本日、抜けるような青空のもといつもお世話になっております城山八幡宮へご挨拶に行って参りました。

昨年のお礼と今年もここ千種区でお世話になりますということで、新年のご挨拶をいたしました。新年１月もだいぶ過ぎていましたが、ちらほらお参りに見えている方はいらっしゃいますね。それにしても、お天気いい。

 

それはそうとここ城山八幡宮、古美術風光舎名古屋店のブログによく登場致しますが、実は、織田家の本城であった末盛城跡に鎮座しておりまして。（復習を兼ねて）

 

末盛城は、今回の大河ドラマ「どうする家康」でも、藤岡弘、さん演じる信長の父であります織田信秀が登場致しますが、その織田信秀が築き信長の弟の織田信行（信勝）の居城となったのがここ末森城（末盛城）であります。

ここから戦国の闘いの激しい展開になってくると思うのですが、この末盛城が登場する場面があるのかナレーションベースかどうか気にはなりますね。

 

末盛城は織田信勝の死去によって１０年そこそこで廃城しますが、その跡地に現在の城山八幡宮が鎮西いたしておりますので、現在は参拝と共に古城後を訪れることができるというのは大変面白い地域でありますが、今回の大河ファンの方がいらっしゃいましたら、是非一度訪れてほしいなと思っております。

 

何故かと申しますと、ここ末盛城、当時の山城に準じた戦闘用の要塞とての作りがよく残っており、名古屋市内でもっとも戦国期の遺風を残す城址としても知られております。しかも、名古屋市の街中でして名古屋駅から電車ですぐであることもおススメでして。

 

末森城は東間丘陵の端、標高約43ｍの丘に南北約160ｍ・東西約200ｍの規模で築城された平山城でが、麓からの比高は約20ｍで、本丸に二の丸、そして二重の堀をめぐらせた堅固な構造をしております。そんな自然地形を巧みに利用し、中腹には10ｍ～16ｍもの幅をもつ空堀を設け、三日月堀という半月型のとても珍しい丸馬出（現在残る馬出や惣構えの遺構は、1584年（天正12年）頃に織田信雄が再整備をおこなった際の設備と考えられています。）を備えていたことが古絵図でも確認できます。

 

戦国時代の要塞の意味を色濃く残した城跡は稀有な存在でありここまで残っていますのは奇跡でもありますので、今後大河ドラマでこの末盛城の展開が取り上げられるかどうかわかりませんが、大河ドラマと照らし合わせながら末盛城跡を巡ってみるのは面白いかもしれませんね。ご興味のございます方は、今ですよ笑。

Today, under a clear blue sky, I went to Shiroyama Hachimangu Shrine to pay my respects.

 

The sky is as blue as the sky through the trees.

 

We expressed our gratitude for last year’s visit and wished you a Happy New Year. It was well past January of the New Year, but I saw a few visitors here and there.

 

The Shiroyama Hachimangu Shrine, which often appears in the blog of Fumikosha Nagoya, is actually located in the ruins of Suemori Castle, which was the main castle of the Oda family (to review). (For a refresher…).

 

Nobuhide Oda, father of Nobunaga, played by Mr. Hiroshi Fujioka, appears in the historical drama “What to do with Ieyasu”. I am wondering if this Suezumori Castle will appear or not in the narration.

 

The castle was abandoned after 10 years or so due to the death of Oda Nobukatsu, but the present Shiroyama Hachiman Shrine stands on the site of the castle, so it is very interesting to be able to visit the old castle and pay a visit to the shrine.

If you are a fan of the Taiga period, I would like you to visit the Suemori Castle, which was a fortress for battle, similar to the mountain castles of the time. It is known as the castle site that retains the style of the Warring States period the best in Nagoya City, and it is located in the city center of Nagoya, just a short train ride from Nagoya Station.

 

Suemori Castle was built on a hill at an altitude of 43 meters on the edge of the Higashima Hills, 160 meters from north to south and 200 meters from east to west, and is about 20 meters high from the base. The remains of the horse stalls and outbuildings that remain today are thought to have been built around 1584 when Oda Nobuo redeveloped the area. The old illustration also confirms that the fortress was equipped with a “mashidashi” (a horse stall) and “sokutai” (a side structure).

 

It is a miracle that the castle ruins have survived this long, and I am not sure if the development of Suemori Castle will be featured in the upcoming Taiga Drama, but it would be interesting to visit the Suemori Castle ruins in the context of the drama.
