昨日今日と朝は思いの外冷え込みましたが、晴れて爽やかなお天気です。出勤の途中、山崎川で鯉のぼりが気持ち良さそうに泳いでおりましたよ。

 

 

さてさて、風薫る５月がお誕生日の方、誕生石はエメラルドですね。

”幸福を招く石”、”神秘のヒーリングストーン”として知られるエメラルド。和名は翠玉、緑玉。結婚55周年の結婚記念石でもあります。

神秘的かつ透明感溢れる緑の輝きで、古くから人々に愛されてきた宝石は、人を健康に導く力があると信じられていたとか。

一度は憧れた女性も多いのでは？

幼い子が描くお姫さまには、緑色をした首飾りを描いてみたりと、謎を秘めているかのような色には自然と引き込まれているのでしょうか。

 

その謎のパワー、なぜ魅了されるのか…。

絶世の美女と謳われる古代エジプトの女王クレオパトラもエメラルドを愛用していたことは有名です。
エメラルドジュエリーで着飾るだけではなく、粉末にしたエメラルドをアイシャドウにして化粧にも使用していました。
美しいグリーンの魅力に取りつかれたクレオパトラのエメラルド愛は、自身の名を付けたエメラルド鉱山「クレオパトラ鉱山」を所有していたほど。 この鉱山は、1818年にフランス人によって発見され実在が証明されています。
一説では、クレオパトラは実は美女では無かったという話もあります。 もしかしたら、エメラルドの力で魅力をアップさせ、男性を虜にしていったのかもしれません。

 

そしてエメラルドは、富と権力の象徴でもあったとされ、世界４大宝石にも数えられています。

ローマ帝国時代の「博物誌」（博物学者・プリニウス著）では、ダイヤと真珠に次ぐ、第三の宝石とされているとも…

実際、ポンペイなどのローマ帝国時代の遺跡からはエメラルド製品がよく出土しているそうです。

 

 

自分の誕生石を身につけた方がいいのかと勝手に思っていましたが、カラーストーンのジュエリーは、その生まれ月でなくても、直感で惹かれたものに気持ちを託すことができるそう。

若々しいエネルギーを宿すエメラルドは、心身のバランスを安定させ、ストレスを取り除くヒーリング効果の高い石として伝えられてきたとのこと。

It was unexpectedly cold in the morning yesterday and today, but the weather is sunny and refreshing. On my way to work, I saw carp streamers swimming along the Yamazaki River.

Now, for those of you whose birthdays fall in the breezy month of May, your birthstone is an emerald.
Emerald is known as a “stone that brings happiness” and a “mysterious healing stone. Its Japanese name is Sui-yoku (green jade) or Midori-yoku (green jade). It is also the wedding anniversary stone of our 55th wedding anniversary.

People have long loved this gemstone for its mysterious and transparent green glow, and it was believed to have the power to lead people to good health.
Many women may have admired them at one time or another.
Are they naturally drawn to the color that seems to hold mystery, as when a young child draws a green-colored necklace for a princess?

What is its mysterious power, and why are we attracted to it…?
It is well known that Cleopatra, the queen of ancient Egypt, who was claimed to be an immensely beautiful woman, was also a fan of emeralds.
Not only did she dress herself in emerald jewelry, but she also used powdered emeralds as eye shadow and for makeup.
Obsessed with the beautiful green color, Cleopatra’s love of emeralds was so great that she even owned an emerald mine named after herself, the “Cleopatra Mine. This mine was discovered by the French in 1818 and proved to exist.
One theory is that Cleopatra was not actually a beautiful woman. Perhaps the power of emeralds may have increased her attractiveness and made men fall in love with her.

Emeralds are also said to have been a symbol of wealth and power, and are one of the four most precious stones in the world.
In the “Natural History” of the Roman Empire (written by Pliny the Elder, a naturalist), emeralds are considered the third most precious stone after diamonds and pearls….
In fact, emerald products are often excavated from Roman ruins such as Pompeii.
