古美術風光舎名古屋店のあります名古屋市では、先日から10月らしからぬ30度越えの日々でありました。私の車焼けはおさまる気配はなく、日差しにも少々まいっておりました。ですが、今朝は先日の雨が残っており、雨交じりの曇りのお天気。いつもならどことなく鬱屈とし気分になるのですが、久しぶりの涼しい感覚とあのぎらぎらした日差しから逃れられた安堵で、少しほっとしながらパソコンに向かっております。

 

ありがたいことに、ここ最近少し行動が自由になり、気をつけながらでありますが、以前からしたためておりました「やりたいことリスト」をささやかながら実現させております。

そのなかでも、まず実現できたのが美術館巡り。昨今の状況下で、夢ばかりが暴走していたのでしょうか、久しぶりの美術館に訪れると、ささやかな夢が叶った嬉しさがこみ上げ、頬が緩みます。

 

行動規制のかかった期間ではありましたが、今思いますと、いろいろな美術館や美術のことなどを調べたりする後学の期間となり、知識の貯金ができた時間だったなと振り返って思ったりも致します。

 

ここ最近のスタッフY調べでは、美術館や博物館、図書館などの施設は様々な工夫や方向性、そして形や名前にとらわれない存在としての試みがどこも面白く、ますます目が離せないなと、特に気づかされました。

 

先日、上京した際に訪れた東洋文庫もそうでした。

こちらを知るきっかけはなんとInstagram。その理由は後で述べるとして、

この東洋文庫、由緒正しいい東洋学の研究図書館であります。三菱第三代当主岩崎久彌氏が1924年に設立した、東洋学分野での日本最古・最大の研究図書館であり、世界5大東洋学研究図書館の一つに数えられております。その蔵書数は国宝5点、重要文化財7点を含む約100万冊であり、内訳は、漢籍40％、洋書30％、和書20％、他アジア言語（韓・越・梵・イラン・トルコ・アラビア語等）10％と、その蔵書数は圧巻。

 

職員は研究員も含め約80名で、2つの超域研究、10の研究班をもち、歴史・文化研究および資料研究を行っております。又、人間文化研究機構との共同研究組織2つ、文部科学省からの受託事業、更には、フランス国立極東学院、ハーバード・エンチン研究所・同図書館、台湾の中央研究院、EUの東洋学研究コンソーシアム、ロンドン大学アジア・アフリカ研究学院校（SOAS）図書館、ベトナム漢喃研究院と協力協定を締結しており、その研究成果は学報等の刊行物で発表し、一般向けに東洋学講座等の講演会なども行っております。

図書館は閉架式の閲覧室を設け、貸し出しは致しておりませんが、一般に無料で閲覧もできるようです。又、データベース化にも力を入れており、書誌データはインターネット検索ができ、順次貴重本・絵画等の全文データ・画像データ・動画データ等をインターネットで公開致していております。

 

話は戻りますが、こちらをなぜInstagramで知ったかのと申しますと、図書館と併設しております東洋文庫ミュージアムが2011年10月に東京都文京区駒込にオープンしていており、そちらのミュージアムの写真をInstagramで発見したというわけです。が、いけませんね、また形から入ってしまいました。

 

こちらのミュージアム、多くの方に東洋学への興味を持ってもらうことがミュージアム開設の目的のようでして、開設までの経緯を更に遡ると、もちろんその母体は、三菱第三代当主の岩崎久彌が1924年に設立した日本最古の東洋学研究図書館である「東洋文庫」の存在。

皆さまご存じ、当時の日本てこんな感じたぶん…

北海道まだのっていませんの図です。

 

その中でも東洋文庫の創設者である岩崎久彌が、3万5千ポンドという高額で、モリソンから購入した約2万4千点からなる貴重な洋書・絵画資料のコレクションである「モリソン書庫」は圧巻です。モリソンは、ジャーナリストでもあり、冒険家でもあり、医者でもあり、中華民国総統府の政治顧問でもあった人物であり、その収集は多岐にわたっております。そこまでお金持ちではなかったそうですが、コレクター気質があり、時には借金をしながらも膨大な数の本を集めていたとのこと。自宅には、プライベート図書館もあったそうで、それを東洋文庫ミュージアムにて再現、展示。それが「モリソン書庫」であります。

 

その「モリソン書庫」や「ムセイオンの泉」など訪れた人をうならせる展示がさまざまあり、しかも展示物は撮影OKという太っ腹ぶり。それもあり、今や知る人ぞ知る資料館、東洋文庫ミュージアムとなっております。

 

 

そんなモリソンが特に力を入れて集めていたのが、
黄金の国ジパングでお馴染み、マルコ・ポーロの 『東方見聞録』らしいのですが 。初めて知ったのですが、出版年や発売された国は様々でして、実に54種類。その様々に翻訳された 『東方見聞録』 をコレクションしていたそうです。そのおかげで日本は世界に黄金の国ジパングとして憧れの国として知れ渡るのですが、東方見聞録は、印刷技術などの歴史としても意味の深い本のよううです。そちらも気になりますね。

『東方見聞録』のコレクションは今回は展示されておりませんが、展示された際にはいつか、各国の『東方見聞録』を見比べに必ずや再訪したいと思っております。

 

とまあ、東洋文庫ミュージアムはInstagramで知ることになったわけですが、それは内部はもちろんのこと外装も美しさに定評があるのも要因の一つ。設計は三菱地所設計が担当、2013年度グッドデザイン賞を受賞している建物であり、美術館カフェも併設しております。さらに撮影自由とのこと。私もインスタ映えを狙って頑張って参りましたが、写真の出来はそれなりでして笑、どうぞお察し下さい。

Among them, the first thing I was able to achieve was visiting museums. Perhaps all the dreams were out of control under the current circumstances, and when I visited the museum for the first time in a long time, the joy of realizing a small dream came up and my cheeks became loose.

It was a period of behavioral restrictions, but when I think about it now, it was a period of post-school studying various museums and art, and I thought that it was a time when I was able to save knowledge. increase.

According to a recent Yamada survey, it was especially noticed that facilities such as art museums, museums, and libraries are all interesting in their attempts to be independent of their shapes and names, and that they must keep an eye on them. I did.

The same was true of the Toyo Bunko, which I visited when I came to Tokyo the other day.

The opportunity to know this is Instagram. The reason will be explained later.

This Toyo Bunko is a historical research library of oriental studies. Founded in 1924 by Hisaya Iwasaki, the third generation of Mitsubishi, Japan’s oldest and largest research library in the field of oriental studies, and one of the five largest oriental studies research libraries in the world. The collection contains about 1 million books, including 5 national treasures and 7 important cultural properties, of which 40% are Chinese books, 30% are foreign books, 20% are Japanese books, and other Asian languages ​​(Korean, Yue, Bon, Iran, Turkey).・ Arabic, etc.) 10%, and the number of books in the collection is overwhelming.

Returning to the story, the reason why I learned about it on Instagram is that the Toyo Bunko Museum opened in October 2011 in Komagome, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, alongside that library. I found a photo of that museum on Instagram, but I can’t do it, and it came in from the shape again.

It seems that the purpose of opening this museum is to make many people interested in oriental studies, but if you go back further to the history of the opening, of course, the mother is Hisaya Iwasaki, the third owner of Mitsubishi. The existence of “Toyo Bunko”, the oldest oriental studies library in Japan, which was established in 1924.

Among them, the “Morison Library”, which is a collection of valuable foreign books and painting materials consisting of about 24,000 items purchased from Morrison by Hisaya Iwasaki, the founder of the Toyo Bunko, for a high price of 35,000 pounds is a masterpiece. is. Morrison was a journalist, an adventurer, a doctor, and a political adviser to the Presidential Office Building of the Republic of China. He said that he was collecting a huge number of books while sometimes borrowing money. It seems that there was also a private library at his home, which was reproduced and exhibited at the Toyo Bunko Museum. That is the “Morison Library”.

There are various exhibits such as the “Morrison Library Stack” and “Musaeum Fountain” that make visitors wonder, and the exhibits are so generous that you can shoot. With that in mind, it is now a museum known to those in the know, the Toyo Bunko Museum.

It seems to be Marco Polo’s “The Travels of Marco Polo”, which is familiar in the golden country Zipangu. As I learned for the first time, there are 54 different countries in which they were published and released. It seems that he was collecting the various translated “Toho Memoirs”. Thanks to that, Japan has become a world-famous and longing country as Zipangu, a golden country, but the Toho Memoirs seems to be a book with a deep meaning in the history of printing technology. I’m also curious about that.

It is not on display this time, but when it is on display, I would like to see the “Toho Memoirs” of each country someday.

Well, I got to know this Toyo Bunko Museum on Instagram, but that is also because the exterior as well as the interior has a reputation for beauty. Designed by Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei, the building has won the 2013 Good Design Award and also has a museum cafe. Furthermore, it is said that shooting is free.
