昨日スタッフYのブログでは豊田市美術館で行われているリヒター展についてでしたね、ちょうど行ってみたいと思っていた矢先の更新でしたので予習させてもらうことができました。近いうちに私も行って来たいと思います！

 

さて、本日１２月７日は「クリスマスツリーの日」だそうです。

朝の情報番組で得た情報ですが、生まれて初めてこのような記念日があったことを知りました。

 

もともと１８８６年（明治１９年）、横浜・明治屋に日本初のクリスマスツリーが飾られたとされています。

 

〈明治屋とは：横浜・万代町にて創業した会社で、現在は東京都中央区京橋に本社を置き、食料品、和洋酒類の小売・輸出入、船舶に対する納入業を営む小売業者〉

 

１９００年（明治３３年）に、同社が東京・銀座に進出すると、銀座のクリスマス飾りは広く行われるようになり、同じ頃には神戸でクリスマス用品の生産が始まったそうです。

日本のクリスマス行事は、１９２８年（昭和３年）の朝日新聞紙上で「クリスマスは今や日本の年中行事となり、サンタクロースは立派に日本の子供のものに」と書かれるほど定着していたとか。

 

思い出してみれば、私も昔クリスマスイブには父とパソコンで”サンタクロースが今この地球上のどのあたりにいて、大体何時ころに日本に到着するのか”などサンタクロースの位置情報を教えてくれるサイトでサンタさんを心待ちにしていました。

 

本題に戻りますね。

そもそもクリスマスツリーがなぜ飾られるようになったか、それはドイツ地方の信仰がもとで冬至のお祭りにカシの木に飾りつけをして祝ったことが始まりだそうです。

カシの木は、真冬の寒さでも美しい緑色を保っている常緑樹。寒さの厳しい北ヨーロッパではその美しさ・強さから「永遠の命の象徴」として、大切に扱われてきました。

 

その後キリスト教が広まっていく際に、カシの木からモミの木へと姿を変えて現在まで伝わっているのだそうです。

 

クリスマスツリーというと、鮮やかな緑色で光沢のある人口ツリーを思い浮かべますが、今人気のクリスマスツリーは北欧風の生木なのだとか…

生気のある緑色の葉、部屋中にただようモミの木の香りだ人気の理由だそうですよ。

 

私の家では猫ちゃんがいるため本物のツリーも人口ツリーも飾ることができませんが、小さいオーナメントなど１つ置くだけでも一気にクリスマスムードになりますよね！

Yesterday, Staff Y’s blog was about the Richter exhibition being held at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art. I hope to visit there soon!

 

Well, it seems that today, December 7th, is “Christmas Tree Day”. As for the information I got from the morning information program, I learned that there was such an anniversary for the first time in my life.

 

Originally in 1886 (Meiji 19), it is said that the first Christmas tree in Japan was decorated in Meijiya, Yokohama. <Meidi-ya is a retailer founded in Bandai-cho, Yokohama, currently headquartered in Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, engaged in the retail, import and export of food, Japanese and Western alcoholic beverages, and delivery to ships>

 

In 1900 (Meiji 33), when the company expanded into Ginza, Tokyo, Christmas decorations in Ginza began to be widely used, and around the same time, the production of Christmas goods began in Kobe. In 1928 (Showa 3), the Asahi Shimbun reportedly wrote, “Christmas is now an annual event in Japan, and Santa Claus is a splendid thing for Japanese children.”

 

If I recall, I used to use a computer on Christmas Eve with my father to find out where Santa Claus is on this planet and when he will arrive in Japan. I was looking forward to seeing Santa.

 

Let’s get back to the topic. It seems that the reason why Christmas trees came to be decorated in the first place is that it was celebrated by decorating oak trees at the festival of the winter solstice based on the faith of the German region. The oak tree is an evergreen tree that retains its beautiful green color even in the cold of winter. In northern Europe, where the cold is severe, it has been treated with care as a “symbol of eternal life” due to its beauty and strength.

 

After that, when Christianity spread, it changed its appearance from an oak tree to a fir tree, and it seems that it has been handed down to the present day. When we think of Christmas trees, we think of bright green, shiny artificial trees, but the popular Christmas trees are Scandinavian-style live trees… The lively green leaves and the fragrance of the fir tree that fills the room are the reasons for its popularity.

昨夜のFIFAワールドカップ、日本VSクロアチア戦終わりましたね…。大変残念な結果ではありましたが、帰国の際には「ブラボー！」と歓喜で出迎えたいですね。そして我々は、今日一日寝不足に耐えましょう笑。

 

さてさて、秋晴れの中先日行って参りましたよ。

 

豊田市美術館で開催中の「ゲルハルト・リヒター展。」

 

 

 

 

ドイツ・ドレスデン出身の現代アートの巨匠、ゲルハルト・リヒターは、20世紀後半の最も重要な画家のひとり、そして21世紀の最前線の探求者ともいえる画家でありまして、2022年には、彼の半生を描いた映画も作られたり、芸能人にもファンの方は多いようですが、その個展は日本ではなんと16年ぶりであります。

～10月2日までは東京の国立近代博物館の開催、2022年10月15日～2023年1月29日に、なんと珍しく、ここ愛知県の豊田市美術館で開催されております。

 

現在90歳とご長寿のリヒター。今回は16年ぶりの個展ですが、90歳を迎えた2022年のリヒターが手元に置いてきた初期作から最新のドローイングまでを含む、ゲルハルト・リヒター財団の所蔵作品を中心とする約110点を公開。一貫しつつも多岐にわたる60年の画業を紐解きながらの鑑賞であります。

 

リヒター作品は初めてでしたので予習が足りていませんでしたが、油彩画、写真、デジタルプリント、ガラス、鏡などの素材を用い、その表現の方法はは多岐にわたっておりました。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

また、見た目は抽象絵画ですので、ともすれば現代のおしゃれなアートともとられかねない作品のようですので若いファンも多いのでありますが、その具象表現や抽象表現を行き来しながら人がものを見て認識する原理自体を表すことを一貫し追求し続けてきたことを我々は理解しなければなりません。

 

また彼の作品は、そのものを見るとは単に視覚の問題ではなく、芸術の歴史、ホロコーストなどを経験した 20世紀ドイツの歴史、画家自身やその家族の記憶、そして私たちの固定概念や見ることへの欲望などが複雑に絡み合った営みといえましょうか、作品群を通じて今も直、そのメッセージが伝わって参ります。

 

 

また今回は、リヒター近年の最重要作品であり日本初公開となる4点の巨大な抽象画からなる作品、《ビルケナウ》（2014年）がお目見え。本展では、絵画と全く同寸の4点の複製写真と大きな横長の鏡の作品（グレイの鏡）などを伴って展示されております。

 

 

今回日本初公開の《ビルケナウ》は、その下層においてアウシュヴィッツ・ビルケナウ強制収容所で囚人が隠し撮りした写真を描き写したイメージが隠れております。彼は1960年代以降、ホロコーストという主題に何度か取り組もうと試みたものの、この深刻な問題に対して適切な表現方法を見つけられず断念しておりますが、やっとの思いで2014年にこの作品を完成。自らの芸術的課題から「自分が自由になったと感じた」とリヒターは語っております。

この言葉を聞き、彼が長年持ち続けてきた課題がいかに深刻であったかをかみしめながら鑑賞いたしますと、作品の見方がかわって参ります。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ところでリヒター展、こちら豊田市美術館での展示は東京の会場とは全く違う配置、また豊田会場のにも展示される作品を加えた構成のようであります。

また、東京での展示は大変な人でだったようですが、こちらの豊田会場は広々とした空間の中、リヒターの作品と静かにそしてその空間の中にじっくりと彼の作品と一対一で対峙する贅沢な時間がとれます。また、そんな平和な時間の流れる静かな空間がリヒター作品をさらに引き立てますね。

 

私も、しばらく展示用の椅子に座って贅沢な時間を過ごしておりました。

 

贅沢な中で鑑賞できたリヒターにとっての達成点でありまた転換点にもなった作品《ビルケナウ》。私のような器では、彼がずっと訴えてきたかったメッセージを受け取れたかどうかは定かではありませんが、間近でそのような時間を過ごせる貴重な機会でありました。

 

作者本人のメッセージを汲み取りたいとは思いつつも、絵画の鑑賞は人それぞれでよいかと私は思っております。私もこの作品を通して、彼の伝えたかったこと、はたまた自分のこと、周りのこと、この時代のこと…いろんなことが浮かんでまいりました。

作品を通して何を眺めても考えてもそれは自由ではりありますが、リヒター作品はどことなくそんな一時の時間の入り口をくれる作品のように私には思えました。

 

お時間のあります方は、贅沢なこの空間で、ご自分との対峙や、作品を前にして受け取ることのできるリヒターからのメッセージを是非受け取ってほしいものです。

The other day I went to the “Gerhard Richter Exhibition” at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art under the clear autumn sky.

 

Gerhard Richter Exhibition” at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art.

 

Gerhard Richter, a master of contemporary art from Dresden, Germany, is one of the most important painters of the second half of the 20th century and a forefront explorer of the 21st century. This is the first solo exhibition of his work in Japan in 16 years.

～The exhibition will be held at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo until October 2, 2022, and from October 15, 2022 to January 29, 2023, it will be held at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art in Aichi Prefecture, which is a rarity.

 

Richter is currently 90 years old and long-lived. This is his first solo exhibition in 16 years, and the exhibition features approximately 110 works from the collection of the Gerhard Richter Foundation, including everything from his early works to his latest drawings, which Richter has kept with him since he turned 90 in 2022. The exhibition is a consistent yet diverse look at the artist’s 60 years of work.

 

As this was my first time to see Richter’s work, I had not had enough time to study it beforehand, but I was impressed by the wide variety of methods of expression, including oil paintings, photographs, digital prints, glass, mirrors, and other materials used.

 

His works are abstract in appearance, so they could be considered fashionable contemporary art, and many young people are fans of his works. We must understand that he has been consistently pursuing to express the principle of seeing and perceiving things itself while moving between figurative and abstract expressions.

 

His works are not simply a matter of visual perception, but rather a complex intertwining of the history of art, 20th century German history of the Holocaust, memories of the artist and his family, and our fixed concepts and desires to see. The message is conveyed directly through the works.

 

 

 

The exhibition will also feature “Birkenau” (2014), the most important work of Richter’s recent years and the first time it has been shown in Japan, consisting of four large abstract paintings. The exhibition will be accompanied by four identical-size photographic reproductions of the paintings, as well as a large horizontal mirror (the Gray Mirror).

 

Birkenau, on view for the first time in Japan, is a hidden image on the lower level of the painting, which depicts a hidden photograph taken by a prisoner at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. He has attempted to tackle the subject of the Holocaust several times since the 1960s, but has been unable to find an appropriate way to express this serious issue, and finally completed this work in 2014. Richter said that he “felt himself free” from his own artistic agenda.

Hearing these words, we can see the work in a different light, as we reflect on the seriousness of the issues he has been dealing with over the years.

 

By the way, the Richter exhibition at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art has a completely different layout from the one in Tokyo, and it seems to be composed of additional works that will be exhibited at the Toyota venue as well.

The exhibition in Tokyo was very crowded, but here at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, visitors can enjoy the luxury of confronting Richter’s works one-on-one in a spacious, quiet, and intimate setting. I also find that such a peaceful and tranquil space enhances Richter’s works even more.

 

I, too, spent a luxurious time sitting on a chair for the exhibition for a while.

 

Richter’s “Birkenau,” which I was able to view in such a luxurious setting, was both an accomplishment and a turning point for Richter. I am not sure if a vessel like mine could have received the message he had always wanted to convey, but it was a precious opportunity for me to spend such time up close and personal.

 

While I would like to get the message from the artist himself, I believe that each person’s appreciation of a painting is his or her own. Through this work, I was able to think about what the artist wanted to convey, as well as about myself, my surroundings, this era, and many other things.

It is up to you what you want to see and think through his works, but Richter’s works somehow seem to me to offer an entrance to such a moment in time.

最近、お笑い芸人のハライチのラジオ「ハライチのターン」を聴き始めたのですが、初めに「今週の猫ちゃんニューーース！」というコーナーが猫好きにはたまらなくなってしまいます。

 

 

 

Nも無駄に今日出会った猫ちゃんをブログで紹介しておりましたが、ハライチの岩井さんも猫好きで、誰かに言いたくてたまらないのかもしれません。

そんなNの今日の猫ちゃんニュースは

「黒柴、庭で不審者がいないか警戒」の３本立てとなっております。

 

最後はワンちゃんでしたが、まあよしとしましょう。

 

今日は先月行って来ました、ジブリパークの続きをご紹介いたします。

 

今日ご紹介いたしますのは、青春の丘下にあります、「耳をすませば」月島雫の夢の中をイメージした小道でございます。

 

 

耳をすませばを見たのがだいぶ昔でしたので、どのシーンだっけ？と一瞬思ったのですが、

夢の中で宝石を手に取ったら、ひな鳥の死体だったという衝撃的なシーンを思い出しました。

夢占いが好きでよくするのですが、鳥が死ぬ夢や死骸を見る夢は、物事の節目を意味しているそうです。

 

悲しい夢ですが、決して凶夢ではなく、物事が好転していく吉夢。

 

今は辛く厳しい状況にあるかもしれませんが、解決策が見つかり、近いうちに長いトンネルから抜けることができます。

また自分のコンプレックスを克服したり、自分の短所を長所だと思えたり、ポジティブな気持ちに変わるでしょう。新しいスタートだと思い前向きに捉えてください。

 

とあるので、月島雫が小説家としての才能を不安に思っている気持ちが夢にあらわれたのではないでしょうか。

 

ちなみにNは昔、逃げる夢、空を飛ぶ夢を昔よく見ておりました。

 

現実逃避がしたかったのでしょうか？

Today, I would like to introduce you to a path in the image of Shizuku Tsukishima’s dream, located at the foot of Seishun no Oka.

 

 

 

It’s been a long time since I saw Whispers, so which scene was it? I thought for a moment,

I remembered a shocking scene in a dream in which I picked up a jewel and found it to be the corpse of a chick.

I like dream fortune-telling and often do it, but it seems that the dream of a bird dying or seeing a corpse means a turning point in things.

 

It’s a sad dream, but it’s not a nightmare, it’s a good dream that things will turn around.

 

It may be tough right now, but we have found a solution and will soon be out of the long tunnel.

You will also overcome your own complexes, think of your weaknesses as strengths, and change into a positive feeling. Think of it as a new start and take it positively.

 

Therefore, it seems that the dream showed that Shizuku Tsukishima was worried about her talent as a novelist.

 

By the way, N used to have dreams of running away and flying in the sky.

店内でブログを書いておりましたら、目の前の車の窓から顔を出しているパグと目が合ってしまいまして、思わず笑ってしまいました。

 

風をあびながらのドライブ、わんちゃんも楽しそうですね。

 

しかし、今日の気温は１０度なので寒くないのか心配です。

 

サッカー日本勝利おめでとうございます。

 

Nは夜型なので朝がとても弱く、試合の日は爆睡しておりました。

 

友人から、サッカー関連のラインが来て気づきました。

 

アメトークのサッカー大好き芸人は見ましたので、選手の名前はなんとなくわかります。

 

好きなモデルやアイドルがサッカー選手と結婚してたり、違うところから情報が入ってくるので、どこから入ってもサッカーに辿りついてしまう気が致します。

 

テーマソングも印象的で、Dragon ashのFANTASISTAを思い出してしまいます。

 

NHKですと、SHISHAMOの「明日も」、椎名林檎の「NIPPON」、サカナクションの「青い」もいいですね。

 

そういえば、小学生の時に至近距離で大柄の男の子の蹴ったボールを顔面で受け、保健室に行ったのを思い出しました。

 

絶対に鼻が折れたと思いましたが、鼻がやわらかいのが特技だからかなんともありませんでした。

 

さて、Nの顔面サッカーボール直撃事件はどうでもよく、先日知人からブルーインパルスの写真が送られてきました。

 

 

1872（明治5）年11月27日に、現在の愛知県が誕生してから、2022年で150周年を迎えます。

 

愛知県では、この記念すべき節目の年を県内全体で盛り上げていくため、2022年11月26日土曜日に、愛知県内上空において航空自衛隊のブルーインパルスによる展示飛行を実施したようです。

 

6機が上空で旋回して6つの輪を重ね合わせサクラの花を描く、さくら

 

2機が上空でハートを描く、ビッグハート

 

5機が傘型隊形で進入して上空で5方向に散開、レベルサンライズ

 

6機のデルタ隊形でスモークを焚（た）いて上空を通過、デルタ・ローパス

 

などなど、色々楽しむことができたようです。

 

他にも危険そうな技がたくさんHPに乗っていたので、家に帰ってYouTubeで見てみたいと思います。

 

送られてきた写真は、前日練習だったようですが、かっこいいですね。

 

Nは実際に見れなかったので、名古屋城で見た方が羨ましいです。

 

ファンも多いブルーインパルス、HPのスケジュールを見てみますと、年間で色々な県でイベントが行われているみたいですね。

 

名古屋に来るのは、今年は今回だけのようでしたので、レアですね。

 

今回はブルーインパルスについて調べてみました。

 

ブルーインパルスとは、航空自衛隊の存在を多くの人々に知ってもらうために、航空自衛隊の航空祭や国民的な大きな行事などで、華麗なアクロバット飛行(これを展示飛行と呼びます)を披露する専門のチームでございます。

 

正式名称は、宮城県松島基地の第４航空団に所属する「第11飛行隊」。

 

青と白にカラーリングされた6機の機体が、大空で展開する一糸乱れぬフォーメーション、そしてダイナミックなソロ演技――次から次へ繰り広げられる驚異のパフォーマンスは、初めて観る人にとっては驚きの連続ですよね。

 

初代機体であるF-86Fは、アメリカから供与された当時の主力戦闘機でございます。

 

ブルーインパルスF-86Fは、1960年8月、浜松基地第1航空団第2飛行隊内に｢空中機動研究班｣として誕生いたしました。

 

東京オリンピックで五輪の輪、大阪万博開会式でEXPO’70の文字を空に描いたことで知られています。

21年間に545回の公式展示飛行を行ったそうです。

 

また映画制作協力をきっかけに映画会社のデザイナーが担当した塗装案が有名です。

 

それによって、“F-86ブルー”のイメージは完全に定着したのです。

 

国産のT-2超音速高等練習機を使用する、2代目ブルーインパルスは、1982年1月、松島基地第4航空団第21飛行隊内に｢戦技研究班｣として発足しました。

 

T2はF-86Fに比べて高速性能を重視した機体で、長い助走を使った力強い演技がファンを魅了、特に5番機による“単独機最大能力旋回”は、そのダイナミック音と動きが多くのファンに支持されました。

 

三沢基地航空祭でアメリカ空軍の｢サンダーバーズ｣とも競演しています。

 

14年間に175回の公式展示飛行を行ったそうです。

 

ブルーインパルスは松島基地(第11飛行隊)で見学できるそうです。

 

見学希望日の1ヶ月前までに予約、見学は月曜日から金曜日(祝日は除く。）までのようです。

 

またひとつ行きたいところが増えました。

 

アクロバット飛行専門の飛行隊が立ち上がったのは、１９９５年のことで、ブルーインパルスのパイロットの任期は３年とされました。

 

１年目はＴＲ（訓練待機）として演技を修得します。

 

展示飛行のときには、ナレーションを担当し、また後席に搭乗します。

２年目はＯＲ（任務待機）として展示飛行を行います。

３年目は展示飛行を行いつつ、担当ポジションの教官として、ＴＲメンバーに演技を教育します。

 

ブルーインパルスのパイロットは全国の飛行機部隊から選ばれた精鋭揃いで、日々厳しいトレーニングを積んで、華麗なテクニックを磨いているそうです。

 

ドルフィンキーパー達の任務は、ブルーインパルスの「操縦」を除く全てです。

 

ドルフィンキーパーは、大きくサポートスタッフとメンテナンスに分類されます。

 

中でも整備員は「機付」として３名が一組となって常に同じ機体を管理します。

 

機体の癖を熟知し、パイロットの指摘に応じて完璧な調整を施し、機体を磨き上げます。

「ブルーインパルスの華麗な展示飛行を、豊富な経験と高い技術力で支える。」のが、ドルフィンキーパーズです。

 

愛知県出身の方や、女性の方も何人かいらっしゃいまして、思わず「えええ、かっこいい！！」と言ってしまいました。

 

そんなブルーインパルスになる条件は

• 航空自衛隊に入隊していること
• パイロットになる為の航空身体検査に合格していること
• 身長：１５８ｃｍ～１９０cmであること
• 裸眼視力：０.１以上、矯正視力：１.０以上であること
• 操縦訓練をしてウイングマーク（操縦技能証明）取得後、戦闘機の訓練を受けていること

だそうです。

 

そして、倍率は２６倍だとか。

 

給料が特別高いわけでもなく、他の自衛隊の配属先と同じだそうです。

 

女性パイロットもまだ出ていないそうなので、今後に期待ですね。

書かずにはいられない、歴史を変える試合となった日本vsスペイン。

午前３時４５分からアラームを５分おきにかけた方、多くいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。

 

 

前半スペインの先制ゴールで終わり、後半が始まると開始3分で堂安が同点。そしてその３分後、三苫がギリギリラインで折り返したボールを田中が押し込んで逆転。

眠気も吹き飛ぶような展開、VARがこんなにも役立つなんて…と感謝と感心しつつ、残り時間が本当に長く感じました。

 

スペインに歴史的逆転勝利し予選グループトップ通過が決まった今、次の試合も必勝でベスト８を目指してほしいですね。

 

サッカーのお話の最後は「ブラボー」で締めたいと思います。

ここ名古屋、昨日から少々お天気が荒れ模様でして、つい先だってとはガラッと変わって、今朝は案の定どんよりとした冬の寒い朝でありました。今日から冬ですね笑。

みなさまも地域もそろそろ冬の足音が近づいてきていますでしょうか。

 

そう、気が付くと本日から12月師走。私、大変驚いております。なぜならば、まだ冬のしっかりしたコート今年はまだ袖を通していなく…。このところ、寒さを感じぬまま年末の声が聞こえるからなのでしょうか、どうも季節の歩みが崩れ、時に駆け足で追いつかなくてはならない時もございますね。昨日は、ちょうどそのような感覚でありました。

 

先日のスタッフＭのブログではないですが、12月に入り古美術風光舎のブログもこのように冬の模様や年末年始のバタバタと走り抜ける模様をお伝えすることになるかと思いますが、どうかお付き合いくださいませ。

 

さて、そんな師走でありますが、古美術風光舎名古屋店でのこの一年を私なりにちょっと振り返ってみました。（急にどうした？）

 

今年一年、古美術風光舎におみえになる多くのお客様と接してまいりましして、このところ多いご相談は、ご実家のお片付けでありました。本当に多いです。

お寂しいことではありますが親御さんのいらっしゃらなくなったご実家のお片付けをしたく、ご依頼を受けることが多く、ご自分はすでにここ愛知にいらっしゃらないようで他県から帰省されてご実家の片づけをされている方もいらっしゃいます。

 

また、このところの断捨離や生前整理と言う言葉も相まって、ご自宅の物をそろそろコンパクトしたい、片づけないと子供たちに迷惑がかかるから何とかしたいとの依頼もございます。昭和世代の皆様、物をたくさん持っておりまして、どうしようかとお悩みの方も。

 

特にご依頼が多かったのは、掛軸、茶道具、絵画、版画、陶磁器焼物などでしょうか。また、美術品、貴金属、古いおもちゃ、カメラ、刀剣のご依頼もございました。（刀剣は譲り受けた方がどうしてよいものかわからない方もいらっしゃいましたので、そのような際は是非ともご相談ください。）

Yes, I realize that today is the first day of December. I am very surprised. I am still not wearing my winter coat this year, because I have yet to put it on. Perhaps it is because we hear the sound of the end of the year without feeling the cold, but the pace of the season seems to be slipping and sometimes we have to rush to catch up with it. Yesterday, I had just such a feeling.

I am sure that the blog of Fumikosha will be a report on the winter season and the flurry of activities during the year-end and New Year holidays, but please bear with me.

 

Now that the season has come and gone, I thought I would take a moment to look back on the past year at the Nagoya branch of Fumikosha Antiques. (What’s going on all of a sudden?)

 

 

In the past year, I have met with many customers who came to Fumikosha, and recently, the most common consultation was the cleaning out of their parents’ house. It is really common.

It is sad to say, but we receive many requests to clean up their parents’ houses that they no longer live in Aichi.

 

Also, with the recent trend of “decluttering” and “living arrangement,” we have received requests from people who want to downsize their homes and do something about their children who will be inconvenienced if they don’t put their things away. The Showa generation has a lot of stuff, and some of them are worried about what to do with it.

 

The most frequently requested items were hanging scrolls, tea ceremony utensils, paintings, prints, ceramics, and pottery. We also received requests for works of art, precious metals, old toys, cameras, and swords. (Some of the recipients did not know what to do with the swords, so please contact us if you have any questions.)

 

Everyone has many fond memories of the items that they have used and cherished near and dear to them over the years, and they talk about them with great fondness. However, there are many situations where we have to let go of items due to lifestyle changes or other unavoidable reasons. Some of you are cleaning up slowly and systematically, while others are doing it quickly because the client is far away.

 

Looking at the piles of items that have been put away at the house we are asking about, it must have been a lonely but important time to look back on memories, whether slowly or quickly. Although the treasured items are no longer in your home, we hope that you will always cherish the memories of those items that you cherished in your parents’ home. In addition, in dealing with such customers, I have thought several times over the past year that we should treasure the items along with everyone’s feelings so that they can be passed on to the next person who will cherish them.

皆さま、こんにちは。スタッフMです。

今朝通勤しておりましたら、道路にきれいに色づいたイチョウの葉がたくさん落ちていて、車を走らせると落ち葉が踊るように舞っていてとても美しく少し気分が晴れやかになりました。

 

 

ちょうど紅葉も一番の見頃を迎え、一気に秋が過ぎ冬に近づいている気がします。

明日から１２月、師も走るような忙しい月が始まります。

 

この間のハロウィンではクリスマスはまだまだと感じていたのに、あっという間にクリスマスの時期が近づき、早いものでもう１年の終わりを迎えようとしています…年を重ねるごとに、時の流れを早く感じます。

 

少し早い気はしますが、皆さま年賀状のご準備はいつ頃から始められますか？

私は、小学生～中学生の頃は年賀状のやりとりをしていましたが、高校生くらいからだったか、鮮明には覚えておりませんが、いつしか年賀状を出さなくなってしまいました。

そして年明けのご挨拶はもっぱらLINEにて済ませてしまうのが毎年恒例に。

 

昔は年賀状を送りたい相手の住所を聞いたりすることが楽しみだったり、冬休み年賀状をやりとりすることで会えない友人と繋がれているような気持ちになって嬉しかったりしました。

スマートフォンが浸透するようになってからでしょうか…年賀状という文化がなくなりつつあるのは。

 

ただそんな私今年は年賀状を出してみようかと考えております。

というのも、コロナ禍で会いたい人にも会えなかったりする状況で、誰かと繋がりを持ちたいという気持ちや、スマホばかりで文字を書くという機会が減ってきている中で、気持ちを文字にすることの大切さが今になって少しずつ分かってきたりしたのです。

 

あともうひとつ、ここ最近ほぼ毎日連絡を取っている友達からクリスマスカードが届いたのです。

毎日LINEをしている相手から突然手紙をもらい、なんだか恥ずかしくもありましたが心の底から温かい気持ちになりました。

手軽でスピーディーなやりとりももちろん便利ですが、手紙を書いているとき、相手のことを考えて文字にする時間だったり、後からモノとして残ることで何年経っても当時の気持ちを思い出せるという部分も手紙の良さだと感じます。

 

今年の年賀状の受付開始は例年通り、１２月１５日からだそうです。

今年、少しでも時間がある方は大切な人や身近な人に新年の挨拶を年賀状で出してみるのはいかがでしょうか。

出す側も、受け取る側もきっと温かい気持ちになること間違いなしです！

先日からお店に飾っております竹細工が繊細かつ大胆でして、大変目を引きます。

 

 

 

 

美しいですね。職人はどなたか存じ上げませんが、経年により飴色になっている竹がさらに陰影を生み出し、その細工の細かさや、しなやかさををより引きたてておりますね。竹細工をみておりますと、日本人の手先の器用さや、この地で育ったものと上手に共存していく器用さなどなど、日本のいいところをぎゅっと詰め込んでるなぁと常々思わされております。

 

竹のその種類は日本でも600種類と多く、日本国中に自生。温暖化によって竹の生育地は広がりつつあり、最近はちょっと厄介者の扱いこそされますが、竹稈(ちくかん) が空洞で軽いわりに強く、表面は滑らかで、弾力性があり、湾曲しやすく、裂いたりして加工がしやすいと、万能な素材であると言えましょう。

 

 

 

 

その特性は、種類によって多少の違いはあるものの、竹稈(ちくかん) が空洞で軽いわりに強く、表面は滑らかで、弾力性があり、湾曲しやすく、裂いたりして加工がしやすいことが挙げられます。また、他の植物 に比べて生長が速く、長く利用できることから生活道具の素材として重宝されており、まあどのお宅にも竹の製品はお持ちでしょうから、みなさまその素晴らしさはとっくにおわかりのことでしょう。さらに食材にもなる竹（たけのこ）は、春を知らせる代表的な食材。ここも外せませんね。

 

先ほど述べたように竹にも種類によってそれぞれの特徴があります。それぞれの特性を生かし生活用具や農具、漁具、楽器など様々な竹工品がつくられているのですが、日本三大有用竹のなかでもマダケとハチクは主に使われているようです。

 

マダケは、直径13cm、高さ20ｍにもなる大型種で、青森県より以北ではあまり見られませんが、各種の竹材の中で最も弾力性に富んだ性質を持つため、建築資材や楽器、花器、農具や漁具などの材料として使われております。尺八、竹垣、釣り具などでしょうか。

 

また、ハチクは直径10cm、高さは15ｍにもなるのですが、マダケよりも寒さに強く、北海道南部まで分布しており、節の低さが特長。肉が薄く繊維が緻密で竹材中最も細く割りやすい性質から、茶筅 (ちゃせん) などの茶道具に利用されることが多いようです。

そんな竹細工の日本では長い歴史の中での名品を調べてみますと、様々な竹工品がつくられておりますよ。そのほとんどが生活用具であったが、実用性と美しさを兼ね備えた名品が残されております。

 

竹は腐朽しやすい性質から保存は難しいのですが、その歴史はなんと縄文時代にまでさかのぼります。底面に網代 (あじろ) の痕がついた縄文式土器が発掘されたり、青森県の是川遺跡の竹で編んだ器に漆を塗り重ねた籃胎漆器 (らんたいしっき) が出土したりしていており、木材や石材と同じように身近な素材として古くから様々な用途に用いられていたことがわかります。

 

 

 

 

古く有名なものですと「東大寺の華籠 (けこ) 」。

竹の薄板を編んでつくった籠でして、仏教の儀式で撒く花びらを盛るために利用されたようです。深めの形と浅めの形があり、底裏の墨書から聖武天皇の一周忌斎会に用いられたと考えられております。

 

また、「法隆寺の竹厨子 (たけずし) 」は、奈良時代の経巻を納めた竹製の厨子でして、国宝に指定されております。実はですね、先日の国宝展にてラッキーなことに実際に拝見できたんですよ。

 

こちらは主に中国南部に自生する篠竹 (すずたけ) の一種と考えられる竹が使われているようでして、細い竹を丁寧に並べそれらを箱状に作り上げております。箱状の屋根や柱の修理箇所には日本産の竹も見られるようで、修理しながら大切に使われていたのでしょう。

法隆寺献納宝物の一つでして、法隆寺東院伽藍を建立した行信 (ぎょうしん） 僧都が、聖徳太子の様々な遺品とともに奉納したと言われております。すでに1000年以上たった竹、もう飴色を通り越して黒墨のようでありましたが、その繊細さはその黒墨の中にもまだのこっております。

 

また茶道具でいいますと（名物はたくさんありますが）千利休の竹花入「園城寺」などが有名でしょうか。

こちらは千利休が小田原攻めに同行した際に、伊豆韮山 (にらやま) で採った竹に一重の切り込みを入れたもの。表面の千割れを園城寺の釣鐘の割れにちなみ、園城寺と名付けられたようです。利休の侘び茶の美意識を投影した名品として名高い名物であります。

 

その後も日本各地ではそれぞれ特色のある竹工品が発展し、私たちの生活と共に生きてまいりましたが、現在竹細工で有名な地域ですと、奈良県の高山茶筅、静岡県の駿河竹千筋細工 (するがたけせんすじざいく) 、岡山県の勝山竹細工、大分県の別府竹細工が挙げられる地域でしょうか。それらは伝統的工芸品に指定されております。

 

ですが、竹細工、竹林の荒廃や技術の後継者問題やなど課題は多いことも確か。現在は伝統にとらわれず現代の暮らし、価値観に合わせた商品づくりで注目を集めたり、用途を変えて活躍したりする竹工品を生み出したりと竹細工の進化も気になりますが、竹は、さらに抗菌・消臭作用があることから、消臭剤や建築材など別の観点からも見直されつつあるようです。

 

本日は、「竹細工の歴史もすごいけど、これからの竹細工の進化もよろしく。」と、飴色の竹が教えてくれた午後でありました。

The delicate and bold bamboo works that have been displayed in our store since the other day are very eye-catching.

It is beautiful. I don’t know who the craftsman is, but I think that the bamboo, which has become candy-colored with age, creates shadows and enhances the fineness and suppleness of the workmanship. When I look at bamboo crafts, I am always impressed by the dexterity of the Japanese people’s hands and their ability to coexist with things grown in this region.

 

There are as many as 600 species of bamboo growing naturally throughout Japan. Although bamboo is now regarded as a bit of a nuisance due to global warming, it is a versatile material, with its hollow, lightweight yet strong, smooth surface, elasticity, and ease of bending, tearing, and processing.

 

Although there are some differences between species, bamboo culms are hollow, light, but strong, with a smooth, resilient surface that is easy to bend, tear, and process. Bamboo grows faster than other plants and can be used for a long time, making it useful as a material for daily utensils. Bamboo is also used as a foodstuff, and bamboo shoots are a typical foodstuff that announces spring. This is also a good place to start.

 

As mentioned earlier, each type of bamboo has its own characteristics. Various bamboo crafts such as daily tools, farming tools, fishing tools, and musical instruments are made by taking advantage of their characteristics, and among the three most useful bamboo species in Japan, madake and hachiku are mainly used.

 

Madake is a large species, reaching 13 cm in diameter and 20 m in height, and although it is rarely seen north of Aomori Prefecture, it is used as a material for building materials, musical instruments, flower vases, farming tools, and fishing tackle because it is the most resilient of all bamboo species. Hachiku can reach 10 cm in diameter and 15 m in height. It is more resistant to cold than Madake, and is distributed as far as southern Hokkaido, where it is characterized by its low knots. If you look into the long history of bamboo crafts in Japan, you will find a wide variety of bamboo crafts. Most of them were tools for daily life, but there are still some masterpieces that combine practicality and beauty.

 

Bamboo is difficult to preserve due to its tendency to decay, but its history dates back to the Jomon period. Jomon-style earthenware with an “ajiro” pattern on the underside has been excavated, as well as bamboo woven vessels coated with lacquer in the Koregawa site in Aomori Prefecture, indicating that bamboo, like wood and stone, was a familiar material used for a variety of purposes from ancient times.

 

One of the most famous examples is the “Keko (flower basket) of Todaiji Temple.

It is a basket made of woven thin bamboo sheets, and was used to hold flower petals to be scattered during Buddhist ceremonies. There are two types of baskets, deep and shallow, and it is thought that they were used for the first anniversary of Emperor Shomu’s death, according to the calligraphy on the back of the bottom.

 

The “Bamboo Kitchen of Horyuji Temple” is a bamboo kitchen that housed sutra scrolls from the Nara period and is designated as a National Treasure. I was lucky enough to see it at the National Treasure Exhibition the other day.

 

The bamboo used in this piece is believed to be a type of bamboo native to southern China, and is made of thin bamboo carefully arranged to form a box shape. Japanese bamboo can be seen in the repaired parts of the box-shaped roof and pillars, and it is likely that the bamboo was carefully used while being repaired.

It is said that Gyoshin, the monk who built the Toin complex of Horyuji Temple, dedicated the bamboo along with various relics of Prince Shotoku. The bamboo, more than 1,000 years old, has already passed the candy color and is like black ink, but its delicacy can still be seen in the black ink.

 

In terms of tea ceremony utensils (of which there are many famous ones), “Sonjoji,” a bamboo vase by Sen no Rikyu, is probably the most famous.

This is a bamboo vase with a single slit cut into it, which Sen no Rikyu collected in Nirayama, Izu, when he accompanied Odawara on his attack on Odawara. The name “Sonjoji” is derived from the cracks on the surface of the bell of Sonjoji Temple. It is a famous masterpiece that projects Rikyu’s aesthetic sense of wabicha (tea ceremony in the wabi-style).

 

Today, the most famous bamboo crafts are the Takayama Chasen (tea whisk) in Nara Prefecture, Suruga bamboo Senjisuji-zaiku in Shizuoka Prefecture, Katsuyama bamboo craft in Okayama Prefecture, and Beppu bamboo craft in Oita Prefecture. These are designated as traditional crafts.

 

However, there are certainly many problems with bamboo crafts, such as the deterioration of bamboo forests and the problem of successors to the craft. Today, the evolution of bamboo crafts is also a matter of concern, with the creation of products that are not bound by tradition but are in tune with modern lifestyles and values attracting attention, and the creation of bamboo crafts that can be used for different purposes.

 

Today, I would like to say, “The history of bamboo crafts is great, but please look forward to the future evolution of bamboo crafts.” The candy-colored bamboo taught me this afternoon.
