この間、初詣がてら友人と伊勢神宮に行って参りました。

やはりものすごい人でまともに歩くことも困難なほどでしたが、団体客や外国人の方もお見かけし、少しずつ以前の活気が戻ってきたように感じて嬉しい気持ちになりました。

 

昼過ぎに到着してお腹もすいていたのですが、まずはお参りからしないと失礼にあたるかな？と思いまして、おかげ横丁を横目に食べ物のおいしそうな香りの誘惑に負けそうになりながらも初めにお参りを済ませてきました。

 

そういえば伊勢神宮で今年の運を試そうとおみくじを引く気満々だったのですが、伊勢神宮にはなんとおみくじが売っていなかったのです！！

もしかしたらおみくじがないということご存知の方も多くいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、恥ずかしながら私は今年訪れて初めて知りまして…

 

調べてみたのですが、伊勢神宮には昔から「おみくじ」がなく、おみくじは日頃からお参りできる身近な神社で引くものなのだそう。また「一生に一度」と憧れたお伊勢参りは、大吉でないわけがないということからおみくじを引く必要がないとも考えられているのだそうです。

確かに伊勢神宮に行っただけで気持ち的にご利益があるような気がしますよね。

 

 

ということでささっとお参りを済ませて、おかげ横丁に戻りまずは空いていたお腹を満たさなければということで楽しみにしていた「伊勢うどん」を昼食でいただきました。

あのもちもちとした太めのおうどんと素朴な味が癖になります。

 

 

もともとこちらの伊勢うどん、なんと４００年以上の歴史があるんですって。皆さまご存知でしたか！？

伊勢うどんはもともと江戸時代に農民が家庭で作った「みそたまり」をうどんにかけて食べたのが始まりと言われています。その後、伊勢神宮の参拝客にもふるまわれるようになったのだとか。

 

食べたことがある人はご存知だと思いますが、伊勢うどんは他のうどんに比べて麺が太くてやわらかいのが特徴なのですが、こちらも実は「参拝客へのおもてなし精神」が理由とされておりまして、

その理由が…

 

当時から伊勢神宮の近くのうどん店に多くの参拝客が訪れるので、次々にうどんを出さなければいけませんでした。すぐにうどんを提供できるようにするため常に麺を茹で続けなければいけない状況で、長く茹でても伸びにくい麺の太さを試行錯誤し完成したのが今のあのもちもちの麺なのだそうです。

 

そんな伊勢うどんの歴史を調べながら待っていたら出来たて登場。一見濃そうにみえるタレもほんのり甘く優しいお味で安定の美味でした。

 

お腹も満たされましたので、消化がてら色々なお店を見ながら帰りにヴィソンにも寄りたいと考えていたのですが、人混みに疲れてしまいそのまま名古屋に帰ってきてしまいました。

 

食べることばかり考えていた伊勢旅でしたが、お伊勢参りできただけでも縁起が良いとされているので今年１年もこれで乗り切って行こうと思います。

The other day, I went to Ise Jingu with my friend for New Year’s visit. There were so many people that it was difficult to walk properly, but I saw groups of tourists and foreigners, and I was happy to feel that the liveliness had returned little by little.

 

I arrived in the afternoon and was hungry, but would it be rude if I didn’t visit first? With that in mind, I went to Okage Yokocho and finished my first visit, even though I almost gave in to the temptation of the delicious aroma of the food.

 

Come to think of it, I wanted to draw an omikuji to test my luck for this year at Ise Jingu, but surprisingly, Ise Jingu didn’t sell omikuji! ! There may be many people who know that they don’t have omikuji, but I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t know until I visited this year.

 

I did some research and found out that Ise Jingu has not had omikuji for a long time, and omikuji are drawn at nearby shrines that you can visit on a daily basis. It is also believed that there is no need to draw an omikuji fortune when visiting Ise, which is said to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Certainly, just going to Ise Jingu will give you a feeling of spiritual benefit.

 

 

So, after a quick visit, I returned to Okage Yokocho and ate “Ise Udon” for lunch, which I was looking forward to because I had to fill my stomach first. You will become addicted to the chewy thick udon noodles and the rustic taste.

 

Originally, this Ise udon has a history of over 400 years. Did you all know! ? Ise udon is said to have originated in the Edo period when farmers ate miso tamari, which they made at home, over udon. After that, it is said that it came to be served to worshipers of Ise Jingu.

As those who have eaten Ise udon know, Ise udon noodles are thicker and softer than other udon noodles. Nice to meet you, The reason is…

 

Since that time, many worshipers have visited udon restaurants near Ise Jingu, so they had to serve udon one after another. In order to be able to serve udon immediately, the noodles had to be boiled all the time.

 

If you wait while researching the history of such Ise udon, it will appear freshly made. The sauce, which looks thick at first glance, was slightly sweet and gentle, and it was a stable deliciousness.

 

Since my stomach was full, I wanted to stop by Vison on the way home while looking at various shops, but I was tired of the crowds and returned to Nagoya. During my trip to Ise, I was only thinking about eating, but it is said that just being able to visit Ise is good luck, so I will try to get through this year as well.
