本日の名古屋、気温29度という信じられない暑さということでもちろん半袖を着ているのですが、今朝はどこからか金木犀の香りが漂ってきたり、通勤の車窓からご近所城山八幡宮の「七五三まいり」の看板を掲げる宮司さんの姿が見えたりと、一瞬今自分はどの季節にいるのかわからない感覚になっておりました。

気を取り直して「今は10月だぞ…。」と、自分の中で確認をしたのですが、これは私だけでしょうか。

 

 

 

さてさて先日のブログでもお伝えした通り、10月は天体ショーの目白押しの季節であります。

また、このところの秋晴れで毎日のように月が出ているのですが「ん？いつもより明るいな。」と、何も知らず見ておりましたら、本日なんとスーパームーンのようですね。

 

本日17日(木)の20時26分頃に満月の瞬間を迎るのですが、この満月は2024年の中で地球から最も近い位置で迎える満月でして、今年の満月の中では最も大きく見えることになります。

 

1年に12～13回見える満月のうちで、最も大きく見える満月のことを『スーパームーン』と呼ぶのですが、国立天文台によりますと、今年最少の満月2月24日の満月の地心距離は約40万6,000㎞、最大の満月10月17日の地心距離は約35万7,000km。約5万kmも地球に近づくようで、見かけの直径はなんと約14%大きく見えるとのことです。なるほど明るく見えるはずですね。

 

別の日の月と並べて比較することができないので、この日の満月だけ見ても変化は分かりづらいかもしれませんが、14％の違いがなんとなくわかってしまった自分はまだまだ野生の感で生きている動物よりなのか…と、苦笑いたしました。

Today in Nagoya, the temperature is an unbelievable 29 degrees Celsius, and of course I am wearing short sleeves, but this morning I could smell the fragrance of kinmokusei (a type of osmanthus) wafting in the air from somewhere, and from the window of my car on my way to work I could see a priest holding up a sign for the “Shichigosan-mairi” at our neighborhood Shiroyama Hachimangu shrine. I was in a state of confusion as to what season I was in.

I got myself back on track and checked myself, “It’s October now….” I was not sure which season I was in for a moment.

 

As I mentioned in my blog the other day, October is the month for astronomical shows.

Also, with the recent clear autumn weather, the moon has been rising every day, and I have been thinking, “Hmm? It’s brighter than usual. I was looking at it without knowing anything about it, but it seems to be a supermoon today.

 

This full moon will be the closest full moon to the earth in the year 2024, and it will be the biggest full moon of the year.

 

According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the apparent diameter of the full moon will be about 14% larger than the smallest full moon of the year (February 24). This is why the moon appears brighter.

 

Since we cannot compare the moon with the moon of another day, it may be difficult to see the change even if we only look at the full moon of this day, but I found that I could somehow understand the 14% difference… and I smiled to myself.

 

For those of you in areas where the weather is fine today, please look up at the sky and check the size of the moon.

外を歩いていますと、微かに金木犀の香りが漂ってくる瞬間があり、確実に季節が進んでいるのだなと実感しています。

 

 

 

 

秋の夜長、窓を開け放ち空を見上げる余裕も出てきました。

現在、天文ファンが注目している彗星「紫金山・アトラス彗星」が地球に最接近しているとのこと。

この彗星は２０２３年１月に発見された彗星で、紫金山とは中国にある紫金山天文台を指すようです。

約８万年をかけて太陽を回る軌道を一周するとされており、前回この彗星が姿を現したのは人類が本格的にアフリカを出る前だそうで、私の想像の限界を超えております。

 

国立天文台によれば、東京では１０月１２日から西の低い空に見え始め、毎夜少しずつ高くなり、１４日夕暮れには日本各地で目撃？情報が寄せられているそうです。

ここまではっきりと肉眼で見えるほど明るい彗星は珍しいとのこと。しかし天候など様々な条件が揃わないと見られないため、観測できた方はかなり幸運と言えるのではないでしょうか。

彗星の明るさがやや暗くなるものの、２０日ころまでは肉眼でぼんやり見えることがあるそうです。

その後、高度が上がるにつれ彗星は暗くなってしまうため観察は難しくなるとのこと。

 

と色々分かったふうに書いておりますが、彗星？流れ星とは違うんだよね…程度の知識しか持っていませんでしたので、この機会に調べてみました。

彗星は本体の大きさが数キロメートルから数十キロメートルのとても小さな天体で、太陽の周りをまわっています。成分はそのおよそ８割が水（氷の状態）で、二酸化炭素、一酸化炭素、その他のガス、そして微量の塵（ちり）から構成されています。

彗星には何度も太陽への接近を繰り返す周期彗星と、一度だけ太陽に近づいてそのまま太陽系のかなたへ消えていくものがあるそうで、よく耳にする「ハレー彗星」は代表的な周期彗星で、７６年周期で太陽に近づくそうです。

彗星が太陽に近づくとその一部がとけて蒸発したガスなどが放出されることにより光る尾が形成され、イオンの尾、プラズマの尾とも呼ばれています。その様子から「ほうき星」とも言われていますね。

そして彗星がまき散らした塵（ちり）が「流れ星」なのだとか。塵が地球の大気圏に突入する際に摩擦で熱くなり発光するそうです。

 

この流れ星が一度にたくさん観測できるのが「流星群」。彗星の軌道と地球の軌道が交差している場合、地球がその位置に重なると、彗星の塵の粒が大量に地球の大気に飛び込んできます。地球が彗星の軌道を通過する日時は毎年決まっているので、ふたご座流星群やペルセウス座流星群のように特定の流星群を同じ時期に観測することができるという仕組みです。

 

流れ星は星ではなかったのですね。必死に願い事をしていた身としては少し残念な気もいたしますが…。いえいえ珍しい現象に変わりはないのですからきっとご利益があるはずです。

名古屋はしばらく曇り空が続きそうで、紫金山・アトラス彗星を肉眼でみることは難しそうですが、わずかな望みを託して数日は西の空を凝視したいと思います。

The comet of the century that astronomy fans are currently paying attention to, Comet Shikinzan-Atlas, is making its closest approach to the earth.

This comet was discovered in January 2023, and Zijinshan seems to refer to the Zijinshan Observatory in China.

It is said to take about 80,000 years to complete its orbit around the sun, and the last time this comet appeared was before humans left Africa in earnest, which is beyond the limits of my imagination.

 

According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the comet began to be visible in the low western sky from October 12 in Tokyo, gradually rising higher each night, and by dusk on October 14, there were reports of sightings all over Japan. By dusk on October 14, there were reports of sightings in many parts of Japan.

It is rare to see a comet so bright that it can be seen so clearly with the naked eye. However, since it cannot be seen unless various conditions such as weather are met, those who were able to observe it may be considered quite lucky.

Although the comet’s brightness will become slightly fainter, it may be dimly visible to the naked eye until around the 20th.

After that, observation will become more difficult because the comet will become fainter as it rises in altitude.

 

I am writing this as if I know what I am talking about, but comets? I had only a limited knowledge of comets, which are different from shooting stars, so I took this opportunity to look them up.

A comet is a very small celestial body with a body size of several kilometers to several tens of kilometers, orbiting the sun. They are composed of about 80% water (in the form of ice), carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, other gases, and a small amount of dust.

There are two types of comets: periodic comets that repeatedly approach the sun, and comets that approach the sun only once and then disappear into the solar system.

When a comet approaches the sun, part of the comet melts, releasing evaporated gases and forming a glowing tail. This tail is also called an ionic tail or plasma tail. It is also called a “broom star” because of its appearance.

The dust scattered by comets is called “shooting stars. When the dust enters the Earth’s atmosphere, it heats up due to friction and emits light.

 

Meteor showers are when many of these shooting stars can be observed at once. When a comet’s orbit intersects with the Earth’s orbit, and the Earth coincides with the comet’s position, a large number of dust particles from the comet plunge into the Earth’s atmosphere. The date and time when the Earth passes through the orbit of the comet is fixed every year, and this is how specific meteor showers, such as the Geminids and Perseids meteor showers, can be observed at the same time.

 

So shooting stars were not stars. As a person who was making a wish desperately, I feel a little disappointed…. No matter what, it is still a rare phenomenon, so I am sure it will bring you good luck.

It looks like cloudy skies will continue for a while in Nagoya and it will be difficult to see Comet Shikinzan-Atlas with the naked eye, but I would like to gaze at the western sky for a few days with a glimmer of hope.

この３連休は気持ちの良いお天気でしたが、どのように過ごされましたか？

 

 

気持ちの良いお天気とは裏腹に、私は体調を崩しておりました。最近、休んでもなかなか疲れがとれないな…。肩こりや頭痛もひどい…と思っていたところ風邪をひきました。

どうやら、この症状、「寒暖差疲労」「寒暖差アレルギー」と言われるもののようです。

 

過ごしやすいはずの秋に、だるさや気持ちの落ち込み、頭痛、腹痛、ぐっすり眠れないなどの不調。どうやらこれを寒暖差疲労と呼ぶのだそうです。

よくある症状は、倦怠感や眠気、疲れやすさ、頭痛、腹痛や下痢など。気持ちの落ち込みなどうつ気分や睡眠障害として現れることもあるそうです。

睡眠障害とは、寝付きが悪くなる、熟睡できない、途中で目覚めてしまうといった症状だそうです。言われてみれば、最近途中で目覚めることがよくある気がしていたけれど、歳のせいではなかったのか。とちょっとひと安心です。

 

なぜこの時期に不調が出やすいのかというと、自律神経が乱れることが原因と考えられています。

私たちの身体は自律神経により体温調整を行っています。この時期は朝晩が冷えるなど1日のうちでの寒暖差や、前日との寒暖差が大きくなります。体が冷やされることでものすごくエネルギーを使うことになり、疲れてしまいます。合わせて台風などによる気圧変動も影響し、自律神経が乱れることがあるのだそうです。

季節の変わり目に風邪を引いたり、体調を崩す方が多くなるのも、この寒暖差による疲労が理由のひとつと言われています。

 

不調の理由は分かったのですが、寒暖差疲労になりやすい人とかあるのでしょうか。

それは、ズバリ、「体のスイッチの切り替えが苦手なタイプの人」だそうです。簡単に言うと、「冷え性」の人だそうです。はい、私、超冷え性です（笑）

 

もともと夏は、汗をかいたり皮膚など末梢の血行がよくなったりと、体から熱を外に逃すようにセットされています。通常は、涼しくなるに従って、体が体温を保持するよう切り替わります。ところが、冷え性の人は末梢の血管が締まりにくく、体温を保持するように切り替えるのが下手なため、影響を受けやすくなるのだそう。

この寒暖差疲労を改善するには、夏の暑熱順化と同じで、体を秋に適応させていくことだそうです。若い頃には全く分からなかった「年のせいで身体がついていかない」をそろそろ痛感する時が来たのだろうか。

 

もうひとつの「寒暖差アレルギー」と呼ばれるものは、お風呂上がりのように暖かい場所から寒い場所に移動したときや、寒い中で熱い食べ物を食べたときなどの急な温度変化で、鼻水や鼻づまり、くしゃみ、頭痛などの症状が出ることを指します。いわゆる造語で、医学的な病名では「血管運動性鼻炎」と呼ばれており、7℃以上の温度差がある場合に発症しやすくなるのだそう。寒暖差アレルギーは筋肉量の少ない高齢者や30～40代の成人女性に多いといわれています。

 

どちらの症状も対策の決め手は「自律神経」。

寒暖差の少ない環境をつくり、ゆっくりお風呂につかる。十分な睡眠と栄養バランスのとれた食事適度に運動する。

つまりは規則正しい人間らしい生活が大切だということですね。

まずは夜のスマホ時間を少なくして、早く寝るようにしなければ…。みなさまもどうぞお気を付けください。

How did you spend this three-day weekend?

 

Despite the pleasant weather, I was not feeling well. Lately, I have not been able to relax even after taking a rest…. I was also suffering from stiff shoulders and headaches… and then I caught a cold.

It seems that this symptom is called “cold-weather fatigue” or “cold-weather allergy.

 

In autumn, when it is supposed to be comfortable, I feel sluggish, depressed, have headaches, stomachaches, and have trouble sleeping well. Apparently, this is called cold-sensitivity fatigue.

Common symptoms include fatigue, drowsiness, tiredness, headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea. It can also manifest itself as depression and sleep disturbances.

Sleep disorders are said to be symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep, not sleeping soundly, and waking up in the middle of the night. I have often woken up in the middle of the night recently, but I am relieved to know that it is not due to my age. I am relieved to know that it was not due to my age.

 

 

The reason why we tend to have problems at this time of the year is thought to be due to a disturbance in the autonomic nervous system.

Our body regulates the body temperature by the autonomic nervous system. During this time of year, there is a large difference in temperature between one day and the previous day, with mornings and evenings being colder than the previous day. The body uses a great deal of energy when it is cooled down, and this causes fatigue. In addition, changes in atmospheric pressure due to typhoons and other factors can also affect the autonomic nervous system, causing it to be disturbed.

It is said that one of the reasons why many people catch colds or become ill during the change of seasons is because of fatigue caused by the difference in cold and warm temperatures.

 

Now that we know the reason for the illness, is there anyone who is more prone to cold fatigue?

It is said that there is a type of person who is not good at flipping the switch in their body. Simply put, it is a person with “sensitivity to cold. Yes, I am super-cold (laughs).

 

Originally, in summer, the body is set to release heat out of the body by sweating and improving peripheral blood circulation such as the skin. Normally, as the weather cools down, the body switches to retain body temperature. However, people who are cold are more susceptible because their peripheral blood vessels are not as tight and are not as good at switching to retain body temperature.

The way to improve this cold-weather fatigue is to adapt the body to fall, just like heat acclimatization in summer, he says. I wonder if it is time for me to become acutely aware of “my body can’t keep up with me because of my age,” which was completely unknown to me when I was younger.

 

The other one, called “cold-weather allergy,” refers to symptoms such as runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, or headache caused by sudden temperature changes, such as when moving from a warm place to a cold place, like after taking a bath, or when eating hot food in the cold. The so-called coined medical name for this condition is “vasomotor rhinitis,” and it is more likely to occur when there is a temperature difference of 7°C or more. Allergy to cold temperatures is said to be more common in elderly people with low muscle mass and adult women in their 30s and 40s.

 

The key to counteracting both symptoms is the “autonomic nervous system.

Create an environment with minimal temperature differences and take a relaxing bath. Get enough sleep, eat a well-balanced diet, and exercise moderately.

In other words, it is important to lead a regular human life.

First of all, I should spend less time on my phone at night and try to go to bed earlier…. Please take care, everyone.

雲一つない青い空が広がっていて思わず深呼吸したくなります。

この３連休にお出かけになった方は、天気を気にせず存分に楽しまれたのではないでしょうか。

 

さて風光舎に仲間入りした古伊万里、瑠璃のお皿も深く鮮やかな青色でございます。

恥ずかしながら伊万里といえば染付や絵皿などのイメージが強い私には、これが伊万里焼？という印象でした。しかし眺めておりますと微かな色の濃淡に吸い込まれそうになる感覚もあり、とても味わい深いものがあります。

 

 

 

伊万里焼では素地の白い色を生かす透明釉が基本となっていますが、これに呈色剤として金属化合物を加えることで様々な色を表わすことができます。透明釉に呉須（酸化コバルト）を混ぜることで藍色となるのが瑠璃釉で、呉須の含有量により生じる濃淡が特徴とされています。

 

そもそも瑠璃色とは？何となく分かっている程度でしたので調べますと、瑠璃とは日本仏教の七宝の一つで、青の中でも最上の青を表す色だそうです。濃い紫みを帯びた鮮やで透明感のある青色で、幻想的で静かなイメージから深海を連想させる色とされてきました。洋名ではラピスラズリとも呼ばれ、シルクロードを通じて日本に伝わったとされています。ラピスラズリは古代より宝飾品として、また顔料としても用いられ、正倉院には「瑠璃」と名の付く宝物がたくさん保管されています。

昔の陶工たちが、この深く艶やかな瑠璃色の作品を作ろうしたのは自然な流れだったのかもしれません。

 

 

 

 

呉須は染付にも使われる絵具ですが、染付の場合は釉薬の下に藍色がありますが、瑠璃釉では釉自体に藍色が含まれるそうです。１６３０年頃までに稼働していた窯から瑠璃釉の陶片が出土していることから、伊万里焼での瑠璃釉の使用は１６３０年代以前には始まっていたと考えられています。

 

瑠璃釉の作品には１７世紀後半より金銀を施したものが見られるようになります。特に瑠璃釉に銀彩を施したデザインは西洋人の好みだったようですが、銀彩は時間が経つと黒ずむことも多く、１６７０年代にはほとんど見られなくなったことから瑠璃に銀が施されたものはわずか十数年に限られているようです。

 

深海や夜空を彷彿とさせる瑠璃色に金銀を施したくなる気持ちはすごく理解できますが、この深い瑠璃一色の世界を眺めていますと心が落ち着き、想像力を掻き立てられます。

The sky is blue and cloudless, making me want to take a deep breath.

Those of you who went out for this three-day weekend must have enjoyed yourselves without worrying about the weather.

 

The Ko-Imari and lapis lazuli plates that have joined the Fuhkosha are also a deep and vivid blue.

I am ashamed to say that I have a strong image of Imari as a blue-and-white porcelain or a painted plate, so I had an impression that this is Imari ware? I was not sure if this was Imari ware or not. However, as I looked at it, I felt as if I was being absorbed by the subtle shades of color, and I found it very tasteful.

Imariyaki is basically transparent glazed to bring out the white color of the base material, but by adding a metallic compound as a coloring agent, a variety of colors can be expressed. The indigo color produced by mixing cobalt oxide (gosu) with transparent glaze is called lapis lazuli glaze, and is characterized by the shades of gray that result from the amount of gosu added.

 

What is lapis lazuli? I had only a vague idea of what it was, so I looked it up and found that lapis lazuli is one of the seven treasures of Japanese Buddhism, and that it represents the best blue of all blues. It is a bright, clear blue with a deep purplish tinge, and has long been associated with the deep sea because of its fantastic and tranquil image. It is also called lapis lazuli in Western countries, and is believed to have been introduced to Japan via the Silk Road. Lapis lazuli has been used as jewelry and pigment since ancient times, and many treasures with the name “lapis lazuli” are kept in the Shosoin Repository.

It may have been natural for ancient potters to try to create pieces in this deep, lustrous lapis lazuli color.

 

Gosu is also used in staining, but in the case of staining, the indigo color is under the glaze, whereas in lapis lazuli glaze, the glaze itself contains indigo color. The use of lapis lazuli glaze in Imari ware is thought to have begun before the 1630s.

 

Gold and silver glazed lapis lazuli ware began to be found in the latter half of the 17th century. Silver designs on lapis lazuli glaze were particularly popular with Westerners, but silver tints often darkened over time and were rarely seen by the 1670s, so silver on lapis lazuli seems to have been used for only a decade or so.

 

I can understand the temptation to apply gold or silver to lapis lazuli, which reminds me of the deep sea or the night sky, but looking at this deep lapis lazuli world is calming and stimulating to the imagination.

If you have any items at home or at your parents’ house that you wonder how much they are worth, please bring them in for evaluation only. If you have large items that are difficult to bring in, we will be happy to assess them by photo.

気持ちの良いお天気が続いていますね。

秋晴れの中、ご近所の城山八幡宮にて例年通り「例大祭」が行われます。

 

 

 

１０月１４日（月）宵宮祭

１０月１５日（火）例大祭　午後２時～

 

例大祭は神社の最も重要な祭りとされ、日本各地でこの時期に行われることが多いようです。

新嘗祭と違い、神社ごとに違う日程で行われます。

「例」という文字には「しきたり」や「整った決まり」という意味があり、年に一度お祀りしている神様を称え。氏子・崇敬者の繁栄や五穀豊穣などが祈られます。

The annual festival will be held as usual at Shiroyama Hachimangu Shrine in our neighborhood.

 

October 14 (Mon) Yoimiya Festival

October 15 (Tue.) Regular Festival 2:00 p.m.

 

The regular festival is considered to be the most important festival of the shrine and is often held at this time of year in many places.

Unlike the Shinamesai, it is held on a different date at each shrine.

The character for “example” means “to do” or “a well-established rule,” and it is held once a year to honor the deities enshrined in the shrine and to promote the prosperity of the shrine’s children and worshippers. The shrine praises the deity enshrined once a year and prays for the prosperity of the shrine parishioners and worshippers as well as a good harvest.

Some shrines also hold performances such as Yabusame (horseback archery), Sumo (Sumo wrestling), Okagura (Shinto music and dancing), and lion dance.

 

It seems that “Mochimaki” (rice cake throwing) is held at Shiroyama Hachimangu Shrine, but I could not find any information about this year’s event.

Does anyone know about it?
