聖火リレーが各都道府県に到着と連日ニュースになっていますね。

ここ愛知県もいよいよ聖火リレーが昨日、一昨日と到着いたしました。

 

 

愛知県瀬戸市からスタートし、名古屋市や愛知県内の市町村を経由し、豊田市へ。

ランナーの皆さまお疲れ様。本当に良い笑顔をされて走っていましたよね。次の方へとトーチを渡す際に、トーチの受け渡しと共に、みなさまの笑顔も受け渡っていたのが印象的でした。大勢の方がなかなか近くで応援とはいかない中、私も映像を通してですが、応援いたしました。

 

 

 

好奇心がいつも取っ散らかっているのでとりあえず見ておこうと、一昨年日本オリンピックミュージアムにてトーチを見にいってきました。今となっては、悲しいかな随分と遠い記憶です。

ですが、印象は日本の細かな技術、ていねいなものづくりの精神を本当に反映しているトーチです。実に、繊細な作りだなと、素人の私でも分かりました。

 

デザイナーは「ガラスの茶室」などで知られる吉岡徳仁さんです。

今回のトーチは高さ71センチ、重さ約1.2キロ。上から見るとトーチの上部は桜の花びらのように5つに分かれており、5つの部分から上がった炎が頂点部分でひとつなるというデザイン。まさに、炎をデザインしたとのこと。聖火ランナー1人ずつに配布され（みなさん、いただけるんですね）予備を含めると1万本以上が製造される予定。

 

吉岡さんは今回のトーチに対して、

炎のかたちをデザインしました。この光り輝くトーチは、桜型の多面体の造形により太陽の光を反射し、聖火ランナーに輝きを与えるようにデザインされています。ランナーは常に動きますから、トーチはそのたびにきらきらと光を放ち、見ている人にも光を与える。そのシーンを思い浮かべながらデザインしました。

デザインのきっかけは、被災地の子どもたちとみんなで、桜のエンブレムを描いたことで、子どもたちが描いた力強い桜の絵のように、被災地の方々が苦悩を乗り越え、立ち上がる姿を世界の人々に伝えたい。その想いでデザインをさせていただきましました。とのこと。

 

材料もまた東日本大震災の復興仮設住宅にアルミサッシを提供していた企業が、役割を終えた仮設住宅の解体が始まっていたので、そのアルミニウムを使えるかもしれないということで、それは素晴らしいと、再利用。ここにも、吉岡さんのメッセージが込められていますね。

 

 

当時制作された頃には、吉岡さんもきっとこの状況を知る由もなかったでしょう。

状況はかわってしまいましたが、気持ちは一緒ですよね。何度でも立ち上がる希望を象徴する炎として、日本の桜の開花と共に、この桜のトーチがそれを手にして走るランナーさんにより、たくさんの方々へむけて、日本全国駆け巡ってほしいものです。

私も、走ろうかなぁ。

Thank you to all the runners. You were running with a really nice smile. When I handed over the torch to the next person, it was impressive that everyone smiled along with the handing over of the torch. While many people weren’t very close to cheering, I also cheered through the video.

 

My curiosity is messed up, so I went to see the torch at the Japan Olympic Museum two years ago to see it for the time being, but alas, it’s a long memory.

However, the impression is a torch that reflects Japan’s detailed technology and the spirit of careful manufacturing. As an amateur, I realized that it was really delicate.

 

The designer is Tokujin Yoshioka, who is known for his “Glass Tea Room”.

The torch this time is 71 cm high and weighs about 1.2 kg. When viewed from above, the upper part of the torch is divided into five parts like cherry blossom petals, and the flame that rises from the five parts becomes one at the top. He said he designed the flame. It will be distributed to each torchbearer (everyone can get it), and if you include the spare, more than 10,000 will be manufactured.

I designed the shape of the flame. This brilliant torch is designed to reflect the sun’s rays and give the torchbearer a shine by shaping a cherry-shaped polyhedron. Since the runners are constantly moving, the torch shines brightly each time, giving light to the viewer. I designed it with that scene in mind.

The reason for the design was to draw the cherry blossom emblem together with the children in the disaster area, and to show the people of the world how the people in the disaster area overcome their distress and stand up like the powerful picture of cherry blossoms drawn by the children. I want to tell. I designed it with that in mind. And that. As for the material, the company that provided aluminum sashes for the reconstruction temporary housing after the Great East Japan Earthquake has begun to dismantle the temporary housing that has finished its role, so it may be possible to use that aluminum, which is wonderful. I reused it. And that.

 

By the time it was produced at that time, Mr. Yoshioka probably had no way of knowing this situation. The situation has changed, but the feelings are the same. As a flame that symbolizes the hope of rising up many times, I hope that the runners who run with this torch of cherry blossoms in their hands will run around all over Japan with the blooming of Japanese cherry blossoms. I wonder if I should run too.
