本日は朝からしとしとと雨が降り一段と冷えます。一昨日くらいからカイロデビューもして冬の準備万端です。皆様も体調にはお気を付けください。

 

さて、毎年この時期になりますと発表される”今年の漢字”が京都・清水寺で今年も発表されました。

京都に本部を置く「日本漢字能力検定協会」が一般募集したところ、応募総数２２万３７６８票のうち、１万８０４票を集めたのが「戦（せん・たたかう）」の文字。

この「戦」が選ばれたのは、アメリカ同時多発テロが発生した２００１年以来２度目だそうです。

 

この字が選ばれた理由として、ロシアのウクライナ侵攻や、北朝鮮の相次ぐミサイル発射など戦争を意識したこと、そしてまた円安や物価高など身近な戦いが影響したこと、あとはここ最近話題のサッカーワールドカップや北京五輪等スポーツでの熱戦などが挙げられたそうです。

 

思い返してみれば、今年は悲しいことがたくさんあったような印象が強いですね…来年こそ、戦が終わり、皆が心安らかに日々を送れるような年になってほしいです。

 

私もこれを機に考えてみたところ、今年の漢字は「変」かもしれません。

今年何があったか思い出してみたときに、こちらのお仕事を始めたり、引っ越ししたり、姪っ子が生まれたりなどたくさんの変化がありました。

この１年バタバタであっという間に終わってしまうような…

私の来年の抱負は余裕を持つということでしょうか（笑）

 

早速この間、気持ちに余裕を持ちたいと思って本屋さんでマイブックというものを買いました。

１日１ページ、３６５日分の日付だけが入った本で、手帳として使ってもよし、日記をつけてみてもよし、１年後には２０２３年の思い出がぎっしり詰まった自分だけの本になるというものです。

 

以前ブログでも、スマホばかりに頼っている今、気持ちや言葉を文字にして書くことが減った今、自分の感情を記しておくことの大切さを改めて感じました。そこで毎日書くということを欠かさず続けるということ（←私大の苦手なのです）を目標にチャレンジしてみたいと思います。

 

来年の終わりにはもしかしたらマイブックを使って１年を思い出して”スタッフMの今年の漢字”を発表しているかもしれません。

It’s been raining since morning and it’s getting colder. About the day before yesterday, I made my Cairo debut and I’m ready for winter. Everyone please take care of yourself.

 

By the way, the “Kanji of the Year”, which is announced every year around this time, was announced at Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. When the Japan Kanji Proficiency Test Association, which has its headquarters in Kyoto, solicited general entries, the characters for “Sen-Takau” received 10,804 votes out of a total of 223,768.

It seems that this “war” has been selected for the second time since 2001 when the terrorist attacks occurred in the United States.

 

The reason why this character was chosen is that it was conscious of war, such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and North Korea’s successive missile launches, and also that familiar battles such as the weak yen and high prices had an impact. It seems that hot competition in sports such as the World Cup and the Beijing Olympics was mentioned.

 

Looking back, I have a strong impression that there were many sad things this year.

I also took this opportunity to think about it, and this year’s kanji might be “hen”. When I tried to remember what happened this year, there were many changes such as starting a new job, moving house, and having a niece. This year has been so busy that it seems like it’s going to end in the blink of an eye…I guess my next year’s resolution is to have some leeway .

 

The other day, I wanted to have some peace of mind, so I bought a book called My Book at a bookstore. It is a book with one page per day and only dates for 365 days. You can use it as a notebook or keep a diary. After a year, it will be your own book filled with memories of 2023. That’s what it means.

 

Even in my previous blog, now that I rely only on my smartphone, and now that I don’t write down my feelings and words in writing, I once again felt the importance of writing down my feelings. Therefore, I would like to challenge myself with the goal of continuing to write every day (← I am not good at it at my university).

At the end of next year, I may be using my book to recall the past year and announce “Staff M’s Kanji of the Year”.
