日本では昔、六月は水無月と言っていました。

梅雨の季節なのに、なんで水が無い月なの？と以前から疑問に思っていたスタッフMです。

 

 

調べてみると、「水の無い月」と書きますが、水が無いわけではなかったようです。

水無月の「無（な）」は、「神無月（かんなづき）」の「な」と同じく、「の」にあたる

連体助詞「な」で、「水の月」という意味なのだそうです。

諸説ありますが、「水の月」に由来する説の中には、田に水を引く時期にあたることからとする説や、

梅雨の時期になることからという説があるそうです。

 

 

水無月といえば、神社では大きな行事がございます。

それが、「水無月の大祓（みなづきのおおはらえ）」です。我が家にも神社からその案内が送られてきました。

それによると、私たちは普段生活をしているなかで、知らず知らずのうちに心身の罪や穢れ、

過ちなどが溜まってきます。

どんなに聖人君主であっても、「この半年間一度も嘘をついたことがありません」という方は

いらっしゃらないですよね。

そういった小さな罪が溜まってくると、清らかな気持ちで日々生活を送れなくなってくるようなのです。

だから、とりあえず、半年間ごとに罪や穢れをまとめて清めましょう！というのが大祓で、

水無月（６月）と師走（１２月）に執り行われます。

 

そういえばスタッフMも罪穢れに関してはたくさん心当たりが…。

例えば、人から頂いた美味しいお土産を、旦那さんに内緒で息子と私だけでこっそり

食べきってしまい、焦った私たちは初めからそんな物は無かったことにしようと

証拠隠滅してしまったことがあったり。

これは、私だけでなく、息子にも罪を背負わせてしまっていますね。いけない母です。(笑)

他にも、まだ１０分以上かかる場所から「もうすぐ着きます！」とメールしてみたり。

そうやって考えると私は罪や穢れだらけです。反省です…。

みなさんはいかがですか？

 

 

でもね、安心してください！

古事記にもありますが、神さまだって罪や穢れを背負うようなことをたくさん起こしています。

かの有名なイザナギの神様もそうです。大好きだった奥さんのイザナミさんが亡くなり、

寂しさゆえに絶対に行ってはいけないと言われていた黄泉の国に足を踏み入れてしまいました。

そこで絶対に見てはいけないと言われていたイザナミさんの今の姿を見てしまい、

あんなにきれいだった奥さんの腐敗した姿に恐怖を感じ、命からがら逃げ帰ってきました。

黄泉の国は死の国なので、そこの穢れを持ってくるわけにはいきません。

そこで、禊祓（みそぎはらえ）が出てくるのです。

「禊」は水で身を清める行為であり、「祓」は身の穢れをはらうために神に祈る行為です。

それを、筑紫の日向の橘の小戸の阿波岐原で行うと、そこから様々な神様が生まれました。

有名なのが天照大神（アマテラスオオミカミ）や月読命（ツクヨミノミコト）、

須佐之男命（スサノオノミコト）などです。

禊をしてすっきりするだけでなく、新たに生み出されるものもあったのですね。

この禊祓を起源として始まったのが大祓で、宮中においても古くから行われてきたようです。

 

 

 

 

風光舎　名古屋店のすぐ裏手にある『城山八幡宮』でも水無月の大祓を執り行ってくださいます。

具体的に大祓ってどういうことをやるのかというと、紙の人形（ひとがた）に氏名と年齢を書き、

人形で自身の頭から足先までなで、自分の息を三度吹きかけ、身についた穢れを人形に移します。

それを６月２９日までに神社に届けると、６月３０日の大祓でご祈祷していただけるようです。

Why is it a month without water even though it is the rainy season? It is staff M who has been wondering for a long time.

 

When I looked it up, I wrote “Moon without water”, but it seems that it was not without water.

Minazuki’s “na” is the adnominal particle “na”, which is equivalent to “no”, like “na” in “Kannazuki”.

It means “water moon”.

There are various theories, but some of the theories derived from “Moon of Water” are that it is the time to draw water to the rice fields.

There seems to be a theory that it will be the rainy season.

 

Speaking of Minazuki, at the shrine, you will be performing the “Minamizuki no Oharae”.

The information was also sent from the shrine to my home.

According to it, in our daily lives, we unknowingly become guilty of physical and mental sins and filth.

Mistakes etc. will accumulate.

No matter how saint the monarch, no one says, “I have never lied to you in the last six months.”

When such small sins accumulate, it seems that you cannot live your daily life with a pure feeling.

So, for the time being, let’s cleanse all the sins and impurities for half a year from New Year to Minazuki!

That seems to be the purpose of Minazuki’s Oharae.

 

Speaking of which, Staff M also has a lot of ideas …

My son and I secretly ate delicious souvenirs from people without telling my husband.

We, who were impatient, have lost evidence in an attempt to make sure that there was no such thing from the beginning.

This is not only for me, but for my son as well. I’m a bad mother. (Lol)

Thinking that way, I’m full of sin and filth. (Especially there are many foods.)

But don’t worry!

As you can see in the Kojiki, God is causing a lot of sins and filth.

So is the famous Izanagi god. My beloved wife, Izanami, died,

I have set foot in the Underworld, where I was told that I should never go because of my loneliness.

There, he saw the current appearance of Mr. Izanami, who was told that he should never see it.

I was afraid of the rotten appearance of my wife who was so beautiful, and I ran away from my life.

The Underworld is a land of death, so we cannot bring in the filth there.

That is where Misogi Harae comes out.

“Misogi” is the act of purifying oneself with water, and “Harae” is the act of praying to God in order to cleanse oneself.

When we did that at Awakigahara in Odo, Tachibana in Hyuga, Tsukushi, various gods were born from there.

Famous ones are Amaterasu Omikami, Tsukuyomi no Mikoto, and Susano Onomikoto.

Etc.

The origin of this Misogi is the Minazuki Oharae, which seems to have been practiced in the Imperial Palace for a long time.

 

At “Shiroyama Hachimangu”, which is just behind the Fukosha Nagoya store, please also perform the Minazuki Otoharae.

Specifically, what to do is to write your name and age on a paper doll (human being) and stroke it from your head to your toes.

Blow your breath three times and transfer the dirt you have acquired to the doll. If you deliver it to the shrine by June 29,

It seems that you can pray at the Oharae on June 30th.

Everyone, if you have a big harae at Shiroyama Hachimangu and it becomes lighter, please drop in at Fukosha while taking a walk!
