6月２１日、夏至の今日、みなさまいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

夏至は、季節の指標である二十四節気では１０番目の節気。一年の内で、最も昼の時間が長い日です。夏に至ると書くように、この頃から夏の盛りに向かいます。風光舎名古屋店のある、ここ名古屋の夏はむし暑くて有名ですが、今年の夏も何事もなく過ごせたら…と思います。こちらを読んでくださる皆さまも、ご自愛なさってくださいませ。

 

 

 

さて、２１日といえば、弘法大師の月命日ということで、全国各地の弘法大師ゆかりのお寺では縁日が開催されます。風光舎名古屋店のある名古屋市千種区の覚王山日泰寺でも、毎月「弘法さん」が開催されています。

 

 

タイ焼き、広島焼、五平餅、みたらし団子、わらび餅、芋けんぴなどの定番の出店の他にも、名古屋といったら外せない味噌串カツ・どて煮の店などが並びます。また日用品の店もあり、下駄や履物、婦人衣料、刃物、仏具、はたまた生花や鉢植えなどの出店も。昔ながらの乾物屋や八百屋、魚屋、干物屋、漬物屋、こんにゃく屋、ポン菓子屋も並びます。参道の有名店でも店の前に特設ブースを用意し、弘法さんの特別メニューを売り出したりします。本当に多種多様なラインナップで、郊外の大型店舗に行かずとも、こちらで全て揃うのではないか、と思ってしまう充実感です。駅から日泰寺までの約５００メートルの参道が歩行者天国になり、そこにずらっと並ぶ出店の数々が、昔から来る人を楽しませてくれていたのでしょうね。

 

 

日泰寺といえば、知る人ぞ知る、日本で唯一のお寺でも有名です。何が唯一かというと、実はお釈迦様の御骨が納められているのです！日泰寺という名前の由来は、日本の「日」、タイ王国の「泰」から「日本とタイの寺院」という意味で名付けられました。そのタイ王国から日本に贈られた仏舎利（釈迦の骨）を安置するために建立されたのが、この日泰寺なのです。

日泰寺の本堂のある敷地からは県道３０号を挟んで、はす向かいの東北の方向にあるのが奉安塔です。こちらにお釈迦様の御骨が奉納されています。奉安塔の目の前までは行けませんが、通天門の前でしたら一般の方はお参りできるようです。

そのような日本でも唯一の貴重なところをお参りなさったら、そこから５００メートル南に進んでくると我が「風光舎名古屋店」がございます。

 

 

弘法さん巡りから、お釈迦様の奉安塔を拝し、覚王山駅に戻る途中で「風光舎」に立ち寄って帰る、という小さな旅のプランはいかがでしょうか。スタッフ一同、お待ちしております。

The summer solstice is the 10th solar term in the 24 solar terms, which is an indicator of the season. It is the day with the longest daytime of the year. As I write that it will be summer, I will head to the height of summer from this time. By the way, the 21st is the anniversary of Kobo Daishi’s death, and fairs are held at temples related to Kobo Daishi all over the country. “Kobo-san” is held every month at Nittaiji Temple in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, where the Fukosha Nagoya store is located.

In addition to the standard stores such as Taiyaki, Hiroshima-yaki, Gohei-mochi, Mitarashi dango, Warabi-mochi, and Kenpi, there are also miso-kushikatsu and dote-boiled shops that you can’t miss in Nagoya. There is also a store for daily necessities, such as clogs, footwear, women’s clothing, cutlery, Buddhist altars, fresh flowers and potted plants. There are also old-fashioned dry food stores, greengrocers, fish stores, dried food stores, pickle stores, konjac stores, and puffed rice stores. Famous stores on the approach to the shrine also have a special booth in front of the store to sell Kobo-san’s special menu. With a truly diverse lineup, it’s a fulfilling feeling that makes you think that you can get everything here without having to go to a large store in the suburbs. The approach to Nittaiji Temple, which is about 500 meters from the station, has become a pedestrian paradise, and the many stores that line up there may have been entertaining people from long ago.

 

Nittaiji Temple is also famous as the only temple in Japan known to those in the know. The only thing is that the bones of Shaka-sama are actually stored! The origin of the name Nittaiji is derived from “Nittaiji” in Japan and “Thailand” in the Kingdom of Thailand to mean “Temple of Japan and Thailand”. It is this Nittaiji Temple that was erected to enshrine the Buddha’s bones that were given to Japan by the Kingdom of Thailand.

From the site where the main hall of Nittaiji Temple is located, the Buddhist pagoda is across the prefectural road No. 30 from the opposite side (tohoku direction). The bones of Shaka are dedicated here. You can’t go right in front of you, but it seems that the general public can visit if you are in front of Tsutenmon.

If you visit such a precious place in Japan, go 500 meters south of it and you will find our “Fukosha Nagoya store”.

How about a small trip plan from visiting Kobo-san, worshiping Shaka-sama’s memorial tower, and stopping at “Fukosha” on the way back to Kakuozan Station? All the staff are waiting for you.
