みなさま、こんにちはスタッフYでございます。

 

古美術風光舎名古屋店がございます、名古屋市千種区は本日は朝から雪でして、わたくしも慎重運転での出勤でありました。

 

ここ名古屋、やはり関ヶ原あたりからの雪が吹き込んでくることもあり、たまにですが毎年必ず雪が降ります。北陸や東北の方からのご意見ですと、間違いなく「こんな雪ぐらいで、は？」と思われるかもしれませんが、慣れない雪ですので朝から気を使いながら、雪道を走らせて参りましたよ。

 

とはいえ、車ですので大変な思いすることはないのですが、雨や雪をしのぎながら移動ができる現代に感謝しつつ、電車や車のなかった時代の方々の道中はいかばかりかと想像をしながら、車でぬくぬくと出勤して参りました。

 

それがですね、なんと先日そんなぼんやりした疑問に答えるべくタイムリーにも、かつての道中を行く方を垣間見ることのできる企画展が開催されており、行って参りました。

 

前もってお詫び申し上げますが、わたくしの悪い癖でしてまたもや開催最終日に滑り込みまして。

よって残念ながら展示はもう終わっておりお勧めすることができませんが、大変面白かったので皆様にご報告し、少しだけ一緒に旅気分ができたらと思っております。

 

企画展　「浮世絵で旅気分」

 

 

古美術風光舎名古屋店のご近所にございます徳川美術館と併設致します蓬左文庫にて開催されておりました。ブログではよく登場いたします徳川美術館でありますが（こちらのご説明は過去ブログを参照していただくと致しまして）今回の作品は風景版画の立役者でありました歌川広重（1797～1858）の保永堂から出版いたしました、皆様ご存じの「東海道五十三次之内」や「木曾街道六拾九次之内」などが展示されておりました。

 

展示されております版画の所蔵は14歳で亡くなった尾張徳川家十三代徳川慶臧（1836～49）の副葬品からのものも展示しており、その版画は建中寺に葬られていたようでして、色彩こそ変色しておりますが、数多く保管されております。

 

とりわけ今回の展示は、わたしが最初にぼんやり疑問に思った昔の方の旅や移動の様子のアンサーがたくさん含まれており、少しですがリアルに伝わってまいりました。天候や時間帯なども様々に設定し、ひときわ旅の気分があふれた作品を多く展示しており、その表情や動きなどだれもカメラの前で“映え”など気にしてはおりませんので、いたって格好悪いのですが、これこそリアル。そんな、におわせたっぷりな当時の粋なインスタ風浮世絵版画のセンスにも恐れ入ります。風景の切り取り方が天才。それではわたくしのつたない取材にて一部ご紹介いたしましょう。

It was snowing from the morning in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, where the antique art Fukosha Nagoya store is located, and I had to drive carefully.

Snow from here in Nagoya, also from around Sekigahara, sometimes blows in, so it always snows every year. From the opinions of people from Hokuriku and Tohoku, you may be wondering, “What about this kind of snow?” I did.

However, since it is a car, I do not have a hard time, but while being grateful for the present age where I can move while avoiding rain and snow, I imagine how the roads of people in the era without trains and cars would be. However, I came to work warmly by car.

 

That’s right, the other day, in order to answer such a vague question, a special exhibition was held to give a glimpse of the people who went along the way in a timely manner, and I went there.

I apologize in advance, but due to my bad habit, I slipped in again on the last day of the event.

So unfortunately the exhibition is over and I can’t recommend it, but it was very interesting so I would like to report it to everyone and make you feel like traveling together for a while.

 

Special exhibition “Ukiyo-e makes you feel like traveling”

 

I went to the Hoza Bunko, which is located next to the Tokugawa Art Museum in the neighborhood of the antique art Fukosha Nagoya store. The Tokugawa Art Museum often appears on blogs (please refer to the past blogs for this explanation), but this work is from Hoeidou of Hiroshige Utagawa (1797-1858), who was the driving force behind landscape printing. The published “Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido” and “Kiso Kaido Rokusho Kujinouchi” were on display.

 

The prints on display include those from the burial goods of Yoshitsugu Tokugawa (1836-49), the 13th generation of the Owari Tokugawa family, who died at the age of 14, and the prints were buried in Kenchuji Temple. As you can see, the colors have changed, but many are stored.

 

In particular, this exhibition contains a lot of answers about the trips and movements of the old people that I first wondered vaguely, and it has been conveyed in a little real way. We have set various weather and time zones, and we are exhibiting a lot of works that make you feel like traveling, and no one cares about their facial expressions and movements in front of the camera. It’s awkward, but it’s real. I’m also afraid of the sense of the stylish Instagram-style ukiyo-e prints of that time. How to cut out the landscape is a genius. Let me introduce some of them in my unrelenting interview.

こちらは、広重の「東海道五十三次之内」　藤枝　人馬継立（保永堂版）名古屋市博物館蔵。

 

その一部を覗いてみますと、手前のふんどし姿の方の二人が息を合わせて荷物をそっとおろしていますね。息ぴったりに荷下ろしをしようとしている瞬間がおわかりですよね。そして、奥の役人らしき人と、台帳を持った商人が何やら役人に話をしております。役人に何か言われたのでしょうか。少し食い気味に何やら言っておりますね。また、奥の荷下ろしを終えた二人は汗を拭きつつ何やら語っております。間違いなく一仕事終わった様子。そして画面はきれましたが、左の男性は、ふんどし姿のお尻を完全に撮られていますね笑。本人全く気づいておりません。

 

それぞれに吹き出しをつけてセリフを入れ、大喜利大会でもしたくなってまいりました。

If you take a peek at a part of it, you can see that the two people in the loincloth in the foreground are breathing together and gently lowering their luggage. You can see the moment when you are about to unload your breath. And the person who seems to be the official in the back and the merchant who has the ledger are talking to the official. Did the official say anything? I’m saying something a little bit. In addition, the two who finished unloading in the back are talking about something while wiping their sweat. It definitely looks like one job is over. And although the screen was cut off, the man on the left was completely photographed with his loincloth ass lol. He is completely unaware of himself.

I added a speech bubble to each of them and put in lines, which made me want to do it at the Ogiri tournament.

 

 

 

そしてこちらは、鞠子　でのとあるお昼休憩の風景でしょうか。手前の男性、美味しそうに食べています。多分丼物ですね。隣の男性は食事が終わったのでしょうか、大きな声で茶屋の方にお茶を催促しておりますが、このお二人、きっと今夜泊まる宿の話なんかして旅を楽しんでしているのでしょう。表情が生き生きとしております。

 

お店の看板もきっと当時の方は読めるのでしょうが、わたくしには読めず。中を覗きますと、店内に今でいう写真のように版画が飾っておりますね。インテリアコーデもされているおしゃれな感じの良いお店なのでしょう笑。

 

And this is the scenery of a certain lunch break at Maruko. The man in the foreground is eating deliciously. Maybe it’s a bowl. Perhaps the man next door has finished eating, and he is urging the teahouse to make tea in a loud voice. I’m sure these two people are enjoying the trip by talking about the inn where they will stay tonight. The expression is lively. I’m sure people at that time could read the signboard of the shop, but I couldn’t. If you look inside, you can see that the store is decorated with prints like the ones we see today. I think it’s a fashionable and nice shop with interior coordination

広重「東海道五十三次之内」日本橋　朝の景

 

夕闇から空が白々と明け、ほんのり赤く染まりつつある早朝の風景ですね。橋を渡り出発し始める大名行列のご一行の横を、早朝水揚げされた魚を行商たちが忙しく運んでおります。大名行列なんて気にしちゃいないような。これがきっと当時の日常の一風景なのでしょうね。

 

とまあ、大変楽しいひと時でありました。

全く予習なしで訪れたのですが、今回の浮世絵、このように各地方のこれが日常の一風景なだと思わせる場面が多々見受けられます。旅で行きかう人々とそこで暮らす地元の人々の生活の様子を描き分けた部分が、何故か自分もその中に入り、傘に草履をはいた旅人になる錯覚に陥ったりして。そして、それが動画のように今にも動き出し、自分もしゃべっているのではないかと思わせるような、まさに旅気分の浮世絵版画でありました。

As you know, Hiroshige “Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido” Nihonbashi Morning view

It’s an early morning landscape where the sky is shining white from dusk and it’s turning slightly red. The traders are busy carrying the fish landed early in the morning next to the group of Daimyo dynasty who starts to cross the bridge. I don’t care about the daimyo procession. I’m sure this is a scene of everyday life at that time.

 

Well, it was a very fun time.

I visited without any preparation, but I can see many scenes of this Ukiyo-e that make me think that this is a daily scene in each region. For some reason, the part that depicts the life of the people who travel and the locals who live there gets into it, and I get the illusion of becoming a traveler wearing sandals on an umbrella. And it was a travel-like ukiyo-e print that started to move like a video and made me think that I was talking.
