このところ、街中に卒業式と思しき袴姿や、お花を持った若い方や、親子ずれをなどを見かけます。そう、卒業式なんですね。おめでとうございます。

 

一時期は、ご時世により卒業式もリモート開催や中止などとになり、本人のみならず誰もが残念に思う時期もあったのですが、こうやって何事もなく晴れ着を着て、晴れ晴れしい表情をした若い人達を拝見しますと、ようやっと通常の景色にもどったのだな…と、実感するのは私だけでしょうか。

 

そういえば先日、毎年恒例卒業ソングランキングをTVでやっていたのですが、もちろん自分の頃の卒業ソングはすっかり消え去っております。また、そのころの記憶も、とうに消え去っているのですが、今の若い人たちが好きな卒業ソングも世代は違ってもなかなかいい曲だな、と、先日もいろいろSpotifyで検索して再度聞きなおしたりしておりました。

 

それにしても卒業式当日の記憶云々こそ消え去っているのですが、寒さの中に少し暖かくなった日差しが入り混じって、その中に不安や寂しさや期待がいろいろ入り味ったもやもやした感覚だけはなぜか残っており、若かりし頃の自分にちょっと問うてみたいのですが、何を思っていたのでしょうね。

 

今年卒業される若い皆様もきっとそのような気持ちでいるのかと思いますが、とうに過ぎ去った大人が振り返りますと、全部ひっくるめてその感覚は『希望』の一言だったように今なら思えます。

 

どうかその感覚をいつまでも忘れないで、次のステージへ進んでほしいものです。

Recently, we have been seeing many young people in hakama (traditional Japanese male formal attire), some carrying flowers, and some with their parents and children, who seem to be celebrating their graduation. Yes, it is a graduation ceremony. Congratulations!

 

There was a time when graduation ceremonies were held remotely or cancelled due to the current situation, and everyone felt disappointed, not only the students themselves, but also everyone else, Am I the only one who feels that we are finally back to normal?

 

The other day, the annual ranking of graduation songs was shown on TV, and of course, the graduation songs of my own time have all but disappeared. Of course, the graduation songs of my own time have all but disappeared, and my memories of those days have long since faded as well, but I was thinking the other day that the graduation songs that young people like today are also quite good, even if they are from a different generation, and I was searching for them on Spotify and listening to them again.
The memories of the day of graduation are gone, but somehow I still have a hazy feeling of anxiety, loneliness, and anticipation in the cold mixed with a little warmth of the sun. I wonder what I was thinking when I was young.

 

I would like to ask myself what I was thinking when I was young, but I wonder what I was thinking. I am sure that the young people who are graduating this year are feeling the same way, but looking back on it as an adult who has long since passed away, I can now see that all together, that feeling was one word: “hope.

 

I hope that you will never forget that feeling and move on to the next stage.
