このところ急に寒くなり、今朝は、「これが冬だよな」と痛感した朝となりました。

皆様の地区は、いかがだったでしょうか。

 

先日のブログは、年末のわたくしの荒れ模様をお伝えいたしましたが、それでも荒れ模様の日々の中にありがたいことにいいことがこざいまして。なんだか来年はいい歳になりそうな予感だということにしたいのですが、これはいい虫を買いすぎでしょうか。

 

なんと３つほどありましたので、少しずつお伝えしたいと思います。

 

まずは先日、なんと初めて弊店の忘年会を行いました笑。そんなトピックにするようなことなのか？とお思いになるでしょうが、実は弊店、開店当初からこのような状況下でして、スタッフが集まって飲食のできるような状況ではございませんでした。とにもかくにも今年一年、皆様にそしてこの地域に愛顧いただきましたことに感謝し、まぁ、飲んだり食べたりしたわけでして、これもひとえに皆様のおかげでございます。誠にありがとうございます。

 

さてさて、そんな年忘れ気分の翌朝の今朝、お仕事にて外をまわっておりましたこところ、第二のいいことが。

あるお宅の玄関先に「ご自由にどうぞ」と添えて、ダイオウショウの選定されました枝が何本か置かれておりました。ふと、そちらのお宅のお庭を見上げますと（撮影することはできませんが）選定されました立派なダイオウショウの木が植わっており、年末の庭掃除にて選定されたその枝のおすそ分けでしょうか。ピンポーンをしましてお礼を申し上げようと致しましたが、あいにくのお留守。「ありがとうございます」と、ちいさくつぶやきまして、ありがたくいただいてまいりました。

 

ダイオウショウとは松の仲間なのですが、「大王松」と漢字では書き、字のごとく立派な松の葉であります。お正月のお飾りやアレンジメントに使われていたりしておりまして、葉が大きいだけあり立派なお飾りになり、もちろん購入したしますとそこそこのお値段であります。（お値段のお話になり申し訳ございません）。

 

 

原産は、北アメリカ東南部とするマツ科の常緑針葉樹でして、。松の仲間では世界一の長い葉を持つことから「大王」と称され、雄大な樹形を観賞するためよく公園や庭園に植栽されております。いただいたお宅の立派なお庭に植わっておりましたので、そちらのお宅が立派であったことは言うまでございませんね。

 

ですが、松といえば日本庭園を想像していまいますが、こちらのダイオウショウ、お庭に植わった様子も姿形が大ぶりで洋風庭園にも違和感があまりないようです。日本に渡来したのは1912年（大正元年）のことでして、よくみますとダイオウショウは葉が三本一組の「三葉松」。日本で一般的なクロマツやアカマツは針状の葉が二本一組で生じる「二葉松」のようですので、その分やはり大胆に葉が広がっており、我々のイメージする松とは違い葉の付き方が柔らかい印象でありました。また、樹齢を重ねたダイオウショウの葉は長さ20～30㎝ですが、なぜか若い木では40～50㎝になって枝先に垂れ下がるようですので猶更そのような印象でしょう（ちなみにクロマツの葉は長さ10～15㎝ほど。）。因みに、わたくしのいただいたダイオウショウは、20～30㎝くらいですので、なかなかの樹齢のもののようですね。

 

また、持ち帰るときの思ったのですが、松脂がとても手につき、調べますとこの葉から採取したエキスは美容効果があるとされ、アイマスクやリップパックなどの原料に使われるようでして、お肌によいのだとか。

 

また、花の後にできるダイオウショウのマツボックリが、長さ20～30㎝の円柱形でなかなかのジャンボサイズ。圧倒的な存在感のあることからこのマツボックリ、クリスマスリースなどのアレンジメントやクリスマス飾りに使われており、なかなかの存在感。産地では野生のリスが好んで食べるようですので、みなさん恩恵にあずかっているようですね。

 

そんな、わたくしも恩恵にあずかった一人ですので、せっかくいただいたダイオウショウを美しく飾ろうかと意欲は満々なのではあります。ですが、私の腕にかかっていることに少しプレッシャーを感じてもおり…。まぁ、出来栄えはさておき、飾ってみることにいたしますのでそのご報告はまたの機会にいたしましょう。

Anyway, I am grateful to everyone for their patronage in this area this year, and I drank and ate, and I am grateful to all of you. thank you.

 

By the way, the second good thing was that I was traveling outside for work this morning, the morning after I felt like I had forgotten the year.

At the front door of a house, there were some selected branches of longleaf pine, with the words “please feel free”. Suddenly, when I looked up at the garden of your house, there was a splendid longleaf pine tree that was selected (although I can’t take a picture), and it’s the branch that was selected during the year-end garden cleaning. Is it? I tried to thank you for ping pong, but unfortunately I am away. “Thank you,” he tweeted a little.

 

Longleaf pine is a member of the pine tree, but it is written in Chinese characters as “Daiomatsu” and is a splendid pine needle. It is used for New Year’s decorations and arrangements, and it is a great decoration because it is big, and of course it is a reasonable price if you purchase it. (Sorry for talking about the price).

 

It is an evergreen conifer of the Pinaceae family in southeastern North America. Among the pine trees, it is called “Okimi” because it has the longest leaves in the world, and it is often planted in parks and gardens to appreciate the magnificent tree shape, but it is planted in a splendid garden of a private house. It goes without saying that your house was excellent because it was there.

 

However, when I think of pine trees, I imagine a Japanese garden, but the appearance of this longleaf pine planted in the garden is large, and it seems that there is not much discomfort in the Western-style garden. I came to Japan in 1912 (Taisho 1st year), and if you look closely, you can see that the longleaf pine is a set of three leaves, “Mitsuhamatsu”. Black pine and Japanese red pine, which are common in Japan, are like “Futaba pine” where needle-shaped leaves are formed in pairs, so the leaves are boldly spread by that amount, and unlike the pine we imagine, the leaves are different. The way it was attached was a soft impression. In addition, the leaves of the old longleaf pine are 20 to 30 cm in length, but for some reason it seems that the leaves of young trees are 40 to 50 cm and hang down at the tip of the branch, so it seems like that (by the way, black pine). The leaves are about 10 to 15 cm long.) By the way, the longleaf pine I received is about 20 to 30 cm, so it seems to be a fairly old tree.

 

Also, when I took it home, I thought that pine oil was very handy, and when I examined it, it was said that the extract collected from this leaf had a beauty effect, and it seems that it is used as a raw material for eye masks and lip packs. It’s good for your skin.

 

In addition, the longleaf pine cones that form after the flowers are cylindrical with a length of 20 to 30 cm and are quite jumbo-sized. Because of its overwhelming presence, it is used for arrangements such as pinecones and Christmas wreaths and Christmas decorations. Also, it seems that wild squirrels like to eat in the production area, so everyone seems to be benefiting from it.

 

Since I was one of the people who benefited from it, I am fully motivated to decorate the longleaf pine that I received. However, I feel a little pressure on my arm. Aside from the workmanship, I will decorate it, so let’s take another opportunity to report it.
