このところ名古屋はお天気が不安定でして、今朝も雨が降ったりやんだりの、そう「秋雨」の空模様であります。

 

日本海で秋雨前線の活動が活発になり、前線上の低気圧が北陸〜東北南部を通過し、前線が本州を南下するとの予想でして、前線に向かって暖かく湿った空気が流れ込むことで雨雲が発達し、北陸や岐阜県、東北地方、中国地方などでは雷を伴って非常に激しい雨が降り、大雨となる…なんて予報のようですが、ここ名古屋、今のところ小雨が降ったりやんだりのお天気でなんとか持ちこたえています。

 

 

 

 

そこで気になるのが、今週末10月18，19日の名古屋まつりのお天気。

名古屋まつりは、昭和30年に始まった名古屋の秋を彩る最大の祭です。
まつりのメインとなる豪華絢爛な行列では、織田信長・豊臣秀吉・徳川家康の三英傑が鎧武者を従えて行進する郷土英傑行列のほか、歴史と伝統に彩られた市指定文化財 山車揃 や市文化財 神楽揃、華やかなフラワーカーなども登場。また、2026年1月4日（日）にスタートする大河ドラマ『豊臣兄弟！』の特別隊が名古屋まつり行列に参加します。豊臣秀長役の主演・仲野太賀さん、織田信長役・小栗旬さんがオープンカーに乗ってドラマをPRし、旗持ちの子どもたちとともに名古屋まつりを盛り上げるようでして、自分も仲野太賀さん、小栗旬さんを一目会いに行こうか…なんてミーハー心が渦巻いていおります。よってお天気が気になるところであります。

 

来年の大河ドラマは豊臣兄弟のお話なのですが、このように大河ドラマは三英傑にちなんだものが多いため、馴染のあるゆかりの地がよくドラマで登場します。弊店のご近所城山八幡宮も、かつては織田信長の父、織田備後守信秀公が末森城として城を構えていたようでして、こんなふうに三英傑にちなんだ地が身近なのは愛知県あるあるな気もします。

 

自分もミーハー心がつい渦巻いてドラマで登場した地にはけっこう足を運んだりするのですが、かつての栄華を極めた城や名所が意外と町内に馴染んでいて「え？ここ？」みたいな感じの所も多いのです。ですが、ありがたいことにドラマのシーンによって、セットじゃなく本当の現地で妄想するわけですから、武将気分がそれはそれは爆上がりします笑。

 

少し前ですが住宅街で偶然に見つけたのは、秀吉の母の出生地でした。名古屋市内の御器所という所にあるのですが、立て看板をみて「え！」と、驚きました。普通の住宅地の中です。そんなふうに偶然に見つけられるのもこの地域の面白さでもあります。

 

こんなふうにありがたいことにドラマや映画で臨場感登場する場面は、すぐにそこはただの住宅地や何もない空き地（城跡）ではなくなるわけですが、来年の大河ドラマでも愛知県や東海地方の各所が登場しそうですので、今回はどこのシーンが登場するのかな…なんて妄想と楽しみが既に沸々と湧いております。

 

まずは、仲野太賀さん、小栗旬さんを一目会いに行くところからですので笑、秋雨前線がおとなしくしていてほしいものです。

The weather in Nagoya has been rather unstable lately, and this morning too, it’s been a case of rain on and off—yes, that “autumn rain” kind of sky.

 

The autumn rain front is becoming active over the Sea of Japan. Forecasts indicate a low-pressure system along the front will pass through the Hokuriku region to southern Tohoku, with the front itself moving southward across Honshu. Warm, moist air flowing toward the front is causing rain clouds to develop, bringing heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms to areas like Hokuriku, Gifu Prefecture, Tohoku, and Chugoku regions. It seems the forecast is predicting heavy rain, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms… However, here in Nagoya, it’s currently just drizzling on and off, and we’re managing to hold out for now.

 

This naturally makes me wonder about the weather for this weekend’s Nagoya Festival.

The Nagoya Festival, which began in 1955, is the largest festival coloring Nagoya’s autumn.
The festival’s main event is the magnificent procession, featuring the Local Heroes Parade where the Three Great Heroes—Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu—march accompanied by armored warriors. Other highlights include the City-Designated Cultural Properties Float Procession and City Cultural Properties Kagura Procession, both steeped in history and tradition, as well as the vibrant Flower Cars. Furthermore, a special contingent for the upcoming NHK Taiga drama “Toyotomi Brothers!”, premiering on Sunday, January 4, 2026, will participate in the Nagoya Festival parade. The lead actor playing Toyotomi Hidenaga, Taiga Nakano, and the actor playing Oda Nobunaga, Shun Oguri, will ride in an open-top car to promote the drama. They will join children carrying flags to liven up the Nagoya Festival. Honestly, I’m feeling a bit of a fangirl moment, thinking about going to catch a glimpse of Taiga Nakano and Shun Oguri myself… So, the weather is definitely a concern.

 

Next year’s Taiga drama will be about the Toyotomi brothers. Since many Taiga dramas are based on the Three Great Heroes, familiar places associated with them often appear in the dramas. Our neighborhood’s Shiroyama Hachimangu Shrine, for instance, was once the site of Suemori Castle, built by Oda Nobuhide, father of Oda Nobunaga. Having places connected to the Three Great Heroes so close by feels like a common thing in Aichi Prefecture.

 

My own fanboy spirit inevitably swirls, and I often find myself visiting places featured in the dramas. Surprisingly, many of these once-grand castles and famous sites blend seamlessly into the neighborhood, leaving me thinking, “Huh? Here?” But thankfully, since I’m imagining the scenes in the actual locations rather than sets, my warlord spirit skyrockets! lol.

 

Not too long ago, I stumbled upon Hideyoshi’s mother’s birthplace in a residential area. It’s in a place called Gokiso within Nagoya City, and seeing the signboard made me go “Huh!” It’s right in the middle of a normal neighborhood. Finding places like this by accident is part of what makes this area interesting.

 

Thankfully, when scenes from dramas or movies appear with such vivid realism, those places instantly cease to be just ordinary residential areas or empty lots (castle ruins). Since next year’s Taiga drama also seems set to feature various locations in Aichi Prefecture and the Tokai region, I’m already bubbling over with excitement and imagination about which scenes might appear…

 

First things first, I’m heading out to catch a glimpse of Taiga Nakano and Shun Oguri, so I really hope the autumn rain front stays calm.
