侍ジャパン、１４年ぶり世界一おめでとうございます！！！

やはり本日はこの話題から始めるしかないです。私もスタッフYと同じくにわかファンではありますが、それでも日本中、いや世界中の方々が本日の決勝戦応援を送っていたのではないでしょうか。

 

今朝お店まで歩いている途中、すれ違う方々みなさんスマホを片手にWBCを観戦しているようで、もちろん私もラジオ越しに応援していたのですが、試合に動きがあると一斉に私たちの動きが止まるのです（笑）それくらい皆で熱い応援を送っていたということですね。

そんな私たちの想いも現地で戦う選手たちに届いたのか、村神様こと村上選手がソロホームランで同点に追いつき、あれから一気に流れが変わったように感じました。

続いてヌートバー選手のファーストゴロの間に１点勝ち越し、粘り強いピッチングでアメリカの攻撃を封じ、４回裏に岡本選手に２号ソロが飛び出し２点もリード。

解説でも語られていましたが、”日本は追い込まれた先の強さがある”と。今回の試合でも昨日の試合でもまさに感じましたね。

 

８回裏にダルビッシュ選手が２号ソロで１点差に詰められてしまったものの、最後大谷選手がエンゼルス同僚のトラウト選手との対戦の末、空振り三振を奪い、１点リードを守り抜き、１４年ぶり＆３大会ぶりとなる通算三度目のWBC制覇となりました。

やはりスポーツは私たちに感動と勇気を与えてくれます。

そしてSNSなどでは、最後ダルビッシュ選手→大谷選手の流れが「完全に漫画のフィナーレで感動する」や、「夢リレー」などと様々な歓喜のコメントで溢れていて未だに興奮冷めやらぬ状態でブログ綴っております。いや、きっと数日は余韻に浸ってしまいます・・・

 

最後、栗山監督、ダルビッシュ選手、大谷選手、そしてヌートバー選手の胴上げまでしっかり見届けて、いざ勤務に。

余談ですが、WBC決勝をテレビなどでライブ観戦したくて学校や仕事を休みたい人へ向けて、「MLB Japan」の公式Twitterが特製の”休暇届”を用意したそうです（笑）

上記のように勤務先や学校に臨時休を願い出るまさかの公式フォーマットにかなりの大反響のようでして、実際に通用するかどうかはさておきユーモアたっぷりで笑ってしまいました。

 

さて今日はすみやかに帰宅して、お祝いのビールでも飲みながらハイライトで盛り上がりたいと思います。

After all, sports give us excitement and courage. And on SNS, etc., the flow of Darvish to Otani at the end is full of various comments such as “I’m completely moved by the finale of the manga” and “Dream relay”, and I’m still writing blogs in a state where my excitement hasn’t cooled down.
