名古屋は雪が積もってホワイトクリスマスですね。

 

朝から電車の遅延など、飲食店の方は繁忙期にも関わらずお忙しいと思います。

 

Nはいつもイベントの日は、混むのでずらしてお祝いしたりいたします。

 

 

 

秋田県出身の知人は、雪になると東北魂がうずくとおおはしゃぎ。

 

ちょっと雪かきしてくる！と嬉しそうにしておりました。

 

猫はこたつで丸くなると言いますが、うちの猫は肉球が冷たくなるまではしゃいで、外を眺めておりました。

 

秋田の雪はさらさらですが、名古屋の雪は硬くてべちゃべちゃです。

 

それを忘れてクリスマスだからというだけで白い服で来てしまい、大失敗。

 

既に、雪の泥はねの汚れがついておりました。

 

これからデートの方は、服装選びにはお気を付けください。

 

 

フィンランドに行った際に購入した、ソレルのブーツやモフモフのフライトキャップがあるのですが、こちらでは暑すぎて使えません。（－８℃のフィンランドでは丁度いい）

 

雪のふった今日こそ使うべきでした。

 

覚王山周辺は坂が多く、大変滑りやすくなっておりますので、御来店の際はご注意ください。

 

あ、受験生もいる家庭では滑りやすいは禁句でございますね。

 

本日はクリスマスの曲を店内でかけて、少しでもクリスマス気分を味わおうと思います。

 

 

 

東京の知人からメルヘンなイルミネーションの写真が送られてきました。

 

白馬の馬車に乗れるなんてロマンチックですね。

 

ここらへんでは、有名なのはなばなの里イルミネーションでしょうか。

 

ずっと昔にいちご狩りに行ってから中々行けておりません。

 

昔は長島スパーランドが目的でしたが、最近は湯あみの島の温泉かジャズドリーム長島でお買い物ですね。

 

クリスマスということもあって、隣のロンドンカップケーキにはひっきりなしにお客様がいらっしゃいます。

 

クリスマスと言えば思い出すのは、フィンランドにいる本場のサンタさんの話です。

 

フィンランドのロヴァニエミにサンタクロース村がございます。

 

首都のヘルシンキからは国内線で１時間２０分、列車では１０～１２時間半かかります。

 

Nは、特別寝台車のサンタクロースエクスプレス号というので行きました。

 

シャワー室がありましたが、常に満室で狭く使える状態ではないので仕方なく断念。

 

部屋の小さな手洗いで顔を洗ったり、中々経験できない体験でございました。

 

寒さと列車や水やドアなどいろんな音が混ざって寝れないかと思いきや、真っ白な銀世界を眺めているうちにいつの間にか爆睡しておりました。

 

 

 

実際に行ったサンタクロース村は、絵本の中にいるかのような素敵なところでした。

 

本物のサンタさんと写真が撮れますが、並んでいたのと、グッズを買って身につけないとかなりの塩対応をされると聞いていたのでやめておきました。

 

そんな塩対応のサンタさんを見ると悲しくなってしまいそうです。

 

サンタさんよりテンションがあがったのはやはり本場のトナカイです。

 

体の半分以上ある大きな角、穏やかな顔、気品のある佇まい、とてもかっこよかったです。

 

トナカイは、鹿の仲間では唯一、雌雄共に角を持ちます。

 

雄の角は大きく90〜120cmで雌は30〜40cm程度もあるとか。

 

雪や柔らかいツンドラ地面に適応するために蹄は半月型で広く、凹みがあります。

 

足の肉球部分は夏季にはスポンジのようになっていますが、冬には硬くなります。

 

広い蹄は泳ぐのにも役立ち、時速11kmほどで泳ぐことができます。

 

また時速80kmほどで走ることもでき、水陸どちらも得意です。

 

摂氏-60℃まで耐えられますが、-15℃を超えると辛いそうです。

 

寿命は15〜18年くらいなので、犬や猫と同じくらいでしょうか。

 

人でも寒かったり、お酒を飲んだりしたら鼻が赤くなる人いるのと似ているとか。

 

調べてみますとたしかにうっすらピンクがかったトナカイの写真が出てきました。

 

あの歌は間違いではなかったのですね。

 

ここまでトナカイについて可愛いとお話してまいりましたが、実はこのトナカイ食べられるのです。

 

レッドリストにのっているので、食べられる場所はかぎられているそうですが、Nもいただいてきました。

 

特に嫌なにおいなどもなかったのを覚えております。

 

フィンランドの北東、ロヴァニエミに実在するサンタクロース村には、世界中の国々からサンタクロース宛に、毎年70万通を超えるお手紙が届きます。

サンタクロース村「サンタクロースからの手紙」は、サンタクロース事務局が、このグリーティングセンターと契約しているフィンランドから届くクリスマスレターです。

 

来年、サンタクロースに手紙を書いてみてはいかがでしょうか。

An acquaintance from Akita Prefecture says that when it snows, the spirit of the Tohoku region tingles with excitement.

 

Let’s shovel some snow! I was so happy.

 

It is said that cats curl up under the kotatsu, but my cat was excited and looked outside until his paws got cold.

 

The snow in Akita is soft, but the snow in Nagoya is hard and sticky.

 

I forgot about it and ended up wearing white clothes just because it was Christmas, which was a big mistake.

 

It was already stained with snow mud splashes.

 

If you are going on a date from now on, please be careful when choosing clothes.

 

I have Sorel boots and a fluffy flight cap that I bought when I went to Finland, but it’s too hot to use here. (It’s just right in Finland, where it’s -8°C.)

 

I should have used it today when it snowed.

 

There are many slopes around Mt. Kakuozan and it is very slippery, so please be careful when visiting.

Speaking of Christmas, one thing that comes to mind is the story of the real Santa in Finland.

 

Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finland.

 

From Helsinki, the capital, it takes 1 hour and 20 minutes by domestic flight and 10 to 12 hours and 30 minutes by train.

 

I went to N because it was a special sleeper, the Santa Claus Express.

 

There was a shower room, but it was always full and narrow, so I had no choice but to give it up.

 

It was an experience that I could not experience in the middle of the day, such as washing my face in the small hand wash in the room.

 

I thought I would not be able to fall asleep because of the cold and the sounds of trains, water, doors, etc., but before I knew it, I fell asleep while gazing out at the pure white, silvery world.

 

 

 

 

The Santa Claus Village we actually went to was a wonderful place, like being in a picture book.

 

You can take a picture with a real Santa, but I had to wait in line and I heard that if you don’t buy goods and wear them, you will be treated with salt, so I didn’t do it.

 

It seems that it will become sad to see such a salt-friendly Santa.

 

It was the real reindeer that got me more excited than Santa.

 

It was very cool with big horns that were more than half of its body, a calm face, and an elegant appearance.

 

Reindeer are the only deer that both males and females have antlers.

 

The horns of males are large, 90-120cm, and females are 30-40cm.

 

The hooves are wide, half-moon shaped and dimpled to accommodate snow and soft tundra.

 

The pads of the feet are spongy in the summer, but hard in the winter.

 

Their wide hooves also help them swim, and they can swim at speeds of up to 11 km/h.

 

It can also run at about 80 km/h, and is good at both land and water.

 

It can withstand temperatures down to -60°C, but it seems to be hot when it exceeds -15°C.

 

They have a life expectancy of 15 to 18 years, about the same as dogs and cats.

 

There is a song called Mr. red-nosed reindeer, but what is it actually like?

 

They are basically black or brown, but the reindeer’s nasal mucosa has a high density of capillaries, so when the blood vessels become congested, the nose sometimes appears red.

It’s similar to how some people’s noses turn red when they’re cold or after drinking alcohol.

 

When I looked it up, I found a picture of a reindeer with a slightly pink tint.

 

That song wasn’t wrong.

 

I’ve talked about how cute reindeer are, but you can actually eat them.

 

Since it is on the red list, places where you can eat it are limited, but I also received N.

 

I remember that there was no particular unpleasant smell.
