みなさまは「厄除けだんご」と聞くと、どちらのお団子を思い出すでしょうか？

大きな神社仏閣の門前町では、時々見かけますよね。

お参りにいくと、美味しいものセンサーが働く私は気づくとそんなお店に立ち寄っていますが、たいていはみたらし団子が多いのかな、と思います。

でも、静岡県出身の私は、厄除けだんごの断トツ１位がやはり「法多山（はったさん）尊永寺」の名物ではないかと思います。

以前、テレビの「ケンミンショー」などで紹介されたこともあり、全国的にもご存じの方も多いのではないでしょうか。

『法多山は、寺号を尊永寺と称する、高野山真言宗の別格本山です。本尊正観世音菩薩は厄除開運のご利益に霊験あらたかであるとして、古来より俗に厄除観音と呼ばれております。神亀二年（七二五）、聖武天皇の勅命を受けた行基上人が大悲観音応臨の聖地をこの地に探し求め、自ら刻んだ本尊正観世音菩薩を安置したのが縁起といわれています。本尊の霊徳は遠く京都に及び、白河、後白河天皇の勅願あつく定額寺の列に加えられていました。その後今川、豊臣、徳川等武将の信仰を得て、特に慶長七年（一六〇二）、徳川家康公より五万石の格式を以って遇せられ、一山十二坊の法燈が栄えましたが、明治維新に朱印地返還、十二坊を廃して総号尊永寺と改め今日に至りました。』

法多山はこのようなお寺で、厄除けのご祈祷の護摩焚きがとても有名です。地元の方にも愛されるお寺で、厄年のお祓いはたいてい、こちらのお寺にくるのが習わしです。

さて、冒頭に申しました、厄除けだんご。

こちらは、法多山の境内でのみ販売されている名物団子なんです。

そう、サービスエリアなど他で売られることのない、現地に行かなくては食べられない大変貴重な代物です！

でも、買う場所が法多山のみに限られるというだけで、１箱６００円というとても買いやすいお値段で売られているんです。

静岡県西部にお住いの方でしたら、お参りにいった近所の方からよくいただくお土産で、年間に３回以上は食べるおだんごではないでしょうか。

私も昔はそうでした。（笑）

実際、法多山ではお土産袋に５箱、１０箱と持って帰る方をよく見かけます。

この厄除けだんごを配ることで、自分の厄も落としてくれると言われていますし、もらった方も美味しく厄落としに協力出来て、まさに幸せのお団子です。

こちらの厄除けだんごは、徳川家十三代将軍・家定公の頃にお正月の献上品となったようで、将軍家から「くし団子」とご命名賜って以来１５０年以上、一般参拝客に愛されているそうです。

串にさした団子は、頭・首・胴体・手・脚を表しており、団子に厄除けの意味を込めたと伝えられています。

法多山の境内のだんご茶屋にて「厄除けだんご」は、販売されています。

イートインと、お土産とあり、参拝後にだんご茶屋でちょっといっぷくが私の小さいころからの至極のひと時でした。

イートインでは、歩き疲れた身体に、甘さ控えめのお団子とほのかな香りのする深蒸しの袋井茶のセットが用意されています。

それが１皿（２かさ）で200円というお値打ちさも魅力です。

一つの串に単三電池くらいの大きさのお餅が刺さったものが５本並んで、１かさになっています。

その上に、甘さ控えめのこし餡がのっかっていて、それが絶妙のバランスなんですよ。（昔はもっとたっぷりあんこがのっていたような気もしますが、今くらいが本当にちょうど良いです。）

お餅もとても柔らかく、１かさペロッといってしまいます。

だから、２かさがちょうど良い量なんです。

昔から保存料など使用せず、変わらない形・味・ほどよい甘さで作られてきたそうで、日持ちがしないので、遠くの方にとっては幻のお土産になってしまうのですね。

また、法多山の御縁日（お茶湯日）に参拝すれば、日によって違いますが90日から6,000日の間お参りしたのと同じだけのご利益があるといわれます。

そして、その御縁日（月に１日あるようです）に合わせて、だんご茶屋では「茶だんご」を限定販売しているそうです。

私はまだ出会ったことがありませんが、ご縁日にもいつかお参りしてみたいです。

先日、実家に帰った際に父親と久しぶりに法多山に参拝し、だんご茶屋でも厄除けだんごを食べ、お土産でもたっぷり堪能しました。

おみくじでは「凶」がでましたが、お団子を食べたことで体の中から厄落としできたのかな、と思っています。（笑）

（ちなにも、法多山のおみくじは「凶」が多くて有名で、私も父も「凶」でしたよ…。）

However, I’m from Shizuoka prefecture, and I think that Hattasan Son-ei-ji Temple is the most famous dumpling for warding off evil.

It was introduced on TV “Kenmin Show” before, so many of you may be familiar with it nationwide.

What is Hattasan?
“Hatasan is a special head temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect, whose temple name is called Sonei-ji. Since ancient times, the principal image of the Kannon Bodhisattva has been commonly referred to as the Apotropaic Magic Kannon, as it is a spiritual test for the benefit of good luck. It is said that in the second year of Jinki (725), Gyoki Shonin, who was ordered by Emperor Shomu, searched for a sacred place for the great pessimistic Kannon and enshrined the main Buddhist image of the Kanzeon Bodhisattva. increase. The spiritual virtue of the principal idol extends far into Kyoto, and was added to the line of the fixed-price temples of Shirakawa and Emperor Go-Shirakawa. After that, he gained the worship of warlords such as Imakawa, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa, and was treated by Ieyasu Tokugawa in the form of 50,000 stones, especially in the 7th year of Keicho (1602). Hattasan is such a temple, and it is very famous for its prayer for warding off evil. It is a temple that is loved by the locals, and it is customary to come to this temple for the prayers of the bad years.

This is a famous dumpling sold only in the precincts of Hattasan.

Yes, it is a very valuable item that cannot be eaten without going to the site, which is not sold elsewhere such as in the service area!

However, just because the place to buy is limited to Hattasan, it is sold at a very easy-to-buy price of 600 yen per box.

If you live in the western part of Shizuoka prefecture, it’s a souvenir that you often get from the neighbors who visit you, and it’s probably a bun that you eat at least three times a year.

I used to be like that. (Lol)

In fact, in Hattasan, we often see people who bring 5 or 10 souvenir bags with them.

It is said that by handing out this apotropaic magic dumpling, you will be able to get rid of your own apotropaic magic, and the people who received it will be able to help you get rid of the apotropaic magic.

This apotropaic magic seems to have been a gift for the New Year when the 13th Tokugawa Shogunate, Iesada, was given the name “Kushi Dango” by the Shogunate, and has been loved by general worshipers for over 150 years. It seems that it has been done.

The dumplings on the skewers represent the head, neck, torso, hands, and legs, and it is said that the dumplings have the meaning of warding off evil.

“Apotropaic magic dumplings” are sold at the dumpling teahouse in the precincts of Hattasan.

There was an eat-in and a souvenir, and after worshiping, I had a little bit of a dice at the dango teahouse, which was the perfect time since I was little.

At Eat-in, a set of low-sweetness dumplings and deep-steamed Fukuroi tea with a faint scent is prepared for a tired body.

The value of 200 yen for one plate (2 pieces) is also attractive.

Five pieces of rice cake, about the size of an AA battery, are lined up on one skewer to form a single piece.

On top of that, there is a low-sweetness strained bean paste, which is a perfect balance. (I feel like there was more bean paste in the past, but now it’s really just right.)

The mochi is also very soft, and it’s called 1 bulky.

Therefore, 2 is just the right amount.

It seems that it has been made with the same shape, taste, and moderate sweetness without using preservatives for a long time, and since it does not last long, it will be a phantom souvenir for people far away.

In addition, it is said that if you visit Hattasan’s fair (Ochayu Day), you will get the same benefits as if you visited for 90 to 6,000 days, depending on the day.

And, according to the fair (it seems that there is one day a month), the dango teahouse sells “cha-dango” for a limited time.

I haven’t met him yet, but I would like to visit him someday on a fair day.

The other day, when I returned to my parents’ house, I visited Hattasan with my father for the first time in a long time, ate dumplings at a dango teahouse, and enjoyed plenty of souvenirs.

There was a “bad” in the fortune telling, but I wonder if eating the dumplings helped me get rid of it from inside my body. (Lol)
