先日、愛知県西尾市にございます、三河工芸ガラス美術館へ行って参りました。

 

Nは抹茶が大好きなので、抹茶目当てに西尾に行ったのですが、まさかのはずれを引いてしまいました。

 

Instagramで人気の抹茶のスイーツを食べに行ったのですが、なんと味がしないのです。

 

周りを見ても若い子ばかりでなんだか顔が暗い。。。

 

たまにあるのですが、インスタ映えを狙ったばかりに見た目は可愛いのに美味しくないスイーツがあるのです。

 

はずれを引かないためにも、口コミなどを見るのは大切ですね。

 

見た目に騙されて、後悔しないようにしたいです。

 

最初に行った老舗のお店はとても美味しかったです。

 

お客様も地元の年配の方ばかりでしたので、きっと好きで通い詰めているリピーターの方々なのでしょう。

 

 

さて、暇つぶしに行った三河工芸ガラス美術館ですが、入り口から行列ができておりました。

 

そんな人気だとは露知らず、並びました。

 

皆さまのお目当ては巨大万華鏡。

 

 

万華鏡と言えば、お土産屋などにある和紙の丸いものが思い浮かびます。

 

Nも小さい頃夢中になって中をのぞいて回しておりました。

 

 

その、万華鏡の中に自分が入れるという、なんともロマンチックな場所でございます。

 

この巨大万華鏡「スフィア」と言うそうで、大きさは、長さ7.3m、幅3.1m、高さ2.55m。 2002年版のギネスブックにも載った当時世界最大の万華鏡だそうです。

 

トンネル型の空間に足を踏み入れると万華鏡が動きだし、一気に別世界へトリップ致します。

 

こちらの美術館は市営ではなく、個人経営されている美術館なので、1時間程度有れば館内１周できると思います。

 

巨大万華鏡には１組ずつ入るのですが、外側にテレビがあり、中の様子がわかるので、人がいなくなったら次の組が入る仕組みになっております。

 

色々なポーズをとっているのがばれるので少し恥ずかしい気も致しますが、映え写真のために皆必死です。

 

万華鏡（まんげきょう）は、1816年にスコットランドで 物理学者のディヴィッド・ブリュースターが１８１６年に発明致しました。

 

灯台の光をより遠くまで届かせるために鏡の組み合わせを工夫している最中に発見したそうです。

 

日本でいうと江戸時代で、英語ではカレイドスコープと呼ばれており、「美しい模様を見る」という意味のギリシャ語がもとになった言葉だそうです。

 

かつては 万華鏡 （ ばんかきょう ） 、 百色眼鏡 （ ひゃくいろめがね ） 、 錦眼鏡 （ にしきめがね ） とも呼ばれました。

 

 

きれいに見える万華鏡作りのポイントは、鏡と鏡の間の角度が30度になっていることで、できるだけ30度にちかくなるようにし、ミラー同士、ミラーと無反射紙の間に隙間ができないようにすることも大事だそうです。

 

セロテープを引っ張って接着すると、鏡がゆがむので、無理に引っ張らないようにするのがコツです。

 

一般的な万華鏡の筒の長さは約１５ｃｍで、これは人間の目の焦点距離に合わせてあります。

 

筒の長さが短いものもあり、そのままだと映像がぼやけてしまいますが、のぞき穴に凸レンズが入っているためちゃんと見ることが出来るのです。

The other day, I went to the Mikawa Craft and Glass Museum in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture.

 

N loves matcha, so I went to Nishio for matcha, but I was unexpectedly disappointed.

 

I went to eat the matcha sweets that are popular on Instagram, but they have no taste.

 

When I look around, I see only young children and their faces are somewhat dark. . .

 

Occasionally, there are sweets that look cute but are not delicious because they are aimed at Instagrammable.

 

It’s important to look at reviews to avoid being disappointed.

 

I don’t want to be deceived by looks and regret it.

 

The first long-established store I went to was very delicious.

 

The customers were all local elderly people, so I’m sure they are repeaters who like it and go there.

 

By the way, I went to the Mikawa Glass Art Museum to kill time, but there was a line at the entrance.

 

I didn’t know it was so popular, so I lined up.

 

Everyone is looking for a giant kaleidoscope.

 

When you think of kaleidoscopes, the round Japanese paper you see in souvenir shops comes to mind.

 

When N was little, he was obsessed with looking inside.

 

 

 

It’s a very romantic place where you can put yourself in the kaleidoscope.

 

This gigantic kaleidoscope “Sphere” is 7.3m long, 3.1m wide and 2.55m high. It was listed in the Guinness Book of Records in 2002 as the world’s largest kaleidoscope.

 

When you step into the tunnel-shaped space, the kaleidoscope begins to move, and you will instantly be transported to another world.

 

This museum is not run by the city but is privately run, so you should be able to go around the museum in about an hour.

 

One group can enter the giant kaleidoscope, but there is a TV on the outside, so you can see what’s going on inside.

 

I feel a little embarrassed because it will be exposed that I am taking various poses, but everyone is desperate for a good photo.

 

 

The kaleidoscope was invented in Scotland in 1816 by physicist David Brewster.

 

He discovered it while devising a combination of mirrors to make the light of the lighthouse reach farther.

 

In Japan, it is the Edo period, and in English it is called kaleidoscope, and it seems that the word is based on the Greek word meaning “to see a beautiful pattern”.

 

In the past, it was also called kaleidoscope, Hyakuiro Megane, and Nishiki Megane.

 

The point of making a kaleidoscope that looks beautiful is that the angle between the mirrors is 30 degrees. It seems that it is also important to

 

The mirror will be distorted if you pull the sellotape to adhere it, so the trick is not to pull it forcibly.

 

A typical kaleidoscope tube is about 15 cm long, which matches the focal length of the human eye.
