今年も心温まるものを発見いたしました。

 

こちら、見覚えのある方いらっしゃいますか？約１年前の同じ時期、スタッフMのブログでもお話させていただきました。家の近所の私有地に大きなミモザの木があるのですが、今朝通勤途中に通りかかりましたら玄関先に今年も「ご自由にお持ち帰りください」の温かいメッセージと共にバケツに入った大量のミモザがございました。

美しく逞しく咲くミモザを通行人の私たちにもお裾分けしてくれる心の優しい方にいつか直接お礼させていただきたいと思います。

そんな幸せのお裾分けミモザ、今年はお店に飾らせていただきました。

さて、本日は「行って来ました。岡本太郎展〈第二弾〉」といたしまして、前回の続きから・・・

太郎は日本に戻ってから様々なことに挑戦しながら日本の芸術家では類を見ない「多面体」であったというところまでお話させていただきました。

１９７０年、高度経済成長に湧く日本で万博が開かれ、”先進国クラブ”への入会がかかった一世一代の国家プロジェクトのプロデューサーに選ばれました。

高さ７０ｍの巨大なモニュメント「太陽の塔」を会場中央に突き立て、強烈かつ異様な光景は日本人の脳裏に強烈に刷り込まれ、日本の芸術作品の中で最大・最強のアイコンになりました。大阪万博は６４００万人の入場者を集めたが、これは万博史上の最高記録で今も破られていないそうです。

 

太陽の塔は大阪万博のシンボルとなって日本人の脳裏に深く刻まれ、当時を生きた日本人で岡本太郎を知らない人はいませんよね。大衆に愛された太郎はその後も全国で数々のパブリックアートを手掛け、１９７５年には撤去されるはずだった太陽の塔の永久保存が決まりました。

 

１９９６年、岡本太郎は８４年の生涯を閉じ、１９９８年岡本太郎記念館が、１９９９年には出身地の川崎市に岡本太郎美術館が開館し、絶版本の復活と併せて関連書籍も次々と刊行されました。

 

今回の展示会でも感じましたが、大阪万博を歴史で学んだであろう若者たちが多く来場していました。岡本太郎の強烈な作品や言葉が、目の前に立ちはだかる閉塞感を切り裂き、「元気をもらった」、「壁にぶつかったらまた来たい」などと語られているそうです。実際に私も展示された数々の言葉にたくさん元気をもらえました。

There is a large mimosa tree on a private property near my house, and when I passed by it on my way to work this morning, there was a large amount of mimosa in a bucket with a warm message of “Please feel free to take it home.”

Someday, I would like to express my gratitude directly to the kind-hearted people who share the mimosas that bloom beautifully and vigorously with us passers-by. Such a happy mimosa, this year I was able to decorate the store.

After returning to Japan, Taro challenged various things, and I was able to tell you that he was a “polyhedron” that was unparalleled among Japanese artists. In 1970, an international exposition was held in Japan, which was experiencing rapid economic growth.

 

The 70m-tall “Tower of the Sun”, a gigantic monument standing in the center of the venue, was imprinted strongly in the minds of the Japanese people with its intense and bizarre spectacle, becoming the biggest and strongest icon among Japanese works of art. rice field.

The Osaka Expo attracted 64 million visitors, which is said to be the highest record in the history of the Expo and has yet to be broken. The Tower of the Sun became a symbol of the Osaka Expo and was deeply engraved in the minds of Japanese people. Taro, who was loved by the public, continued to work on numerous public art projects throughout the country, and in 1975, it was decided that the Tower of the Sun, which was supposed to be demolished, would be permanently preserved.

 

In 1996, Taro Okamoto passed away at the age of 84. In 1998, the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum opened, and in 1999, the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art opened in his hometown of Kawasaki. has been published. As I felt at this exhibition, there were many young people who probably learned about the history of the Osaka Expo. It is said that Taro Okamoto’s powerful works and words cut through the sense of stagnation that stood in front of him, saying things like “I was energized” and “I want to come back when I hit a wall”.
