美術史小説の名手・原田マハさん著『楽園のカンヴァス』。

こちらの本、随分前に購入したのに恥ずかしながら本棚に眠らせたままでした。

そして先日、読了いたしました。（皆さま、今さらとお思い⁈）

 

山本周五郎賞を受賞されているこちらの作品。

”MoMA 勤務経験を生かした原田マハの真骨頂！”と帯にありましたが、確かに私たち読者にもその勤務の一端を体験させてくれたように思います。

読書の面白さは映像化にはない、自分自身の想像力次第で物語がどんどんと創造されていくところではないでしょうか。

特に小説は、自分好みの情景が頭の中で描けて、現実逃避にはもってこいですよね。

今回は作品の構成からNY、スイスのバーゼル、そして1900年代のパリへとページを開けばすぐに飛んでいけました。

そして貴重な職務の任務をも全うさせてもらいました！

勝手にやり遂げた感がすごいです笑。

 

以前、NHKの番組で原田マハさんと指揮者の大野和士さんが対談されていたのを思い出しましたが、ご本人もフィクションとノンフィクションの間の物語だと語っていたような…

史実とフィクションを織り交ぜて美術の魅力を表現するという独自の作品で人気のある方です。

確かに読んでいる方は、どこまでがほんとの話⁈と錯覚させられます。

それが謎のままもまたいいのでしょう。

 

このような美術ミステリー小説を読むと、たくさんの名画には知られざる逸話が山ほどあるのではないかと、どんどん興味が増します。

そこが魅了される所以でしょうね。

名画そのものを手に入れること難しくても、それに付随する謎をひっそりと知っている_

それもちょっと自分だけのミステリーみたいでいいですよね。

スタッフ I 個人的には、ドキドキ感の強いちょっとダークな内容のものも好きですが、春のやわらかい陽ざしの中で読むには、女性らしいミステリーアート小説もいいなと思いました。

“Paradise Kanvas” by Maha Harada, a master of art history novels.

I bought this book a long time ago, but I was ashamed to keep it asleep on the bookshelf.

And the other day, I read it. (Everyone, I think it’s a long time ago⁈)

 

This work has won the Yamamoto Shugoro Award.

The book cover said, “The true value of Maha Harada, who made the best use of his work experience at MoMA!”, But I think that we readers certainly let us experience a part of that work.

The fun of reading is not in visualization, but it seems that stories are being created more and more depending on one’s own imagination.

Especially in novels, you can draw your favorite scene in your head, which is perfect for escapism.

This time, I could fly from the composition of the work to NY, Basel, Switzerland, and Paris in the 1900s as soon as I opened the page.

And I was able to complete my valuable duties!

The feeling of accomplishing it without permission is amazing lol.

 

I remembered that Maha Harada and Kazushi Ono, the conductor, had a conversation on an NHK program before, but it seems that he herself said that it was a story between fiction and non-fiction .

(As shown on the cover of the book, Henri Rousseau’s illusory masterpiece “Dream” is the focus of the story.)

She is popular for her unique work that expresses the charm of art by interweaving historical facts and fiction.

Certainly, those who are reading can be illusioned as to how far the story is.

It would be nice if it remained a mystery.

 

Reading such art mystery novels makes me more and more interested in the many unknown anecdotes in many masterpieces.

That is the reason why it is fascinating.

Even if it is difficult to get the masterpiece itself, I quietly know the mystery that accompanies it _

It’s a little like mystery, isn’t it?
