本日も雨の降る覚王山界隈です。
東海地方も昨日に梅雨入り宣言がありました。
記録的な早さ…３週間も早いなんて！
 
まだまだ爽やかな季節を楽しみたかったですよね。
梅雨が明けたらもう夏の到来でしょうか？

５月に茶道のお稽古場に掛かるお軸に
『薫風自南来』～くんぷうじなんらい～があります。
読んで字のごとく、若葉の香りのする風が南から吹いてくる、という意味です。
毎年 拝見しては、巡りくる自然の理を享受する喜びを感じるばかりでしたが…
こちらは唐詩「夏日聯句」が出典で、その中の一句なのです。
 
人皆苦炎熱 （ひとはみな　えんねつに　くるしめども)
我愛夏日長　(われは　かじつのながきを　あいす)
薫風自南来　(くんぷう　みなみより　きたりて)
殿閣生微涼　(でんかくは　びりょうを　しょうず)
 
前半２句は　唐の文宗皇帝　が起承の句を詠み、
後半２句を　詩人の柳公権　が転結の句で承けて一篇の詩と成したものです。
 
禅語として味わうとすれば、
薫風の清涼さは、単なる感覚的清涼さではなく
精神的な清涼さとして、是非、善悪・利害。得失などの相対的な考え、
思想にとらわれないさばさばとした境涯であり、
一切の煩悩の垢の抜けきった無心の境地を表している、ということでしょう。
風雅な語韻がこの時節と合うので季節感を尊ぶ茶の席に用いられることが多いのですね。
 

しかしながら…その約２００年後に宋の詩人・蘇東坡がもう一篇の詩を付け添えたことで
さらに知られるようになったのですが、それは文宗皇帝をはじめ上流社会を諌めるものでした。
 
　一為居所移　　（一たび居の為に移されて）
　苦楽永相忘　　（苦楽永く相忘る）
　願言均此施　　（願わくば言わん、此の施しを均しくして）
　清陰分四方　　（清陰を四方に分けたんことを）
 
「皇帝は広々とした宮殿の中にいるから、
暑い夏日の長いのが好きだと言われるのだろう。
天下万民は炎熱の中に苦しみあえいでいるのだ。
皇帝たるものは、もっと庶民の生活実態へ思いを馳せていただきたい。
願わくはもっと、庶民のために施しをしてほしいものだ」
と言うわけです。
 
この詩を読まれて、皆さまの御こころに浮かぶのはどのような想いでしょうか？
禅語と対峙するとき、自分の中にあるものが鏡に映されような気がします。
 

外は雨脚が強くなってまいりました。
蒸し暑い外気から、室内に入ると肌寒くも感じます。
皆さま、どうぞお身体おいといくださいませ。

Is summer already coming after the rainy season?

On the axis of the tea ceremony practice hall in May
There is “Kaoru Jinanrai” -Kunpuuji Nanrai-.
As you read, it means that the wind with the scent of young leaves blows from the south.
When I saw it every year, I just felt the joy of enjoying the natural reason that came around …
This is the source of the Tang poem “Natsuhi Renku”, which is one of them.

People all bitter torrid (Domo tormented people are all torrid)
I love summer day chief (I love the long story of Kajitsu)
Kaorufu Jinanrai (Kunpu from Minami)
Denkaku student Suzu

In the first two phrases, the Emperor Wenzong of the Tang dynasty wrote the original phrase,
The latter two phrases were accepted by the poet Liu Gongquan as a transfer phrase and made into a poem.

If you want to taste it as a Zen word,
Kaoru’s coolness is not just a sensory coolness
As a mental refreshment, right and wrong and interests. Relative thoughts such as profits and losses,
It ’s a laid-back life that is not bound by thought.
It seems that it represents a state of innocence that is completely free of all the worldly desires.
Since the elegant wording matches this time of year, it is often used for tea seats that respect the sense of the season.

However … about 200 years later, Song dynasty poet Su Shi added another poem.
It became more known, but it was a reminder of the high society, including Emperor Wenzong.
Moved to one place (once moved for living)
Forgetting for a long time (forgetting for a long time)
Request leveling this application (hopefully, level this application)
Seiin division four sides (that Seiin was divided into four sides)

“Because the emperor is in a spacious palace
You might be told that you like the long hot summer days.
All the people in the world are suffering from the heat of fire.
I would like the emperor to think more about the living conditions of the common people.
Hopefully more alms for the common people. ”
That’s why.

When I confront Zen language, I feel that what is inside me is reflected in the mirror.

The rain　are getting stronger outside.
It feels chilly when you enter the room from the hot and humid outside air.
