スタッフYでございます。

 

店舗ブログ始めてはや数年、こんな日が来るとは。本日は最初から画像をお届けいたしましたが、そう、みんな知ってるポケモン。ポケモンについて呟くのは初めてですね。

 

そんなポケモンですが、ポケモンと伝統工芸が、正面切って出会わせたとしたらどんな 化学反応 ？マリアージュ？コラボ？新旧融合？が、起きるだろう。と、いう問いに人間国宝から若手まで 20 名のアーティストが本気で挑んだというおもしろい展覧会「ポケモン×工芸展―美とわざの大発見―」が、今月の１１日まで石川県金沢市の国立工芸館で行われておりました。

 

かなりの大盛況だったようでして、先月の半ばにはなんと来場者5万人を突破。それを記念してのセレモニーと新たなポケモンマンホール『ポケふた』がお披露目されたり、国立工芸館長・唐澤昌宏氏と着物姿のピカチュウが登壇したりと、それはそれはすごかったようでございます。

 

そんな話を聞いてはいたのですが、残念ながら都合がつかず訪れることができず。そのかわりに参戦した親族にその様子を知らせてほしいとお願いしておりました。訪れた親族によると、「期待以上ですごかった。」「是非実際に目で見て鑑賞してほしい。」との、大絶賛のコメントが返ってきまして、今頃になってさらに後悔が増している今日ではございます。

ですが、そんな私のように「行きたかったな。」と、残念がる皆さま。

 

安心してください笑。

なんと、館内は写真可だったということで、画像をたくさん送っていただきました。

本日はそんな皆様と一緒に、ピカチュウと伝統工芸の化学反応の世界をのぞいてみましょう。

 

当日。平日の開館前もかかわらず、既に入場待ちの方の列ができていたそうでして。（写真は人のいないところで撮っております。）こちらの建物は、明治後期に建てられ、1997年に国の登録有形文化財に登録された木造の旧陸軍施設「旧陸軍第九師団司令部庁舎」（明治31（1898）年建造、元は司令部執務室）と「旧陸軍金沢偕行社」（明治42（1909）年、元は将校の社交場）を移築・活用したもの。鮮やかなグリーンの柱の色彩が映えますね。

ほんの一部ではありましたが、訪れた気分になってきましたでしょうか。

 

様々な作者によるポケモンコラボの作品、一見意外な組み合わせですが、案外この二者、共通項が少なくないようにも思えます。例えば、工芸の原材料や製造工程のエネルギーを挙げてみれば土や草や金属や、水に炎に電気など、そのままポケモンのタイプと少し似ていたり。そんな楽しみ方もあるのですが、ポケモン大好き子供たちもいつもと違ったポケモンにテンション上がりますし、なによりもその作品の素晴らしさや細かい技術に引き込まれていくそうです。老若男女楽しみ方もいろいろのようで、これも大盛況の所以でしょうか。

 

それにしても、当初子供のアニメ、カードゲームなどから人気に火が付いたポケモンですが、今やレアカードなどが高額で取引され、大人の投資目的の資産として注目される時代に突入し、当初のポケモンを思い起こしますと、「ポケモンの未来、どこへ向かっていくんだ…。」と、黄色いピカチュウを眺めながら思ったりも。

 

ですが今回の伝統工芸とのコラボ、これまでの日本の伝統技術の未来と共に、ピカチュウたちが我々が生きた時代のその先の未来まで、伝承してほしいものも運んでいってくれそうな嬉しい予感と期待が写真からも湧いてくるようでもありました。

ポケモン、いろいろ未来はたのんだぞ。

It’s been a few years since I started blogging about our store, and I never thought this day would come. Today, we brought you a picture from the beginning, yes, we all know Pokemon. This is the first time for me to write about Pokemon.

 

But what kind of chemical reaction would occur if Pokémon and traditional crafts met head-on? A marriage? Collaboration? Fusion of old and new? What kind of chemical reaction would occur? This interesting exhibition, “Pokemon x Crafts: Discovering Beauty and Craftsmanship,” was held at the National Crafts Museum in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, until the 11th of this month.

 

The exhibition was a great success, and by the middle of last month, the number of visitors exceeded 50,000. There was a ceremony to commemorate the event, the unveiling of a new Pokemon manhole “Poke-lid,” and Pikachu in a kimono with Masahiro Karasawa, Director of the National Crafts Museum, on the stage.

 

I had heard about it, but unfortunately I could not make it to the event. Instead, I asked my relatives who participated in the event to let me know how it went. According to one of my relatives who visited, “It was amazing, beyond my expectations. I would like you to see it with your own eyes and appreciate it.” I am now feeling more regretful than ever, but I wish I could have gone. I wish I could have gone.

 

Don’t worry.

I was told that photos were allowed inside the museum, so I received a lot of pictures.

Today, let’s take a look into the world of chemical reaction between Pikachu and traditional crafts together.

 

On the day of the event. Even though it was a weekday before the museum opened, there was already a line of people waiting to enter. (The photo was taken in a place where there were no people.) This building was built in the late Meiji period (late 1868) and registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan in 1997. The wooden former army facilities, “Former Army 9th Division Headquarters Building” (built in 1898, former headquarters office) and “Former Army Kanazawa Kaiyosha” (1909, former officers’ social hall) were moved and utilized. The bright green color of the pillars is a nice touch.

At first glance, this Pokemon collaboration by various artists may seem an unexpected combination, but it seems that the two have more than a few things in common than one might think. For example, the raw materials of crafts and the energy used in the manufacturing process, such as earth, grass, metal, water, fire, and electricity, are similar to Pokémon types. Children who love Pokémon will be excited to see a different Pokémon, and above all, they will be drawn in by the excellence of the artwork and the detailed techniques. It seems that men and women of all ages can enjoy Pokémon in various ways, which is probably the reason for the great success of the event.

 

Pokémon initially became popular as a children’s cartoon and card game, but now rare cards are traded at high prices and are attracting attention as an investment asset for adults. .” I sometimes wonder where the future of Pokemon is headed…” as I look at the yellow Pikachu.

 

However, the collaboration with traditional crafts this time seems to give us a happy premonition and expectation that Pikachu will bring us things we want to pass down to the future beyond our own time, along with the future of traditional Japanese crafts. Pokémon, we look forward to many things in the future.
