そういえばふと気が付くと、通りすがるお宅の脇に様々な色の紫陽花が。すっかり辺りは６月の風景となっておりますね。紫陽花を好きになったのはいつからなのか、この時期になりますと紫陽花が目に留まってしかたがありません。

 

品種改良によりその種類が増えたこともあり、気になって紫陽花園やホームセンターではくまなくチェックしてみたりするのですが。土や環境にもよるのでしょうか、同じ品種でも少しずつ違っていたりしておりと、そのバラエティの多さに今年も目が離せませんね。

実は先週も、とある紫陽花園に立ち寄って参りました。

 

そんな紫陽花、私はお宅の軒先の風景に佇む姿が、一番似合うなと個人的には思っておりますが。

 

普段は地味にお宅の脇などに静かに忘れたように植わっているのに、この時期になると急に軒先に立派なそして色とりどりの花を一斉に咲かせ、梅雨時期の薄暗いじめっとしたお宅の脇の空間を奥ゆかしくも美しく華やかに咲く姿が、おうちとセットでこれまた良い風景。

 

そんな紫陽花の咲いているその場面をさりげなく見せていただき、ひとり楽しむのですが、これは傍からから見ると完全に怪しい人ですので、あくまでもさらりと通り過ぎるようにはしております…。

ところで、先日もう一つ６月の風景が。和菓子店に、「水無月」が並んでおりましたよ。

 

せっかくですので、購入。

 

 

 

この水無月というお菓子、ご存知の方もおいででしょうが、三角形に切った白いういろうに、炊いた小豆をのせたいたってシンプルな和菓子。その乳白色がなんとも優しくそして清々しい、はたまたあんことの絶妙コンビ。

 

平安時代の宮中にて、西賀茂地区の氷室に保存していた氷を食べる「氷室の節会」という暑気払いの風習が行われ、そんな本格的な夏を前に涼をとる風雅な行事にちなんで、氷の形を模した水無月をいただいたことが始まり。

 

現在では、神社の「夏越の祓」の時期に、邪気払い、無病息災、家内安全を願って、水無月をいただいております。

 

先日の私、六月は憂鬱とほざいてばかりでおりました。ですが、こうして探してみますと、紫陽花といい水無月といい、「六月のいいもの」を探しておりますと、なんとも鬱陶しいイメージは、それらの色彩、食感、風景よってスーッと流れていきます。

まだまだ、「六月はいいな」と、私を思わせてくれるいいものが、他にあるかもしれませんので、今月はもう少し探してみることにしましょう。

 

と、その前に邪気払い、無病息災、商売繁盛を願って、購入いたしました「水無月」を、わたくしが代表していただくことと致しましす笑。

Normally, it is planted quietly on the side of the house as if it was forgotten, but at this time of year, splendid and colorful flowers suddenly bloom all at once on the eaves, and the dim and damp season of the rainy season. The appearance of blooming in a beautiful and gorgeous space beside the house is also a nice view with the house.

I bought it because it was a big deal.

In the palace of the Heian period, when a hot air-removing custom called “Himuro no Sekkai” was held to eat the ice stored in the ice house in the Nishigamo district, it was named after a graceful event to cool off before the full-scale summer. The other day, in June, I was just laughing with melancholy. Yeah. There may be other good things that remind me that “June is good”, so let’s look for a little more this month.
