つい半年前でしょうか、東京都現代美術館 でディオール展が開催され、大盛会の中足を運び、ディオールの世界観、クオリティ、演出全てに感動し、ただただ「すごかった…。」みたいなつぶやきをした記憶がございます。あれからまだ半年しかたっていないのですが、今もたいへん記憶に残っている展覧会でありました。

 

その際に、ディオールのアトリエでデザイナーをしていたイヴ・サンローランの作品もいくつか展示されており、それもくぎ付けたっだのですが、そんなイヴ・サンローラン展が秋に開催されると聞きつけました。絶対に訪れようと忘れずに楽しみにしておりまして、先日ようやっと行って参りました。

会場は、六本木にございます国立新美術館。今回は六本木ですので、鑑賞後のお茶どこに行こうか？それも楽しみなのですが、まずは館の中へ。

 

 

 

 

予習を少し致しますが、イヴ・サンローランはクリスチャン・ディオールの急死をうけ、1958年にディオールのデザイナーとして鮮烈なデビューを飾ります。その後、1962年からは自身のブランド「イヴ・サンローラン」を発表。それ以来、2002年の引退まで約半世紀にわたって世界のファッションシーンをリードし、サファリ・ルックやパンツスーツ、ピーコート、トレンチコートといったアイテムを定着させるなど、女性たちのワードローブに変革をもたらします。今回展覧会は、イヴ・サンローラン美術館パリの全面協力を得て、没後日本で初めて開催される大回顧展であります。

 

 

 

 

わずか21歳で衝撃的なデビューを果たしておりますが、幼少の頃から絵本を描いたりとその才能の片鱗は早くも吐出していたようでして、若くして自身のブランドとして初のコレクションを成功させ、美術作品や舞台芸術、そして日本にも影響を受けながら独自のスタイルを確立。今回はその40年にわたる歴史を、ルック110体のほか、アクセサリー、ドローイング、写真を含む262点を鑑賞することが出来ます。20世紀後半における偉大な才能であるイヴ・サンローランから生み出される唯一無二でありながら、豪華絢爛な美の世界を間近で堪能できるのですから、これは大変貴重な機会ですね。

 

撮影は一部しかできませんでしたが、ご存じのとおり、彼の作品は色使いもディオールと違って黒やビビットなピンク、赤などや、素材も羽を使用したり、大胆なビーズ使いだったりと、とてもクールで大胆。

 

 

 

 

あの有名な「モンドリアン」も、直線的なAラインに、黒い直線で分割された大胆な原色の配置と、ディオールとのように女性らしい曲線のラインを強調するものではありません。

オランダの画家、モンドリアンの代表作《コンポジション》の引用なのですが、画面上で分割された白、赤、黒による抽象画が、ラシーヌ機による特殊なジャージーのはぎ合せによってドレス上に表現されています。

 

簡潔なフォルムながらそれを身にまとう女性の身体をほのかな陰影の中に浮き上がらせるオートクチュールの高度な裁断技術が伺えしれ、その当時の時代の流れと照らし合わせてみますと、これからの新しい時代の新しい女性のらしさを表現しているように見えます。

 

モンドリアンドレス、撮影可能でしたのでうれしかったですね。オートクチュール（顧客のための仕立服）ですのでお客様の体型などにあわせておりますが、それにしてもスレンダーなお客様だ…。

 

 

 

 

 

 

それにしてもディオール作品と対比してしまうのですが、ディオール亡き後、女性の生き方あり方が急激に変化していく時代となりますが、その先の時代を見据え、また女性自身の意思をもくみ取ったかのようなサンローランの天才ぶり。「私は私のスタイルでいくわ。」と、どの作品からもそんな自立した女性のイメージが伝わります。

 

また、どの作品も着こなすにはそれ相応のスタイルでないといけないこともよくわかりまして。サンローランを颯爽と着こなす女性は、中も外も兼ね備えた選ばれし者だな…ということも大変伝わりました笑。

また逆に、そんな選ばれし素敵な女性に是非まとってほしいと思わせるサンローランのドレスでありした。

I think it was only half a year ago that I visited the Dior exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, which was a great success. It has only been half a year since then. It has only been half a year since then, but it was an exhibition that remains very memorable to this day.

The venue was the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi. Since I was in Roppongi this time, where should I go for tea after the exhibition? I am looking forward to that too.

 

Yves Saint Laurent made a brilliant debut as a designer for Dior in 1958, following the sudden death of Christian Dior. He then launched his own brand, Yves Saint Laurent, in 1962. Since then, until his retirement in 2002, he led the global fashion scene for almost half a century, revolutionizing women’s wardrobes by establishing items such as the safari look, pantsuits, pea coats, and trench coats. This exhibition is the first major retrospective of his work to be held in Japan since his death, with the full cooperation of the Yves Saint Laurent Museum Paris.

 

 

Although she made her shocking debut at the age of only 21, it seems that glimpses of her talent, such as drawing picture books, had already begun to emerge from her childhood. This exhibition will showcase 262 pieces of his 40-year history, including 110 looks, accessories, drawings, and photographs, allowing visitors to closely observe the unique and luxurious world of beauty created by Yves Saint Laurent, one of the greatest talents of the second half of the 20th century. Although I was only able to photograph a small portion of the collection, as you know, unlike Dior, Yves Saint Laurent’s creations are very cool and bold, using colors such as black, vivid pink, and red, as well as materials such as feathers and bold beads.

 

 

 

The famous “Mondrian” also does not emphasize feminine curves as Dior did, with a straight A-line and bold primary colors divided by black straight lines.

The “Mondrian” is a reference to the Dutch painter Mondrian’s masterpiece “Composition,” an abstract painting in white, red, and black divided on the screen, which is expressed on the dress by a special jersey stitching process using a Racine machine.

 

The simple form of the dresses shows the advanced cutting technique of haute couture that brings out the body of the woman wearing them in subtle shadows, and when compared to the trends of the time, they seem to express the style of new women in the new era to come.

 

I was glad to be able to photograph the Mondrian dress. As this is an “haute couture” (tailored clothes for customers), it is tailored to the customer’s body shape, but even so, the customer is slender….

 

After Dior’s death, women’s lifestyles were rapidly changing, and Saint Laurent’s genius seemed to have anticipated the future of the times and also captured the will of women themselves. I’ll go with my own style,” she said. Each piece conveys the image of an independent woman.

I also understood that to wear any of the pieces, you have to have the appropriate style. I could tell that a woman who can wear Saint Laurent so dashingly is a chosen one, both inside and out. On the contrary, this Saint Laurent dress makes me wish that such a chosen and wonderful woman would wear it.
