先日、知人に誘われバイオリンとピアノの演奏を聴きに行って参りました。

 

楽器はなんとあの有名なストラディバリウス。

 

ストラディバリウスなのか、ストラリバディウスなのかもわからなかったNですが、古澤巌さんの素敵な声で解説もあり、素敵な音色に思わず寝てしまいました。

 

 

ホールの設備がよかったのもあり、今まで聴いたことのない透き通った綺麗な音色でございました。

 

駅でたまにバイオリンの演奏をしているのを聴くくらいで、あんなにバイオリンの音をじっくり聴く機会がありませんでした。

 

素人にバイオリンがわかるか不安でしたが、チャールダーシュのあの早弾きは聴いても観ても楽しめました。

 

他にもニューシネマパラダイスなど、なんか聴いたことある曲が多くて楽しかったです。

 

 

Nのストラディバリウスのイメージというと、テレビ番組の格付けのイメージが強いです。

 

後は先日行きましたジブリパークで見た、耳をすませばのバイオリン工房でしょうか。

 

ストラディバリもあのような場所でストラディバリウスを作っていたのでしょうね。

 

 

そこでストラディバリウスについて調べてみました。

 

 

ストラディバリウス(英:Stradivarius)は、イタリアのストラディバリ父子3人（父アントニオ、子フランチェスコ、オモボノ）が製作した弦楽器のことを言います。

 

特にアントニオ・ストラディバリが17世紀～18世紀にかけて製作した弦楽器が有名です。

 

通常「ストラディバリウス」といった場合は楽器を、「ストラディバリ」といった場合は楽器製作者を指すそうです。

 

 

 

ストラディバリの製作した弦楽器には、18世紀の法令に基づきラテン語にてAntonius Stradivarius Cremonenſis（アントニウス・ストラディヴァリウス・クレモネンシス）というラベル（クレモナのアントニオ・ストラディバリ作、の意）が貼られているそうです。

 

ここから、彼の手による弦楽器は「ストラディバリウス」あるいは省略して「ストラド」と呼ばれております。

現存するストラディバリウスは、ヴァイオリンが圧倒的に多く、ついでチェロ、ヴィオラの順になっております。

 

マンドリン、ギター、ハープは極めて少数が残されているのみだとか。

 

ストラディバリウス、バイオリン以外にもあるのですね、知らなかったです。

 

単純に、「300年前の楽器が残っている」ということだけでも高い価値が認められるのですが、ストラディバリウスは作り手であるストラディバリが選定した木材、そして高度な技術が詰め込まれているという点でも高い評価を受けているでそうです。

 

また、「300年たった今でも演奏されている」ということも重要なポイントだとか。

 

 

 

楽器としての性能がストラディバリウスと同等以上のものは作れているようですが、新作に歴史的な価値を付加することができないという点で「作成できない」というのが答えのようですね。

 

何がそんなにすごいのか、専門家によると、音の飛び方が素晴らしいそうです。

 

密度の濃い音を大きなホールの最後列まで飛ばすことができ、 音の深さがあり、音楽家が出したい音を出してくれるという音楽表現力に優れているのだとか。

 

ストラディバリウスの裏板に使われているのは、カエデの仲間のなかでも美しいカーリー杢をもつ最高級のシカモア材でございます。

 

長い間、聞く人をほれぼれさせる音色の秘密はニスにあると考えられていましたが、米コロンビア大学の気象学者たちが「均一な木目が音質に影響している」という新説を発表しました。

 

希少なストラディバリウス、またどこかで出会えることを楽しみにしております。

The other day, I was invited by an acquaintance to listen to a violin and piano performance.

 

The instrument is the famous Stradivarius.

 

I didn’t even know if it was a Stradivarius or a Stralibadius, but Mr. Iwao Furusawa’s wonderful voice gave a commentary.

 

 

 

The facilities in the hall were good, and it was a clear and beautiful tone that I had never heard before.

 

I have never had the opportunity to listen to the sound of a violin so closely, except for the occasional violin performance at the station.

 

I was worried whether an amateur could understand the violin, but I enjoyed listening to and watching Chardás’ fast playing.

 

There were many other songs that I had heard before, such as New Cinema Paradise, so it was fun.

 

 

 

When it comes to the image of N’s Stradivarius, the image of TV programs is strong.

 

The other is the Violin Studio, which I saw at Ghibli Park when I went to the other day.

 

Stradivari must have made Stradivarius in a place like that.

 

 

 

So I started looking into the Stradivarius.

 

 

 

Stradivarius is a stringed instrument made by three Italian Stradivari fathers and sons (father Antonio, sons Francesco and Omobono).

 

Especially famous are the stringed instruments made by Antonio Stradivari in the 17th and 18th centuries.

 

Usually, when you say “Stradivarius” you mean the instrument, and when you say “Stradivari” you mean the maker of the instrument.

 

 

 

 

Stringed instruments made by Stradivari bear the Latin label Antonius Stradivarius Cremonenſis (Made by Antonio Stradivari of Cremona) in Latin, based on an 18th-century law.

 

Hence, his hand-made stringed instruments are called “stradivarius” or “strado” for short.

 

The overwhelming majority of existing Stradivarius are violins, followed by cellos and violas.

 

Very few mandolins, guitars and harps remain.

 

I didn’t know there were other Stradivarius instruments besides the violin.

 

The simple fact that “a 300-year-old instrument remains” is considered to be of high value, but Stradivarius is said to be packed with wood selected by the maker, Stradivari, and advanced technology. It seems that it is highly rated in terms of points.

 

Another important point is that it is still played 300 years later.

 

Currently, there are about 600 Stradivarius whose existence has been confirmed.

 

 

I was surprised that there were many more.

 

 

The highest price among existing genuine works is the 1721 Stradivarius “Lady Blunt” that was sold for $15,894,000 (approximately ¥1,274,200,000) on June 21, 2011.

 

It’s scary to touch her forehead, but it’s amazing to see her playing that instrument.

 

 

 

It seems that the performance as an instrument is equal to or better than the Stradivarius, but the answer seems to be “I can’t make it” in that it can’t add historical value to the new work.

 

What’s so amazing about it, according to experts, is how the sound flies.

 

It is said that it has excellent musical expressive power, such as being able to send dense sound to the last row of a large hall, having a deep sound, and being able to produce the sound that musicians want to produce.

 

The back plate of the Stradivarius is made of the finest sycamore wood, which has a beautiful curly heather among the maple species.

 

For a long time, it was believed that varnish was the secret to the timbre that makes listeners fall in love with it, but meteorologists at Columbia University in the United States have come up with a new theory that the uniform grain of the wood affects sound quality.

 

I am looking forward to seeing the rare Stradivarius again somewhere.
