先日京都に行った際に、喫茶店に入りました。

 

 

事前にInstagramで「＃京都カフェ」と検索して、気になるものがあるか調べていました。

一人で行くので一人でも入れそうなところがないかと調べていたら、そんなことがどうでもいいと思えるような素敵な喫茶店を発見したので寄ろうと思い、頭の中の計画にも含んでおきました。

 

その喫茶店とは、京都下京区にある「喫茶ソワレ」です。

１９４８年（昭和２３年）に開店して現在も続いている古き良き喫茶店です。

店名のソワレとはフランス語で「夜会」「素敵な夜」という意味だそうです。驚くことに店内は青色照明なのですが、それがまた「夜会」や「素敵な夜」という意味とマッチしていていいなと思います。

そして店内の青色照明は、創業者の友人である染色家、上村六郎氏が「女性がきれいに見える灯りを」とのアドバイスから決まったそうです。そのため、お見合いの場として使われることもあったそうです。女性の方はデートスポットとしてもいいかもしれませんね。

他にも青色照明は、高いリラックス効果や人の精神を落ち着かせる効果もあります。イギリスの都市で青色照明を街路に導入したところ。犯罪の発生件数が減少したという事例もあるそうです。青色照明…いいことづくめですね。

店内は壁に絵が多く飾ってあり、なんか見たことありそう！と思うものまでありました。コースターやコップにも女性の絵が描いてあり、東郷青児氏によって描かれたものでした。そうですよね…見たことあるぞってなりますよね。

東郷青児という名前、聞いたことないでしょうか？　絵を見れば分かるかもしれません。一度は目にしている方も多いと思います。

昭和の美人画家として戦後一世を風靡し、本屋雑誌、包装紙などに多数使われていたようです。描かれた女性像は甘くとても魅力的です。

 

喫茶ソワレでは、創業者が店のイメージに合うと気に行って飾っていたところ、二科会作家の方に連れられてご本人が来店されたそうです。

その後何枚もの美人画を描いていただいたそうです。そのため、東郷青児氏以外の絵画は二科会の会員の絵画が中心となって飾ってあるそうです。偶然が重なった結果ですね。

 

 

 

メニューも多く、魅力的な見た目のものばかりで迷ってしまいました。なので、ゼリーポンチフロートという人気どころを頼みました。

色々な色のゼリーが入っていて、とても可愛らしかったです。

ここで使われているサイダーは１８８９年に発売され、１００年以上変わらぬ製法で作られている優しい炭酸だそうです。こだわりを感じました。

最近の若者言葉の「エモい」という言葉が合うのではないかと思いました。

（エモい・・・心地の良い懐かしさや良質なセンチメンタルに襲われた時に使われるそう）

店内もメニューも素敵でとても良かったのですが、なぜかわたしは途中から「店の回転率」という言葉が頭に浮かび、早々と出て行ってしまいました…。もし機会があれば、今度はぜひ友人と行きじっくりと店内を見回してみたいと思いました。

When I went to Kyoto the other day, I entered a coffee shop.

I searched for “# Kyoto Cafe” on Instagram in advance to find out if there was something I was interested in.

Since I’m going alone, I was looking for a place where I could enter even by myself, and I found a nice coffee shop that I didn’t care about, so I decided to stop by and included it in my plan.

 

The coffee shop is “Coffee Soiree” in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto.

It is a good old coffee shop that opened in 1948 (Showa 23) and continues to this day.

The name of the restaurant, Soiree, means “night party” or “nice night” in French. Surprisingly, the interior of the store is blue-lit, but I think it should match the meaning of “night party” and “nice night”.

And the blue lighting in the store was decided by Mr. Rokuro Uemura, a dyer who is a friend of the founder, from the advice that “a light that makes women look beautiful”. Therefore, it was sometimes used as a meeting place. For women, it may be a good date spot.

In addition, blue lighting has a high relaxing effect and a calming effect. I just introduced blue lighting to the streets in a British city. In some cases, the number of crimes has decreased. Blue lighting … It’s a good thing.

There are many pictures on the wall inside the store, so you may have seen it! There was even something I thought. Women’s drawings were also drawn on coasters and cups, and were drawn by Seiji Togo. That’s right … You’ve probably seen it.

Have you ever heard of the name Seiji Togo? You may understand it by looking at the picture. I think many people have seen it once.

As a beautiful painter of the Showa era, he prevailed in the postwar period and seems to have been used in many bookstore magazines and wrapping paper. The female figure depicted is sweet and very attractive.

 

At the cafe Soiree, the founder was interested in decorating it because it fits the image of the store, but he was taken by the Nika Association writer to visit the store.

After that, he drew many beautiful women. Therefore, it seems that the paintings other than Seiji Togo are mainly decorated by the members of the Nika Association. It’s the result of coincidence.

There are many menus, and I was at a loss because of all the attractive looks. So I asked for a popular place called Jelly Punch Float.

It contained jellies of various colors and was very cute.

The cider used here was released in 1889 and is said to be a gentle carbonic acid made by the same manufacturing method for over 100 years. I felt particular about it.

I wondered if the recent youth language “emoi” would fit.

(Emo … It seems to be used when you are attacked by comfortable nostalgia and good sentimental)

The inside of the store and the menu were nice and very nice, but for some reason I came up with the word “store turnover” and went out early … If I had a chance, I would definitely like to go and take a closer look at the store with my friends.
