氷の季節、早くも到来！？（愛知県名古屋市千種区姫池通 骨董買取 古美術風光舎）

昨日、LINEニュースで「群馬県・伊勢崎市で４０℃を観測」と速報が入りました。６月で４０℃！？
驚きつつ詳しくみてみると、どうやら６月に４０℃を観測するのは国内でも観測史上初めてのことだそうです。
６月で４０℃だったら、７～９月はどうなってしまうのだろうと不安な気持ちが募りますが…
暑ければ暑いほど、美味しく感じる夏の風物詩「かき氷」を思い出し、そろそろ解禁しちゃおうかなと！！すでにいくつか行ってみたいお店の候補があるので、順番に行きたいと思います（笑）
ところで、かき氷というと、古くは平安時代に書かれた「枕草子」に「けづりひ氷（削り氷）」という名で登場します。当時は冷凍庫や製氷機などはなく、夏の氷は非常に貴重なもの。
冬の間に天然の氷を切り出して、山の麓の穴倉や洞窟の奥に作った「氷室（ひむろ）」という貯蔵施設に保存し、夏に氷を切り出して都に運び、宮中で暑気払いを行っていたといわれています。
運ぶ間にも氷は解け、御所に着く頃には氷は小さくなり、その氷を小刀で削って食べることができたのは、一部の貴族階級の人たちだけだったのです。
明治時代になると全国各地に製氷所ができ、氷を売る「氷屋」が増え、その結果、氷がお店や一般家庭でも簡単に手に入るようになったということです。
昭和に入るとかき氷機はお店に普及していき、かき氷は庶民的な食べ物となりました。
氷を削る方法は時代とともに変化していますが、「かき氷」は変わらず食される夏の涼です。
ちなみに、日本初のかき氷屋がオープンしたのは、文久２（１８６２）年の夏。
箱館や諏訪湖から氷を運び、横浜の馬車道通りに日本で最初のかき氷屋「氷水屋」をオープンさせました。
開店当初は、「おなかに悪い」という噂のせいでなかなか売れなかった氷水（こおりすい）でしたが、ひとたび安全だとわかると、夏の暑さもあって爆発的に売れたそうです。１杯２文（現代で５０円）で、２時間並ばないと買えないほどの人気だったとか。
様々な困難を乗り越えて生まれてきたかき氷。感謝でいっぱいです。
ちなみに現代のかき氷は？というと・・・
洋風なティラミス味のかき氷だったり、フルーツがたくさんのったかき氷もあります。
他にも、台湾のかき氷「シェファーピン（雪花氷）」や、韓国のかき氷「ピンス（氷水）」といった世界各地のかき氷も人気ですよね。
かき氷の種類の話を始めるとキリがないのですが、皆さまはどんなかき氷がお好きですか？

We carried ice from Hakodate and Lake Suwa and opened the first shaved ice shop in Japan, “Hyomizuya,” on Bashamichi-dori in Yokohama. At the beginning of the store, ice water was difficult to sell due to rumors that it was “bad in the stomach”, but once it was found to be safe, it sold explosively due to the heat of summer. It was so popular that you couldn’t buy it without lining up for two hours for two sentences per cup (50 yen in modern times).
