ここ名古屋、本日はどんよりしたお天気。午後から雨の知らせも。もしかしから、梅雨入りの発表があるかもしれませんね。

よって、本日は店舗からのつぶやきを。

先日から、ここ古美術風光舎名古屋店に鎮座しておりますこちらの明時代（中国）の仏像。

大きさは、高さ34㎝、幅19㎝、奥行き14㎝。蓮の台座に鎮座し、スンと穏やかな笑みを浮かべているかのようにみえますね。と、真っ白な気持ちで鑑賞しますとこんな感じ。

昔から仏像なども好きでいろいろ鑑賞をしてまいりましたが、やはりまず目につきますのがそのポーズ。いかんいかん佇まいと申しましょう笑。その佇まいも気にはなりますが、気になりますよね、あのハンドサイン。

ハンドサイン、正式にはこの手の形を「印相（いんそう）」または「手印(しゅいん)」とお呼びするのですが、皆さまの記憶をたどってみても、そういえば、座禅の際の手で作った輪っかを前で合わせていたり、左手と右手を上げたり下げたり指の形も様々だったり…と、それぞれちょっとずつちがうな…といった記憶はないでしょうか。それらの記憶の仏さまのポーズ、実はそれぞれ意味が違いますし、特に手の形にはちゃんと意味があるようですよ。

たとえば、古美術風光舎名古屋店に鎮座しております仏像について。

調べてみますと、こちらの仏像のポーズは、右手は「刀印」と、いうポーズでしょうか。「只今、説法中です」の意味なのですが、意味など知らないと、「ピースサインって、昔からあったんだ笑」なんて小学生みたいなことをつぶやいてしまいそうになります。これは、仏が皆の者に尊い説法をしている様子でございます。ピースなどしておりません。このポーズは日本で言いますと飛鳥時代の仏像に多いとのこと。

そんな「只今、説法中です」と意味をインプットしますと、不思議なことにそういえば何やら人々に説法しているような風景が見えてくるのですよ。そう、その指の形で、仏像がどんな存在（どんな状態）なのかがわかってくるのです。不思議。

そのほかに、印相は印には基本的な五種類の形があり、釈迦がよくしていたしぐさを5つに分類した「釈迦の五印」がございますので、ご興味のございます方は調べ学習をいたしまして、さりげなくさも知っていたかのようにご同行の友人やご家族に自慢してみてください。

そういわれてみたら…と、ちょっと気にしてみるだけでも、拝む気持ちに変化が出てくるような気がいたしますよ。

From the other day, this Ming dynasty (China) Buddha statue has been enshrined here in the antique art Fukosha Nagoya store.

The size is 34 cm in height, 19 cm in width, and 14 cm in depth. It looks like you’re sitting on a lotus pedestal and smiling gently. And, when you watch it with a pure white feeling, it looks like this.

I’ve always liked Buddhist statues and have been watching them in various ways, but the first thing I notice is the pose. Let’s call it the appearance lol. I’m curious about its appearance, but I’m curious about that hand sign.

The hand sign, officially, this shape of the hand is called “Mudra” or “Shuin”, but even if you trace your memory, it comes to the time of zazen. Do you remember that the rings made by hand are matched in front, the left and right hands are raised and lowered, the shapes of the fingers are various, and so on. The poses of the Buddhas in those memories have different meanings, and especially the shape of the hand seems to have a proper meaning.

For example, about the Buddha statue that is enshrined in the antique art Fukosha Nagoya store.

When I look it up, the pose of this Buddha statue is that the right hand is a “sword mark”. It means “I’m preaching right now”, but if I don’t know the meaning, I’m likely to mutter something like an elementary school student, “Peace sign has been around for a long time.” This is how the Buddha is preaching to everyone. We do not have pieces. In Japan, this pose is often found in Buddhist statues during the Asuka period.

If you input the meaning of “I’m preaching right now”, strangely speaking, you can see the scenery of preaching to people. Yes, the shape of the finger makes it possible to understand what kind of existence (state) the Buddha image is. wonder.

In addition, there are five basic types of seals for the seal, and there is the “Five seals of Buddha”, which classifies the gestures that Buddha has done well into five, so if you are interested, check it out. Learn and brag to your friends and family as if you knew casually.
