台風１４号が温帯低気圧に変わり、とても秋らしい陽気。昨晩はエアコンを消して快適に眠ることができました。

ただ秋分の日から３連休は、日本の南海上で新たな熱帯低気圧が発生する予想で、大雨をもたらす恐れがあり注意が必要だそうです。

せっかくの３連休ですが、雨予想・・以前ブログでも書かせていただきましたが、雨の日は大掃除にもってこいの日なので、皆さまもリフレッシュ兼ねて大掃除をしてみてはいかがでしょうか。

そして大掃除などでで、古い物出てきましたら是非買取させていただきます！！

 

さて。ついに行ってきました。念願の「ボテロ・ふくよな魔法」。

 

 

生誕９０年、巨匠ボテロの大規模展が東京で始まり、ついに名古屋でも７月１６日から始まりました。とっても楽しみにしていたのですが、想像をはるかに超えるくらい面白かったです。

 

以前のブログをまだ読んでいただいてない方もいらっしゃると思いますので、簡単にご紹介させていただきます。

南米コロンビア出身の美術家、フェルナンド・ボテロ（１９３２年～）。１９５０年代後半から欧米で高く評価され、今日では現代を代表する美術家の一人に数えられています。

ボテロに注目が集まったのは１９６３年、ニューヨークのメトロポリタン美術館で、レオナルドダヴィンチの「モナ・リザ」が展覧されたとき、モダンアートの殿堂、ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）のエントランスホールにボテロの「１２歳のモナ・リザ」が展示されたことに始まるそうです。

 

ボテロの作品の特徴づけているのは、あらゆるかたちが膨らんでいるということ。ボテロのモチーフは、人物も動物もふくよかで、果物は熟れきっているかのように膨らみ、楽器や日用品さえも膨張しています。

観る人を惹きつけてやまない、ふくよかでユーモア、時に風刺を交えた独特な作風、そして作品自体の大きさにも圧倒されてしまいました。

そして、本展では２０２０年制作の「モナ・リザの横顔」が世界初公開され、その存在感と９０歳を迎えた今もなお、美術家として探求し続ける気迫の伝わる１枚でした。

 

初期から近年までの油彩、水彩・素描作品など全７０点すべて鑑賞し、ボテロ展のオリジナルグッズなどもいくつか購入して帰ってきました。スタッフMの自宅の冷蔵庫には今まで訪れた展示会で購入したマグネットたちが飾ってあるのですが、また１つ大切なものが増えました。

Typhoon No. 14 turned into an extratropical cyclone, and it was very sunny like autumn. Last night I turned off the air conditioner and was able to sleep comfortably.

However, it is expected that a new tropical cyclone will occur over the sea south of Japan during the three consecutive holidays from the autumnal equinox, and it is likely to bring heavy rain, so caution is required. It’s been a long three-day weekend, but it’s expected to rain… As I wrote on my blog before, rainy days are the perfect days for general cleaning, so why not refresh yourself and do some general cleaning?And if you come across old items during cleaning, etc., we will definitely buy them! !

 

Now. I finally went. The long-awaited exhibition “Botero, Plump Magic”. On the 90th anniversary of his birth, a large-scale exhibition of master Botero began in Tokyo and finally started in Nagoya on July 16th. I was really looking forward to it, but it was so much more fun than I imagined.

 

For those of you who haven’t read my previous blogs yet, let me briefly introduce them.

Fernando Botero (1932-) is an artist from Colombia, South America. Since the late 1950s, he has been highly acclaimed in Europe and the United States, and today he is counted as one of the leading artists of our time. Botero first attracted attention in 1963 when Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The 12-year-old Mona Lisa is said to have been exhibited.

 

What characterizes Botero’s work is that all forms are inflated. In Botero’s motifs, both figures and animals are plump, fruits swell as if they are ripe, and even musical instruments and daily necessities swell. I was overwhelmed by the size of the work itself, as well as the unique style of the work, which is full of humor, sometimes mixed with satire, and which attracts the viewers.

 

In this exhibition, “Mona Lisa’s profile” produced in 2020 was unveiled for the first time in the world, and it was a piece that conveyed its presence and the spirit of continuing to explore as an artist even at the age of 90. We viewed all 70 works, including oil paintings, watercolors, and drawings from the early days to recent years, and purchased some original goods for the Botero exhibition. The refrigerator in Staff M’s home is decorated with magnets that I bought at the exhibitions I’ve visited so far, but there’s one more important item.
