ここ名古屋、本日は快晴であります。澄み切ったお天気の中、突き刺すような寒さを頬にうけながらの出勤して参りますと、気持ちが引き締まる思いがいたします。

 

 

 

 

さてさて、本日は節分であります。

 

先日からスタッフTのブログでも節分の呟きをお届けをしておりますが、節分って何気にやらなめればならないことが多いような気がいたします。すべては気持ちの問題なのですが、スルーしてしまうのもちょっと気持ちわるいので、毎年やるようには勤めております。

 

まずは恵方巻。幼い頃、実家では豆まきと柊とイワシの頭を軒先に飾っていたのですが、名古屋ではその風習がないようでこちらはスルーなのですが、いつからか始まった恵方巻が全国的にやるべきことに追加されておりましたね…。

 

それはそうと、恵方巻が年を追うごとにエキサイトしてきております。具材のカスタマイズはさることながら、先日はスィーツでできた恵方巻や金箔を纏った超豪華恵方巻などをTVでみまして、恵方巻もここまで来たか…と。ここまでくると次なるカスタマイズが少し楽しみにもなってもくるのですが、恵方巻の進化かがとまりませんね。

 

そして、豆まき。我が家では、なぜか「鬼担」と「鬼退治担」の役を毎年それぞれ決めるのですが、今年は「鬼退治担」に立候補。なぜならば、昨年外に出る「鬼坦」はちょっと寒いと判断しまして。

 

ところで、みなさまのお宅の豆まきの掛け声はどのようなものでしょうか？。

 

「鬼は外、福は内。」これは定番。「福は内、福は内。」このタイプの地域もありますよね。少々調べてみますと「鬼は内、福は外」の逆バーションや、「鬼は内、福は外」の頭がこんがらがってくるバージョンもございました。また、かわったところで、浅草浅草寺では「千秋万歳、福は内」などともいうそうでして、他にも興味深い掛け声がありそうです。それぞれの所以はいろいろあるようですが、この手の調べ物は始めるととまらなくなり暴走する性分ですので、このあたりで一旦終わりに致します。ご興味のございます方は是非調べてみてください。

 

ちなみに、今年の我が家の掛け声は「福は内、福は内。」に。全力で鬼退治につとめます笑。

It is a beautiful sunny day here in Nagoya today. I feel a sense of strength when I come to work in the clear weather with a piercing coldness on my cheeks.

 

Well, today is Setsubun.

I have been delivering Setsubun-related musings on Staff T’s blog since the other day, and I have a feeling that there are many things that need to be done on Setsubun. It is all a matter of feelings, but it would be a little unpleasant to ignore it, so I try to do it every year.

 

First of all, we have “ehomaki”. When I was a child, my parents decorated the eaves of the house with beanbags, holly and sardine heads, but it seems that this custom is not practiced in Nagoya, so I don’t do it here, but I see that ehoumaki, which started sometime ago, has been added to the list of things to do nationwide….

 

That said, ehoumaki is becoming more and more exciting with each passing year. Not only are the ingredients customized, but the other day I saw an ehoumaki made of sweets and gold leaf on TV, and I wondered if ehoumaki had come this far. I am looking forward to the next customization. By the way, our family decided to make Temakizushi this year.

 

And then, the bean-throwing ceremony. For some reason, we decide who will be the “devil bearer” and who will be the “demon exterminator” every year, and this year, I ran for the “demon exterminator” position. This year, I ran for “Oni-Dan” because last year, we decided it was a bit cold for “Oni-Dan” to go outside…lol.

 

By the way, what is the call for bean-throwing at your home?

 

“Oni wa soto, Fuku wa uchi.” This is the standard. Fuku wa uchi, fuku wa uchi.” There are some areas where this type of call is used. I did some research and found that there is a reverse version of “Oni wa uchi, Fuku wa soto” and another version of “Oni wa uchi, Fuku wa soto” that makes one’s head spin. I also heard that Senso-ji temple in Asakusa says “Senju banzai, fuku wa uchi” and there are some other interesting calls. There seem to be many reasons for each of them, but since it is my nature to get carried away when I start researching this kind of thing, I will end here, but if you are interested, please check them out.

 

By the way, this year, our family’s motto is “Fuku wa uchi, Fuku wa uchi. We will do our best to exterminate the ogres. We will do our best to exterminate ogres.
