Merry Christmas🎄！。

今日はクリスマスイブ。通勤の車から行き交う方の様子を眺めておりますと、忙しくもどことなくウキウキした表情の方が多いような気がいたします。みなさん何処へ向かているのでしょうね。

パーティやプレゼントなどなどいろいろ楽しみなクリスマスですが、自分くらいの年齢になりますと、さすがに驚くようなプレゼントはないのですが、毎年いつもお世話になっているお稽古事の先生からアンティークのポストカードを頂きます。

クリスマスのデザインのカードなのですが、聞くところによりますとアンティークカードのコレクターのようでして。お洒落な先生ですので集めているものもお洒落です。他にもお仕事がら、リバティの生地をたくさんコレクションしているようでして、こちらもお洒落ですね。

人って大なり小なり何かしらコレクションしているな…と思うのですが、こんなふうに、その人となりも伝わってきます。また、「なにか好きなもの集めてる？」って尋ねると意外なものだったりして、意外な人となりも分かったりもします。私は話題に困った時にこのコレクションをネタにすることがあるのですが、どの方も楽しそうに話してくださるので、会話に困ったときにはとても助かります。

また、このお仕事をしておりますと、やはり骨董品や古美術品もコレクションの最たるものでして、大好きな作家の作品や、好きな国、時代もの、窯の茶碗、刀剣甲冑などなどお客様の素晴らしいコレクション数々については語りつくせませんし、その多種多様さに感心することが多い仕事だとも思えます。

他にもTVでみたのですがマンホールのふたを集めている方や、定番のアニメのフィギア、推しのグッズ、高価なものでブランド物や時計などなど。また、小さな子供が外から拾った石を集めていたり、カードゲームのカードを集めたり、人の数だけコレクションってあるようで、面白いですよね。

また、そのコレクションが人によってはものすごい宝物に見えたり、はたまたガラクタに見えたり。小さな子供が得意げに集めてきた山盛りのダンゴムシに卒倒するおかあさんがいたり、自分にしか分からないあの世界、なんなのだろうな笑と、いつも思います。

自分もたまに集めることがあるのですが。一時期、美術館やイベント限定のマスキングテープの収集にハマりました。（些細なコレクションですが…）ただ、飽き性のためになかなか最後まで集めきれないことが多く、逆にきっちりと全部揃えられる人は凄いなあと憧れたりします。また、「ほしい」と思ったときに出揃っているものはまとめ買いしたりしてしまうので、「集めたい」という気持ち一つとっても、その程度・範囲・動機等、非常に個人差が大きいのもコレクションなのでしょうね。

それにしても、この「集める」という行動や「集めたい」という気持ちは、人間の本能に近い部分に存在しているのか、この「集めたい」という気持ちは、時にブースター（燃料）になり得る動機のような気もします。

私もマスキングテープを収集していた頃は、何かにとりつかれたように情報を集め、わざわざ遠方まで出向き購入し、そのことを人に話すとわざわざ買ってきてくれたりと、あのブースターはなんなんでしょうね笑。しかも自分にしかわからないんですよね。

とは言え、こっそりひっぱりだして誰にも見せずひとりコレクションをニンマリ眺める方もおいででしょうが、昨今のコレクションはSNSなどを見ていますと、それとは少し違ってきているような気がしています。自分もSNSで発信とまでは行きませんが、近しい人に得意げに見せたりしていた記憶がよみがえりますので、やはりそれを通して話したりしてどこかで人とつながりたい気持ちがあるのでしょうね。

さらにせっかく集めたしSNSにアップして、これを綺麗に揃えて人に見てもらいたい、ちょっと自慢したい、私みたいに話すきっかけにしたいなど「人と関わる」きっかけとして「集めたい」は、自己認知欲求をさらにに満たしてくれてて、そのブースターに拍車をかけるのでしょうね。

そういえば先日も猫ちゃんを飼っていて、猫ちゃんのグッズを集めている方とお話していますと、私も猫ちゃん好きなのもあり、やはり話は弾みました。また、猫ちゃんによってコミュニティが広がりいろんな情報も入って来るとのことで、ほんとにいろんな事よく知っていましたね笑。

こんなふうに現代の生活においてはコレクションはいろいろ繋がる・広がるツールとして、ひとつでも持っていた方がいいのかもとも思いました。

クリスマスからは話はずいぶんそれてしまいましたが、ちびっこのみなさん、今夜のサンタさんからのプレゼント楽しみでありますが、もしかしたらそのプレゼントが、みなさんのコレクションとなるものかもしれません。明日の朝楽しみですね。

Today is Christmas Eve. As I look at the people passing by from my car on the way to work, many of them seem to have a busy but somehow cheerful expression on their faces. I wonder where everyone is headed.

I am looking forward to all sorts of parties and gifts for Christmas, but when you are my age, you don’t really get any surprises, but every year I receive a gift of an antique postcard from a teacher at my regular practice.

The cards are Christmas cards, and from what I hear, she is a collector of antique cards, and since she is a fashionable teacher, the ones she collects are also stylish. She also has a large collection of Liberty fabrics from her work, which is also fashionable.

I think that people have some kind of collection, large or small, and this kind of collection also conveys the personality of the person. And when I ask them, “Do you collect anything you like? I also get an unexpected insight into their personality when I ask them if they collect anything they like. I sometimes use this collection as a topic of conversation when I am at a loss for a topic, and it is very helpful when I am at a loss for conversation because everyone seems to enjoy talking about it.

I can’t tell you about the many wonderful collections of my customers, such as works by their favorite artists, their favorite countries, period pieces, kiln bowls, swords and armor, etc., and I am often impressed by the variety of their collections. I can’t tell you about all the wonderful collections of our customers.

I have also seen people collecting manhole covers, anime figurines, collectibles, expensive brand-name items, watches, and so on. Also, small children collect rocks picked up from outside, collect cards from card games, etc. It is interesting that there seem to be as many collections as there are people.

It is also interesting to note that there seems to be as many collections as there are people, and depending on the person, the collection may look like a tremendous treasure, or it may look like a piece of junk. I always wonder what it is about that world that only I can understand.

I sometimes collect them myself. For a while, I got into collecting masking tapes limited to museums and events. (It is a trivial collection, but…) However, I am often too bored to finish collecting them all, so I admire those who are able to collect them all. I also tend to buy in bulk what is available when I feel like I want it, so even if I have a desire to collect something, the degree, scope, motivation, etc., varies greatly from person to person.

I feel that this “collecting” behavior and the desire to collect may exist in a part of human nature close to our instincts, and that this “desire to collect” may be a motivator that can become a booster (fuel).

When I was collecting masking tapes, I collected information as if I was obsessed with something, went all the way to a distant place to buy it, and when I told people about it, they went out of their way to buy it for me. And only I know what it is, right?

However, there are probably people who secretly pull out their collections and look at them without showing them to anyone, but looking at social networking sites, I have a feeling that collections these days are a little different. Although I don’t go so far as to say that I send out my collection on SNS, it brings back memories of proudly showing it to people close to me, so I guess I want to talk about it and connect with people somewhere.

I also want to upload my collection to SNS so that people can see how beautifully I have arranged them, or I want to show them off, or I want to use them as an opportunity to talk to people like I do.

Speaking of which, the other day I was talking with a person who has a cat and collects cat goods, and since I am also a cat lover, the conversation was still lively. He also told me that the cat community is expanding and that he is getting a lot of information about cats.

I thought that in today’s life, it might be a good idea to have at least one collection as a tool to connect and expand in various ways.

I know this is a long way off from Christmas, but I hope all of you little ones are looking forward to your presents from Santa Claus tonight, and maybe that present will be your collections, so I look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning.

昨日は冬至でしたが、皆さまどのように過ごされたでしょうか。私は年中行事にこだわる方ではないのですが、やらないと落ち着かない気持ちもあり、何となく流されて行事は一通り行っております。

冬至のゆず湯も欠かしたことがなかったのですが、昨日はすっかり忘れていました。「ゆずの香りの入浴剤ではだめでしょうか…」と誰に許しを乞うでもなく呟きながらバスタブに入れました。

さて今年も残すところわずかとなりました。友人との会話でよく出てくるのが「年々１年の長さが短くなっているよね…」です。１年３６５日、いえ今年はうるう年でしたので３６６日、日々色々なことが起こり、時も確実に刻まれていたはずなのですが、昨年末から一気にワープしてきた感覚があるのはなぜなのでしょうか。

こういう時に日記などを書いておくと良いのかもしれませんが、そのようなマメさは残念ながら持ち合わせていませんので、風光舎のブログを読み返して思い出すことができるのはとてもありがたいです。（誤字脱字に焦ることも多いですが…）

時間の過ぎる感覚は年を重ねるごとに大きく変わってくるようで、思い返すと子供の頃の１年は本当に長かった気がいたします。

先日ふと動物の時間の感覚はどうなのだろう？と友人の家の猫と遊びながら考えてしまいました。なんだか動きが優雅で、自分だけの時間の中で自由に生きているように見えました。

研究によりますと、代謝率や寿命、体のサイズなどにより時間の感覚に違いがあるといわれています。

例えば犬の時間感覚は平均寿命から計算して、大体人間の７分の１といわれ、人間の１日は犬の７日に感じられる可能性があるとのこと。猫は５分の１、マウスにいたっては３０分の１となるそうです。１日家でお留守番している犬や猫は、人間が思う以上に長い時間待っている感覚になるのでしょうか。ちょっと混乱してきました。

さらにハエやミツバチなどの昆虫やヒマワリやアサガオなどの植物、微生物にいたるまでもが時間感覚を持っている可能性があるとのこと。

いずれにしましても、人間の時間感覚が全てではないということを改めて認識いたしました。

現在では時計もデジタル化され、多くの人がスマホで時刻を確認するため共有する時刻が完全に一致しているという感覚があります。昔のように待ち合わせに遅れた際に「時計が遅れていて…」などと言い訳できなくなりましたね。

以前から不思議だったのですが電波時計の時刻を合わす電波はどこから来ているのでしょうか？

実は福島県のおおたかどや山標準電波送信所と佐賀県のはがね山標準電波送信所から送信される「標準電波」を受信しているとのこと。電波時計は、時計に内蔵されたアンテナで受信し時刻やカレンダーを修正し、うるう秒などによる時刻のずれも自動で修正するそうです。

そしてその時刻の基準になるものは世界中に設置された「４００台のセシウム原子時計」の平均値から求められています。

かつては世界のそれぞれの場所で太陽の動きから読みとっていた時刻が１８８４年にロンドンのグリニッジ天文台を通る本初子午線を基準とし世界共通の時刻が定められました。しかし地球の自転速度の変動により正確性に欠けることから、自転に頼らず正確に１秒を計測するために開発されたのがセシウム原子時計です。１秒間に約９１億回振動することにより１秒を正確に定義できるそうで、ちょっと気の遠くなるお話です。

少し息が詰まりそうな気もしますが、今はこの正確さがないとままならないことも多いのでしょうね。

来年は時間に追われて１年間何をしていたのだろうということが無いように、いくつか目標を立てようかと思っております。

Yesterday was the winter solstice. I am not a person who is particular about annual events, but I feel uncomfortable if I don’t do them.

I have never missed a yuzu bath on the winter solstice, but I completely forgot about it yesterday. I put it in the bathtub, muttering to myself, “Can’t I use yuzu-scented bath salts…?

Now, there are only a few days left in this year. In conversations with friends, I often hear, “The length of the year is getting shorter every year…” There are 365 days in a year, or 366 days this year because it is a leap year, and many things happen every day. Why is it that I feel as if I have been at warp speed since the end of last year?

It might be a good idea to keep a diary or something at times like this, but unfortunately I don’t have that kind of patience, so I’m very grateful to be able to read back the blog of Fukosha and remember things. (Although I often get impatient with typos and omissions…)

The passage of time seems to vary from person to person and from age to age. I wondered about this while playing with a cat at a friend’s house. It seems to move gracefully and live freely in its own time.

According to research, there are differences in the sense of time depending on metabolic rate, lifespan, body size, and other factors.

For example, a dog’s sense of time is said to be roughly one-seventh that of humans, calculated from the average life span, and a human day may feel like a dog’s seven days. A dog or cat that stays at home for a day may feel as if it has been waiting for a longer time than we humans think. I am a little confused.

One theory suggests that insects such as flies and bees, plants such as sunflowers and morning glories, and even microorganisms may have a sense of time.

In any case, the human sense of time is not all there is.

Nowadays, clocks are digitalized and many people check the time on their smartphones, so the shared time is perfectly synchronized, and we can no longer make excuses such as “My watch was late…” when we are late for a meeting as in the past.

I have always wondered where the radio waves that set the time for radio-controlled clocks come from.

In fact, they receive “standard radio waves” transmitted from the Ootadoya Mountain Standard Radio Transmitting Station in Fukushima Prefecture and the Haganeyama Standard Radio Transmitting Station in Saga Prefecture. Radio-controlled clocks use antennas built into the clock to receive and correct the time and calendar, and they also automatically correct time deviations due to leap seconds and other factors.

The standard time is determined from the average of 400 cesium atomic clocks around the world.

In 1884, the time that used to be read from the movement of the sun in each place in the world was standardized to a universal time based on the prime meridian line passing through Greenwich Observatory in London. The cesium atomic clock was developed to accurately measure a second without relying on the earth’s rotation, and it is said to be able to accurately define a second by oscillating approximately 9 billion times per second, which sounds a bit daunting.

It may seem a little breathtaking, but I suppose there are many things we cannot do without this precision nowadays.

I would like to set some goals for next year so that I don’t have to wonder what I have been doing all year.

昨日忘年会を開催された皆様も多かったのではないでしょうか。夜の街中が大変賑わっておりました。

さてさてそんなトップシーズンのなか、古美術風光舎も昨日、店主・スタッフが集まり、忘年会を開催いたしました。

肉です笑。

メンバー全員「肉好き」ということで、忘年会は焼肉になりまして。ものすごい勢いで全員肉を完食いたしました笑。

いえいえ、肉に集中しただけではありませんよ。ちゃんと今年のお仕事の振り返りや来年の抱負なども飛び交い、たいへん賑やかな忘年会でありました。

店主、今年もごちそうさまです。

さてさて、今年は皆さまにとってどんな一年でありましたでしょうか。

このお仕事を通して、個人的はやはり「片づけたい」というお客様が年々多くなったな…という印象であります。また、昨今は環境への配慮から、廃棄してしまうのであれば気軽にどなたかにお譲りしたいという流れがここ数年定着したなという印象も受けました。

この時期は、この一年お伺しましたお客様のことを振り返るのですが、ご自身のみならず、親子で買取依頼に来られたり状況やご相談内容は様々であり、こちらといたしましても対応は様々。ですが、お客様にご納得いただけるよう精一杯ご対応させていただき駆け抜けた一年でありました。

その際に、長年大切にされておりました御品の思い出の話をお聞きしたり、どこか思い出にひたるお客様の表情などを思い出しますと、こらも大切に譲り受けそしてお渡ししていかなければ…などと身の引き締まる気持ちにもなります。お客様にとっては少し寂しい瞬間ではありますが、思い出の御品を手放されても積み重ねてきた思い出は消えませんので、どうか大切に胸の内にずっと残してほしいものですね。

来年も古美術風光舎はお客様に寄り添った古美術店として（お肉でパワーもお補給もしましたし）頑張ってまいります。どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます！。

I am sure that many of you held year-end parties yesterday. The city was very lively at night.

Yesterday, the owner and staff of Fumikosha Antiques also held a year-end party.

Since all the members are “meat lovers,” the year-end party turned out to be a yakiniku (barbecue) party, and we ate all the meat at a very fast pace.

No, we didn’t just focus on the meat. It was a very lively year-end party, with many conversations about this year’s work and aspirations for the next year. Thank you again, owner, for the food and drinks.

Now, what kind of year was it for you this year?

My personal impression through this job is that the number of customers who want to “clean up” has been increasing every year…. I also have the impression that, due to environmental considerations, the trend of wanting to give items away to someone else has taken root over the past few years.

This is the time of year when we look back on the customers we have visited over the past year, and we see that not only the customers themselves but also their parents and children come to us with purchase requests. We have been able to respond to our customers’ requests in a variety of situations, and our responses have varied.

When we hear about the memories of the items that have been cherished for many years and see the expressions on the customers’ faces as they reminisce about their memories, we feel a sense of duty to take good care of them and hand them over to the next generation. It is a bit of a sad moment for our customers, but even if they let go of their memorable items, the memories they have accumulated will not disappear, so we hope that they will cherish them and keep them in their hearts forever.

We will continue to do our best as an antique store that is close to our customers in the coming year, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

「詰め放題」。なぜかやっている人を見ると、ついついやりたくなってしまい、これ以上は無理だと分かっていても、どうにかねじ込みたくなるのは私だけでしょうか。

先日、友人に誘われ「ブラックサンダー」の楽園、愛知県豊橋市でブラックサンダー詰め放題をやってきました。

スーパーやコンビニで見かけるお菓子「ブラックサンダー」。実は工場併設の直営店で詰め放題が楽しめるのです。

子どもから大人まで多くの人に愛されている有楽製菓の「ブラックサンダー」は、1994年から販売を開始し、2024年に30周年を迎えました。今でこそ、年間販売個数2億個を突破する大ヒット商品ですが、発売当初は売り上げ不振が続き、一度は終売の危機にも瀕したそうです。

「ブラックサンダー」が愛知県豊橋市の工場で作られていることから、豊橋市内はブラックサンダー柄のマンホールがあったり、企業とのコラボでラッピング電車「ブラックサンダー号」が走っていたりします。ちなみに、マンホールは広小路通りにあり、うまくいけば「ブラックサンダー号」と一緒に写真が撮れるとか。

もしかしたらブラックサンダーをご存じない方もいるかもしれないので説明すると、ブラックサンダーとは、ココアクッキーとプレーンビスケットをチョコレートでコーティングしたお菓子のことですよ。

その知名度が全国区となったのは、2008年。北京五輪の直前に体操の内村航平選手が取材の中で「好きなお菓子はブラックサンダーです」と語ったのがきっかけでした。その翌年の販売数はなんと1億個を突破したのだそう。

有楽製菓豊橋夢工場直営店。ブラックサンダーファンには限定商品が購入できるのもたまらないですが、目玉は何といっても「ブラックサンダー詰め放題」。豊橋市に来たらこれですよ、皆さま！

ルールはシンプルで、制限時間10分以内に渡される袋へ詰めるだけ。適当に重ねてしまうとたくさん入れることはできません。店員さんから詰め方のコツを教えていただいてからスタートです。

大胆に、それでいて優しくブラックサンダーを袋に詰めていきます。隙間を埋める様に縦に入れていきます。大量のブラックサンダーを目の前にテンションが上がり過ぎて無心でどんどん入れてしまいがちですが、焦りは禁物。土台となる下段に縦に隙間なく入れていくのがたくさん詰めるコツですよ。

制限時間は10分なので、丁寧に詰めていると時間が無くなってしまいます。ちなみに専用の袋は伸縮性がないので、無理に伸ばすと破れてしまうのでご注意を。袋からはみ出た分は残念ながら没収となります。

結果は47個！詰め放題は1000円で、ブラックサンダーの商品価格は1個40円。25個以上詰めれば元が取れる計算なので、かなり頑張りました（笑）

詰め放題の他にも、ブラックサンダーのロゴが入った防災用のヘルメットや歴代の商品パッケージがズラリと並ぶ大型パネル、社長のトリックアートがお出迎えなど、テンション爆上がりの楽しいひと時となりました。

I’m not the only one who is tempted to do it when I see someone else doing it. For some reason, when I see someone doing it, I just want to do it, and even if I know I can’t go any further, am I the only one who wants to screw it up somehow?

The other day, a friend invited me to an all-you-can-eat Black Thunder stuffing event in Toyohashi, Aichi, the paradise of “Black Thunder.

Black Thunder” is a candy that can be found in supermarkets and convenience stores. In fact, you can enjoy all-you-can-stuffing Black Thunder at a store directly managed by the factory.

Black Thunder” by Yuraku Seika, loved by everyone from children to adults, has been on sale since 1994, and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024. Today, the product is a big hit, selling more than 200 million units annually, but sales were sluggish when it was first launched, and at one point the company was on the verge of discontinuing the product.

Since Black Thunder is made at a factory in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, there are manholes in Toyohashi City with a Black Thunder pattern, and the “Black Thunder-go” train, a collaboration with a company, runs in the city. Incidentally, the manhole is located on Hirokoji Street, and hopefully you can take a picture with “Black Thunder-go”.

For those of you who may not know what Black Thunder is, it is a candy consisting of cocoa cookies and plain biscuits coated with chocolate.

It was in 2008 that it became nationally known. Just before the Beijing Olympics, gymnast Kohei Uchimura said in an interview, “My favorite candy is Black Thunder. The following year, sales exceeded 100 million units.

Yuraku Seika Toyohashi Dream Factory directly operated store. Black Thunder fans will love the limited-edition products available for purchase, but the highlight is the “all-you-can-stuff Black Thunder”.If you come to Toyohashi, this is the place to be, folks!

The rules are simple: you have only 10 minutes to fill the bags you are given. You can’t put in too many if they are stacked in the right order. The waiter gave me some tips on how to fill the bags before we started.

Boldly, yet gently, pack the Black Thunder into the bag. Fill the bag vertically so as to fill in the gaps. It is easy to get too excited with a large amount of Black Thunder in front of you and mindlessly put in more and more, but don’t be in a hurry. The trick is to fill the bottom layer, which is the base of the bag, vertically without gaps.

The time limit is 10 minutes, so if you pack carefully, you will run out of time. Note that the special bags are not elastic, so be careful not to stretch them too much or they will tear. Unfortunately, the portion of the bag that is overflowed will be confiscated.

The result was 47 pieces! The price for the all-you-can-stuff is 1,000 yen, and the price of each Black Thunder is 40 yen, so if you stuffed more than 25 pieces, you could get your money’s worth, so we worked pretty hard (laugh).

In addition to the all-you-can-stuff it, we were also greeted by an emergency helmet with the Black Thunder logo, a large panel of past product packages, and the president’s trick art.

今朝は本当に寒かったですよね。今年は全国的に初雪が早い地域が多いような気がいたしますが、いきなりの寒波にいろいろ追いついていなくて、今朝はおかしな重ね着をしての出勤になってしまいました。

それにしても雪が降ると、移動はどうしようか、何を着ていこうか、今日の予定は大丈夫か…などなど現代人はどうしてもざわざわしてしまうのですが、古人たちはきっと大概のことが無ければ「もう無理だから今日の予定は明日にしよう。」などともうあきらめて雪を呆然と眺めていたのでしょうか。雪をみて歌を詠んだり、楽器を奏でたり、雪に思いを巡らしたり、家の中の仕事をしたり…などなど雪の中での生活がそんなにざわざわしていない印象ですし、先日終わった「光る君へ」ではないですが上流階級にとっては風流なイメージであります。

そんな雪からインスピレーションを受けた銘品も多いように思いますが、

たとえば、本阿弥光悦作　重要文化財の赤楽茶碗『雪峯』。

皆さまご存知かと思われますが、東京都港区にあります畠山記念館に所蔵されている銘品。自分もなかなかチャンスがなく一度は実物を拝見してみたいお茶碗のひとつであります。何が気になるかといいますと、

窯割れの部分。一体どうやって生じてどうやって継いだのだろうかと誰でも考えてしまいまうのですが、光悦はこの部分を雪解けの渓流にみたてて、白釉の部分を山嶺に積もる雪に見立てたことから「雪峯」の銘をつけたのでしょうか。また、くるりと反対側に眼を移すとまた驚きの光景があって、細い漆の線による微細な金継ぎに惚れ惚れしてし、この金継部分もこのお茶碗の魅力のひとつのようです。

他にも気になるのが窯割れと並ぶ雪峯の見所といってもよいのが高台周りでして、もう高台が見えなくなるくらい胴に沈んでいるんでいます。窯の中で自重に耐えきれなくなり見込みの内側に隠れてしまったかのようで、こんなの狙って作ろうとしても無理といわれる茶碗No.1かもしれませんね…。そんな景色にいろいろあったけどそれを雪の峯にみたてて、また気になる要素ポイントでもってさらに目を引くのですから、本阿弥光悦のセンスが時代を超えてチャーミングなところがなんだか現代人にささります。

他にも国宝 白楽茶碗『不二山』や、赤楽茶碗『雪片』など本阿弥光悦の茶碗には雪を見立てた銘品が存在しますが、本阿弥光悦の茶碗は作行きによって大きく二分されるようです。一つは国宝 白楽茶碗『不二山』に代表される半筒形のもの、一は赤楽茶碗『雪片』や重要文化財『雪峯』に代表される腰の丸い形のものなどです。近年、光悦茶碗として認められるものはそれらをあわせても三十碗ほどあるとされているのですが、その中の有名な数個は雪を見立てた作品ですから、本阿弥光悦は雪は大好きなモチーフであったのでしょうか。それよりなにより雪をみたてた銘品をいくつか眺めてみますと、我々のような生活を送っていては絶対に生まれない作品だな…というのはよく伝わります。

そんなことを考えているうちに、そうだ、来年はそれを実感するべくこの目でこの茶碗の雪の景色を眺めに行こうかな…などと浮かんできまして。

いつの間にか、来年の小さな夢となっておりました…。

It was really cold this morning. I have a feeling that many areas in Japan have seen their first snowfall earlier this year, but the sudden cold wave has not caught up with the rest of the country, so I had to put on some strange layers of clothing this morning.

When it snows, we modern people tend to get nervous about what to do, what to wear, whether our plans for the day will be all right, etc. But I am sure that the ancients, if nothing serious happened, would have said, “It’s too late, let’s make today’s plans for tomorrow. I wonder if the ancients would have given up and just looked at the snow with a blank stare, thinking, “It’s too much to take care of today’s plans. I have the impression that life in the snow is not so busy, such as composing songs, playing musical instruments, thinking about the snow, working inside the house, etc. It is not “To Hikaru-kun,” which ended the other day, but it is an elegant image for the upper class.

I think there are many fine works of art inspired by such snow,

For example, “Yukimine,” an important cultural property red raku tea bowl by Hon’ami Koetsu.

As you may know, this is a masterpiece in the collection of Hatakeyama Memorial Museum in Minato-ku, Tokyo. It is one of the tea bowls that I would like to see the real thing at least once. What is it that I am interested in?

The cracks in the kiln. However, Koetsu may have given the inscription “Seppou” to this part as it was made to look like a mountain stream with melting snow, and the white glazed part as snow piling up on the mountain ridge. Also, if you turn your eyes to the other side, you will be surprised to see the fine kintsugi (gold joints) with thin lines of lacquer.

The other interesting part of Seppou, along with the cracks in the kiln, is the area around the base of the bowl, which has sunk into the body to the extent that the base is no longer visible. It seems as if it could not bear its own weight in the kiln, and it has been hidden inside of the prospect, and it may be the No. 1 teacup that is said to be impossible to make even if you try to make such a bowl. The sense of Hon’ami Koetsu is charming beyond the times, and it is a little bit touching to the people of today.

There are other famous Hon’ami Koetsu teacups that are made to look like snow, such as the National Treasure Shiraku teacup “Fujisan” and the Akaraku teacup “Yukikata”, but it seems that Hon’ami Koetsu’s teacups are largely divided into two groups according to the way they are made. One is the semi-tubular shape represented by the National Treasure Shiraku tea bowl “Fujisan”, and the other is the round waist shape represented by the Akaraku tea bowl “Yukikata” and the Important Cultural Property “Yukimine”. In recent years, it is said that there are about 30 Koetsu teabowls that are recognized as Koetsu teabowls in total, but since several of the most famous ones were made to resemble snow, it seems that snow was Hon’ami Koetsu’s favorite motif. Looking at some of the famous snow-inspired works, it is clear that they would never have been created in a life like ours.

As I was thinking about this, it occurred to me that, yes, next year I would like to go see the snowy scenery of this teacup with my own eyes in order to realize this…. Okay, I’ll make this a small dream for next year.
