先日新しい携帯に変えたのですが、毎度毎度慣れない移行に悪戦苦闘しながらですので、はい、どっと疲れました。（慣れてる方ですと、なんてことないのでしょうね笑）なんとか平常モードにもどりましたので、新しい相棒と以後頑張っていきたいと思います。

 

さてさて、先日のブログではないですが、そろそろ「年の瀬」なんて言葉がそろそろ耳に入ってくるようになってきましたね。個人的にはあまり気分の浮かないフレーズでして、年末年始の準備や挨拶、ちょっと掃除なんか考えてみたり、あの時期の慌ただしさの前触れが毎年この時期の自分をブルーにさせます…。

 

そんな年の瀬に一つだけしていることがあるのですが、これからやってくる忙しさに備えて一日中人と全く会わない、何もしない日を設けています。思わず何か用事を入れてしまいそうになるのですが、そこはあえて自分のためだけの贅沢な時間を作っているのですが、こんな時期に「何にもしない自分」というものは、なにかものすごい罪悪感と優越感が混じったなんともいえない感触でもあります。

 

ほんとうに何をする訳でもなく、家の中で珈琲をいれて好きな音楽を聴いて、窓から見える青い空を眺めてぼーっとしているだけなの時間なのですが、この時期のヒトやモノそしてタスク疲れ解消のため、この忙しい時期にあえて何もしない日が自分にはたまらない贅沢な時間に思えてきます。かなりの陰キャぶりともいえますが笑。

 

とまあ自分の場合は特にすごい！とか面白そう！なんていう過ごし方ではないのですが、皆さまのちょっとちがった年の瀬の過ごし方、ちょっと知りたいものです。

The other day I switched to a new phone, and as always, I struggled through the unfamiliar transition process. Yeah, I was completely exhausted. (For those who are used to it, it’s probably no big deal, haha.) I’ve managed to get back to normal mode, so I’ll keep pushing forward with my new partner from here on out.

 

Now then, this isn’t about my recent blog post, but you start hearing phrases like “year’s end” more often now, don’t you? Personally, it’s not a phrase that lifts my spirits. Thinking about year-end preparations, greetings, a bit of cleaning… the harbingers of that season’s busyness make me feel blue every year around this time…

 

There’s one thing I do during this year-end period: I set aside a day where I see absolutely no one and do nothing at all, preparing for the busyness to come. I almost end up scheduling something, but I deliberately resist and create this luxurious time just for myself. Yet, during this season, this “doing-nothing self” feels like an indescribable mix of guilt and superiority.

 

I truly don’t do anything special—just brew coffee at home, listen to my favorite music, gaze at the blue sky visible through the window, and zone out. To relieve the fatigue from people, things, and tasks this season, deliberately choosing to do nothing during this busy time feels like an irresistibly luxurious treat to me. You could call it quite the introvert move, haha.

 

Well, my way isn’t exactly spectacular or exciting, but I’d love to hear about everyone else’s slightly different ways of spending the year’s end.
