甲子園、東北勢初　仙台育英高校優勝おめでとうございます。

 

知人が甲子園が大好きで、昔はよく一緒に見ておりました。

 

昔は高校球児の気持ちになっていましたが、今は高校球児の母親のような気持ちで心配でたまりません。

 

大事な場面でエラーしてしまったり、最後の打球が自分に回ってくるプレッシャーを考えると胃が痛くなってしまいます。

 

知人曰く、甲子園は負ける悔しさを経験するのが大切なんだとおっしゃっていました。

 

知人は、甲子園に行きたくても行けなかった、あの悔しさで今も仕事を頑張っているそうです。

 

また高校生に戻って甲子園を目指したいと毎年言っています。

 

 

Nは、見るとつられて必ず泣いてしまうので、今年は決勝だけ拝見いたしました。

 

 

仙台育英というと有名なので、何度も優勝しているイメージでしたが、準優勝が多かったのですね。

 

仙台駅では、号外に人だかりができたそうです。

 

そして今日は、韓国野球委員会が制定した野球の日だそうです。

2008年のこの日、北京五輪の野球競技で韓国代表チームが優勝しました。

 

海外の知人の野球のグローブを見せてもらったことがあるのですが、サイズが大きくて驚きました。

 

これは大きくて取りやすいからずるいのでは？と少し思ってしまいましたが、あまり関係ないようですね。

 

東北勢優勝、秋田の知人もさぞよろこんでいることでしょう。

 

今日は秋田市千秋公園　大手門前お堀の蓮の花のお写真をお届けいたします。

 

 

 

 

 

秋田駅西口から徒歩５分。

秋田藩佐竹氏20万石の居城である久保田城跡を整備した「千秋公園」入り口にある「大手門の堀」には、淡いピンクや白の「蓮の花」が7月下旬から咲き始め９月上旬までの約２ヶ月にわたり咲き誇ります。

２０２１年より蓮の花を７色に輝くＬＥＤ照明で艶やかにライトアップ（19時から22時まで）し、「音と光のイルミネーションショー」（19時から21時まで・１時間に３回程度）が実施されております。

 

Nが行った際はお昼だったので、ライトアップを見ることができませんでした。

 

一面の蓮の花、圧巻でございました。

 

遠くから見ると畑のように見えて、中に入ってインスタ映え写真を撮れそうに見えますが、近づいて下を見ると池なので注意です。

 

Nも蓮に見とれて何回も水があることを忘れておりました。

 

ここで蓮について調べてみました。

 

 

 

ハス（蓮、学名：Nelumbo nucifera）は、インド原産のハス科多年性水生植物でございます。

 

皆さまご存知レンコンは漢字で「蓮根」と書きますが、実は蓮の根ではなく、蓮の茎が蓮根なんだそうです。

 

日本での古名「はちす」は、花托の形状を蜂の巣に見立てたとするのが通説でございます。

 

ハスの花と睡蓮（スイレン）を指して「蓮華」（れんげ）といい、仏教とともに伝来し古くから使われた名前です。

そういえば、小さい頃お寺さんが来て、南無妙法蓮華経（なむみょうほうれんげきょう）と唱えておりました。

原産地はインド亜大陸とその周辺で、地中の地下茎から茎を伸ばし水面に葉を出します。

 

 

草高は約1メートルで、茎に通気のための穴が通っております。

 

水面よりも高く出る葉もございます（スイレンにはありません）。

 

日本においては食べやすく切った茎を煮物の材料として用います。

産地である秋田県では、茎を用いた砂糖漬けが作られているそうです。

ハスの花、すなわち蓮華は、清らかさや聖性の象徴として称えられることが多い。

古来インドでは、インダス文明の頃から、ハスの花は聖なる花とされ、地母神信仰と結びつき、神聖なるものの象徴とされていました。

 

たしかに蓮の花というと、仏教のイメージですね。

 

ヒンドゥー教の神話やヴェーダやプラーナ聖典などにおいて、ハスは特徴的なシンボルとして繰り返し登場致します。

 

蓮と言えば、アニメ鬼滅の刃の主題歌のLiSA「紅蓮華」が有名ですよね。

 

 

 

 

まさに高校球児にぴったりですね。

At Sendai Station, it seems that there was a crowd in the extra edition.

 

And it seems that today is baseball day established by the Korean Baseball Committee.

On this day in 2008, the South Korean national team won the baseball competition at the Beijing Olympics.

 

I was once shown a baseball glove by an acquaintance overseas, and was surprised at how big it was.

 

It’s big and easy to take, so it’s unfair. I thought about it for a while, but it doesn’t seem to matter.

Today, I’m sending you a photo of the lotus flowers in the moat in front of the Otemon Gate in Senshu Park, Akita City.

 

 

 

5 minutes walk from Akita Station West Exit.
