こんにちは。名古屋では日増しに気温も上がり、五日ほど前には今年初めての夏日を迎えました。

全国的に最高気温が25℃以上の地域が増え、九州では何と30度を超しているところもあるそうです。

ところで皆さま、読書週間はいつなのか知っていますか？

読書の秋という言葉に連想される通り、十月の後半から、十一月にかけてです。

 

終戦間もない1947年の日本で、「読書の力によって、平和な文化国家を作ろう」という決意のもと開催されたのが始まりだそうです。

今日に至るまで、読書週間は愛され続けており、昨年も感染症対策を行いながら、企画が多く用意されました。

 

また、読書週間の始まる10月27日は「文字・活字文化の日」として認定されました。

ところで、文字と活字は何が違うのでしょうか。

文字は、人間が発している言葉を目で見て理解できるよう、図式化したもの。活字は、活版印刷によって印字された文字のことを指すそうです。

 

日本の国民的行事として、定着した「読書週間」ですが、なんと「こどもの読書週間」というものもあります。

四月の後半から、五月にかけてのちょうど今の時期です。図書館や学校などで、ポスターをご覧になった方もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。

こどもの読書週間が始まったのは、1959年のことです。子どもたちに、本を読む楽しさを知っていてほしいという思いもありますが、

子どもだけではなく、大人が子どもの読書について今一度考えてみてほしいという願いも込められているそうです。

 

 

忙しい毎日の中、すこし立ち止まって本を読む時間を持ちたいものです。

It is the just present time from latter half of April to an azalea. The person who saw a poster at a library or a school may come.

It is about 1959 that Book Week of the child began. There is thinking to want children to know the pleasure to read a book,

Not only the child but also the wish that an adult wants you to think about reading of the child once again seems to be loaded with.

 

In busy every day, I want to have time to stop a little, and to read a book.
