本日の名古屋どんよりした曇り、今月ほとんどの土・日曜日ともに天気が崩れるそうです。週末おでかけの方は天気予報に注意しながら良い１日をお過ごしください。

 

さて、昨晩は全国的に「きぼう」/国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）が見られるチャンスの日だったことご存じでしたか？

私も当日知ったため皆さまにお知らせすることができませんでしたが、きっと見られた方もいらっしゃるはずですよね。

国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）は、地上から約４００㎞上空に建設された実験施設で、「きぼう」は、その中の日本実験棟の名前だそうです。ISSはサッカー場くらいの大きさで、１周およそ９０分というスピードで地球の周りを回っていて、条件が揃えば地上から肉眼でも見ることができます。

 

ちなみに名古屋では２０時２６分頃から観察のチャンスということで私も昨日の夜は目を凝らして眺めていたらなにやら光っている物体を発見！

もしかしてと思い双眼鏡で確認してみると…惜しくも飛行機でして（笑）

この時間に夜空で光っているものはすべて国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）に見えてしまうというあるある現象が起こり始めまして、もう見えないかもしれないと思っていると…。

 

発見いたしました！！飛行機よりも圧倒的に速いスピードで動く明るい物体。

明らかにスピードも違ったため、きっと、いや絶対そうだったと思います。

国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）を地上から見るには３つの条件が必要となります。

まず１つ目に、”晴れていること”。天気は非常に大事ですよね。今日の夜でなくてよかったと安心しております。

そして２つ目に、”自分の上空をISSが通過すること”。ISSは同じ軌道を回っているそうですが、地球が自転によって回転しているためISSが通過する位置は変化しています。ちょうど私の上を通過してくれたので２つ目の条件もクリア。

さいごに３つ目は、”自分のいる場所は夜で、ISSが昼であること”。ISSは自分で光っているわけではなく、太陽の光を反射して明るく輝きます。ISSが地上から見えるためには、ISSには太陽の光が当たっていて、地上は夜となっていることが絶対条件になります。

昨晩はこれらの３つの条件が揃って肉眼で見ることができたというわけですね。見た目としては明るい星のような飛行機のような感じでしたが、なぜか少しだけ感動してしまいました。

By the way, did you know that last night was a day of chance to see “Kibo”/International Space Station (ISS) nationwide?

I also found out about it on the day, so I wasn’t able to tell everyone, but I’m sure there must be some people who have seen it.

The International Space Station (ISS) is an experimental facility built about 400 km above the ground, and “Kibo” is the name of the Japanese Experiment Module in it. The ISS is about the size of a soccer field and orbits the earth at a speed of about 90 minutes.

 

By the way, in Nagoya, I had a chance to observe from around 20:26.

I wondered if it was possible, and when I checked it with binoculars… unfortunately it was an airplane (laughs).

At this time of year, a phenomenon has begun to occur in which everything that is shining in the night sky can be seen as the International Space Station (ISS), and I thought that I might not be able to see it anymore…

 

I found it! ! A bright object that moves at an overwhelmingly faster speed than an airplane.

Obviously, the speed was different, so I’m sure, no, I definitely think so.

Three conditions are required to see the International Space Station (ISS) from the ground.

First of all, “It’s sunny”. Weather is very important. I’m relieved that I’m glad it wasn’t tonight.

And secondly, “the ISS will pass over me.” It seems that the ISS is orbiting the same orbit, but the position where the ISS passes is changing because the earth is rotating due to its rotation. It just passed over me, so the second condition was also cleared.

Finally, the third is that “where I am is at night and the ISS is daytime”. The ISS does not shine by itself, but shines brightly by reflecting the sunlight. In order for the ISS to be visible from the ground, it is an absolute requirement that the ISS is illuminated by sunlight and the ground is at night.

So you could see it with the naked eye last night under all three conditions. It looked like a bright star-like airplane, but for some reason I was a little impressed.
