今日は３月３日、桃の節句、ひな祭りでございます。

 

 

上巳の節句は五節句の一つで、元々は3月上旬の巳の日でしたが、後に3月3日に行われるようになりました。

 

旧暦では3月3日は桃の花が咲く季節であることから「桃の節句」とも言われます。

 

古来中国では、上巳の日に川で身を清め不浄を祓う習慣がありました。

 

これが平安時代に日本に取り入れられました。

 

後に、紙で小さな人の形(形代)を作ってそれにけがれを移し、川や海に流して不浄を祓うようになりました。

 

この風習は、現在でも「流し雛」として残っております。

 

さらに、女の子の健やかな成長を願う伝統行事でございます。

 

女の子のいる家庭では、雛人形を飾り、白酒・菱餅・あられ・桃の花等を供えて祀ります。

 

人形に穢れを移して川や海に流していたが、その人形が次第に精巧なものになって流さずに飾っておくようになり、雛祭りとして発展して行ったとか。

 

雛祭りは始めは宮中や貴族の間で行われていましたが、やがて武家社会でも行われるようになり、江戸時代には庶民の行事となりました。

 

 

元々は、5月5日の端午の節句とともに男女の別なく行われていましたが、江戸時代ごろから、豪華な雛人形は女の子に属するものとされ、端午の節句は菖蒲の節句とも言われることから、「尚武」にかけて男の子の節句とされるようになりました。

 

 

留学生が来るということで、何年かぶりに我が家も雛人形を引っ張り出してまいりました。

 

小さい時は、毎年大変な思いをして飾って、顔の白い怖い人形がたくさん並んでいて少し怖かったです。

 

先日見た「あの子は貴族」という映画で、雛人形の印象的な会話がございました。

 

門脇麦演じる東京生まれ東京育ちのお嬢様は三姉妹で、三人それぞれに自分の雛人形があるそうなのです。

 

その会話に、地方から来た水原希子が驚くシーンがあるのですが、Nも衝撃を受けました。

 

雛人形は１家に１つだと思い込んでいたので、３つの雛人形が並んでいるのを想像したら、すごい迫力だろうなと考えてしまいました。

 

結婚して、それぞれの家に連れていくかもしれないことを考えたら、１人１つが喧嘩をしなくてすむかもしれませんね。

 

 

さて、久しぶりに飾ってみると、あれ、こんなにイケメンだっけ？よく見たらとても綺麗な顔をしていたんだと、惚れ惚れしてしまいました。

 

雛人形にも色々顔がございまして、親がイケメンの人形の会社を選んだとか（笑）

 

最近は可愛らしいコンパクトな雛人形もございまして、気軽に楽しめるようになっております。

 

それぞれ持ち物がございまして、説明書の通りに持たせていくのですが、誰に何を持たせたらいいのかわからづらいのです。

 

それぞれの手にはめてみて、しっくりきそうなものを持たせているのですが、人形本人からした「あれ？今年はこれか。。。」と思っているかもしれません。

 

１人では大変なので、知人に協力してもらいました。

 

しかし、数年ぶりの雛飾り、思うようにはいきません。

 

まず、知人が左大臣の髭を抜いてしまいました（笑）

 

左大臣は真っ白な髭が特徴的なかっこいいいけおじいちゃんなのですが、束で何本か刺さっている１本が取れました。

 

なんとか刺しなおしたものの、バランスが不自然になってしまいました。

 

次に、これは毎年のことなのですが、烏帽子が結べません。

 

あの小さい雛人形の頭に蝶々結びで紐をくくりつけなければいけないのですが、綺麗にできたことがありません。

 

仕方がないので、例年通り、首に烏帽子を引っ掻けるカジュアルスタイルでございます。

 

そして、五人囃子の楽器問題。

 

なんとなく手にはまりそうな楽器を順番に持たせていたのですが、最後の１人がどうしても残った楽器を持てない手をしております。

 

顔も服も似ていますし、どれがどれだかわかりません。

 

無理矢理違う楽器を持たせてもいいのですが

「おれ、ドラムっす！ギターは弾けないっす！」

「えっ、今までギターだったんすけど、今年は笛っすか！？やったことないっすけど、頑張ります！」

と声が聞こえてきそうです。

 

全体的に、お供え物がもっとあったような気がしますが、年々少なくなってきているのかもしれません。

 

最後に最大の刺客は、猫でございます。

 

初めて観る雛人形に興味津々、あっという間に最上段のお雛様ゾーンに上り詰めてしまいました。

 

襖を閉めておいたのですが、自分で開けて入れることが発覚いたしました。

 

今のところ、何かを落としたりいたずらする気配はないので安心です。

 

猫、雛人形で検索してみると、なめ回されて悲惨な姿のお雛様の写真が出てまいりました。

 

 

綺麗に結った髪が大爆発しておりまして、これは祖父母にばれたら怒られそうです。

 

お雛様の横にきちんと座って記念写真を撮っている猫ちゃんもおりまして、これはこれでほっこり致しますね。

 

よく見ると一番上の段に猫が隠れておりますので、探してみてくださいませ。

 

明日からまた雛人形片付けのミッションが待っております。

 

せっかく飾ったので、ずっとそのままにしておきたい気も致しますが、

 

 

雛人形を片付ける日柄に関しては、特に決まりごとはないそうです。

 

お祝い事は日柄のいい日、大安・友引に飾るのが一般的ですが、日柄の悪い仏滅に雛人形を出すのがタブーであるわけではありません。

 

もともと、雛人形は「厄を取るお守り」というのがお役目なので、むしろ日柄の悪い日や厄日にこそお守りとしての力を発揮する、という考え方もあります。

 

一説には、中国の陰陽説から、一年で一番の厄日である３月３日に、厄を取るための行事として行われていた風習が現代のひな祭りにつながったといわれています。

 

旧暦は一月遅れで２０２３年の旧暦カレンダーによると、ひな祭りは４月２２日でございます。

 

地域によっては旧暦で節句行事を行うため一月遅れで雛人形を出し・しまいをするそうです。

 

 

 

形式的なルールは参考までに、あまり重視しなくても大丈夫。雛人形の本質はお子様の誕生を祝った身内からの贈りものであること。この贈りものに対する取扱いは、人の気持ちの取り扱いにも繋がります。
数日間つい忙しくて放置してしまったら、お雛様に「ごめんね」と「ありがとう」の気持ちを持ってちゃんと片付けることができれば、変な罪悪感を抱く必要はありませんし、お子様の婚期が遅れるような強制的な罰ゲームや呪いもありません。

 

雛人形の片付けは、普段あまり触れることのない伝統工芸品・伝統文化に触れることのできる貴重な瞬間です。特別感のある素材、職人の手作りの風合いを肌で感じながら、隅々まで作りの細かさを発見する時間にしてみましょう。
お子様が物心付く年齢になったら触り方・片付け方を教えながら、家族で片付けを楽しむ、という経験もお子様にとっては一生の想い出となります。
一晩で全ての片付けをしなくても大丈夫。今日はお屏風・明日はお人形、など数日に分けてゆっくり片付けるのも、また楽しみ方の一つですね。

 

後ろを向かせれば大丈夫という裏技があるそうですが、これは根拠も中身もない嘘だそうです。

 

おそらく「雛人形を早く片付けないとお嫁にいけなくなる」ということから逃れるために誰かが作った抜け道のようなものでしょう。

 

専門家から言わせると、雛人形を後ろ向きに置いて放置することのほうがよほど縁起の悪い慣習だとか。

 

「贈りものである雛人形を大事に扱うことは、贈り主や自分を大事に思ってくれる人を大事に思いやるということ」という雛人形を通して大事にされてきた教えをしっかりと捉えて、雛人形の出し・しまいを楽しむことが大切ですね。

Joshi no Sekku is one of the five seasonal festivals, originally held on Snake Day in early March, but later changed to March 3rd.

 

March 3rd is the season when peach blossoms bloom according to the lunar calendar, so it is also called “Peach Festival”.

 

Since ancient times, in China, there was a custom of purifying oneself in a river on the day of Joshi to ward off impurities.

 

This was introduced into Japan during the Heian period.

 

Later, a small human figure (Katashiro) was made from paper, impurities were transferred to it, and impurities were exorcised by throwing it into rivers and seas.

 

This custom still remains today as “nagashibina”.

 

Furthermore, it is a traditional event to pray for the healthy growth of girls.

 

Families with girls display hina dolls and offer white sake, hishimochi, rice crackers, peach blossoms, etc.

 

It is said that the dolls used to be filled with impurities and washed away in rivers and seas, but as the dolls gradually became more sophisticated, they began to be displayed instead of being washed away, and it developed into the Doll’s Festival.

 

At first, Hinamatsuri was held among the Imperial Court and among the nobility, but eventually it came to be held in the samurai society, and in the Edo period, it became an event for the common people.

 

 

 

Originally, it was held on May 5th along with Tango no Sekku, regardless of gender, but since around the Edo period, gorgeous Hina dolls have been considered to belong to girls, and Tango no Sekku is also called Iris Festival. From then on, it came to be considered a boy’s festival until ‘Naobu’.

 

 

 

For the first time in many years, my family brought out the hina dolls as an exchange student was coming.

 

When I was little, I had a hard time decorating it every year, and it was a little scary to see so many scary white-faced dolls lined up.

 

In the movie “That child is a noble” that I saw the other day, there was an impressive conversation between Hina dolls.

 

The young lady played by Mugi Kadowaki, who was born and raised in Tokyo, has three sisters, and each of them has their own hina doll.

 

In that conversation, there is a scene where Kiko Mizuhara, who is from the countryside, is surprised, and she was also shocked by N.

 

She thought that one house had only one hina doll, so she thought it would be very impressive if she imagined three hina dolls lined up.

 

If you think about the possibility of getting married and taking them to their respective homes, you may not have to fight one by one.

 

 

 

Now, when I decorate it for the first time in a long time, is it so handsome? When she took a closer look, she was fascinated by the fact that she had a very beautiful face.

 

Hina dolls have various faces, and her parents chose a handsome doll company (laughs).

 

Recently, we also have cute and compact hina dolls, so you can enjoy them easily.

 

Each child has their own items to carry, and I follow the instructions in the manual to let them carry them, but it is difficult to know who should carry what.

 

I try to put it in each hand and give it something that seems to fit well, but the doll itself may be thinking, “Huh? Is this this year?”

 

It was difficult for me to do it alone, so I asked an acquaintance to help me.

 

However, the hina decoration for the first time in a few years doesn’t go as expected.

 

First of all, an acquaintance pulled out the beard of the Minister of the Left (laughs).

 

The Minister of the Left is a cool grandpa with a white beard, but one of the sticks stuck in a bundle came off.

 

He managed to re-stab it, but his balance became unnatural.

 

Next, this happens every year, but I can’t tie an eboshi.

 

I have to tie a string to the head of that little hina doll with a bow, but I’ve never been able to do it beautifully.

 

It can’t be helped, so it’s a casual style where you can scratch your neck with an eboshi as usual.

 

And the musical instrument problem of Goninbayashi.

 

I gave them the instruments that seemed to fit in their hands in order, but the last one had a hand that could not hold the remaining instrument.

 

Their faces and clothes are similar, and I don’t know which one is which.

 

It would be nice if you could force me to pick up a different instrument.

“I’m a drummer! I can’t play the guitar!”

“Eh, I’ve played the guitar until now, but this year I’ll play the flute! I’ve never done it before, but I’ll do my best!”

It seems that you can hear the voice.

 

Overall, I feel like there were more offerings, but they may be getting less and less each year.

 

Finally, the biggest assassin is the cat.

 

It was my first time seeing hina dolls, and I was so curious that I quickly climbed up to the top floor of the hina doll zone.

 

I had closed the fusuma, but I discovered that I had to open it myself.

 

So far, I’m relieved that there’s no sign of dropping anything or mischief.

 

When I searched for cats and hina dolls, I found pictures of hina dolls that had been licked around and looked miserable.

 

 

 

My neatly tied hair exploded, and if my grandparents found out about it, they would get angry.

 

There is also a cat sitting next to the Hina dolls and taking a commemorative photo.

 

If you look closely, the cat is hidden in the top row, so please look for it.

 

We are waiting for the mission to clean up the hina dolls again tomorrow.

 

Since I put a lot of effort into decorating it, I feel like I want to keep it as it is,

 

 

 

It seems that there is no particular rule regarding the day when the Hina dolls are put away.

 

 

Celebrations are generally celebrated on days with good weather, such as Daian and Tomobiki, but it is not taboo to display Hina dolls on days when the weather is bad.

 

Originally, the role of Hina dolls is to ward off bad luck, so there is also the idea that they are more effective on bad days or bad days.

 

 

According to one theory, according to the theory of Yin and Yang in China, it is said that on March 3rd, the most unlucky day of the year, a custom that was held as an event to ward off misfortune led to the modern Hinamatsuri.

 

According to the lunar calendar in 2023, Hinamatsuri is April 22nd, which is one month behind the lunar calendar.

 

 

Depending on the region, it is said that the hina dolls are put out and put away one month later to hold festival events according to the lunar calendar.

 

 

 

 

Formal rules are just for reference, you don’t have to pay too much attention to them. The essence of Hina dolls is that they are gifts from relatives celebrating the birth of a child. The handling of this gift is also connected to the handling of people’s feelings.
If you are busy for a few days and leave it unattended, if you can clean up properly with the feeling of “I’m sorry” and “Thank you” to the hina dolls, you don’t have to feel strange guilt, and you don’t have to force yourself to delay your child’s marriage. There are no typical punishment games or curses.

 

Cleaning up Hina dolls is a precious moment when you can touch traditional crafts and traditional culture that you don’t usually get to touch. Let’s take the time to discover the details of every detail while feeling the special materials and the handmade texture of the craftsmen.
When your child reaches the age where they can remember, the experience of enjoying cleaning up as a family while teaching them how to touch and clean up will be a lifetime memory for them.
It’s okay if you don’t clean up everything in one night. Another way to enjoy it is to separate the items into several days, such as folding screens today and dolls tomorrow.

 

It seems that there is a trick that if you turn your back, it will be okay, but this seems to be a lie with no basis and content.

 

It’s probably something like a loophole made by someone to escape from the fact that “if you don’t put away the Hina dolls quickly, you won’t be able to get married.”

 

According to experts, it’s a much more unlucky custom to leave hina dolls facing backwards.

 

“Taking good care of the hina matsuri, which is a gift, means taking care of the giver and the person who cares about you.” It’s important to enjoy the end.
