台風14号の日本縦断の予報が先日から流れておりますが、９月は本当に台風が多く天気予報とにらめっこしながらの行動に幾分疲れてまいりましたが、皆さまの地域はいかがでしょうか。私も毎度のことながら、空振りで終わってくれることを願って家の周りのチェックをしておりますが、こればかりはわかりませんので、なんとかならないかと願うばかりでございます。

 

さて先日ですが、そんな台風の心配の合間をぬって八ヶ岳へ行って参りました。

これまた個人的なお話でございますが、結論から申し上げますと、願いごとが叶ったんですよ泣。

 

この願いごと、思い返せば２年越してありました。この状況下で行動制限の一番厳しかった頃だったと思うのですが様々な規制の中、なにやら思いついたのが、「やりたいことリスト」。

 

制限が解除されたらやってみたいこと行ってみたいことをただつらつらとブログに綴ったりしておりました。人間て、思うようにならなくなると別の感覚が研ぎ澄まされるのでしょうか、その頃は妄想力や想像力がやたらと冴えていたような気がいたします。

 

そんな２年ほど前の「やりたいことリスト」の中の一つが、ジャズアーティストbohemianvoodooのLIVEでありました。いつか行きたいと日々チェックはしておりましたが、半ばあきらめて忘れかけていたというかすっかり忘れていたという方が正解か、そのボヘ（皆さん“ボヘ”と呼ぶようです）の木村イオリ(Pf)と森田晃平(Ba)によるデュオが、八ヶ岳高原音楽堂に来るという情報を何故か得ました。いつか訪れてみたかった八ヶ岳高原音楽堂でのLIVEとのことで、「行く」と早速チケットを入手。

 

 

 

 

幸い先日は台風の合間でしてお天気は安定しておりまして、名古屋から４時間車を走らせました。

会場になっております八ヶ岳高原音楽堂は、八ヶ岳の森の中にある木製のホールでして、ステージのバックはガラス窓越しに八ヶ岳の穏やかな緑と空とそして風であります。

 

こちらの音楽堂は、音響が大変素晴らしいと、そしてなによりもこの八ヶ岳の風景と共に音楽を聴けるという贅沢な環境ということで、世界的に有名な音楽家も多々訪れているようです。いつか訪れてみたいホールであったのですが、こんな形でこちらも願いが叶うとは。このような素敵なホールで音楽を聴くことも初めてですので、期待も高まります。

 

 

 

 

今回は、ピアノとコントラバスの２つの楽器のみのLIVEでありまたが、二人の研ぎ澄まされたセッションが始まると、八ヶ岳の風景と共に空間は一気にピアノとコントラバスの対話に包まれ、感動ですよ。

このような贅沢な音と風景の融合の空間にいるこの感触を記憶にしっかりとどめようようと、今思い返すと何やら集中していたような気がいたしまして、もっとリラックスして楽しめばよかったなと、ちょっと思ったりも致しましたが、まあよい。

 

森田氏も「このようなところで音楽を聴ける皆さんは、音楽への意識高いです笑。」と、冗談交じりでいっておりましたが、はるばる高原まで遠出をして聴きにきた私も意識高いのか笑。そんなふうに会話を交えながらLIVEは、あっという間でありました。

 

 

 

 

初めて訪れた八ヶ岳高原音楽堂でのLIVE、客席からの風景は空と木々そして揺れる風を背景に、ピアノとコントラバスの二人の姿とその音がとても美しい絵画のように見え、２年越しの願いということも相まって、本当に来てよかったと心から思えました。そして私には忘れられない風景となりました。

 

ここ数年の時間の流れ方に、皆さまも様々な思いもおありだったでしょうが、随分忘れたころに「あれっ？そういえば…」という形で叶っていることもあるようですので、一旦忘れて待つのもありなのでしょうか。まだかなと思われる願いごとをお待ちの皆様も、一旦忘れて今しばらくお待ちください。時が連れてきてくれることもあるようです。

The forecast of Typhoon No. 14 crossing Japan has been circulating since the other day, and there are so many typhoons in September that we have to keep a close eye on the weather forecast. How is it in your area? I am also checking around my house hoping that the typhoon will end in nothing, but you never know, so please be careful.

 

The other day, I took a break from worrying about the typhoon to go to Yatsugatake.

This is a personal story, but as it turns out, my wish came true.

This wish had been granted over the past two years. I think it was the time when the restrictions on my activities were the most severe under the circumstances, but among the various restrictions, I came up with the idea of a “wish list.

 

I just kept listing things I wanted to do and places I wanted to visit once the restrictions were lifted, but I think people sharpen their other senses when things don’t go the way they want.

 

One of the things on my “to-do list” about two years ago was a live performance by jazz artist “bohemianvoodoo. I had been checking the website daily hoping to go someday, but I had almost given up and forgotten about it, or perhaps it would be more correct to say that I had completely forgotten about it. Somehow I got information that the duo of Iori Kimura (Pf) and Kohei Morita (Ba) of Bohe (as everyone seems to call them) would be coming to Yatsugatake Kogen Ongakudo. I had always wanted to visit Yatsugatake Kogen Ongakudo, so I said, “I’ll be there,” and got a ticket right away.

 

Fortunately, the weather was stable between typhoons, and I drove 4 hours from Nagoya.

The venue, Yatsugatake Kogen Ongakudo, is a wooden hall in the Yatsugatake forest. The stage is backed by the calm green of the Yatsugatake Mountains, the sky, and the wind through the glass windows. The hall’s acoustics are excellent, and above all, it is a luxurious place to listen to music with the scenery of the Yatsugatake Mountains, and many world-famous musicians have visited. I had hoped to visit this hall someday, but I never thought that my wish would come true in this way. It was my first time to listen to music in such a beautiful hall, so my expectations were high.

 

This time, only two instruments, piano and contrabass, were playing live, and when their well-honed session started, the space was at once enveloped in a dialogue between the piano and the contrabass, along with the scenery of Yatsugatake, which was very moving.

Looking back on it now, I feel that I was concentrating too much on trying to remember the feeling of being in such a luxurious space where sound and scenery were fused together, and I wish I had relaxed a bit more to enjoy it, but that’s OK.

 

Mr. Morita jokingly said, “People who can listen to music in a place like this are very conscious about music. I guess I am too, since I traveled all the way to the highlands to listen to the music,” he jokingly said. The live performance went by in a flash as we talked like that.

 

The view from the audience looked like a beautiful painting with the sky, trees, and swaying wind in the background, and the sounds of the piano and double bass players.

 

I am sure you must have had various feelings about the way time has passed over the past few years, but I am sure that when you have long forgotten about it, you will say to yourself, “Oh, what a surprise! I wonder if it is possible to wait and forget about it for a while. For those of you who are still waiting for your wishes to come true, please forget about them and wait for a while. It seems that time will bring them to you.
