Hello everyone. The warmth is increasing day by day, and spring-like days are continuing. How are you doing The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and some people are watching the cherry blossoms while being careful to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The cherry blossoms in Nagoya bloomed much earlier than usual. It seems that it was the fastest in the history of observation, and flowering was announced on March 17th. The expected full bloom date is March 27, which is earlier than normal. It seems that the cherry blossoms around Nagoya Castle are already in full bloom. It seems that there are about 1000 (!) Cherry blossoms, mainly Yoshino cherry trees and weeping cherry trees. The collaboration between the beautiful cherry blossoms and the castle is a masterpiece.

Nagoya Castle is a well-known symbol of Nagoya, isn’t it? It is also designated as one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles and a national special historic site. The origin of such Nagoya Castle is said to be “Yanaginomaru” built by Ujichika Imagawa in the first half of the 16th century. Nobuhide Oda seems to have lived there for a while after he seized this castle. It is said that Nobunaga Oda, his son and one of the Sanei-Ketsu, was born in this castle.

Nagoya Castle is also known as Kinshachi Castle, and the Kinshachi raised in the castle tower can be said to be a symbol among the symbols of Nagoya. Such gold killer whales usually shine on the castle tower. It seems that he has reigned on the ground only twice so far. The first time was in 1984. At the Meijo Expo, which was held as an event for the 25th anniversary of the reconstruction of Nagoya Castle. And the second time is 2005. At the Nagoya Castle Expo in the New Century, which was held in conjunction with the Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan. It was a great success, mobilizing more than 1.2 million people in three months.

And this spring! A killer whale is reigning on the ground with a wish for the eradication of the plague and reconstruction. It was an exhibition inside the castle twice in the past, but this time it is planned to be a long-term exhibition outside the castle, and it seems that it is the first long-term exhibition outside the castle in about 150 years.

In the Nagoya Castle Kinshachi Special Handbook, it seems that they want you to “experience” Kinshachi. They plans to see the killer whale up close and even touch it with our hands. (Surprised!)
