このところ春の勝手にパトロールに忙しいスタッフYですが、本日は所要のため通り過ぎましたご近所もご近所、春の「揚輝荘」がよかったので、ご報告いたします。

 

「揚輝荘」、名古屋の方ならご存じかと思いますが、ここ揚輝荘は、松坂屋百貨店の初代社長である15代伊藤次郎左衞門祐民氏が、大正から昭和初期にかけて覚王山の丘陵地に建設した名古屋市における郊外別邸の代表作。古美術風光舎からですと本当にご近所でして徒歩3分でしょうか、店舗から肉眼でもなんとなく場所は確認できる位置であります。

 

当時からこの一帯は閑静なお屋敷街でありますが、ここ揚輝荘は個人の別荘にとどまらず、各界の要人や文化人が往来する迎賓館、社交場でもありました。また、アジアの留学生が寄宿して国際的なコミュニティを形成した場所でもありました。

こちらは、南園にある聴松閣。

春のもみじの新緑が初々しく、赤い外壁に映えますね。こちらの建物は、昭和12年に迎賓館として建築されました。ハーフティンバーの外壁など山荘風の外観で、内部は英国・中国・印度の意匠が凝らされていて、なによりこの朱色の外壁が個性的ですね。当時ここを訪れた方が、この朱色には驚いたのではないでしょうか。

平成25年には修復整備を終え、壁画やホール、舞踏場があり、講演会やコンサートなどを開催することもでき、現在も様々人が集う場所として活躍しております。

 

そして、北園へ。

 

 

 

 

 

揚輝荘は景観植栽もなかなか凝ってまして、春のこの時期は新緑ももちろんのこと、クルメツツジ、カキツバタ、ショウブなどがさりげなく咲いております。ここに「○○があったらいいなぁ…。」と、いところに植栽がさりげなく咲いているんですよね。

ただ、こちらの紫の花、たぶんショウブだと思うのですが、お勉強不足で確認がとれておりません。（調べておきますね。）

 

とまあ、ご近所界隈の春の勝手にパトロールは終わり、通りを抜けていきますと、本日は覚王山日泰寺の毎月21日に開催される縁日「弘法さんの日」でありました。出店がたくさんあり大変賑わっておりましたが、残念ながら勤務中につき横目で見ながらの通り過ぎでありました。

 

こんな春の古美術風光舎界隈、この時期街歩きするには良い時期でして、足を延ばしてみたくなったのではないでしょうか。

Hello everyone, this is Staff Y.

 

Today, we would like to report on a neighborhood we passed by while on a business trip, and we were very happy to see “Jirozao” in spring.

 

As those of you in Nagoya may know, this is a representative example of a suburban villa in Nagoya built by the 15th Ito Jirozaemon Yutami, the first president of Matsuzakaya Department Store, on a hillside in Kakuozan from the Taisho Period (1912-1926) to the early Showa Period (1926-1989). It is located in a very close neighborhood from the Antique Art Fuhkosha, about a 3-minute walk away, and the location can be seen with the naked eye from the store.

 

This area has been a quiet residential area since those days, but Yanghi-so was not only a private villa but also a guest house and social gathering place for dignitaries and cultural figures from various fields. It was also a place where foreign students from Asia stayed and formed an international community.

This is the Hearing Song Pavilion in the south garden.

The fresh green of the maple leaves in spring is so fresh and looks so nice against the red exterior wall. This building was constructed as a guest house in 1937. It has a villa-style exterior with half-timber exterior walls, and the interior is decorated with English, Chinese, and Indian designs, and above all, the vermilion exterior walls are unique. Visitors at that time must have been surprised by this vermilion color.

In 2013, the restoration and maintenance of the building was completed, and it now houses murals, a hall, and a ballroom, where lectures and concerts can be held, and it continues to serve as a place where people gather in various ways.

 

Then, to the North Garden.

 

In the spring, fresh greenery, azaleas, kakitsubata, and gingerbread are in bloom in a casual manner. I wish there was a “X” here…” and “I wish there was a “X” here…”. and the plantings are casually blooming in the right places.

However, the purple flowers here are probably gingerbread, but I have not been able to confirm this due to my lack of study. (I’ll check it out.).

 

After the spring patrol in my neighborhood, I walked through the street and found that today was “Kobo-san-no-hi,” a fair held on the 21st of every month at Kakuozan Nittai-ji Temple. There were many stalls and the place was very crowded, but unfortunately I was on duty and had to pass by the stalls with a sideways glance.
