右に動かせるようになったことで、激しい演奏も可能になったのです。

ダイナミックな表現が特徴の「熱情」。それが最も分かる部分の楽譜を見てみると、pp（非常に弱く）から一瞬にしてff（非常に強く）へ音の強さが変わっています。大胆に強弱が目まぐるしく変わるベートーベンの音楽は当時の人々を驚かせたのです。

そして、冒頭で聞いたメロディーがまた登場したかと思いきや、そのメロディーを破壊するような強烈な和音が突如鳴り響くという仕掛けも。誰もやったことのない表現に挑戦し続けたベートーベンの斬新さが「熱情」に詰まっています。

いつの頃だったか、有名なピアノの演奏家で指導者の方に「ピアノは、ひとりでオーケストラを奏でられる楽器。」と、お聞きしたことがありました。

この「熱情」は、いつもその言葉を思い出させ、ピアノ曲なのにオーケストラを彷彿させる大曲。また、ベートーヴェンがピアノの進化に尽力を注いでくれたお陰で、「熱情」以降の作品はダイナミックな表現が出来るようになり、こんな素人が、ピアノソナタを聴きながら、「ここの旋律はフルートがいいかも。」とか「ここは、チェロだな」などと勝手にいや、自然に「ひとりオーケストラ」の妄想ができているのですから、ピアノソナタNO.23やはりすごい。

ところで、どうして今日はベートーヴェンを聴いているのか。

実は、世界的巨匠ダニエル・バレンボイムがなんと、この6月に単独で緊急来日し、東京、大阪、愛知で16年ぶりとなるピアノ・リサイタルが行われるというのです。ダニエル・バレンボイムについては、クラシックファンの方ならご存じかと思いますが、５度のベートーヴェンピアノソナタ全集録音をされたという、ベートーヴェンピアノソナタといえば、もう彼そのものといっても過言ではない存在なのです。

そんな彼がなんと6月9日、名古屋にて演奏会が行われるとは。これって、最初で最後のチャンスでは。

スタッフY、悩みに悩みました。S席22,000円…。

結論を申し上げますと、残念ながら私のリサイタル会場は通勤の車の中、演目はピアノソナタNO.23となってしまいそうです。リサイタルへ行かれる幸運な皆さま、どうかご感想お聞かせください。

お昼間の日差しはとても暑く感じる名古屋です。

街ゆく人々も、一気に夏らしい装いの方が多くいらっしゃいます。

本日から６月ですね。「水無月」、仲夏、紫陽花、梅雨の時期。

そしてぱっと思い浮かぶのは「ジューン・ブライド」。

英語の月名『June』は、ローマ神話のユピテル（ジュピター）の妻ユノ（ジュノー）が由来とされており、この「ユノ」が結婚生活の守護神であることからこう呼ばれています。

６月の花嫁さんの幸せが、少しでも多くの方に伝染するといいのですが ^^

「雨に濡れて露おそろしからず」

”大きな災難を経験した人は、少々の困難にはくじけない”ということわざです。

まだまだ長引いている現況ですが、常に気持ちだけでも前向きでいたいものです。

気分を華やかにしてくれる身近なものはやはり「お花」でしょうか。

本日６月１日の誕生花はバラであります。

バラは本当にたくさんの品種・系統があり、またその命名もセンス抜群のものが多く、驚いてしまいます。

花びらの枚数が一輪で１００枚以上あるものもあるようで、実に個性豊かですね。

近年では、海外の国際コンクールで日本のバラも受賞が相次ぐようになってきたのですね。

（長らく育種家・バラ関係者の方々の夢だったとのこと）

時折、おうちの庭先でも見事なバラを育てていらっしゃるご家庭をお見かけします。

素人目にはこんな風にできたらいいけど、むずかしそうと思ってただ通り過ぎるだけであります。

バラは伝説やロマンに彩られた究極の植物。

ルーツや歴史に沿った逸話が数多くあるバラは奥深く、花の女王と称える方も多くいらっしゃると思います。

古代より、単に優れた園芸植物というだけでなく、文芸・芸術・美術・香料や薬用など様々な役割があったとのこと。

バラの栽培史については紀元前500年頃に、古代中国の宮殿（周王朝）の庭で栽培されたのが最も古い記録とされているようです。

ヨーロッパにおける栽培が盛んになったのは、１４世紀以降、イタリアのルネッサンス期から後のこと。

この頃からバラが芸術品のモチーフとして頻繁に登場するようになったというわけです。

また、様々な魅力的な顔を持つバラは、地域によってもその楽しみ方は多様だと思います。

九州とほぼ同じ広さの国土に大小合わせて約３０００ものお城が現存するベルギーに関する記事を発見。

貴族の住まいとして現役で使用されている城から、公共施設として市民に愛される城まで、歴史深いベルギーではお城が日常に溶け込んでいるのですね。

バラを最上級にきれいに見せる庭園に古城が佇んでいたら、そのロマンさは最強でしょう。

１５１５年に築城されたコロマ城は修復され、ローズガーデンとしてオープン。

広大な庭園は、フランドル地方のバラ・オールドローズ・インターナショナルなどのテーマで区分けされ、それぞれ異なる見せ方で楽しく散策できるとのこと。

次に、１５世紀に建てられたネオゴシック様式の古城・ウィッセケルケ城。

第二次世界大戦後、居住者もなく荒廃していたというこちら。

市民の英断で修復、庭園も一般公開され、ジョギングする人もいたりと”みんなのお城”として活用されています。

ヨーロッパならではの光景ですね。

ご紹介しておきながら、思い立ったらひとっ飛び！ができないので何とももどかしいですが…

１９２０年代のデンマークを舞台にした『リリーのすべて』という映画もあります。

この映画に出てくるパリのシーンのほとんどがベルギーのブリュッセルにて撮影されたとか。

世界初の性別適合手術を受けた画家とその妻の葛藤と愛情の日々を描いた、というテーマなので賛否あるかもしれません。

ですが、全編が絵画のようで美しいのです。

アールヌーヴォー建築が見事で、文化遺産にも登録されている「カフェ・ファルスタッフ」は、当時の雰囲気を蘇らせる圧巻の美しさを誇るとされています。

静かながらも情熱をも感じられる、まったりとした梅雨の時期にも合うような一本かと思います。

皆さま、初めまして。新しく入りました、神社大好きスタッフMです。どうぞよろしくお願い致します。

さて、梅雨の中休みの先日、普段からよく参拝する熱田神宮に行って参りました。熱田神宮ができたのはおよそ１９００年前、三種の神器の一つである草薙の剣が祀られたことに始まります。日本でも有数の由緒正しい神社です。鳥居をくぐり、一歩参道に足を踏み入れると、前日の雨で清められた空間がとても心地よく、歩くだけで浄化されていく気分です。

手水舎の横には、ひときわ存在感をはなつ大きな楠があります。これは、弘法大師がお手植えされたと言われる大楠で、樹齢１０００年以上とも言われています。その周りで何やら人だかりが出来ていました。気にせず友人とおしゃべりに夢中になっていると、一人の方が「蛇が出たってよ。」と教えてくれました。その人だかりのところに行くと、タッチの差で蛇はいなくなってしまった様子です。

熱田神宮の大楠には昔から白蛇さんが住んでいて、もしそれが見られたら金運、開運アップと言われています。実際に大楠の前の賽銭箱の横にはいつも卵がお供えしてあります。ですが、何年も通っていても一度も見たことはないし、本当にいるのかしら？と思っていた私には驚きでした。実際には見られなかったけれども、確実にいることが証明された瞬間でした。近くにいた方が写真に収めていたので見せていただきました。すると本当に白い蛇でした。周りのおじ様方のお話によるとどうも、青大将なのだそうです。雨の次の晴れた日には見られるという貴重な情報までいただきました。変温動物の蛇さんは冷えた身体を太陽の熱で温めるのですね。他にも、いたるところに木のうろがあり、そこに自在に出入りしているらしい、白蛇さんは卵を丸呑みするんだ、しかも一個じゃなく五個も呑んだのを見たことがある、などなど。普通にお参りに行ったつもりが、思いがけず非日常の出来事と出会い、ワクワクと心躍るひとときとなりました。

白蛇は神様の使いといわれますし、蛇は龍の化身とも言われています。もともと日本には蛇を神様とする信仰がありましたが、中国から仏教が伝わると同時に龍信仰も伝わり、蛇と龍が同様に神様と扱われるようになりました。どちらも尊い存在だからこそ、いにしえから私たちの祖先は蛇や龍の置物を飾ったり、食器などにも蛇や龍を描き大切にしたのでしょうか。

Next to the Chozuya, there is a large camphor tree that stands out. This is Okusu, which is said to have been hand-planted by Kobo Daishi, and is said to be over 1000 years old. There was a crowd around it. When I was absorbed in chatting with my friends without worrying about it, one person told me, “A snake has come out.” When I went to the crowd, it seems that the snake disappeared due to the difference in touch.

Mr. White Snake has lived in Okusu at Atsuta Jingu for a long time, and if you can see it, it is said that your fortune and good luck will improve. In fact, eggs are always offered next to the offering box in front of Okusu. However, I have never seen it even after many years, and am I really there? I was surprised when I thought. It was a moment that proved to be certain, though it wasn’t actually seen. The person who was nearby took a picture, so I showed it. Then it was a really white snake. According to the stories of the uncles around him, he is a blue general. We also received valuable information that it can be seen on a sunny day after the rain. The poikilotherm snake warms his cold body with the heat of the sun. Besides, there are trees everywhere, and it seems that they can go in and out freely, Mr. White Snake swallows whole eggs, and I have seen five swallows instead of one. etc. I intended to go to visit normally, but unexpectedly I encountered an extraordinary event, and it was an exciting time.

The white snake is said to be a messenger of God, and the snake is also said to be an incarnation of a dragon. Originally, Japan had a belief that snakes were gods, but at the same time that Buddhism was transmitted from China, dragon beliefs were also transmitted, and snakes and dragons are now treated as gods as well. Because both are precious beings, did our ancestors decorate snakes and dragon figurines from ancient times, and cherish snakes and dragons on tableware?

はじめまして、スタッフＴです。

初めてのブログでとても緊張しています。（タイトルに緊張感はありませんが…。）

もしかしたら、緊張感が画面越しに伝わってしまうかもしれませんね…。皆様に緊張感を感じていただくわけにはいかないので、リラックスして書いていけたらなと思います。

令和３年度は、梅雨入りが昨年度に比べ早いそうです。皆様がお住まいになっている地域でも雨が降り、洗濯物が干せなかったり、通勤に一苦労したりと日々の生活に様々な影響が出ていることじゃないでしょうか？

ところで、わたしは雨が好きなのですが、そのことを周りの友人に言うとあまり良い反応はされません。やはり、雨は憂鬱になるというイメージがありますから…。皆様の中にもそう考える方がいらっしゃるかもしれません。ですから、雨のメリットを知って少しでも好きになっていただけたらなと思い、雨について少し語っていこうと思います。

雨は悪いことばかりでなく、良いこともあるのです！

例えば…湿気の多い梅雨時期はほこりが舞い散らず、汚れも一番落ちやすいそうです。家にこもることが多くなった今、お時間のある時に普段手を出せない場所を掃除するのもいいですね。また、梅雨の時期は一年の中で最もお肌にやさしい時期でもあるのです。お肌にとって最適な湿度６０～６５％を保ってくれます。

そして、なんといってもわたしが雨が好きな理由は、ヒーリング効果です。しとしとと降る雨音にはリラックス効果があり、心を落ち着かせたり集中力をUPさせたりする効果があるそうです。さらに雨の日は照度が減り、眼に入る光が優しくなります。スマホのアプリでも雨音のものがあったりと意外とそういう面で需要があるのかもしれません。

アプリで聞く雨音もいいですし、部屋の中で聞く雨音もいいですが、傘の下で聞く雨音もなかなかにいいです。

今さらですが、実はわたし、雨が好きと言っておきながら折り畳み傘しか持っておらず、長靴もありませんでした。雨が降った時完璧な状態で雨と向き合うことが出来ていませんでした。

しかし、最近ようやく長靴を購入いたしました。

とても便利ですね。そして思いました、長靴はいったいいつからあるのだろうと。

調べてみると、長靴はイギリスからはじまりもともとは革製だったのが１８５２年にゴムで防水性のものが作られたそうです。当時、人口の大多数が農民や牧民であり、ぬかるんだ地も木靴を履いて作業しており、ゴムでできた長靴は爆発的ヒットとなったそうです。第一次世界大戦や、第二次世界大戦でも使われたそうです。そんな長靴が今や雨の日に履くものとなったと知り、とても平和だなと思ってしまいました。

しかし、調べていると驚くことに長靴を晴れの日でも履くというお洒落があるそうです。ファッションに疎いので知りませんでしたが、天候に関係なくファッションアイテムとなっているようですね。

お洒落は自由ということですかね…素敵ですね。

In the 3rd year of Reiwa, it seems that the rainy season will start earlier than last year. Even in the area where you live, it may rain, and you may not be able to dry your laundry, or you may have a hard time commuting, which may have various effects on your daily life.

By the way, I like rain, but when I tell my friends about it, it doesn’t respond very well. After all, there is an image that rain makes me melancholy … Some of you may think so. Therefore, I would like to talk about rain a little, hoping that you will know the benefits of rain and like it as much as possible.

Rain is not only bad, it can be good!

For example … During the rainy season when the humidity is high, dust does not scatter and dirt is most easily removed. Now that I’m more likely to stay home, it’s a good idea to clean places that I can’t usually reach when I have time. The rainy season is also the most skin-friendly time of the year. It keeps the optimum humidity of 60-65% for the skin.

And the reason I like rain after all is the healing effect. The sound of rain that falls gently has a relaxing effect, and it seems to have the effect of calming the mind and improving concentration. Furthermore, on rainy days, the illuminance decreases and the light entering the eyes becomes gentler. There may be unexpected demand for smartphone apps, such as those with rain sounds.

The sound of rain heard in the app is good, the sound of rain heard in the room is good, but the sound of rain heard under an umbrella is also quite good.

例年でしたら５月は年間でも貴重な過ごしやすい季節ですが、今年はあまり歓迎できませんね。泣

しかし梅雨の晴れ間が数日は続くということで、密のないお出掛けを楽しみたいと思う今日この頃でもあります。

気温が心地よく感じられる日には、自転車でぶらりというのも気持ちのよいものです。

気負わずご近所を散策もお手頃な気分転換ですが、贅沢を言えば避暑地の風を感じて過ごすなんて理想です。

（スタッフ I 、最近は妄想だけでも楽しめるようになってきました笑）

ここ名古屋からですと、やはり思い浮かぶ避暑地としては軽井沢でしょうか。

湖(名前は忘れ…）の周りをサイクリングした体験は随分昔ですが、身体が喜んでいる感覚というのは覚えているものです。

「空気、澄んでる～！」と心底思ったり、人間は自然に触れないとダメになる(笑)と感じる場所であります。

この地に今も昔も人々が魅了される理由は、数多くあると思います。

東京からほど近いという利便性もあり、多くの著名人にも愛されていますね。

かつて文士と呼ばれた作家たちも、古くは馬に揺られて山越えをしてまでも、都会を離れひと夏を避暑地で過ごしたと言われています。

明治から昭和にかけて、近代作家たちも取材にかこつけて旅を楽しんでいたよう…。

創作の場として、避暑地に別荘をもつことがステータスとなっていたようです。

当時、避暑地で過ごす概念としては、リゾートというより「養生」。

もっぱら、向かう先は「温泉地」だったようです。

明治後半、交通網が発達することによって国内の一歩奥まで旅することが可能になったようですが、現存する文豪ゆかりの宿には温泉地が多いのはそのためとのこと。

日本の避暑地代表格として軽井沢を生んだのは外国人宣教師ですが、日本人で別荘をもった第１号の海軍大佐も、群馬県の霧積（きりづみ）温泉に「湯治」に訪れた際に、碓氷峠を挟んで長野県側にある軽井沢の地と出合ったとの記述も。

文豪・川端康成も軽井沢に別荘をもったひとりであります。

（青年期は第二の故郷とも呼べるほど伊豆の湯ヶ島温泉に通っていたそう）

そこで、室生犀星や堀辰雄、正宗白鳥、吉川英治らと交流を深め、その作家たちと過ごした濃密な思い出をエッセイ『秋風高原』（「川端康成随筆集」岩波文庫）に残しています。

旅先では肩書を忘れて、距離がグッと近くなるものですからね。

現代の男性陣のように他愛もないことで（怒られる⁈）盛り上がっていたのでしょう。

小説家・劇作家の正宗白鳥は、ニッカーボッカーでこの街を颯爽と歩く姿が有名だったようで、着ていたシャツのヨレヨレ具合を気にかけてみたりと面白い視点でのやりとりがあったようです。

また、手つかずの自然が残る軽井沢では、移り変わる浅間山の姿にも見飽きることがなかった川端氏。

「ペンを休めると浅間や樹海をながめるともなくながめて」と楽しんだ様子もしたためています。

正宗白鳥も同じく、軽井沢の冷涼な空気とやわらかな緑を欧州の避暑地と同様に愛したとのことです。

「軽井沢にて」『世界教養全集 別巻１ 日本随筆・随想集』（平凡社）の一文です。

昭和１５年、６１歳のころに雲場池近くに別荘を構え、この随筆は約２年後に書かれました。

だれにも邪魔されないひととき、清浄な涼気の中では読む物語の味わいも異なるのだとこの地を賛美したと言われています。

信濃路自然歩道のハルニレ林や山野草をくぐる森林浴。

人間が本来求める、自然をチャージしてくれる場所はいつの時代も同じのようです。

室生犀星に至っては、この地に降る雨にも特別な思いを抱いたとのこと。

”東京の土埃の深い、乾き切つた道路にポツリポツリとくる暑い雨とはちがひ、日光を曇硝子から隔てて見るやうな明るい空からふる雨は、輕くて歩くのに濡れても平氣であつた”

「輕井澤の雨」（『室生犀星全集 第五巻』新潮社）で表現しています。

そして、執筆活動などでひいきにしていた「つるや旅館」は芥川龍之介らも好んで滞在していたそう。

タイムスリップして名作が生まれた雰囲気を見てみたいと思った方、朗報です。

昨日は、24年ぶりのスーパームーンの皆既月食でしたね。皆様の地域では観測できましたでしょうか？観測できた地域の皆さま、羨ましい限りです。こちら古美術風光舎名古屋店のあります愛知県名古屋市では、日中から曇り空でして、朝から期待薄の予感。案の定、皆既月食の観測は難しいお天気でした。

どのような状況にせよ、今回の皆既月食で皆様どんな思い出がてきましたでしょうか。わたくしは、今回は、「あの時はたしか、LIVE中継だったわ。肉眼でみたかった…。」といった残念な思い出なのですが、残念が故「12年後の月食はどこでみているのかなぁ。」とも思ったり、次の皆既月食に思いを馳せるのもよいかとも思っています。

しかしながら、LIVE中継越しでも、影って行く月が地球と重なり、月が赤胴色に現われ、とても感動致しました。赤胴色に変化した瞬間、その審美的な色にしばし惹き込まれ、地球はうごいているのだなぁとか、自分は地球の上に立ってるのだなぁとか、何というか、ちょうど星に立って、そこからよその星を眺めている星の王子様のような気分になりました。

先日、面白い記事をみつけました。

甘いけれども見た目の悪い「尻腐れ」のフルーツトマトを、とある農園で、「闇落ちとまと」という名前にしたら人気商品になったとの記事。そのトマト農家のアイデアが素晴らしいと話題になっています。 尻腐れは、主にカルシウム欠乏が原因で起きる生理障害で、トマトを甘くするために水やりを少なくすると出るもの。とても甘いものの、トマトの一部が黒くなるため、見た目から敬遠されてほとんど廃棄されてきたらしいのですが、「並外れた資質を持ちながら暗黒面に落ちたアナキン・スカイウォーカーみたいでかわいそうですよね！」ということで、闇落ちという名前にして直売所で販売したところ意外や意外、大人気に。黒い部分は切り落として食べるとのことです。 　このアイデアには「名付けの天才」「考え方一つでこうなるのはいいね」などの声が寄せられました。食べてみたいというコメントや、食品ロスを減らせるとして賞賛する声もみられました。

「闇落ちトマト」、気になりますね。食べてみたいですね。気になり始めたら、もうそのネーミングの沼に惹き込まれていますよ、そこのあなた。いや、そこの自分。

「闇落ちトマト」ではないですが、ネーミングは大事、ネーミングの魅力に惹き込まれることは、今に始まったことではありませんよね。それを物語るのが、昨今、鬼滅の刃や刀剣女子などの刀剣ブーム。

先日NHKにて、国の重要文化財の名刀、「膝丸」別名「薄緑」（大覚寺蔵、長さ　2尺8寸9分（87.6cm）、反り　1寸2分（3.72cm））

についての番組が放映されていました。

膝丸は源氏の重宝で「剣の巻」によれば、多田満仲が筑前国三笠郡土山に来ていた異国の刀工に「髭切」と同時に作らせたもので、罪人を試し斬りしたところ、膝まで切り落としたので、「膝丸」と名付けたとのことです。名刀「膝丸」は、これより時代の波にのまれ、次々と別の持ち主の手に渡っていくこととなります

次なる持ち主は、満仲の嫡子、源頼光が虐病、つまり今日のマラリア病にかかった時のこと、大入道が現れて、頼光に縄をかけようとした。膝丸を抜いて斬りつけます。大入道が血をたらしながら、逃げていった跡をたどって行くと、北野の後ろにある大きな塚に消えていた。塚を崩してみると、4尺（約121.2cm）ほどもある蜘蛛が死んでいたので、それから膝丸を蜘蛛切りと呼んだという逸話も。

頼光はこれを三男の頼基に譲りますが、頼光の甥にあたる源頼義が、奥州の安倍氏討伐に赴く時、朝廷で膝丸とともに召し上げ、頼義に賜ったといいます。頼義より義家ー為義と伝わった膝丸は、夜になると蛇の泣くような声を出すので、吼丸と改名します。太刀が泣くとは、本当なのでしょうか…。それを、為義は娘婿になった熊野の別当、教真に、婿引き出として与えていきます。教真はそれを熊野権現へ寄進します。その後、教真の子、湛増は、源義経が平家追討へ西上して来ると、吼丸を申しくだして、義経へ贈り、義経はそれを、「薄緑」と改名します。

ここで、「薄緑」の名が登場します。薄緑とは、春の山にちなんで名づけらたようで、譲り受けた場所が、春の山を臨むところだったのでしょうか。とまぁ、ここで皆様ご存じ源義経の手に渡るのです。

平家滅亡後、兄頼朝と不仲になった義経は、釈明のため鎌倉に下ったが、追い返されたのは有名なお話ですが、義経はその帰途に、箱根権現に薄緑を寄進するのでした。建久4年（1193）、曽我兄弟が仇討ちに赴く際、その箱根権現の別当、行実は、これを弟の五郎時致に贈ったといいます。その仇討ちがすんだあと、「薄緑」は、頼朝に召し上げられます。源頼朝以後「薄緑」は、島津家の初祖、忠久が、文治2年（1186）、薩摩・大隅・日向の地頭職に輔せられ、薩摩へ下る時、源頼朝より与えられ、その「小十文字の太刀」が、膝丸であって、以後、島津家に伝来したとのこと。南北長期になって、膝丸を継承していた六代目帥久の世子、伊久は、長子の守久が凶暴で、島津家を継ぐ器でないことを見抜き、従兄弟にあたる元久に膝丸を譲った。以後、島津本家の重宝とされたとも。

その後も色々なところに譲り受けられますが、なにせ名刀。ゆえに膝丸は、といわれる名刀は何振か現存しています。現存するものとして、京都の大覚寺の「薄緑」、箱根神社の「薄緑丸」などがありますが、はたして箱根神社の太刀が義経の「薄緑」=膝丸なのか、はたまた大覚寺の太刀が「薄緑」なのか、真相は闇です。

こうやって、名刀は名を様々に変え、さらにミステリーと由来を携え、ますますその名の魅力を放っていくのですね。

しかし、この名刀「薄緑」、この清潔感満載の名とは打って変わって、この太刀と共に移り変わった時代を鑑みると、こんなに重い歴史の場面に立ち会った生き残りのような名刀が他にいるのだろうか。その名に思いを馳せ、刀剣女子の端くれ、ネーミングの沼にどんどんと惹き込まれていくのでありました。

名刀の名前はいろいろ面白そうでしたので、またの機会に調査いたします、それでは。

After that, when Minamoto no Yoshitsune came west to the Heike clan, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a child of Kyoma, offered Hizamaru and gave it to Yoshitsune, who renamed it “light green”. This is where the name “light green” comes into play. It seems that light green is named after the spring mountain, and I wonder if the place I took over was a child facing the spring mountain.

After the slaughter, “light green” is eaten by Yoritomo. After Minamoto no Yoritomo, “light green” was given by Minamoto no Yoritomo when Tadahisa, the founder of the Shimazu clan, was appointed to the priesthood of Satsuma, Osumi, and Hyuga in 1186. It is said that the “small Jumonji sword” was a Knee-maru and was subsequently introduced to the Shimazu family. Iku, the sixth generation Marshal, who had inherited the Hizamaru for a long time from north to south, found out that his firstborn son, Morihisa, was ferocious and was not a vessel to succeed the Shimazu clan, and handed over the Hizamaru to his cousin Motohisa. 皆さま、こんにちは。

スタッフI の前回に引き続き、葛飾北斎の娘・応為（おうい）について綴らせていただきます。

近年注目されているという浮世絵師・葛飾応為は、父・北斎以上の天才肌の持ち主だった_

数多の名作を残した北斎は、その魅力も数多く紹介されています。

本日は、その父・北斎をもうならせる娘・応為の作品をクローズアップです。

こちらにて個人的な勉強、失礼します。

「光と影・明と暗」その興味と感性が爆発！ との見出しより__

まず、『吉原格子先之図（よしわらこうしさきのず）』（1818年～54年ごろ）

これは、”光と影”が強烈な印象を放つ、応為の代表作です。

（浮世絵版画に最も多い”大判”に近い大きさの和紙に描かれた肉筆画で、本などで見る印象より実物はずっと小さいとのこと）

幻想的な雰囲気の色合いは、従来の浮世絵とは違う表現方法かなと素人ながらに感じます。

太田記念美術館主席学芸員の方のインタビューによると、

「灯りに照らされている部分と、そうでない部分。あるいは、灯りによって生まれる人影や物影。もともと日本には”リアルに描く”という意識がなかったので絵に影は必要とされませんでしたが、西洋画が入ってきた１８世紀になって、光と影という意識が芽生えはじめます。この作品は、日本人にとって目新しかった西洋風な絵として見せようとしたのではないかとも考えられています。」とお話しされて

います。

タイトルからお察しの通り、遊女が並ぶ張見世を、男たちが格子越しに覗く様子を描いたこちらは、状況だけ聞くと実に怪しげに見えるかもしれませんが、芸術的観点だと、とってもモダンな印象。

独特な明暗の対比から生まれてくる色合いが、見れば見るほど何とも魅力的な作品であります。

人物が多く描かれていますが、誰もかれもが後ろ姿やシルエット、格子に阻まれているなどで、顔がわからないのも特徴的。

これはどういう意図なのか、何かを暗示しているのかなどと謎のようですが、そこがまた憎いね、応為！と思います。

また、３つの提灯に「応」「為」「栄」の文字が隠し落款として描かれているのも面白いです。

よく言う隠れミッキーのように、制作者はこういうあそびを入れて楽しんでいるのですね。

応為が生きた江戸時代後期、浮世絵の中でも影を描くという手法も用いられてはいましたが、ここまでの表現に高めたのは応為のほかにいなかったとされているよう。

そして最大の見どころは、わずかでも灯りに照らされたところを、墨の濃淡で丁寧に描かれた影の部分だと言われています。

応為が「光と影の魔術師」また「江戸のレンブラント」と呼ばれる所以、納得です。

次の代表的な作品『夜桜美人図』（１９世紀中ごろ）。

「春の夜、石灯籠の灯りで短冊に筆を走らせる若い女性。すらりとした立ち姿も美麗で、応為の美人画としても一級作。夜空の星の色や瞬きの強さなど、細部に目を凝らして見たい作品。」

そんな父の絵をよく学んだであろう応為が描く女性も、”最高に美しい北斎風美人”と言われ、品格が感じられます。

それからきものの柄の花のひとつひとつに雄しべを描き、さらに幾何学模様のような字模様も。

帯はもちろん、襦袢や半襟まで、細かく丁寧に模様を描いているのです。

執拗なまでの細部の描き込みはこちらの作品でもポイントですね。

応為の作品には多色摺り木版画である錦絵は現存せず、１０作にも満たない肉筆画が残るのみだそうです。

北斎の娘でありながら、あまり知られることがなかった葛飾応為。

私たちの想像力をまだまだ掻き立ててくれそうな謎めいた存在です。

“Light and shadow, light and dark” The interest and sensibility explode! From the heading __

First, “Yoshiwara Lattice Sakinozu” (around 1818-54)

This is a masterpiece of response, with “light and shadow” giving off a strong impression.

(It is a hand-drawn drawing drawn on Japanese paper with a size close to “large format”, which is the most common in ukiyo-e prints, and the real thing is much smaller than the impression you see in books etc.)

Even though I am an amateur, I feel that the colors of the fantastic atmosphere are different from the traditional ukiyo-e.

In the latter half of the Edo period, when Oi lived, the technique of drawing shadows was also used in Ukiyo-e, but it seems that there was no other way to improve the expression so far.

I am convinced that the response is called “Magician of Light and Shadow” or “Rembrandt of Edo”.

The next representative work, “Yozakura Bijinzu” (mid-19th century).

Although the whole is dark, I felt that it was not unpleasant darkness with a very soft impression compared to the works of male ukiyo-e artists.

As the distance from the light source increases, the pattern of the kimono decreases and the black area increases, and the shadow and bright areas are well connected by gradation. A lantern is also placed at the bottom right of the work to illuminate her feet, which is unique to women.

The delicate depiction of the dark areas also seems to strongly show the individuality of the response.

Also, maybe because it gives an extreme impression of the contrast between light and shadow, it is also unique that the part that is not exposed to light is painted black (this is rare).

In his late thirties, Hokusai drew a woman with a melon-like face and a good-looking face, and became widely popular as an expression unique to Hokusai.

The woman drawn by Katsushika Oi, who may have learned a lot about her father’s paintings, is said to be “the most beautiful Hokusai-style beauty,” and you can feel her dignity.

She then draws stamens on each of the flowers in the kimono pattern, and also has a geometric pattern.

Not only her obi, but also her undershirt and her half-collar are finely and carefully drawn.

I’m happy that I found something unnatural human body drawing and a mysterious sense of color that is different from Hokusai’s ukiyo-e.

Nishiki-e, which is a multicolored woodblock print, does not exist in the works, and it seems that less than 10 hand-drawn paintings remain.

Katsushika Oi, who was a daughter of Hokusai but was not well known.

It is a mysterious existence that seems to stir up our imagination.
